It was how life seemed to be ever since she had escaped from her one prison and fled into another surrounded by water. With her background in cooking quite large she had very little trouble adjusting, but Ishitari's hops were far above the title she held of "Apprentice Chef". To calm her troubled mind the youth set out on yet another stroll throughout the town. Entef chirped above her, busy flapping his wings on top of her head while sometimes pecking at a stray juicy looking insect that happened to stray too close. Her white cloak thrown around her, her bracelets jangled in the wind while the pre teen strolled throughout the town with her head hung low in thought. Her walk was soon interrupted as she ran head first into a black wall of cloth. Entef flapped his wings and flew upwards in a not so majestic move as Ishitari fell to the ground. Looking up at the man she had ran into, her eyes observed him. A rather royal and regal looking aura surrounded the boy. Had she any extensive knowledge of this place she would have mistaken him for a noble. "My apologies." She said in a thick Bahtavan accent and picking herself up. Entef perched back on on her hand as the young merlin ruffled his feather after the disturbance. He looked up at Jace and would keep his eyes on him, chirping still.

                                                                                  OOC NOTES [x]

As Jace had been looking for the location in question, he saw surprised when out of nowhere he felt something bump into him as he stumbled himself but managed to stop from falling. Regaining his balance, and composure at the suddenness of this when he had been deliberately trying to avoid this, he turned to face his assailant while masking the annoyance he felt. However, as he looked he did not see anyone at first...until he looked down. On the ground was a rather short girl, wearing a large white cloth and having some jewelry on her. That in itself wasn't strange, but as she began to rise he noticed she was not wearing shoes. Jaces face briefly had confusion on it for that moment before going back to neutral as he pondered it. 'Why would she be barefoot in a place such as this? Its absolutely filthy.' He thought to himself. He would've offered to help her but found she had already risen to her feet. As she apologized, he noticed a small bird perch on her hand and seemed to stare at him. As it chirped, Jace couldn't help but think it was cute.

"Apology accepted Miss, and I am sorry as well that this happened. I could have positioned myself in a place that would have been far more remote but if ill suited for my purposes. You really should watch where you are going though, crowds here are not very forgiving." Jace would respond, giving her a polite yet friendly smile. Seeing how short she was in comparison, and how young she looked, his annoyance from earlier faded. She had also apologized, so to him things were forgiven for those specific reasons. As he thought about it, looking at the bird and her, he would speak again. "What a beautiful little bird you have there.Oh, I am Jace Willem by the way. May I inquire yours and ask for assistance in a small matter? I am looking for Mr. Belacrux's shop, but cannot seem to find it." He would say, falling back to his old formal training but deciding he should also ask for help in the matter. He also felt he should comment about the bird, finding it to be a beautiful creature and hoped that would help improve relations between them.

Ishitari began the process of dusting herself off after the fall. while listening to the man who had run into her speak. A proper way of speaking with quite the amount of prose going on. She could only watch and listen while he continued. To be honest he sort of rambled and she lost interest in what he said but came back for the end point though! "You really should watch where you are going though, crowds here are not very forgiving." Ishi returned the smile with one of her own. It seemed like the accident didn't leave any harmed feelings or sour moods in its wake, which was always a good ending in her book. "Yes, I'll be more careful here. My head was just in the clouds, as they say here." The conversation shifted to her companion, Entef. The bird chirped yet again while hopping on top of the girl's head. He appeared to have a keen interest in their new friend here.

"What a beautiful little bird you have there."

"Yes. His name is Entef, a young merlin. They're not native to these lands." She held the bird up for the man to have a closer look at him. Entef himself was busy hopping around and busy tilting his head at his observer who soon introduced himself as Jace. Ishitari recoiled her hand before placing her right hand over her heart and bowing her head for a moment. "Well met. I am Ishitari. I've come a few months ago from Bahtavan. It's nice to meet you." With the two having exchanged introductions, Jace seemed to be in need of assistance with something.

"I am looking for Mr. Belacrux's shop, but cannot seem to find it."

Her smile only widened for show, she was still quite cautious of this man. "I can lead you to his shop. Come." She said before continuing forward while keeping an eye on Jace to make sure he didn't lose her or try to stab her in the back.

