David just kept his thin smile on his lips, who no had a slight different taste upon them. Not that he was completely unaware of the effect women had on men and body contact. Now both of them still needed to move to the portal and even if the world did not exist beside them, in truth one could never drift away. Had David not been so aware of dangers he would be dead at this point. Hunters, assassins, spies and Rangers all had to be able to know what to do in every moment. Yet David was human and some things could make one drift away, even if it was just for a short while. "Shay we need to get going no matter how we start to feel for each other, I'm sorry but on the other side of the portal we can let you be in charge!" He ended his speech with a short lovely laugh. Speaking the truth with such warm emotions was not his style but then again Shay made him go outside character so it was most likely a good thing.

Shay laughed with a bright smile, "Ok stud... let's go." She got up, picked up her things and headed off only to turn back towards David, "You coming?" She said with a smile.

David nodded towards Shay as she turned and spoke. "I'm right behind you!" Then he took of staying behind her so that she could choose the speed for the travel. After all it should be about half a day travel from here and now it would be the bird route.

Shay noted that he was letting her make the pace for them, and she was actually very grateful for that. But they needed to get out of the woods and back into cilivization. Not only for there own well being, but since they've come to agreement on there newly found attraction for one another. The best thing was to seperate one another before feelings and complications arise. Not that that is a bad thing, but for hunters it is. You forget about the world around you and your mission. You forget about everything except for that one person. It's mind boggling. So without thinking, Shay threw her satchel over her head lapping over her good shoulder and took off in a run.
If she kept it up like this, they get there by tonight or morning. Yet her well being was at stake to, but the sooner they get there, the better for them both.

David stayed silent as he followed Shay closely. Well sometimes he jumped up in a tree to get a slight overview about the area, yet these where only short times and done rarely. The biggest key to his awareness could be told that his bow was stringed and ready to be pulled out and fired with. Since he was in best shape he kept his guard up for after all he was the tail guard now.

Shay kept with her fast pace and began to feel her muscles work harder from working on an, already sore and worn out body. Night fell quickly and with it came creatures and sounds of the night. Owl's screeching, crickets and frogs... Shay was plenty used to them, but her companion she was not. Even though they pretty much, well he got to see her intimately. She had not. Shay was kinda feeling out of her element and she needed solid grounding on this untraveled road she was on with him. Cursing for admitting that, she saw lights ahead and was greatful they were close to their destination.

David kept silent as he followed Shay. He knew very well that they slowed down but mentioned nothing. He just took the extra time to climb the trees more often. Not that it gave much since he was able to jump into these trees very easily and most branches was big enough so they created a path so one more or less ran towards the sky more then climbed. Now there was 2 reasons why he climbed, the one was for enemies but the other was to melt the night. He knew that his scar could scare many people not to mention women but Shay seemed to be interested in how he got them. Also perhaps that he was human and respected Shay as a hunter and partner first and not treated her that a normal soldier would treat a lady. She was far from fragile and perhaps that was what catch his eye more then any other girl. Just as tree climbing one does not step on the weak ones. They are just in the way and is not even able to become beautiful.

Shay paused, gazing at light illuminating the darkness and smiled in thought of that hot bath. She looked back noting that David was no where in sight on the ground level, yet knew he was near her. She didn't know how, but she felt his presence... and began to walk onwards towards the clearing into the light.

David landed on the ground and rolled over, using the same roll to stand up again and followed Shay behind her as before. The light came from the clearing and he knew that they would soon enter the portal and be back in a safe zone. Now from there no one would know what would happen.
