Just so everyone knows, I'm revisiting how I do coats of arms. I'm thinking of matching the way Wikipedia does coats of arms (warning: project page is in French) for two reasons: It's a nice consistent look with plenty of pre-existing material to make my job easier, and it's reasonably arranged to make it easier for players to specify what they're looking for.

 So what does everyone think? I'm a little conflicted myself: I have issues with the shape of the shield, but having it be more square makes it easier to, for example, divide the shield into quarters and still have things go on in said corners.

I think you could allow some other shapes too. Like this one, more round in the base. Coat of arms always had different shapes, so I think it is not realistic to just use the same for all of them.

Another thing I wanted to say: I want a chat room. It will be a good thing to have.
If each of us donate just 10000g, we will have it soon. All the ooc between provinces could be decided there instead of making a huge topic in the forum.
It is useful, and ceap if wveryone gives a little. This is the first tiem I donate to a guild, but I think it is worth it. This guild is the best I could find, and I do not care about donating to help Victarus buying a chat. I will contribute more gold if I get some more from games
Yes, I had just 10k and donatet them to the guild, I do not care about gold as much as I care about this guild, I like this realistic setting, and if I can do something to help the guild grow, then I will biggrin

I have just discovered I cannot embezzle guild funds, so I am now kind of "meh" on the whole chat thing. mrgreen

That is the chat? I was expecting something more... clean? Like a NORMAL chat? We paid 100000 for an empty screen to show our avatars and run around? eek
Well, I will donate some more directly to Victarus just for being nice and buy us the chat.

Meh, I'm ok; it's not like I ever spend anything.
And it can function the way I think you're thinking of: Clicking the little box in the corner opens up a chat box. In fact, you can turn off the little chat bubbles and just ignore the background until you need your fix of seeing little people with silly outfits do a funny dances. mrgreen

While not completely accurate -- there tended to be some consistency in certain regions & time periods -- I've decided there's no harm in allowing a little flexibility for those who want it. Within reason, of course; I'm tempted to set up a little "design-a-shield" thread or something. mrgreen Oh, and new turn!!! (For the future, better Friday or Saturday?)

I would like friday, so by saturday, there is already a turn started.
But I talked to Demonicurse, she is a little busy, I was hoping to finish solving the issue of Ralph's court with her before the new turn, and I think some players have some things to finish too before they are ready.

I made the second post of signup a little writeup on coats of arms. Everyone who's submitted one already will have theirs redone with the "pointed" style (with one exception: You'll get a PM in a bit smile ).
