It's like a spear and an axe...combined!
A glaive was specifically designed to be a "jack-of-all-trades" weapon. It had the stopping power for infantry, but had a hook and point for dismounting cavalry and then finishing them off with a fast sharp strike weapon, such as a dagger or sword.
...
I like medieval stuff...

Nonono, I wasn't complaining about you calling it the United Kingdom, I call it England myself. I was complaining about how crappy England has become lately.
