Huh?
"Heh, um... Isn't that a good thing? You act like that was a bad thing. Thats great! Shouldn't you be happy?" His smile widened but then it dawned on him. What was the point of her coming to earth? Wasn't it becuase her father was in the hospital? And now that he was better, she needed to go, or was it her choice? No, she wanted to stay, thats why her tone was so somber and sad. It couldn't be could it?
"... Does.... Does that mean... you're leaving?" He heard a shattering, maybe it was a vase some place far away, or maybe it was his heart. He didn't know, his body had gone numb.

She watched it dawn on him waht that meant and bit her lip. She shook her head and said, "DJ, you know I can't stay here. It was only temporary...until my dad got better."
Lillia hated htis more than she could ever say and she moved closer to him, and pulled his head to her breasts, holding him there. "I'm sorry....but I have to go back. I can't leave Jelena when I told her I'd be her assistant and I can't stay with my mom anymore." She looked down into his eyes begging him to understand. "I-I'll still come visit you...I promise. We'll be together again."

"We'll be together again huh?" His head swam, he couldn't think. No, even if he wanted to see her again, the newspaper wouldn't allow him. It'd be out in a couple of days, and most likely then she would never forgive me. Not until I died. How... Tears felt like they were rolling down his face, but as he brushed his hand against his cheek, they were dry. Why weren't there any tears? Was his conscinece so guilty that he couldn't even cry that his one true love was leaving him? That he fell for a girl that was only going to be there for a temporary amount of time?
He broke away from her and with a struggle of his mouth, managed to put a smile on his face, "No, thats great you get to go back to live up in space. You don't have to visit, I mean, you'll have frequent flier miles to burn, but you'll probably want to forget me in a few weeks..."

She saw how he was taking it and it made her want to cry. She took a deep, shuddering breath and said, "I don't ever want to forget you."
Moving off the bed she went over to him and locked her arms around his waist. She held him tightly for a little while and then she said, "Thank you so much for everything you've done for me DJ. Everything you've shown me. I'll be back and we'll pick up right where we left off. I promise."
It wasn't much later that she was dressed and ready to go. She looked at him adn said softly, "One last kiss? To remember each other by?"

It tore his already shattered heart. It will all change in a matter of days, the way she felt about him, the way he felt about her, (he'll probably still love her, but the guilt will never allow him to even look at her) and here she was promising to pick up where they left off. There will be no next time Lillia. You'll hate me, dispise me, want to wish that I never meant so much to you. is what he wanted to say, but his heart wouldn't let him. He just kissed her, with as much passion as he could muster and let it all go. Giving one final hug he let her go.
Then a voice chimed in his head, "Look at the bright side, at least she'll remember you, as the guy who ruined her life."

She clung to that kiss like it was food to a starving man, her only lifeline amidst a storm tossed sea. That was the way she was feeling right then. One more hug and she forced herself to leave. But she couldn't keep herself from looking back. She watched the apartment as it faded in the distance, taking that kiss and reliving it again adn again. She knew she'd do that quite often in teh lonely days and nights to come and she sighed.
It was time to resume her life once again. She would begin packing the very next day and as hard as it would be she wouldn't see DJ before she left. It would hurt too much, that's why she had said goodbye now. She just hoped the memeories she had were enough to keep her warm through the cold nights ahead.

It was too much too bear. As the door slammed shut, the tears poured like there was no tomorrow. Wiping at them didn't clear his eyes, they made more tears. He couldn't win, his face was going to be wet until his emotions were in control.
"Good bye... Lillia.... Lillia!" Just whipsering her name made his face contort with despair and pain, but he kept on saying her name, the one name that truely made his heart sing and leap out of his chest with happines. It... it was going to end like this then. That was it. No more. DJ pressed his palms into his eyes, hoping to plug up the tears, but to no avail. They kept streaming and now nothing would be able to stop them. He felt his ears wet and starting to cool as a breeze blew throught he apartment. He rolled over into a wet spot of tears and instead buried himself underneath the covers. Was he always this weak? Of course, love always made you weak when you lose it. It made you into the pitiful soul that was crying under his bedsheets. But it wouldn't matter, he still had a friend that would be there by his side to cheer him up.

