So I've been talking with some friends of mine, and I've been thinking about getting an airsoft gun. My friend thinks I should get a sniper rifle, and I've always been fond of sniping in video games, so why not in real life? I've been doing some light searching and I think this is the product Im going to get.

It pretty much comes with everything I need for the gun itself. Other than that, I guess I would need a sidearm(because CQC with a sniper rifle doesn't sound like it would work out for EITHER of the players. A sniper round, even a small plastic BB, at that range will probably hurt like hell for a few days, and you only get one shot off, so the sniper gets pumped full of plastic balls.), some ACU's or BDU's, and a ghillie suit! Oh yeah, a ghillie suit. No sniper is complete without it. I can imagine all the fun I would have even without the gun and just a ghillie suit. Mabye some face paint too! XD Oh all the stares I would get from people on the street. It would truly be a sight!
Anyone got any suggestions for other stuff?
Oh, almost forgot, Ill definately need to add eyeprotection to my list...probably protection for the rest of my face to(though Im afraid a mask would get in the way of the scope when Im sniping)
Then all thats left is to find some woods nearbye, drag my buddies there, and then hunt them down like the prey they are...mabye play Extreme Hide and Seek.

Ok forget that earlier sniper rifle, I found a better one. The JG BAR-10. Apparently its the best one for its price. It costs little and is completely upgradable. It apparently with a few simple modifications can easily reach 500fps, and thats without buying anything new to upgrade it. Apparently with upgrades you can get this thing to go up to 250 feet easily with .28 pellets O_o Sounds like the best damn deal I've heard of all day.
EDIT: OK forget what I just said. Not 5 minutes after posting this I realised the BAR-10 was a clone of the Marui VSR10, which is ten times better...though about $100 dollars more. Then again, who can argue with awesomeness?
Bah, gonna have to cut down on all the other stuff for this. Gonna have to wait for that Ghillie.

Yup biggrin Reason being?
Paintball is messy, the guns look crappy(Im going for a realistic look here. I might just eventually get some WWII replica guns at some point if I ever get really into Airsoft, but thats a big if. Chances are, I would more than likely spend most of my airsoft budget on modifying the sniper rifle I plan on getting so its even better) and the projectiles are bigger.
With airsoft you can weir getups such as BDU's, ACU's, reinactment gear, Ghillies, and so forth without having to worry about paint ruining them. Airsoft guns also are more diverse. You have everything from sniper rifles to assault rifles. From grenade launchers to claymores. From Miniguns to...you get my drift.
Oh and the Pellets are cheaper, or so I've heard.
Paintball just seems more childish to me...for some reason. It looks more like your playing an arcade game than your acctually in a warzone. Its messy laser tag.
Airsoft has a more realistic feel, concidering it is often played in woods or other remote areas. Heck, some airsoft campaigns littereally go on for days, where the people eat sleep and fight all in one designated area
But really Im getting ahead of myself. Its not a done deal, I haven't officially stated Im getting an airsoft gun. Its a "Im concidering it, because it looks awesome" kinda thing.
