The cat bite the food before it landed, and quickly gobbled it up. Wasn't that the human he didn't like? Food and free food were the two quickest ways into Tempest's heart... Poor fellow, he just needs to be loved.
Tempest jumped off the chair and walked over to Erik, and rubed his back into the fold of his leg, triping the human up somewhat. The cat purred and continued to roughly be affectionate to the human. "Purrrrr."

"Great, now it likes me..." A look down at the cat of sorts. "Or is this one of your tricks where you butter me up, I go down to your level and then you put a spine in my shoulder and claws in my face?" No, he didn't trust the thing...it had mood swings or somthing. Nope, not crouching to pet it so it could get a shot at him.

The cat felt the emity roll of the human, and he looked up, his eyes large and tearful, his whisker's slowly receding, his butt slowly sinking to the ground, his lip trembled, and he coughed twice.
but but but, don't you love me? "Mew?"

Don't pull that came with me. You'll just bite me and then when you bite me I'll fling you and then Trevy will be mad at me and not you, when it's you that's started it all. Oh no, I know how you work Tempest...odddly, but I do know how you work."

The cat kept up the hurt look for some time, he was full, or so he thought, and he could wait until this silly human surrender his affection.

"No Tempest...don't beg for attention. I'll PAID you in your habitat if you keep it up." Really, Erik has no tolerance for the creature...it was a trickster and had made it all too clear before that he didn't like Erik. Always luring him into a false sense of security then biting or scratching or stabbing him. "Can't you bother someone else?"

"Meew." I hate you. The cat stormed away after his attempts to be affectionate were denied. A little growl and a hiss aimed at Erik were all Tempest offered as he went in search for... for... Her.. She would make it all better.
He followed the scent right into a door, "Mew."
Coughing twice, the cat changed directions and walked towards his favorite air vent, and climbed up it.

Dear Jelena,
How is everythign with the Echoes? And how are you doing? things are going alright down here on Earth. I'm coming home! I mean...to space. Probably sometime next week, that is if my position is still open. But I have really good news which I probably should have told you first. My father is out of ICU and he's coming home tomorrow. Which means I'll get him situated here and then I'll come back to work. I'm so excited, I've missed you all so very much.
What's new with you and James? Still setting the rumor mill on fire? And how's Rosey and Rennell? Are they still driving you nuts. I hope everything is alright and I'm sorry for all the bad publicity because of me. I know my mom meant well...she was just upset and those reporters twisted what she said. They do that a lot.
I have some really good news for you. I met someone here on Earth. Yes, he's staying but he's so sweet and kind and I think...I'm in love Jellie. Can yo ubelieve that? I think at 23 years old I've found my soul mate. I've never felt like this befor ein my entire life. I just want to be close to him and see him and laugh with him. He makes me so happy. I know what you're thinking, how are you gonig to be in space when he's on Earth. Well, I'll still talk to him all the time and I'll go visit him when I get the chance. He's a writer, but not that kind of writer. He writes fiction stories.
Anyway give my love to everyone and tell them I'll see them soon. Talk to you later Jellie,
Lillia
P.S. How's Raedon doing? Surviving alright and everything? oh and tell James I fully intend to get you organized when I get back.
She studied the email one more time, flushing when she saw how much she talked about DJ. But she loved him so much and she desperately wanted to tell someone how she was feeling. She spell checked it just in case and clicked send. Then she shut down her computer and headed back to see her mother.

It had been an hour or two since James and Jelena parted ways. He had gone off with Erik to apparently test fleet weapon calibration or something...but she didn't mind, she was having her own little quiet time. A break if you would. But a noise from her computer alerted her to an email which was opened and scanned through.
Jelena couldn't help but smile. You could feelt the happy in Lilia's email...not to mention that Jelana had recently noticed that the young woman had givne her a nickname. Jellie. That was a new one for her. But of course she was a little off about the writer boy...even if Lilia offered reassurance to the fact that he wasn't 'that' type of writer. Thus a reply back was started.
Dear Lilia,
Things go on as they usually do up here...though with a bit more...let's call it excitment. Had a few problems with some Echoes earlier in the week, got myself hurt...but no big deal. What with medical technology and all today. So don't get all upset. Good to hear about your father recovering and that you're coming back here...after all, could use a good assistant. I could say that James is filling in your place while you're away...he spends quite the bit of time around Echo now.
Me and James...well it's not a rumor anymore, we took to offically dating. It's been...interesting to say the least. Though in a good way. Rosey and Rennell have actually taken a little change...Ren as I hear it is never late for his appointments anymore and Rosey got herself a little pet Echo all her own. I know, not usually my policy...but Rosey is the exception. And bad publicity...oh don't worry. In fact get used to it, happens all the time.
But you've met someone have you? Though you know me...a little off at him being a writer of any sorts, but that's a scientist's paranoia for you now isn't it? But good for you none the less taking a chance at such a deep emotion. Though I'll be frank...he affects your attention to your work up here and I'm not going to be a happy boss at all. I'm sure I don't need to explain the consequencese to you.
And Raedon is doing fine...adapting pretty well among the others of his kind really. Quite the handsome Echo as well. I belive he's actually grown a good six inches too since you've been gone. Oh and...James tried already...I've made a mess of his organization. Hope to see you soon Lilia.

