SLOANE MADDEN THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.
Sloane didn't stop. She--barely--turned a sharp corner, causing the car to turn on its side just severely enough to be noticable. "You wanted to see what I like to do," Sloane said, her voice raised to reach across the sound of the engine. She kept her eyes on the road. "You wanted to experience it. And now you are." Turning onto a deserted street, Sloane took her car to maximum speed and shot down the pavement. Then, finally, when she felt like she had proven her point, she slowed and parked on the side of the road.
The adrenaline had already kicked in, but this little adventure hadn't been enough to really set her off, even with Juno as a passenger. Finding fulfillment, finding release, was harder every time; excursions like this hadn't done anything to ease her stress in a long time. Panting somewhat, Sloane turned to Juno. "I race in my spare time," she explained, volume softer now. "It's how I unwind."

Juno for the first time in her life was getting a first hand experience of what it meant when people said the common phrase, "be careful what you wish for." She had indeed asked for this, but that was before she very well realized that she could very possibly end up dying, splattered across the pavement, a nasty stain for someone to mop up with a squeegee later. She didn't want to be a stain. She had grown used to being a live after all, she didn't think she could get used to living as a corpse. It was about now that Juno realized that Sloane had meant it earlier when she had said that this vehicle was indeed "just a car" Because she clearly didn't seem to care if Juno vomited all over the upholstery, but then again she had made sure that Juno hadn't eaten before they had gone on this ride Juno wondered if she had angered Sloane somehow, maybe she asked too many question and was finally getting some backlash for it. Finally Sloane pulled the car to a stop, and Juno instantly swung the door open, and slipped out of it, wanting to escape from that deathtrap as quickly as possible. She found herself on her knees on the side of the road gasping for air, her mouth hanging wide open, she heard Sloane speaking behind her, and turned to look at her red faced and still breathing heavily. Though she did somehow fin a weird sense of calm when Sloane explained to her what this was. Juno looked away again, hands tightening on her knees for a moment before she stood, taking a deep breath she slipped back into the vehicle closing her door behind her. She looked over to Sloane genuinely concerned for a plethora of reasons, and she opened her mouth to voice one of them, but found herself unable to speak. She didn't want to lecture Sloane, she wasn't the girls boss, and she had only just became the girls friend, she didn't have that right, instead Juno placed a hand on Sloane's thigh, smiling at the comment budding on the tip of her tongue. "The most wild thing I've ever done is dip fries in my milkshake and put bacon on my ice cream." Juno said shaking her head. "and when I need to unwind, I throw paint at a canvas and let it fall where it may." she explained. "But I don't really have any real problems. I get stressed when I'm running behind on a deadline, or when I'm stuck erasing and redrawing a line because no matter what I do it just looks the same, or when my favorite subject gets sick, and hides away from the public so I can't sketch her." Juno said squeezing Sloane's leg, she wouldn't mention that having a freshly acquired bully looking to pound her into the dirt was a very new cause of stress for her because it would kill the moment. "What I'm getting at here is that I don't have a lot on my plate relative to what you may be dealing with, so I have room for you, if something is bothering you, maybe you can unload some of it on to me, and then jump into this death machine you call a care, and drive down the highway at 800 miles per hour....." Juno was never going to let that last bit go. Sloane was actively trying to kill her, for that she was convinced.

SLOANE MADDEN THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.
(Juno is so ******** adorable, I can't take it.)
When Juno burst out of the vehicle, Sloane immediately wondered if she had gone too far. Maybe she should have started with the explanation, then offered Juno a ride. But this was exactly what Ely had warned her about, wasn't it. Sloane was her own brand of crazy, and once Juno realized that...
Sloane waited in the car while Juno caught her breath. She should have rushed to the girl's side, apologized, but Sloane forced herself to be ruthless. If Juno couldn't handle this car ride, then she couldn't handle Sloane. The end. But Juno did handle the car ride--well, mentally, maybe. And once she got back in the vehicle, she started with a story about... dipping fries in a milkshake and bacon ice cream? Sloane was so surprised, she couldn't keep from laughing. That laughter died when Juno offered to share some of Sloane's burden.
Sloane blinked. She didn't know what to say. Juno's words were so kind, they left Sloane speechless. After a few moments, Sloane finally managed to say, "I'll consider it. Thank you." Sloane prepared the car to return to the gallery, but stopped and turned to Juno again. "Would you like to drive?" she asked with a chuckle. Something told her Juno wouldn't trust her to drive them safely to their destination.

