*A fairy tale castle could never be complete without a marvelous garden, and this castle was no exception. Through a picture window that led to a patio you could see tall hedges forming a maze, ancient evergreens and other trees that would bloom into tunnels of flowers come summer, marble statues, a gazebo, a frozen fountain with coins glittering in its bottom; all with a layer of white snow covering every surface. It was beautiful.
Beautiful but cold. Most of the guests preferred to stay in the warm indoors. Nobody noticed the hedges rustle and a dark figure stepping out from within the maze. It was only a boy, dressed in a waiter's uniform. Snowflakes clung to his hair and clothes but he did not seem to notice the cold. He stared up at the window, soft and bright light playing on its frosty panes, and studied the people within. He gulped, trying to moisten his throat, knowing the one thing that would quench his thirst was inside the hall.
He turned away and started searching for an entrance, a side door to slip into the ball.*

He taps on the shoulder of an elegantly-dressed lady with fiery red hair, who is in between greeting ballgoers and looks in need of a refreshment.*You seem lively tonight m'lady. Would you like a drink? *why, thank you kind sir, so you have any Chardonnay* Fine taste madam! We have the best vintage white wine in the area, and it's even better when drank admiring a white christmas. Would you like to enjoy it outside on the patio?

With her dance being over, she grabbed a flute of champagne and began to socialize with the other attendees, making small talk as she sifted through the little groups of social circles.
