The coming of the storm...

Kohaku sat at the top of the oak tree outside her house, her little bare free swinging below the slender branch that supported her weight. Her mouth open and wings flared, a sweet sound rose from her throat. It was heart-breaking and utterly joyful, and more beautiful than anything in this world, all at once. It was the sound of an angel singing. It was truly hard to say if even the Sirens could sing as well as an angel.

A small sparrow fluttered up and the little mysterian held out her hand as a perch for the bird. "Hello, Spot." Kohaku cooed at her. "How are you today?" She listed intently as the bird chirped at her, a delighted little giggle slipping from her before the bird burst into flight once more. She claimed to know what the bird's said, but no one could be sure if it was one of her abilites. A few minutes later, and robin took up a stand beside the small gold and white child and let out a trill of sound. Kohaku returned the sound with a trill of her own, very nearly matching the bird note for note.

The sun shown brightly in the bright periwinkle sky, fluffy white clouds like sheep drifting serenely over its surface. The day was just too perfect, the bird's too much fun to sing with... Hours passed, the sun sliding its way acrossed the sky, and Kohaku never noticed. Down at the cottage, Blue called for the little angle as she stood on the door step of the house, sapphire eyes scanning the nearby trees. A note of worry touched her voice as she called again. Receving no answer, the half-dragon disappeared back into the house to gather up her many animal companions to get out a search for their newest member.

The reason for Blue's worry showed up about a half-hour later. Kohaku never heard the calls of her guardian, nor the following calls by her fellows at the cottage. She was so intent on her play, and so high up in the tree, that the sound simply didn't reach her. It wasn't until a big, fat drop of water struck her cheek that the little angel returned to herself. Looking up in suprise. A great gust of wind shook the tree with a suddeness that had Kohaku grasping at the branch, a little squeak of fear slipping from her. Her bird friends fled, gone to find shelter from the storm with little thought to the angel they left behind.

Fear made Kohaku pale as she stared up at a sky gone dark and a sickly green color. "The sky is angry..." She whispered to herself, staring wide eyed at it.

~Dragonz's Journal~

The night of the storm was the worst night I can ever remember...

The storm rushed in on us like a freight train, with a howling wind to match, and there was no time to secure anything. My heart stopped when I first stepped out of the cottage and looked up at the clouds, fear washing through me at the thought that my sweet little angel was out there somewhere, unprotected...

I don't know what I'd do if I lost my little girl... She's so very precious to me, more than I could have ever imagined when I first got her egg...

A heart lost in Chaos...

Kohaku clung desperately to the branch as the wind whipped it back and forth, as though the storm was determined to toss her free and carry her away into the dark, rolling clouds.

"MOMMY!" Her wail was ripped from her lips and lost in the howl of the storm, rain pouring down as though some great being had up-ended a bucket of water over the mountain. It soon had her soak through, the icey cold seeping into her trembling little muscles as she clung desperately. The poor little angel was lost in a place of terror and cold... a nightmare made real. The rain mixed with her tears, her wails for her mother, for Rae, for anyone, lost before they even made it to the air.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Blue was frantic... Where was Kohaku? Where could she have gone? What had she been thinking, going so far from home by herself?
"KOHAKU!" She called into the wind, her hands cupped around her mouth. Lightning crashed, lighting the sky in jagged arches of light. "KOHAKU!" Her raincoat lashed as it was lifted by the wind, whipping around her slender form even as she struggled to hold it around her.
This storm was probably the worst one in ages... in all the time she'd been here, she couldn't remember anything quite this bad. The rain pounded down as the wind spun everything into a frenzy, as though the storm was doing its utmost to keep her parted from her child.
Fed up with the limitations of this small form, Blue tossed her raincoat aside and let her form flow into another, bigger one. Rain washed ineffectually down glistening scales as great wings opened to capture the wind and turn it to her will, carrying the woman up into the storm-tossed sky.
"KOHAKU!"
Wind like ravenous wolves...
Kohaku's arms were trembling with fatigue, the flesh rubbed off by the rough bark of the branch she clung to so desperately. She couldn't hold on... the wind was going to get her and fling her up into the sky! The angel had never been afraid of heights before, but all she could think of now was the wish to be on the ground, preferably in her house and in her nice, warm bed, away from the terror of the storm.
The wind was tugging her, her muscles weakening with each pull...
Despite the rough bark, her fingers were slipping...
NO! She couldn't hold on!
"MOMMY!" The wail was ripped from her like every other one she'd given as the storm finaly tore her free from her high perch, flinging her into the maelstrom of rolling clouds, howling wind, and icey rain. Her wings strained to fight the wind, its cruel claws tearing feathers from her as it tossed her back and forth like a little white and gold ball.
Then, something snapped... the sound of it was audible over even the wind around the angel, and she screamed in pain as her wings crumpled and she fell, unable to resist.
As she plunged toward the earth, driven by the storm, she sobbed to herself, desperate for her mother...
