A loud ring filled the air. The phone in the kitchen was shaking, its vibrations rocking the wall. It rang again. It was obvious that, though the HQ was abandoned, someone was still paying the phone bills.

Jen wraped long fingers around the door knob and slowly opened the door to the old Skull Monkey Headquarters... but he didn't step inside. Even from the doorway it all looked so different from this height... and yet the same.
Empty... He reached out and fliped the switch on the wall trying to illuminate the place a little, but it was no use... the lights seemed to be burnt out. Hesitantly he took one step into the room... but after that one step it was much easier, and soon he found himself in the den... Taking a dooway view of the room all his old memories came flodding back... there was Isto's sofa, and Diro's windowseat, and the loose floarboard was up where Diro had found that little tunnel through the foundation... there were all the pillows and books and stuff that was usually in here. This was the room where he had spent most of his time with the few friends he had...
Isto... isto was married, had a daughter, happy, and living away in the distance... well good for him.
Diro... Diro was away living the solitary life it seemed... whereever he was.
Wuto... Wuto... Jen hadn't seen Wuto since that last meeting with that pink cat and mop kitty...that was a looong time ago it seemed.
Tawn... Tawn and Tam and .... were all with Em. Em was away.
He walked over and sat himself in the window seat. Gazing out over the grounds of the magnificent center his mind replayed the lighting, the rain, the clouds and the sunshine... all of it. Him and Diro, him and Isto... him and Tawn.
He sighed and leaned back into the wall... his mother didn't know that he was here... not that she would care, but she might be worried that he wasn't able to let go of the past. But why did he come here?
He was lonely. Lonely without the company of anyother Skull Monkeys... heck, he hadn't seen another Sm in what seemed like years! ... but this was obviously not the answer to all his problems... this place was lonlier than he was.... so much lonlier.
Watching out the window, he let himself drift away in his thoughts...

Shiro got out of his car, watching xhilaration giggle childlishly before skipping inside the hq.
" Hello? " She giggled before skipping around, searching for life within the deserted place.
Shiro glanced at the outside, placing his hand against the old, worn out walls. He sighed as he remembered memories, joyful ones.. and painful ones. He silently walked inside the hq and sat down on " his " armchair.
" xhilaration. " he called, " don't break anything. " he warned.
" 'Kay! " she giggled before sitting on Shiro's lap.
Shiro couldn't help but sigh, ' She's acts so.. young. I feel as if she's a little child. It's almost as I'm the parent, and she's the child. ' Shiro thought idly. He looked down at her, she was giggling. ' She's not my Mother. She's more of my sister, and I'm here big brother. ' Shiro couldn't help but smile at xhilaration, before ruffling her hair.
" What's so funny? " She asked, smiling.
" Nothing. " Shiro said, his poker face returning.
" 'Kay! " She giggled, jumping onto the floor. " Shiro. " She whined, " I'm hungry! "
Shiro sighed, before standing up. Shiro towered over xhilaration, he was at least a foot taller. " Ugh. Can't you make something? You're twenty years old, xhilaration. " He groaned.
" But--But! " She whined, getting teary eyed.
Shiro sighed. " Fine. " He said, admitting defeat, " Just don't give me that face again, please? " He said before smiling solemly.
" Yay! 'Kay! " She giggled before racing to the kitchen, her giggles filling the house.
Shiro couldn't help but smile.
