Fallon the Fox. That's my foxy little friend here. I'm one of the luckier people when it comes to my avis, I haven't had to disable my equip list because of jealous/presumptuous others. I've not had it happen, so I keep my equipped items visible so people can see what some of the cool items I have are. It's also nice that someone could easily ask, and I'm more than happy to show them.
Lol, I was just wondering if Verdanturf should have a Contest Hall or a Battle Tent. But do you have ideas for a contest?
Not really? I've never rped contests but it soudnsa like a stretch of creativity on the roleplayers part. Imo the way the anime did contests is really cool and would be a way to rp them xD
but yeah battle tents suck, contests rule OWO

I vote that there be Contests instead of the Battle Tents. I was almost rage when I got Emerald and found that I'd have to wait until Lilycove to do Contests. >.>
Either way, I'm for Contests. Battle Tents make it seem like one would be preparing for something in the Battle Frontier.
As for RPing the Contests, it would take some creative writing from the contestants. I'd suggest, as it was already said, that it be done more like the anime. With fancy footwork and graceful combinations.
Contests would be an interesting addition. I wonder if we should make them more like the game or the anime. In the game, Appealing goes for 5 rounds when in the anime its just one 5 minute battle. So one round of judging sheen and presentation and whatnot, then how many rounds of judging move presentation? 3-5? Who wants to write up the system? I wouldnt be any good, I dont have too much experience with Contests sweatdrop

I was thinking that the contests would run something like a mix of the games and anime. It'd run three rounds instead of five, with one post being one round. Contestants are judged based on initial appearance/sheen as the first round, and two performance rounds following after all four introductions.
My setup would look something like this: (I've added spoilers because it gets to be like a wall of organized text)
Contests: (Each round will take place by each contestant in order, then move to the judges, then the next round would begin)
Rounds:
Round 1:
Appearance/Sheen (the intro in the games, with the spin of the anime) {Meaning that one could enter with the assistance of a move or combo} Post length: At least one to two paragraphs, as descriptive as necessary.
(Judges evaluate appearance and sheen of each Pokémon, then commence the next round)
Rounds 2 and 3:
First/Second Performance (be creative with a move combo and fancy footwork) Post length: At least one to two paragraphs, as descriptive as necessary.
(Judges evaluate the first round, then commence the second, and evaluate again)
Earning Points:
Round 1:
Points are given based on the factor of how the sheen is, along with the appearance display. (Awarded 3-30 points, meaning that each judge will give at least one point, up to ten)
Rounds 2 & 3:
Points are given based on the method and style of move execution. (Awarded 3-30 points per round, same as Round 1)
Total points are anywhere from 9-90. 90 being a perfect performance, rare as they are...
Tiebreakers: (if it comes to it, which is unlikely, but possible)
If there is a 2-way tie: (Please note that all attacks are auto-hits, and susceptible to crit/weakened damage)
Contestants will do a single attack battle, with both sides using one attack to deal as much damage as possible. *Multi-hit moves are allowed and count as one attack, though are exempt from the auto-hit rule (If 3/5 hit, and one is a crit, then damage is done accordingly)*
If a 3-way tie:
Contestants will do a two attack battle, with each side attacking both with one attack each. ("Contestant A" will aim one attack at "Contestant B" and the other attack at "Contestant C")
If a 4-way tie: (Well, let's just hope that it doesn't happen...)
Same as both above, except there will be one attack at all three other contestants.

So Sheen will be a qualitative aspect here more than an Appeal aspect? Whoever has the most hearts wins? Normal move bonuses/deductions apply? It might be easier to keep track of the hearts, given they're so much fewer than points sometimes.
... I wonder if we should add that to the Newbie guide. Then again, Death needs to give opinion.

Maybe we could all post our moves I'm separate posts simultaneously (uh oh, coordination) so that no one can easily screw the others and use official heart ratings to determine score?
