The original prophecy is lost to time, but the translated versions survive. It's ancient as ancient can be, but not as common as you might think for its fame. Most of its acclaim comes from rumor and few have actually read it. When one actually gets a hold of the scrolls, it's immediately surprising as to how short they are- only a stanza or two of the prophetic verse. They are named for their mention of the divine and a recurring theme of birds; sooner or later, the tie was drawn there were divine birds involved and it was named such, Irikara- "shining bird" or "holy bird" or if you want to completely stretch it in common speech, "phoenix".
The most popular translation is the Netra scroll, one kept safe by the Dwarves for millenia. This is the version rumored and spread as a folk tale among Yyestallans. However, it is only half of the actual prophecy- two scrolls out of the four. The other two are hidden in other locations.
The third scroll is kept in Akori, in an undisclosed location. It had been moved from its original location with the first two scrolls as part of a treaty agreement for alliance between Akori, Worritalla and Netra.
The fourth is kept in the Abyssal Library, having been taken there after the ruin of Worritala. The Worrians had kept their scroll as part of the same agreement as Akori and Netra, but during the mysterious downfall of their nation it was removed and taken to the library, the exact location of which is still unknown. The contents of this scroll were infamous in the few historical texts that referenced it; it was spoken of as a doomsday prophecy and an omen of bad fortune.