Juno gave Sloane a weird look, because she wasn't sure what it was that she had said that the woman could find so funny but she chose not to question it and also chose not to think about the fact that maybe, just maybe Sloane was laughing at her. No, it was better not to focus on the negative, she should be thankful that Sloane was taking her offer seriously, or at least she sounded as though she were. That was good enough for now. As Sloane started the car, Juno tried her best and failed miserably to not tense up just a bit. She suspected that Sloane would take the ride back at a slower pace, but that wasn't something she couldn't be sure of, Sloane seemed to have a mischievous side to her and while she was sweet, very sweet Juno didn't put it past her to try and scare Juno lifeless for a second time. Or maybe she could put it past her. Sloane was offering her the drivers seat, something that Juno hadn't expected, not by a long shot. "Uh.. sure." Juno said almost automatically, she was so caught off guard that she had accepted almost without thinking about it. She could drive, no problem so that wouldn't be a problem at the very least, but there was a huge difference between driving a car, and driving a house. But as long as the house handled well, Juno could manage. She quietly slid into he driver seat, closing her eyes, as she buckled her seat belt and waited for Sloane to get into the passenger side. Before putting the house and drive and pulling away from the side of the road. "Hope you have insurance," She muttered absently as she pulled a sudden u-turn to get them heading back into the direction they needed. Juno was a surprisingly bold driver, completely opposite of her personality, but then again she had grown up in Los Angeles, and driving through down town LA would give anyone an innate sense of road rage even still they made it back to the Gallery in one piece, and frankly Juno would go on record in saying that she was the better driver of the two of them. "You know," Juno mumbled looking at the Gallery and the turn into the parking garage with hesitance. "I've already shown my face, it's not like we have to go back in there...." Juno hinted formulating a plan.

SLOANE MADDEN THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.
When Juno took the wheel, Sloane was expecting a slow, steady journey, with careful, complete stops, and--well. That's not how it went. Sloane was simultaneously impressed and frightened (just a very, very little bit frightened) by Juno's driving. Sloane's driving was well-suited for a racetrack; Juno's driving had the confidence and purpose of a New York taxi.
When they reached the gallery, Juno suggested they didn't need to go back in. "You don't want to go back to the food?" Sloane asked with a pleasantly surprised smile and chuckle. Turned toward Juno, Sloane leaned back into the corner of her seat and propped her arm up on the door's armrest. "Okay, then, captain," she said, grinning. "Where are we going next?" She wanted to see what Juno was thinking.

Juno smirked when Sloane brought up the food, it was a shame to miss out on the gourmet spread that would be lining the tables, however Juno felt she had something better planned than anything that the gallery could offer them. Something that would make their late lunch a little more intimate. She tried not to blush just thinking about it. "I think I know a place that we both might enjoy a bit better is all." Juno informed, tapping the steering wheel, before shifting the vehicle back into the drive and leaving the gallery behind. Juno steered them back towards the school. however turning off onto a side street just before she reached the main road onto the campus. This road was obviously one of the less traveled, only one car was parked near the side walk, from there Juno turned into an Alley way, wincing a bit at the sound of gravel under tires. She hoped that she wasn't rolling over any nails. "Well, here we are." Juno said, getting out of the vehicle and closing the door behind her moving over to Sloane's side and popping her door open, reaching for her hand. "Hope you're hungry Juno put emphasis on the final word hinting at just what she had in store for Sloane's.

The hint only confused Sloane more. They had been heading toward school, and then Juno had turned into an alleyway, and now they were here. Sloane's left brow rose quizzically as she took Juno's hand and got out of the car. Sloane looked around. Was she missing something? "I... don't understand," she admitted, turning back to Juno. Then she asked with a chuckle, "Are we dumpster diving?"

