Gomen, sometimes I forget about people with tiny monitors sweatdrop
and errmm, that -is- what rafters are, but generally, the support beams, butresses, rafters and what not are all connected and that space is referred to as the rafters. People will often refer to birds perching in the rafters, when technically they're on the support beams. We're not talking so much as the specific segment of architecture as the general space of where it's located... if that makes sense...
