Sorry I haven't been around, it's near end of Winter Sem. and I'm facing finals.
Some ideas from my sleep-deprived brain
1. Flashbacks -- we pull all the BOIs, and have the writers write a small reflective piece on where they were when they wrote their poem/story, what urged them to write it, and how they've grown since.
2. A Grand Prize out of all the BOIs; readers get to vote on the winning one. We could hold the poll in a pre-Issue post/flyer/thinggie
3. Blurbs by the staff?
******
Sudden idea-flash for future Beyond the Boxes.
1. Where are they now -- Where are the NaNoWriMo-ers now and what's become of their novels? 2. Novel vs. Movie debate

I finally have a possible column written up. It's posted in the Geek Chi: A Girl's Guide to Geekdom thread, which I will helpfully link here. Comments are welcome; please let me know what you think! It's still highly in need of editing, so don't even worry about grammer issues or small flow problems. I'm mainly concerned about whether or not it's interesting and understandable. Nemea, I like your sleep depressed brainstorms, especually the Movie v. Book debate.

K, so I sent out PMs to past BOI winners asking them to write a small reflective essay on their writing.
......hopefully we'll get enough to make a Beyond the Box out of it.
Sadly, the 1st ever BOI winner seems to no longer be active on Gaia....or has a new account that I was not able to find.

Her last login was at the end of December, so you're probably right in that she isn't vey active. I can go look to see if she has a new account.

Well, in good news, I got the first part of my bonus articles of great offensiveness done. Hell, I may even triple it up just to point out how much Chuck o'no talent Paoloni needs to be wiped off the face of the planet. Everytime I see a picture of him I just get this urge to punch him in the face. And honestly, he does look like somebody who could use a good punch in the face.

Lilly: Yes. xd I'm going to actually stick with this one, though. sweatdrop
Clavy: Your anger = good, for you actually complete articles! whee
And as for the Flashback thing, I've got Ok responses from
-Danube ((2nd ever BOI)) - arddunaid - Prairie Fire - Jasper Riddle ((She's PMed me her essay, I'll go thru it later)) - Hemp Fandango ((I figure as long-running published story, it would be cool for her to have a personal essay too.))
Lilly: Any luck tracking Ishtar down?

No luck with Ishtar, sorry. I checked her last posts, didn't see anything to indicate that she'd created a new account. Checked her friendslist, same thing. Jaho: What Deabus said: your anger=good. And, from what I've seen/heard, you'll probably have quite a bit of agreement. Nemea: Are you still waiting on Hawthorne, LockeTaelos, Danube, and Apropos Krause? There's also Alicemae, but she doesn't seem to have been lately. For that matter, Locke hasn't been on recently, and Krause last got on in January. And have you gotten any negative replies?

Hi guys, sorry I randomly disapeared for a week, but midterms happened...which, although I didn't have any actual midterms, meant lots of essays. But I'm back now, and I should have lots of time this weekened to perfect my own articles. Any theme I should be aiming toward for this issue? I know it's our Anniversary Issue, so whatever I do should be good, but I can also write a review of a typical type of movie, or focus on a particular aspect of life for my column...just give me the word, and I'll get cracking!

Is it really the anniversary? How fitting that my article make the return to the Press at such a time... And a little ironic, although that could just be my thesaurus messing around with my head.
