Shoji was hoping to leave with Ai just like that but it seemed he would not. Seeing or rather hearing what he heard now it was obvious that would not be the case here. He would hope she would listen to the male she had come to have been with earlier but it seemed Ai only wanted to be difficult. Things would have been much easier if she just came to accept she would e going with him but she didn't. He wondered if he would get any assistance with this but hearing T'kaa he knew he wouldn't. Not that it would really be a problem though. He was sure he could handle Ai all on his own. "If that is how you want it Ai." He spoke this pulling out his word holding a passive expression upon his features. "If you win, then I'll leave, if I win you have to come with me." He wanted her to know this didn't just work in her favor but his as well. He wasn't thinking to assume the girl was a pushover. Finding this overall situation to be rather frustrating he wasn't going to go easy on her. As far as this went he was determined to win this and simply would hold back on causing her any major harm. Perhaps she might get bruised if anything but that was as far as it went. Perhaps he could knock her out. If he managed that much then he would win by default. Couldn't fight anyone unconscious and to have done so he would have had to won from the start. Briefly he looked over Ai thinking to focus only on her. Aware everyone else was in the background perhaps focusing on the two of them. "Come at me Ai, or should I make the first move." He poised himself to fight now after speaking.

Ai nodded, wiping her tears from her eyes and staring at Shoji with determination; she couldn't block out the pain that she felt from Sai, but she didn't want to. She wanted to use it to spur herself forward. She readied herself for an attack as the boy in front of her pulled out a sword and briefly hoped that her staff would be enough to stand up to a sword. She hadn't battled a person with a sword before. She hoped it would be the same as battling someone with a staff. She nodded again as he said the stakes, though she felt her stomach drop at the prospect of losing and having to go with him again. She set her jaw. Even if she didn't win she wouldn't go with him. She wouldn't. Steeling herself, she tightened her grip on her staff and stared at him blankly when he told her to come at him. Nervously she shifted feet. She hadn't ever actually attacked anyone before.
Ku glowered at Ai as she foolishly faced the other boy. She couldn't take him on. He had trouble when attacking Shoji. His sister didn't stand a chance. "Ai! Don't do this!" He growled in frustration as she ignored him. "Ai you can't fight him! Just go with him! We'll come after you!"
Ai nervously moved to the side, keeping her eyes on Shoji just in case he decided to actually attack first. She ignored her brother, not wanting to lose her concentration when she was fighting for freedom. She didn't even really know why Shoji was so determined to have her. She didn't get it. So what if she was like someone else? Did that really mean he had to have her? She'd show him that he couldn't just do what he wanted. She'd show him.

Shoji had his gaze intently set upon Ai. The girl that really thought she could challenge him. What was she thinking. She hadn't even attacked him yet. It seemed she was hesitating. Even he could see she was nervous. It made him feel like sighing in annoyance. Well, this situation in general, from what Ai did from the start. It was her fault this happened. If she hadn't started all this, he would have gotten to the city, and be about ready to leave now. Now he obviously had no choice, but to go through this until the very end. He wouldn't let Ai go anywhere. By the time this was over, she would be leaving with him.
The sword he had. Perhaps that wasn't the best choice to go with. Not against the staff. Not yet at least. Thinking over it he decided to switch weapons. Sheathing his sword and taking out his whip. Then without any warning, other then the fact anyone could see him changing to it, he brought back his whip and set it forward at Ai. Aiming it for her staff, unless she moved or dodged, it would wrap around it, and then he intended to pull it away. Hopefully leaving the girl defenseless. Unless she had another weapon on her.

Ai watched carefully as he put the sword away and pulled something else out; she gripped the staff tightly and braced her feet apart, waiting for an attack that might come. It came, but not in the way she expected it to. There was a whistling in the air and something wrapped itself around her staff, she stared for a second and had to grip her staff tighter when she felt it suddenly try to wrench away from her. She stumbled forward, but then dug her heels in and yanked back on the staff. She glared at Shoji with all the strength she could muster and pulled with all her strength, bracing her feet and fighting the pull. She didn't have her daggers anymore. Shoji had taken them. If she didn't have the staff all she'd have was her bare hands, and she wasn't nearly as good as Ku when it came to hand-to-hand combat.

Shoji seemed to get some resistance from Ai. Though he had his whip around her staff, she refused to let go. Why did she have to put up a sight. He didn't want to hurt her. He supposed he could say he understood why she was doing this. That much, he couldn't lie about. It just didn't mean he would change his mind and let her go. "Give up Ai, before you get hurt." He gave a good hard pull on the whip he held, still trying to pull her staff from her.
She could only hold it for so long. And if she really refused to let go, then she would be pulled closer to him. He considered it. If he could get close enough to her,he could deliver the appropriate move to knock her out for awhile. As much as he still disliked the thought of hurting her. Well, her specifically at the moment. He wasn't really one to spare others from his Wrath. It seemed Ai was the exception. For the time being.

Ai bit her lip and refrained from responding to Shoji. He was stronger than her, and probably had a better grip on his whip than she did on the staff that was a little too big for her. She resisted the pulling even more, wondering how she was going to get out of this. Her eyes searched around them frantically for some kind of way to get out of this. Ku was still yelling at her, telling her to stop fighting and to just go with him, that he'd save her when they got Sai better. But she couldn't let anything stop her from trying to fight her way to win. She couldn't bear to be away from her brother any more. It was too long to go without him. An idea struck her suddenly, and she pulled back on the staff and whip with all her strength before letting go purposefully, watching as the staff flew through the air away from her. Hopefully the force of it would both distract Shoji and allow her to find another weapon.
Without bothering to see if Shoji had indeed been distracted, she looked around and found a few rocks. Picking them up, she hurled them in Shoji's direction. She'd work her way back to her staff (wherever it had flown) and then charge Shoji. She'd have to.

