cleared out my raised bed today. Put away the tools for the winter and moved my herbs inside.

I, too, cleaned up my patio pots. I trimmed back a bunch of irises. I hope they had enough sun this season to produce flowers next. We got snow today, so I took all my pots and put them together. Weather wise, I'll burlap them and tuck them in for the season. I'm a lot more confident that they'll make it through the winter. I repotted them about a month ago and gave them some nice new soil and some nice new mushroom compost.

Fed the birds lots today too. I pick out almonds from the mix and place them individually on the railing. Today one of the jays was a bit anxious and grabbed the nut right out from my hand. They were eating when I was doing my work, so I think they're not that afraid of me. One little guy's leg is a nub. I hope it doesn't get infected. He seems to be doing really well though. The other guy has a weird beak - short upper beak and a long curved lower. Doesn't seem to bother him.

Also made some jerky. It's still in the oven and should be done in about three hours. I hope it tastes good as I have not been able to find any good beef jerky - not even at Whole Foods!

My boyfriend is back! It was a long week. I was scared of the dark and had to sleep with the lights on and the cats were misbehaving beyond belief.

Boyfriend got me presents: undies (it's so hard to find plain cotton bikini undies that don't have grrl pwr all over or leopard print), two pairs of jeans (boot leg and stove pipe) two pairs of jammies (which I desperately needed) and tea (lemon grass, dandelion and genmaicha green tea). As much as I loved having the bed to myself with out Snorey McSnoresalot, I'm going to enjoy having him there. Plus, he can put up my pony shelf and put cream on my back. whee

Your avatar is lovely! Orange is a very underrated colour. I might pick up knitting myself one day. So many pretty patterns. ninja

No worries! The guild is pretty slow. emo I never realized kale was a cold weather plant. It's delicious.

Just bopping around myself. I've had dizzy spells all week which have just be great. Our house contents will arrive next week which is fabulous. Arriving will be my dressers which I can then put my clothes in. It was suppose to arrive tomorrow, but it was pushed back. I can't wait to get my washer and dryer. I miss them so much.

oh ho, thank you! I mostly have to thank this past Halloween's items.

Orange is very underrated.

Knitting an become addictive, once you make it pass the trials of learning the basics. I've been knitting nonstop since September. I've learned more these past few months than my previous 22 years.

@ Oriole Lyric : I'm the same with crochet! I learned over fifteen years ago and all I did since then was double crochet. With YouTube and Raverly I've really expanded on different stitches.

On Sunday I found a dolphin on the side of the road. I had to guilt trip my boyfriend to turn around and go back to get him. He's very sad and I'm sad that he was lost. I put up a Craigslist post to see if I can reunite him with his family.

It snowed last night. A bunch of idiot tourists with summer tires ended up in the ditch. I hope they get fined for being idiots. It's really dangerous to drive without proper tires. Plus there's only one road so if there's someone in the ditch it can take you literally hours to get somewhere that normally takes ten minutes. One idiot was in the ditch just outside our complex.

As usual I fed the birds this morning. I video'd it:
http://youtu.be/tRWaofrJrUs - when I first go out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbmAT5XFTJo - After I put out all the food. The bird that flies real close to the right is Nubbies, the pegged leg Jay. I think he's kinda mean or drunk because he flies real close to my head, and not in the friendly way. I feel like he's going to crash into me.

We were suppose to get our house contents on Saturday. Saturday was sunny, so of course they did not come. They'll probably come tomorrow (but haven't called us to let us know) or Wednesday, both of which are suppose to be miserable weather. I'm just going to be so happy to have dressers to put my clothes in.

My favorite game is closing, so everyone is sad. I've been playing for over a year so it will be hard to adjust.

We're also adjusting to a schedule that mixes morning and overnight shifts, and it's horrible. We woke up today just as it got dark (5pm) and have to be awake until 11am. I'm already super bored. My husband is covering a medical leave of indeterminate time. We have no idea whatsoever how long we will have to live like this.

Voiceless-Memories has something to say...

What did I do today? I worked for ten hours
What I'm doing tonight? Organizing my closet and putting books in my underbed storage. I have soooo many books, they're starting to take over my room. That and yarn. My obsessions are gonna overthrow me one of these days

...Voiceless-Memories is now done talking

@ rilsin-b: Which game is that? I've done shifts like that, and yes, they're hard. I hope you find your groove soon. heart

@ Voiceless-Memories Books are awesome. Have you tried eReaders? They won't replace certain books, but for novels I find they are fantastic.

@ Oriole Lyric: I live in British Columbia. :3

Those are Steller's Jays. I also have two gray jays. I usually only see them on the weekends. I saw them sitting outside this afternoon and went out to feed them. They're so friendly. Both ate out of my hand.

--

I went to a fair today and bought a reversible headband from some school kids. Apparently they had a business class in school and broke off into groups to create businesses. The fair had a little section for them. Good stuff. I really like my headband.

I have finally caught up on laundry. I had a pile waiting for my new machines. (Not really new, but I haven't used them for years as they were in storage. The previous machine was from 1985 and could wash maybe two pairs of jeans.) Slowly going through the boxes. Gave a bunch of stuff away, mostly a bunch of clothes that don't fit properly or that we never wear. I don't like clutter, but then I hate only having the bare minimum. Haven't found a balance yet.

We also got a decent snow fall. This will be our first winter in a car, so it's going to be interesting. My boyfriend backed into a snowdrift as well as the snow marker.

Never heard of it until now. I couldn't find any screen shots, but the artwork made it really interesting looking. Too bad there's no easy way to convert Flash to HTML5 or whatever runs on smart phones.