It moved... The creature slithered so much as crawled across the floor, hunting some unseen force, or merely playing on the ground. There was only so much one of animal intelligence could do before growing bored...
Not needing to find food, or water, or shelter, and lacking natural preditors, quite instintually, Tempest felt that this was his kingdom, and these folk who worked about him were his private and personal servents....
He did after all, not clean his own cage.
But now, he was feeling the Captain's ich. He need some more excitement, danger or thrills... He was bored out of his mind.
The cat rolled lazily onto his back, and coughed twice. He then rolled completly over and coughed several more times. He was doing so well until now, his coughing fits limited in number and frequency... The harshness of his coughs even distracted a few of the nearby workers...
Carry one. "Mew." He said calmly. He stood up and walked about some what dazed. After a short distance, he walked into a wall. "mew." That wasn't there before... He sniffed it, and found his own scent. Confused, he sniffed again and again, double checking the scent... IT was him... "Meww." He turned from the wall and looked back to where he was before, the wall seemed closer...
The walls were closing in on him... Tempest paniced. The fur on his back stood on end, and he hissed at the walls, a trap cleverly laid for him, by rebellious servents.... No, not the Brother Hood of Usurping Tempest United In One Cause! How could he be so foolsih as to leave himself so exposed to such an attack.
"Mew!" He exclaimed as he made a break for it. Dodging employees and PAIDs, he found his way down the corridor until he came upon... A dead end.
Doomed, Doomed he was. He looked about himself in haste, searching for any way to escape this dasterdly group of vagabonds. His eyes fell upon an air vent, which he dashed towards. A single swing of his tail had the vent opened, and he scrambled up in an instant.
One within the safety of the Fortress of Solitude, Tempest sighed in relief. They almost got him, those crazy beserkers...

Torleena Fein watched with one hand on her chin, undisturbed by the images on the screen or byt Jelena's reaction to it. She had had frequent talks with her colleague about them, and she had made progress, but the memories still disturbed her, thus why she had to be strapped down.
The doctor quickly realized that it would be one of those times when she would have to use a little force, she had a needle with sedatives in her hand ready to inject as she watched the screen. But the voice behind her had her turning back to James with a slightly more than usual crazed look in her eyes, "Mr. Moria, do not tell me or even suggest to me how to run things in this cruiser, in my exam room, or anywhere near me involving me. Whereas this is your first time receiving MAPS, I have administered and received it several times before, including several sessions with Jelena. If you EVER suggest something so seemingly obvious again, I will poke several holes in your eardrum or head and "forget" to fix them. Or I will rip the MAPS out forcibly from your head, taking a chunk of your brain with it. Because, as you would not know, that is what would happen if I did the same to her, right now. Or if she wasn't strapped down." Turning back to her patient she found a good spot in her arm and injected. The sedatives calmed her thoughts and memories, allowing them to slow so Fein could do a manual ejection of the MAPS machine, fixing the hole, and keeping her brain in tact. The woman had enough sdatives that she was calm a ltitle lax but could move fine. Waiting a moment, the doctor unstrapped her friend and patted her on the head. "There there now, no fires on the ship, food isn't even reall cooked that way, no cocktails but the ones we get drunk off of, and all of your echos are fine. We will be discussing them as well, more of a check up for you."

Jelena merely sat there, her body processing the small amount of sedatives. Breathing was a little fast but other than that she was fine, maybe now a little wound up, but that always happened nine out of ten times. A lazy look to Fein. "I hate it...when it goes that way...." Then she let her head more or less loll to the side to get a look at James. "Interesting process...no?"

"Dangerous is more the term I would use."
A glance at the doctor.
"forcibly rip anything out of me and I'll see to it you won't even be able to have a soda without someone feeding it to you."
Okay, a bit defensive at being chastized adn threatened over that.
"I was only expressing my concern. I'm not a pychiatrist or and expert in these things. I have a right to get worried with she has to be strapped down and starts actign like your putting her through an electrocution."

Fein gave Jelena a little something to eat, "Help regain your strength," and looked back to James, crossing her arms and leaning on the chair. "Tis a normal procedure, a necessary evil sometimes, she is better since they have started. That threat does not bother me, because you would be missing whatever components are necessary in that head of yours to issue it. Just don't do it again because you would never be able to do anything to me. Therefore the main point is, you control whether anything bad happens, by just keeping your mouth shut. The same as I can't tell you if you are doing something wrong at meta." She had particulars about people telling her what to do, especially simple things. She's just eccentric... Besides if either of them were hurt from the aforementioned threats, they would both be in jail, and he would not have his precious Jelena. She ruffled the other doctor's hair slightly, "As always, take whatever time you need, I will be making notes in my office." So she rushed off into her office, had a one sentence yelling fight with Jesse, left the door open and made her notes.

She popped the two pills she had been given easily enough. "Oh quit fighting." Of course that didn't matter what she said...Fein wasn't the easiest person to get along with and you have to know how to step about her person just so. She had a few interesting quirks to say the least. Jelena lounged in that chair a bit longer before she pushed herself up to stand and ran a hand through her hair. "A little smoother than last time really..." And she looked to him with a smile. "Really though, don't get upset over her or anything. She doesn't mean anything personal, it's just the way she is."

"Tell me again, Jelena, why we have a pychotic pychologist?"
Crossing his arms lightly, and shaking his head. you always knew when somethign went wrong in Meta. becuae the coroners had to come when somethign went wrong there.
"And tell me again how you talked me into this?"

Jelena's hands played with each other a moment. "Because she's the best in her field, an the inventor of such pioneering technology, that's why. And I wouldn't call her pyschotic...maybe eccentric." And then a smile and a shrug. "And because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Though I probably should of warned you that my MAPS are almost always like that."