Shoji wasn't expecting what Ai did. Letting go of her staff. It had the staff flying a way behind him, and somewhere in the surrounding shrubbery. He noted this, as he gaze briefly followed the staff, before looking to Ai again. Who he saw had moved. And was now tossing rocks his way. Of course he moved when he saw them. He moved to dodge, and to strike. The whip he had was still firmly in hand. Though the staff was out of sight, the weapon he had could still clearly be seen.
"Don't be so foolish Ai." He spoke this, moving out of the way of one other rocks she tossed. Only to bring the whip he had back, and brought it down in her direction. He aimed to grab a body part. To encircle and trap an arm or leg. Or even simply to show he meant business. Which was simply the whip actually giving her a good lash somewhere. He saw she had it coming. He didn't see why she deserved any sort of kindness from him, if she was going to act like this.

She was able to make it most of the way across to where her staff was before he started attacking again. Luckily her ankle wasn't hurting as badly any more and she could move pretty quickly. She dodged his whip attacks and skittered around a tree at the last minute for another attack; watching as the whip cracked against the ground nearby. She flinched and peered around the tree, wondering how much farther she was from her staff. There it was. Sticking up from the bushes. If she could just get to it... She set her jaw and broke into a straight run at it. She really wasn't good at this fighting thing! The whip came down again and she yelped, jumping back and raising up her arms to cover her face instinctively. The end of the whip wrapped around her wrist and for a moment she panicked before she again moved instinctively and grabbed the whip and yanked, ready to start an all out tug of war.

Ai just wouldn't give up, Shoji noted this when he saw her actually managing to avoid his whip. Why couldn't she just hold still, and let him get this over with? How many times had he continuously brought the whip down, before he actually made contact with her, wrapping it around her wrist. "Just give up Ai." He tried to discourage her, pulling on his whip, moving forward a bit when she yanked it but pulling back just as much himself. "If you continue this, you will get hurt." At this rate, he imagined he would have to knock her out to get her to stop. All he needed to do was get her close enough to do so.

"I'm going to get hurt no matter what!" Ai retorted to Shoji, nearly stumbling forward when he pulled back. Digging in her heels she pulled back stubbornly, ignoring Ku's shouts for her to stop fighting and just go along with him. She wasn't going to leave them this time. Not willingly. She'd fight. She'd show that she was worth reckoning with, that she was something to be wary of. If she didn't show that then she'd be pushed around all the time! Setting her jaw, she took a determined step backwards, glancing at how the whip was wrapped tightly around her wrist. She could probably untangle it if she took the time, but if she took her mind off of the tug of war she was afraid that he would be able to get her unbalanced. "Why do you want me anyway?" She suddenly shouted, "And I don't think it's just because I remind you of someone! That's no reason to go through all this trouble! I'm not worth anything! Just leave me alone! Leave us alone!"
Ku could have smacked himself in the forehead at Ai's innocence. She didn't realize what a tender prize she was to most other people. She was usually timid and sweet and loving, with a need to protect and care for those she loved most. Men would trip over their own feet to grab her if they thought they had the chance of stealing her away. Ku had always been in the way though, and now that he was cornered she was in trouble. He couldn't move, but he knew he would save her after. If only there was a way to get her to understand that she didn't need to fight!

Shoji grimaced at Ai's words, whether they were true or not he didn't confirm it. Didn't she consider he might not hurt her, that if she came along willingly, she wouldn't have to face his wrath. Ordinarily, he would be merciless with someone like her, with anyone really, somehow she was the exception. To the point he didn't wish to take her life, so far he had yet to be pushed to the point he had any sort of violent thoughts towards her, that might change soon enough at this rate.
This girl, he was losing the bit of patience he had with her. "The more you struggle, the better chance you'll get hurt even more." It was like she wanted to have him do worse, like she was begging to see the other side of him he had yet to show. "I'm not going to explain myself to you!" That's all he had to say to her question. "You’re going to regret not giving in," he was going to make her regret it.
This match of tug and war, it could only go on for so long, Shoji had to do more, before Ai decided to. "This ends now," It was the closet thing to a warning Ai would get, before he reached onto his side, where he reached for one of his dagger, then he suddenly started to wrap the whip around the hand that still had a firm, strong hold on it. It would go around, and around his arm, while his free hand held his dagger. What was he going to do? That was a good question, it was something that would be seen, if his drawing the whip towards him, actually brought Ai to him, he didn‘t think she was as strong as he was. How could a female, typically weaker then males, like her stand a chance. Unless she tried something, the dagger he had may make a mark on that lovely skin of hers. Or so he wanted her to think, this was a threat of sorts, he wanted to see what reaction he would get out of it.

Ai stared at Shoji. What was his deal? Why did he have to steal her anyway? She saw him take out his knife, saw him start wrapping the whip around his arm. She was being pulled towards him, or he'd be pulled towards her, either way, he was getting closer. Quickly she scrambled to get the whip unwrapped from around her arm. She fumbled with it, but soon was unraveling it even as the two of them got closer together. Unwanted tears sprang into her eyes. This was all so unfair! All she wanted to do was be with her brother! Her vision blurred and she blinked rapidly to try and get the tears away, they only came on faster, making it near impossible to see what she was doing.
"Why are you doing this?" She asked, her voice cracking as she fought the final wrapped piece of leather. "What did I ever do to you?" She wouldn't admit that she was terrified that he would hurt her, even though he'd been nothing but patient [in his own way] towards her. "Why me?"
