SeaclanOnly time would heal her. A voice chimed in Sandstripe's ear. He hesitated before trying to comfort Griffonsea. Maybe the voice was the right this time. There was nothing a vole could do to really help boost her current state of well-being. But if there was something, or someone that could comfort Griffonsea, it would be Serenepaw. A slightly afflicted Sandstripe padded away. He looked up again to see that Kindsoul already arranged another piece for him. He purred as he plopped down and dragged the vole near to him." It's your turn, Serenepaw." He meowed, referring to Griffonsea, before taking a bite of the vole. All we can do is wait. Simple.

Seaclan I gave Sandstripe a brisk nod. Right, my turn. I padded to the earthy brown she-cat. I imperceptibly put the Thyme in front of her paws."Griffon Warrior, I suggest you take this. Eat it." I meowed. I looked at the injured, to which most were sleeping peacefully."Others are also in fear, scared. The earthquake does not hesitate for scaring." I meowed in a soothing tone." Those sleeping were also terrified and got hurt in the process. As your medicine cat, I should know that wounds heal over time, and so does the clan." My fluffy tail slowly made it way over the top of Griffonsea's head, in a vain attempt to calm the female.
"Real tears are not those that fall from the eyes and cover the face, but those that fall from the heart and cover the soul."
SeaClan----Apprentice
Feeling Rarepaw's tail drape over his back, Lostpaw lead the way over to Serenepaw. He was glad that Rarepaw was okay and that she was with him. Pacing over to her, his head cocked slightly to the side, mewed, "-s th'r 'nyth'ng we c'n du ta h'lp, S'r'e'n'paw?"
Having already gathered the marigold, Lostpaw didn't know what else he and Rarepaw could do to help. However, there were injured cats and likely to many for the medicine cat's apprentice to handle on her own. Working his paws on the ground, he waited for Serenepaw to reply. He still had to work as hard as he could, he had to be strong and focused like the deputy, Dragonfire. He would make his idol proud!
"Yep, we're both willing to help. There's too many cat's here for just your two paws." Rarepaw asked as she followed Lostpaw to Serenepaw. Griffonsea was shaking like a leaf. "Strange, I've never seen her that frightened." Rarepaw thought, her tail flicking in concern. She wasn't much the comforting type, and she had no idea what to do in this kind of situation. But she did feel sorry for the warrior. The shaking ground was frighting, and there was no way to stop it. It could scare even the most experienced warrior.

I heard a voice from behind, and memorized it enough to recognize it as Lostpaw."Mis-eyed Apprentice, I have no need for help at the moment," I meowed, almost tacitly. Another cat seemed to have followed Lostpaw, as another voice chirped in, Rarepaw's." Your duties of helping me are free." I murmured, not looking at the duo. There was not much to help Griffonsea anymore. Thyme and rest is all she needs right now. I thought to myself. I slightly looked in their direction and mewed," If you two want to help, you could try helping the elders. They may require your assistance. Or guard the injured" I suggested. It wasn't much but if something happened, she would want to be notified at all times. I looked back to the small warrior." Get rest, there's no more to fear." I mewed softly, stroking her flank.

"If gods the game that You're playing, well we must be more acquainted,"
[Oceanmist emerged from the deep forest and into the crowd of Seaclan cats. After leaving for Moonpool, the earthquake had begun. Was this the danger that was spoken of at the gathering? Possibly. I mean, cats were dying. First a flood, and now an earthquake. Oceanmist had gotten separated, and had to find her way back to camp. Realizing no one was there, she followed a few paw prints here and there, picked up some scents of her folk, and found herself at the riverside. Getting into the middle of the crowd, Oceanmist tried to get their attention.]
"Fellow Seaclan cats! I need to know if there are any injured cats! Although we are short on herbs, I will try my best to heal any of the injured. Please, even if you have a minor wound, tell me!"[She shouted, continuing her search for any injured cats. Finding her apprentice, Serenepaw, Oceanmist ran to her.]
"I trust that you gathered herbs? Or saved some from the medicine den? Please tell me you did, I'm empty pawed. And I doubt there are any herbs out there after the earthquake!"[The sleek blue-gray she-cat said, beginning to panic. If she had no herbs, she'd barely be able to help her fellow clanmates!]
"Because it must be so lonely, to be the only one who's holy."

