lunashock Well, I know I read that the average TTC couple has a 25% of conceiving any given month, so it is something hard. I'm really worried that when the time comes for us to TTC, it's going to be harder even though the odds are more in our favor this time. I'm going to finish up this pack of BC and then I'm going to go off of them. I know my hubby said he doesn't want to do that charting stuff, but I figure, he's not here, I'll do it myself, as long as it's easy to do! Supah easy www.yourdays.com is what I used. I found out we were having all our sex in the beginning RIGHT after my period and then after a week of giving it a go we'd be all "okay that should be enough let's take a freaking break tonight". Lo I found out we were having all our sex before I was even fertile. And you're absolutely 100 percent right about the 25 percent that's an average fertile couple. Medical science has improved it by about 10 to 20 percent with fertility drugs and the like. (I hang around a lot of infertility blogs).

Quick link to add to the soy debate. This is from the BBC, a respected British news agency, and says that even small amounts of soy can leave a chemical hanging around your reproductive system, that causes the sperm to "peak" before they get a chance to reach your egg. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4115506.stmGood luck to all the other TTCers out there.

Interesting, guess that sucks for us lactose intolerant people who rely on soy products and grew up on them. At the same time though, it's interesting. I don't think I will stay away from soy products. Tofu is a main staple I grew up with! smile

Luna you're probably just fine...in fact a good chunk of us are probably just fine (I eat Edamame like it's going out of STYLE now that I'm back in the good ole NW and I concieved fine).
The thing that gets me most about stuff like this is this:
said even tiny doses in the female tract could burn sperm out.
It probably depends on the woman and the sperm motility and like 300 HUNDRED other factors.
I'd like to see further studies on it. I'm not saying that soy ISN'T the problem for some women. But low Folic acid is the problem for some women. Dominate Follicle production is the problem for some women. Wearing too tight underpants is a problem for some men. Smoking too much pot is the problem for some men. If you're trying and do eat a lot of soy and seem to be having a really really really rough time (trying for more than a year) perhaps it's something to try.
Me I seemed to have no problem while munching down the Edamame.

Ah true, it's all about the wording.
But curiously, isn't soy products usually used after menopause? I mean like pills and such to treat symptoms.
I figured when I go in for my yearly pap, I'll ask the doc about getting some prenatal vitamins (good ole military insurance). I never really realized how important folic acid was, so I want to be tiptop!

Well, hopefully it doesn't take you too much longer!
I figure at least we can have fun trying. I just hope my cervical surgery didn't make me infertile.

Still nothing - I'm really hoping my cervical surgery didn't leave a lot of scarring.
Last time we first tried to conceive in September, had a miscarriage in October, took November off, had unprotected sex ONCE in December, and had Walter 8 1/2 months later.
So I basically got pregnant twice in the 2 months we tried to have a baby.
Now it's been 2 months and nada.

I just talked to my friend about this. She said she highly recommends spending the $25 on the ovulation kit. Yes, you can figure it out yourself, but it's supposed to really help, especially with the urine test to tell you for sure you are ovulating, which is cool. So, when I have my husband back, I think I'll give it a shot!

xP I don't need a kit to tell me when I am: I get all the classic symptoms from the cramping when the egg actually releases, to the higher body temp, to the mucus, EVERYTHING. And five months later, still Nada, which I know I shouldn't be bothered by, but I still am.

I know *hugs*. I'm not suggesting you are doing anything wrong, it was just a suggestion. Maybe you could bring up your concerns with your GYN?

I have noticed that I tend to ovulate on day ten instead of day 14 - I'm seeing my doctor next month, so I'm asking about that. Do you tend to ovulate early or late, too? Maybe we just aren't lucky right now.

Just curious, when anyone went off of the pill, did they get really bad cramps after stopping ?