Juno found herself laughing, rather hard actually, her amusement at Sloane's question overriding the nerves she would have had over holding the girls hand within her own. "Something like that." She said, even though what she had planned was nothing like that at all. She guided Sloane down a flight of steps that was tucked into a corner basking in the warm lighting of a hanging lamp. When they came to a door she pushed it open easily, and led Sloane inside. Once they were inside it was easy to see that the place was a restaurant, that had quite a bit of business despite the obscure location. There was no one waiting to seat them so Juno took the liberty to lead Sloane to an empty table, already well accustomed to how things worked around here. She placed a numbered tab in the edge of the table, and looked across the table towards Sloane. "So... I hope you like pork and chili." She asked, waving at a waitress who recognized her upon exiting the back room, the girl gave her a gentle smile and nodded in return, mentally taking down her order. But coming over anyone to take their drink order. "I'll have a Vanilla coke," Juno spoke first before waiting for Sloane.

(Definitely thought Juno was going to make out with Sloane, haha.)
This wasn't the type of restaurant Sloane normally went to. The restaurants Sloane went to had five or more forks, knives, and spoons at the place settings and lavish curtains and furniture. Sloane wasn't sure how they had gotten here, but this homey little hole in the wall was surprisingly pleasant.
Sloane sat down across from Juno. Juno seemed to know the ins and outs of this place. "I'll have the same, thanks," she said to the waitress. Then she turned to Juno. "You come here often?" she asked, curious, a smile on her face. "Is this some kind of... secret artists' club?"

(Hey hey, too forward much too forward.) 'Do you come here often.'Juno smiled, looking down at the table for a moment, that question was rather cliched, seemingly the go to pick up line for the designated lame character for any movie or tv show. But it was fitting in this situation. Very much so, she had just dragged Sloane here out of the blue, here to a place where she was obviously very familiar, it made sense for Sloane to have these questions. "As often as I can." Juno admitted, before trying to hold back her laughter at Sloane's next question. "I wish." She commented chuckling "It is just some place I stumbled upon one day, don't really remember how I ended up here." She said looking around, she noticed then her favorite waitress coming over to their table, a lidded plate balanced in one hand, their drinks on another plate in her other. She handled them professionally and dropped them off with no issue, taking the lid off of their plate, and giving Juno a little wink before leaving. The tanned girl blushed at that, clearing her throat before talking again. Pork buns and Chili." She pointed out, gesturing to the two bowls of Chili, one for Sloane and one for herself, and the pile of buns that sat in between them, baked to a brown texture, and filled with meat. "Glad I have you with me today because they always seem to give me too much." Juno said, taking one of the buns and tearing it in half, watching the cooked meat inside steam up for a bit, before dipping it in her chili and taking a bite, watching Sloane as she chewed.

SLOANE MADDEN THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.
(Hey hey, with the way the detour was being set up, it didn't seem impossible. XD)
This was definitely a new experience for Sloane, and she almost never had new experiences. She watched Juno, watched her tear apart a bun and dip it in her chili. Tentatively, she went through the same motions, tearing a pork bun in half and swirling it around in her chili. It all looked... questionable. But it smelled delicious. She took a bite, and as the flavors filled her mouth, she grinned. "Not bad." She helped herself to more and took a sip of her soda every once in a while. "My family would never step foot in here," she mused as she glanced around. "They're missing out."

(Well maybe it wasn't impossible, hell maybe it still isn't impossible.) "Well I'm very glad you aren't like your family then." Juno commented without really thinking, she realized only after the words had left her mouth that perhaps that could have been a very insulting statement to make. She was talking about Sloane's family after all, people whom she had NEVER met, and most of all, people that the girl cared about. Juno sipped her drink to pass the awkward moment she had just created for herself. "I'm really happy that you like it." She pushed ahead, hoping to just move past the comment as if she had never said it in the first place. "I've never come here with a friend, but I've always wanted to. I really like it here." Juno said honestly. "And I like it even more now."

Sloane grinned and chuckled. "Me, too." She hadn't been insulted at all, and it showed as she lightened the awkward tension with sincerity. After eating some more of her food, Sloane replied, "I'm glad you chose me to bring here. I like this place." She looked around again, feeling comfortable here, warm. "Maybe this should be our place. What do you think? It'll be our hangout. Our secret headquarters."

(Blame the late reply on negligence and alcohol.) Juno found herself smiling a lot harder and a lot wider than she should have at Sloane's words. "Our place." She echoed, blushing like a school girl. "Yea, I like that." Juno agreed with a nod of her head. "Now I'm really glad I brought you here." Juno admitted aloud