I continued to run my tail gently along the back of the older cat, well, older to me. She wasn't an old old cat. Griffonsea seemed rather young, or she appeared it, atleast. I looked at her Brother, Freezeshadow. Those two seemed like major opposites, like his name, Freezeshadow seemed so cold and distant, well, this was how I perceived it. My eye's were brought back to the small female before me, my tail stopping, the fluffy tail returning to my hind-side, lying down, but not tucked. I twitched my black nose, taking in the scents. Griffonsea... she on the other hand. Seemed so willing to help, but also a bit frightened easily, as I thought at the moment considering what had just occured.A voice caught my attention, a worried one at that, I turned, seeing my Mentor, a rustic brown ear flattened against my head, as I stared at my Mentor, her asking me questions, as they bumbled into my head, straining around into my body, the earthquake had basically stopped by now, a soft rumbling under-paw, nothing major.
It hardly made a sound, and the birds seemed to begin to start chirping, squirrels remained still, afraid to bark and rush around, although I did hear a few claw scrabbles from a tree nearby, as squirrels passed by as quick as possible, hoping to not be seen by the larger predators. It then occured to me, that this female, before me. This gray-blue pelted female, my Mentor, had returned from the Moonpool. I stared at her blankly for a few moments. "Mentor..." I began, "I took care of the injured, and I was unable to save any herbs" I looked away, my green gaze tracing into the ground, a bit of shame passing over me, a feeling I didn't get often, shame wasn't a strong occurance to me. I looked back up to the green eyed female. "I got the Apprentices to help me, and Sandstripe, aswell as Kind-Warrior" I used that reference again, not addressing anyone by their real name, except for Sandstripe. "But, you're probably right, and they most likely will not be growing back for awhile, with the ground tore up, their roots had to come out, and they're likely crushed, correct? We could try to look for herbs... but prey will be low to, won't it?" I mewed to my Mentor, a bit worried about my clan. Well, that was a lie, I was a Medicine Cat, I was worried about my clanmates.
Through the trek to the River, Sandstripe felt the sun's warmth move from his right to his left. He looked around the River, and could see some damage. Rocks of all sorts of shapes and sizes were piled up and some trees were on the ground, showing minor signs of decay. He could somehow sense the gaze of Silversparrow going on him and indirectly, despite.looking at the ground in front of him. Silence overcame most of the trip there, except the singing of some birds which Sandstripe was grateful. It was hard to figure out what might provoke the gray and silver she-cat, and making her angry was the last thing he would ever want to do. As he finally arrived to the river, he looked around with a sharp gaze. There was many distracting, ambient noises that reached his ears. Gah, how am I suppose to hunt in such an environment? A quick, small shadow quickly ran the forest floor in front of him. His eyes spotted a small-looking water shrew rapidly biting into something whilst in the cover of a nearby bush. Moving into the hunting technique, he slowly crept nearer and nearer. An unfortunate event occurred, a small twig had managed to snap underneath one of his paws, alerting the shrew and allowed itself to get ready to run.Oh no you don't! With a tremendous amount of strength and agility of his forelegs, The brown tabby warrior flashed a few fox-lengths in front before quickly nipping it in its neck. What an embarrassing kill this is Sandstripe thought, gently grabbing the limpless body in between his teeth. He eventually returned to his hunting comrade with his measly-sized prey, dropping it between his paws." I think I need to borrow some of your luck Silversparrow." He meowed with an abashed joking tone.

