Another similar situation happened when I found out Quatre's VA played Light/Raito in Death Note.
Although I didn't do a facepalm, my reaction was more like: o.O;

Silent Soldier 03 Another similar situation happened when I found out Quatre's VA played Light/Raito in Death Note. Although I didn't do a facepalm, my reaction was more like: o.O; I know a lot of people were gagging at the notion that Brad was doing Light's voice, but I think it's kind of fitting. And I like that it's a departure for the VA. You have to admit that the characters are very different... Plus he uses that evil laugh a lot more. It gives me chills! 4laugh

I don't watch dubs very much anymore, but knowing that Quatre's VA plays Light is actually more of an incentive for me to watch the dub.

The Death Note dub is actually very well done.
And I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned the fact that Brian (Zechs) plays Ryuk. XD

There was a Fandom!Secret (in the LJ group of the same name) about that that was really hilarious; it was basically a picture of Light & Ryuk with Quatre & Zechs' heads pasted over them. xd
I have it saved on my laptop at home; I'll post it later.

I am still alive in this guild... I think...
Anyway, I just had to post my excitement, I FINALLY got to meet Mark Hildreth after 7 long years! The only kicker, I forgot the book I was collecting Gundam Wing voice actor autographs in >.< Oh the pain of being in a rush, however I printed off a Heero picture and put it in the book when I got back, it's not the same, but I can use the excuse that Heero is ellusive and doesn't associate much with the other pilots so he's not in the book with them, as an excuse to make myself feel better >> <<. I am not crazy, I swear sweatdrop
No, I was actually surprised with how down to earth and kind he was. When I met him and told him how long I had been waiting to meet him he gave me a big hug and told me he was pleased to see me too. I mean, I know that was a put on because I was a fan, but I still thought it was rather sweet. Mark's also incredibly hillarious too... I think I just thought he would be a little reclusive because he goes to so few anime conventions, I was convinced he was terrified of the fandom. There was a huge inside joke going around though that he avoided conventions due to Scott McNeil... There was apparently an incident a few years ago where Mark was talking to some people in a panel and Scott came up to him, then proceeded to pretend making out with him. When a fan asked Mark to confirm this he jokingly went along with it and hillarity at Scott's expense ensued for the rest of the panel rofl
The only thing I was super disappointed about was missing his concert at the convention. However I had a large and moderately cranky group that I needed to cart to and from my mother's house, and they didn't want to see it, so I missed out. Hopefully if he's at another con I attend he'll perform again and I will get to hear it. I have been informed that he's an amazing musician so I really don't want to miss out on that again.
Heh, so that's about all of my exciting Gundam Wing news after months of inactivity here. *ish bricked*

I am really glad I got to meet him too, it was a major thrill for me. I am wondering what ever happened to Ted Cole (Wufei's Voice Actor). I have looked him up on the web and what not, but haven't seen nor heard much activity from him. When I look up his name on convention websites as well, it looks like he's only been to like 5 max, and that was when Gundam Wing was at it's most popular. He's even more elusive than Mark Hildreth was. I might have to scan the net again, because I am not sure if he has done anything since Gundam Wing. Of course we all know that Scott McNeil, Kirby Morrow, and Brad Swaile are trucking along as voice actors, and I am actually pretty sure that Mark Hildreth is as well... but whatever happened to Ted Cole, has he moved on?
@Hawaiian_Gurl: Awww, I am really sorry that Scott has never made it down to Kawaii con. Perhaps it is just too much money for the convention staff to pay for his flight down there... since I think it's the convention that pays for the guest's expenses so long as their schedule permits them to be there. However, I am not sure of that so don't quote me on it. Scott is pretty popular too... perhaps the next time you get to Kawaii con bring it up with one of the convention staff, ask if he ever has been invited, or if other fans have said that they want to meet him.
