MossStar47 ok, this is a saxophone guild and so far we've only had a few post concerning mixed instruments and flutes stare we're behind the power curve here. So, as you can see, this post is about saxophones and saxophones only. So please feel free to post anything here about saxophones. The saxophones the best

I play a Vinatge Martin alto from 1928 in high school jazz and concert and it sound really good for everything and is really diverse in the tones it can produce. I also play saprano in jazz and used to play bari for marching.

I play a Kessler Custom Alto. Big step up from my Cecilio (which FINALLY fell apart, but nothing a bit of glue won't fix). I'm afraid of my Cecilio breaking in the middle of a marching show >_>.
My school owns a Yani T901 Tenor. I really want to play it, but because of swine flu, we're forbidden to share instruments, even if they're different mouthpieces.

hola :O anyone alive? O.o...anyway..i play mostly alto, but will play any sax i can get my hands on. i find my yamaha sax to be fairly free blowing O.o doesn't seem to be much resistance, but i guess that might be in comparison to a clarinet..which has a lot of resistance compared to any sax. my old bundy sax was a lot more free blowing, but the tuning was crap and it had a really harsh sound. Cannonball saxes in my experience don't have a lot of resistance if you use the right neck. some times, though, it feels like there's cotton in the neck..and you can't play very much at all. that was only one sax out of the many that i tried though razz so i'd say that on a general level they're fairly good horns.