Silversparrow laughed. "You don't need it. That was a great kill." She meowed to Sandstripe. "I never would've caught it after it slipped away like that, but you did..." Silversparrow trailed off as she spotted a finch pecking at the ground. It took her a moment to fall into hunting position, she was used to hunting at the river, which was a different position than land hunting, but it took her less time than usual, seeing as she was used to it from that morning at Sunrocks. Stalking the little bird, Silversparrow tread lightly over the rough ground, her eyes on the brown-green bird. Unfortunately the wind began blowing in her direction and the finch took off in flight before Silversparrow had a chance to pounce. Silversparrow sighed in disappointment.I look like an idiot. She thought to herself. That's apprentice stuff, not being scented.
Seaclan " The shrew was probably elderly. It--" Sandstripe cut himself off as the small, slender she-cat prepared her hunting position. He observed keenly on her technique, perfect. was the word to describe. The wind blew on his pelt ferociously for a quick second, like a bite from an enemy warrior. As he returned his gaze to Silversparrow, the bird was gone, with a disappointed expression on her face." Oh, that wasn't your fault Silverstripe." He meowed comfortingly, padding to her, side-by-side. His tail softly brushed her flank, hoping her mind would quickly get off the disheartening event." There's always a next time." Almost by coincidence, his nose smelt another thing lurking nearby." Two things nearby actually." He whispered to her ear, the two smells mingling in the air. He looked sharply to his right. A thrush pecked on some unknown substance. And a familiar scratching sound was somewhere near, making Sandstripe itching to grab it. A water vole was nearby." You get the one on your side, and I'll get the thrush on the right, alright?" The previous kill was quickly dug to mask its scent from other predators that may be lurking, ready to swipe while their backs were turned. He slowly moved away from Silversparrow, and cautiously set paw by paw silently as he closed in on this kill. This one might be small as well, but with my shrew, it can feed a warrior. He slowly stopped, almost a fox-length away, the bird mindlessly still pecking at the ground. . . . NOW! The tabby warrior sprang from his spot and dived in for the kill. He swiftly cuffed it in the neck, killing it instantly." Thank you Starclan, for this fresh-kill that has given its life for us." Murmuring his prayer to his ancestors above.

Silversparrow nodded. "Thanks, Sandstripe." She meowed. "I guess I used up all my luck this morning." She laughed, pawing the ground. She felt the soft comfort of her clanmates fur--a gesture of friendship. She didn't admit it, but she'd been more disappointed in herself than she had let on and the familiar feeling of another cat comforted her. Suddenly, the scent of two scents intermingled drifted past. A thrush and something else she couldn't identify. But the sound of scratching gave away what it was. A water vole. One of her personal challenges, she never could catch them. Great. The finch got away and this will too. Silversparrow watched as Sandstripe stalked the thrush, dropping into his hunting position. Realizing that the sound of him pouncing might alert the water vole, she crouched down a couple of fox lengths away, creeping toward the little animal. It had finally emerged from it's hole, sniffing around the ground. Slithering through the underbrush, she prayed the wind would be in her favor. At the last moment before the vole would spot her, she pounced, grabbing the vole with her claws and swiftly killing it. Clutching the animal in her mouth, she padded over to where Sandstripe was, also holding his shrew."We already have enough to feed two warriors!"Using her paw, she scraped away some dirt from the ground, and than buried the vole."Come on, let's keep going."Silversparrow flicked her tail in the direction of the river."We still haven't caught any fish and those are everycat's favorite."Her mouth started watering at the thought of the nice plump salmon she had shared with Sandstripe from that morning. It seemed ages away.
Seaclan Sandstripe felt a quick surge of vibration underneath his paws. A few moments had past and later, a flash of silver caught his eye." Right, some fish. I hope I get another salmon again." He replied with an elevated look on his face. Quickly, he buried his fresh-kill next to Silversparrow, quite content at the look. Almost forgetting, he dashed to his previous kills and dug them as well their new pieces."Okay, I think we're good. I think we've been collecting a lot of birds and voles lately anyways that Stormclan might think we're taking their kind of fresh-kill." The tabby joked. Seaclan was quite famous for eating mainly, and the fact their pelts were smooth and glossy. Eating woodland creatures were for the other cats of the wild. He trotted along the river, trying to look for a dark figure in the water. In the corner of his left eye, Sandstripe could see a dark figure moving about in the water, pushing against the river's current. Careful, he went into his fishing technique. He cleanly swiped out the fish and bit into it. It was a successful kill, but Sandstripe looked down at its size." I don't know if I'm too fat and I'm scaring away all the good prey out here or if Starclan wants me to work harder." He acted out dramatically, standing on his two forelegs and feinting a death, falling backwards on his back, amusingly." Hey Silversparrow, later, if rocks aren't still trying to kill us, do you want to head up to Sun Rocks later?" He meowed with a lazy tone. Looking up, the tree's leaves allowed a nice amount of sunlight to warm his fur but not blind him.