Rosey woke up to something tickling her face and with a little huff she opened her eyes and discovered that it was Kyri's nose. The little muse was flopped across her, her head against Roselyn so that she was staring at her upside down. Blinking once, she let out a small whine then rolled over off her. Rosey pet her, scratched her lightly much to the creature's delight and until she jumped down and stood letting out another whine for food. Obligingly Rosey got some food, then went about getting changed and ready.
Torleena rushed into the room fast enough to send a few papers flying and one particularly giant stack tumbling over completely right onto her assistant Jesse who blew her hair out of her face, pushed her glasses up onto her nose further, and mumbled lightly, "Good to see you again ma'am."
In Torleena's main office she rushed around dropping her things and moving papers and equipment from aroundher desk. Deciding that was taking too long she just pushed everything off the desk, causing much noise and her assistant's eyes to roll. Throwing her dirty blonde hair into a bun her coal eyes stared intently at the computer screen only a moment before she started typing furiously. With Jesse appearing at the door their conversation went something like this:
"Welcome back ma-." "Whatever." "How did things g-" "Don't ask." "You are backed up on appointm-" "I know." Jesse sighed, crossed her arms and leaned against the door frame watching Fein. The heaved sigh and silence caused the doctor to turn her eyes up and over from the computer to watch the girl a moment, "Yes?" "I don't think I can impress upon you how bad it was that you left and did not let anyone else do anything. I don't think I can impress upon you what the freaks in main cruiser were starting to say, and yell, and consider. You should have allowed me to run the equipment, keep up you appointments and make sure everyone is ok." Fein started to let her attention wander back to the screen and Jesse stood up and walked forward warranting more attention, "The nature of this cruiser and your job state that you should be more efficient, you deal with people's psyche after all."
After Torleena looked from the screen yet again, she closed her eyes a moment, sighed, rubbed her forehead with one hand and walked calmly and slowly around the desk to lean on it, now watching Jesse. "Well, yes, efficiency is good. Normally. But I wonder, since when did you think I cared what main cruiser or anyone else for that matter thought? Are you saying that without me being here to poke nice, neat little holes in people's ear and have a nice sterile cold machine latch onto their brains that they will go INSANE?! To me that might push someone more to need therapy than benefit from it. Also, I doubt very much that people are going insane seeing as the cruiser is still up in orbit and has not gone in a downward spiral crashing to Earth or spinning into space in a nice fiery ball of doom. Because you know I think insane people can't drive cruisers or keep them maintained, not that people on both Earth and the space station don't want to see it crash down in a fiery ball. Earth because they hate the station and projects, the spacers because if they got to go they would not mind making a nice crater in the Earth and setting things on fire as a way to go. And do NOT site me for sarcasm, I have been in these people's heads, I can tell you if it is true or not. So why don't you IMPRESS me and go call up all missed appointments to see me soon before I send YOU down to Earth."
With that Jesse was out the door, it was shut, and she was going back to her desk knowing that the next flight was not today therefore knowing that she would not be flying by shuttle back to the planet, should she not do what she was told. For being essentially the pschiatrist, Fein was insane.

"Again."
For the twenith time, James was monitoring on his devices the calibration of fleet issued weapons. and so far, everyone of them had been and full seven milimeter's off. not much most would think. but seven milimeters coudl be life or death in a combat situation.
"All your fleet issue is off by seven milimeters. what the hell is going on. any weapon that the military gives anyone should be perfectly calibrated before it leaves the shipping depot. Something's not right here."

"You think maybe you are being a tad bit paranoid here James? Really...it's seven millimeters. Just means something on the assembly line wasn't alighned just so...not need to get your circuits crossed about it." Erik shook his head and fire another shot. This was getting rediculous really. "And they're not really made to aim James...more of blast the hell out of whatever is in front of you."

"What I tell you right now stays in this room. Do you understand? Jelena, Fein, Rennell, Rose...not even your dearest aunt or you mother learns what I'm about to tell you. I even think you spilled this information and I will personally fed you to teh Fenrirs and cover you in barbeque sauce to make sure they eat you."
Now that that was out of the way.
"I got an email. People are pushing for Fleet to get shut down. and not just Echo. all of it. and it's not just the Nikko family. it's military. Someone on the high up is leaking info. if the military gets something that lets them come up here, seven milimeters can disable a drone, or not even phase it. and every weapon on this recent shipment is off. every one of them. the old calibrated weapons got sent back for testing becuase they said there was a 'potential malfunction error'. Now, does it sound a little more suspicious to you?"

Come to think of it at the beginning of the year all those who helf fleet issue weapons were told to turn them over for the ones that were to be shipped in. Huh...no one had ever thought about it at all. "What, the military is sore that we cut them out of the picture now? Is that their beef with us? Damn right wing bastards." Erik actually looked serious, which was rare. "Alright then...so what are you planning on doing?"

Fein yelled from behind her office door, keys still going crazily, "I don't hear that GODD System!!"
Jesse had thrown all the papers in the air startled at the yell from her boss, then mumbling she picked them up again and rifled through the semi organized list of people who had MAPS apointments. According to the computer Rosey had an appointment for maintenance today so she should be moved back, who else? James, Rennell, Doctor Jelena, oh god. With her millionth sigh that morning she accessed the GODD system and said in a slightly strained voice,
"James Moria, report to the Impression cruiser for your VERY belated MAPS appointment." IN the background of the GODD system random yelling and rants were heard from Fein obviously angry about the emphasis on the appointments being late, one finally shout and the system was off. One could have guessed that Jesse was knocked out with the accompanying crash.
