TeaDidikai Collowrath TeaDidikai Mostly corn fed where you're at? Yep. Move out farther west and it shifts a bit. Places in Montana and the like have more grass grazing land. It's getting more popular here what with the apparent health-risks of feeding cows solely corn (for the cows and the people eating them), but it's still a few dollars more per pound depending on the cut. :/ You know, for the past year lots of people have been screaming "Move west!" As the reasons for it keep stacking up it's almost becoming unreasonable for me to not move. biggrin

I just spent three hours with my mom trying to figure out how to remove trojans from my computer. x.x At least I am clean now, and I have some idea what to do the next time this happens.

Really, the easiest way is prevention. You should never look at sites for wooden horses or condoms. Also, it's probably best to avoid pages on the movie 300, and any pages with references to ancient epic poetry. Also, do you have a virus scanner and an anti-spyware program now?

PC Tools does not remove threats during scan. Avast! home edition is free, and it does remove threats. It's worked very well for me so far. I also recommend CCleaner to clean out old registry stuff that you don't need, and it also automatically clears temp files and such every time you load the computer if you put it on that setting. I also recommend using firefox so you can get the add ons Ad Blocker Plus and NoScript.

My exams are over for a while.
I refuse to think for the rest of the week. ninja
In addition I'm going as a foresty elf to a fancy dress party next week. I've got a top so far, and I have no idea how to go about accessorizing to make myself look more...elfy.

Does anyone else here often run into cultists of science? Do they count as fluffies? Is there a better way to approach them about their religious fervour, and explain that they aren't actually upholding any greater level of rationality, just substituting it for a religion?

Habitually online, and yes- they count when they demonstrate willful ignorance- especially when they attempt to confuse empiricism with science and suggest science can comment on things that are non-falsifiable or that it is able to generate a sense of value outside of a commentary on what is verifiable or not via the scientific method. Like any kind of fluff, there is always going to be an issue with those who are ignorant because they choose to be so regardless of what others have to say about it. Can't make a generalization about how to correct it.

I went as an elf for Halloween last year, although I had about half of the costume anyway since I went as Link to DragonCon. I had on a white gauze tunic top, with a brown vest that had lacing instead of buttons in the front, a wide green sash for a belt, and a regular belt under that to hold up my belt pouch. I wore some khaki jeans and some knee-high brown lace-up boots over that. I also had on a blonde wig and elf ears. If I'd been able to, I probably would've carried the bow and quiver made for another costume.