OOC: I hadn't realized we had to the do the random # generation when hunting, so I've just been doing it randomly. Have you been generating?
Silversparrow laughed. "I think the fish are just doing it to spite you." She joked. She chuckled again as Sandstrie fell backwards against the rocks and feinted a death. Stretching out, her claws scraping the rough rock, Silversparrow yawned. Being up since early that morning had really taken a toll on her. Silversparrow stopped yawning as Sandstripe asked her to join him at Sun Rocks later. "Sure, Sandstripe. Like to hunt...or just hang out?" Adding some more, Silversparrow quickly tried to relieve the tension in the air."I mean we probably have already caught enough prey and Sun Rocks is just warming up about now. We can bring the prey back to camp and than go to Sun Rocks." She finished quickly.
Seaclan " I mean, just to warm up our fur, relax by the water." Sandstripe responded with a carefree tone. Much stress was put on his body anyways. Serenepaw did recommend him to relax better for his leg. Noticing now, the pain had resumed its daily duty. The adrenaline from his hunt had gone and left him to the focusing of his leg. It bothered him, but not enough for him to take a breath to enjoy nature at one of its best. He rolled over on his belly and laid his jaw on his criss-crossed paws, almost as if he was ready to sleep." We probably did good enough." Sandstripe agreed to the latter. He stood off and shook the leg awake." Prey does not simply replenish." He mused. He slowly trotted to where he placed his caught fresh-kill and dug it up. He looked around, hoping there was some cobwebs that Serenepaw asked him to get later. The sky became darker, deteriorating his vision slowly. He managed to find a familiar-looking herb and gently took it. Sandstripe could no longer speak, as the meager-sized fresh-kill and herb occupied his mouth. Returning to Silversparrow, he gently nudged on her flank, signaling that he was ready to go with a content day's hunting. [Edit]: The sky eventually became dark and the forest became increasing shadier. As Sandstripe began to walk slowly, he could feel his wariness increase as the warmth of his pelt grew. Sending a silent prayer to Starclan, and his mother with them, he sorrowfully wished for something to help guide his way. It reminded him of the nights after his mother had died; cold, damp... empty. Almost as if it had been answered, a small, luminescent, source lighted his pelt. The lights began to appear in a sporadic fashion, quelling Sandstripe's anxiety. He stopped and looked behind to his friend. Silversparrow's pelt gleamed in the starlit forest. She's so... dazzling. Sandstripe looked at her with awe and quickly looked away. He dropped one of the small pieces of prey to allow proper speech." Umm... I think it's too dark to go to Sun Rocks. We should head back."

~GM Post~
Setting:
The Reference book has been updated, but in summary, it is MORNING on MAY the 25th (1 week timeskip). It is CLOUDY, but it is not RAINING. Tonight is the FULL MOON, but right now it is MORNING.
Situational:
Dragonfire has arranged for a HUNTING PATROL in the river. Players feel free to join. State in your post that Dragonfire ordered you to come if you want to join.
Dragonfire quickly checks to make sure the patrol is approaching the river so that their shadows are behind them as they walk towards the water. She pads quietly over to a section of the river, her eyes reflecting the rippling water. She invites everyone to pick a spot with a twitch of her whiskers.
Kindsoul stepped up to the water with Dragonfire's motion, sitting so her shadow wouldn't scare away the fish, as she was taught during her apprentice training not that long ago. She kept her eyes peeled for the small silver shimmering shapes in the water, until she saw one close enough.
She was so happy to be out of the camp, though she didn't want to admit it. She didn't want to believe anyone in her beloved clan could be betraying them, and she refused to think of any of them like that. Until she saw one of her clan-mates betraying them, she simply would not believe it.
Water splashed up onto her nose, and she realized she'd been so deep in though she'd missed a fish jump right on front of her. "Sorry Dragonfire." She muttered, looking sheepish, and made herself focus on the task at paw.
