Doesn't communism work on paper but appiled to real world it doesn't?
>.>
Pretty much.
Well, that's because Communism has never happened in the real world. Not even Socialism, according to dear ol' Trotsky. I mean, take the Soviet Union. The revolution has to happen in an advanced capitalist country. Russia was sort of backwater. The majority of the population was not proletarian (proleteriat?), but peasant. Lenin's party, the Bolsheviks (who, with the exception of Trotksy, Bukharin, and a few other people who make it off just because they're so damn cool, I do not like), were the minority even in their own socialist party thing. The Mensheviks were the majority. The Bolsheviks were, y'know, the vanguard party. A vanguard party. Whatever.
Anyways, the Bolsheviks dragged their country into socialism, which they definitely weren't ready for. Lenin declared Proletarian Dictatorship, which was supposed to give voice to the proletaritian people. Instead it got sort of twisted and Lenin squashed the elected body. The bureaucracy, which was supposed to be on it's way to dying, expanded, and became nororiously annoying in the years to follow. The USSR also didn't have the advanced technology and such that would have come from capitalism, so they basically trying to play a game of catch-up with the industrial world instead of focusing on socialism. And since Germany didn't go Commie and help Russia out, like Lenin thought it would, the Soviet Union was pretty much screwed.
So, um, anyways, Lenin ruled for a while, and there was a civil war, a famine, that boat rebellion, the New Economic Plan, and some other stuff. Then Lenin croaked, and there was a power struggle, and Stalin took over and made everybdoy hate Communism with forced slave labor and more famine and rapid collectivization and that kulaks thing and the five year plan and the other five year plans and the whole part about trusting Hitler and then the war and the famines and the killing and such and when it was over the whole satellite state and Soviet republic thing with the conquered territories and a few more Gulags and then finally kicking the bucket. I mean, Lenin was hardly perfect and I am getting so ******** tired of people saying that he is. I mean, Figurative God forbid that Lenin ever made a single mistake in his entire life! He was our valiant socialist savior! Oh, if only Stalin hadn't came along and ruined Lenin's glorious revolution! Then we would surely be living in a Communist paradise!
Sometimes I think that ol' Trotsky had it coming.
mad Oh, but anyways. I was trying to be relevant, wasn't I?
I'm not sure if socialism is possible. I just don't think that capitalism is going to last forever. I'm not really sure why, but these things always seem to be changing. Candles didn't last forever, and neither did monarchy or feudalism. Something has to be next, right?
But at the moment, there are no socialist countries. China is not Communist. The Communist Party is corrupt, and not really all that Communist at all. There has never been a socialist country, unless you count those tribes and that whole primitve socialism thing. Which you're not going to, because I said so.
I'm not trying to convert anyone to Communism here or anything. I'm having enough trouble trying to decide whether I like it or not. Just capitalizing on the oppurtunity to act like a deranged fangirl, that's all. Hope you all weren't too confused. Or that you won't lynch me.
That would be no good.
