Ari nodded, forgetting he couldn’t see her. ”Yeah, he’s pretty cool. See you in a few!” she hung up, and walked in the direction she had heard Luli go. ”Thanks,” she said, ”but I think I’m going to go talk to him face to face… this seems to be a pretty personal issue, and he wasn’t exactly going to be getting to the point anytime soon on the phone. He said Bo could drive me… you don’t mind, do you?” she asked.

Ever was waiting for a response from Ares, but she noticed that Ari had left the meditation room. Glancing down at her watch, Ever saw that they still had 20 minutes before the bell rang for classes, so why was Ari leaving?

Ever was going to go up to her, but then she saw that she was on the phone. The phone was given to her by that frustrating girl from the coffee stand downstairs. So, the only assumption that Ever could make, since she would not eavesdrop on someone else's private conversation, was that Musica was on the other end of the line. Stupid men and their fickleness... Why was Ari letting him treat her like this? Why did Ari want to behave like this for some guy?

Ever sighed and waved her hand absently toward Ares, not glancing back at him, when she saw Ari hang up the phone. She didn't want to lose Ari now. Once glance away, and she could be gone for all she knew.

"Ares... I'll probably be back. I don't really.... hey Ari!"

Ever saw that Ari went to go talk to that girl again, so Ever quickly ran up to her to hopefully intercept.

She smiled at Ari, even though she couldn't see it. "Hey. What's going on, Ari? We still have 20 minutes before class. If meditation isn't your thing, we could always go and search for Akira and Aurora, see if they want to hang out."

Ever groaned. She had been afraid of this after seeing Ari on the phone.

"Ari... Don't go. That's what he wants you to do, and you'll just be playing into his hands again. He should have to come to you. After all, he's the one who ran away, so make him come to you, especially if you're not feeling well."

Then, she got a confused look on her face as she thought of the last thing Ari had said and she tilted her head to the side in thought.

"Who's Eric?"

Ophiuchus grinned, and hugged Lin as well. "Yes, I am! I wanted to stay for a day or two and see for myself that you were feeling better!" He was actually grateful she didn't respond in Elven - the Elven he knew was two thousand years old, a little out of date for efficient communication.

"So... I'm assuming you've already started attacking those assignments then, if you've been awake for more than ten minutes."

Lin stood back slightly and smiled at her professor. He nodded and went back over to the window bench seat. Books were spread out on it. She pulled two chairs over toward the bench seat and then sat in one of them.

"Yes, I have begun working on these. Thank you so much, Professor Akakios, for giving these to me! It's wonderful!"

Ophiuchus was proud, to say the least. Lin was unintentionally flattering him every time she talked about how fantastic the things he taught were.

"Well, I thought, that, you know... that not being in the same physical school as me shouldn't stop me from continuing to teach you. As it stands now, at least, I'm a little wary of going back to MFHS. The Headmaster is in a foul mood, and he has habit of taking it out on others."

Ever groaned and shook her head. "Ari... Ugh, nevermind. You probably wouldn't agree with me, anyway."