                                                                                  OOC NOTES [x]

As the young girl cleaned herself off of whatever debris or dust may have accumulated on her from her fall, Jace noticed her return a smile to him as she responded. She would agree with him before saying her head was in the clouds, a typical greeting, though she added as they say here to the end of it. This briefly intrigued Jace as he wondered where she may be from, and was slightly relieved that they may have the same footing here in being outsiders. 'Though if she hails from an obscure land that may be worse as I would know even less about her culture.' He silently thought to himself. The fact that she was barefoot as well did not bode well for his hopes in his mind. But he could always cling to the faint hope that it would not be so.

His attention was then grabbed by the bird from earlier hopping onto the young maidens head, seemingly as interested in Jace as Jace was with him. She would introduce him as Entef and call him a merlin, saying he was not from these lands. Not having studied on animals, at all really, and never having a pet growing up, Jace could not truly picture where this type of bird would originate from. It could very well be in the capital of Valor for all he knew. Still, he found the animal intriguing thought a thought crept into his mind. 'How many people have pet birds?' He wondered to himself, her being the second person he encountered with a pet and both had a bird companion. She would then hold the bird up to him for a closer look. Jace had not been expecting such a thing and only through his formal training he managed to resist taking a step back. The bird seemed very energetic and would tilt his head as if he was studying her. He wondered at what the intellect of it would be, as though he knew the expression of bird brain, this bird seems to display some sign of intellect to study him. 'Or perhaps I am giving it far too much credit and it is merely mimicking its master.' He thought to himself, feeling slightly silly for attributing so much intellect to it.

It was then that Jace's attention would return to the girl as she introduced herself in a way he had not seen before. She placed her right hand over her heart and bowed to him, introducing herself as Ishitari and saying she came from Bahtavan. "The pleasure is mine." He would say in a calm tone. His mind raced slightly as he pondered the given information. It was a particularly formal bow, so was she a commoner herself? Was it custom in her lands for everyone to greet others in such a manner? These questions raced through his head as he thought of Bahtavan. He knew a little of them but not much and though his family did have business there at times it was escaping his mind onto the nature and who the contacts were. The culture itself wasn't even in his memory as far as he could tell. Before he voiced any of his questions, she said she knew where the shop he was seeking existed and so he followed after her. "I am afraid I know little of Bahtavan, so I am at a loss for any extra common greetings for your people. I would be glad to be enlightened on it, as well as on how it is over there. I myself hail from Langfrey and would answer any respective questions you may have." Jace said in a polite yet friendly tone. As he followed her, he noticed she kept him within her sights as she led the way, probably to make sure he did not get lost which he appreciated. It was rare in his mind to find someone so helpful and kind in town. "You have my gratitude for aiding me in this endeavor." He would add, sincerity in his voice.

Jesse had to admit she was a little disappointed that Rin didn't seem to want to join her in a run, but with energy to burn, the Fennec Child didn't let that stop her - Darting off ahead, she would run a few metres before pausing to allow her fellow shifter to catch up.

She would continue on like this for a while before eventually giving in and returning to her human from... Maybe a nice stroll would be better? The weather was great for it afterall! They wouldn't go into too much detail about themselves as they made their way down to the Market District, the occasional question regarding one another's choice of classes and where they'd come from certainly helped pass the time though,

"There are quite a few stalls around here we could look through," she would glance ahead, her ears swiveling forward as she tried to control her excitement, "Or if you have the coin, perhaps something tailor made...?" it had been a while since she'd checked in with Leo - a while not actually being all that long as the last time she'd worked there had only been a few days ago, but it was a thought at least, "I nearly always go there now, Leonora's clothes are so wonderful!" she would turn and start walking backwards, gesturing with her hands, "The fabrics are soo comfortable and because it's tailor-made, they fit perfectly!" She would walk like this for a while before turning round after stumbling and narrowly avoiding ending up on her butt... How inspiring for a friendship that would be? Proving how much of a clutz she could be at times... "Anyhoo, we're nearly there," she would find herself skipping ahead a little as they finally reached the market, turning back towards the Husky with a grin as she waited for her roommate to catch up.

~ Rin entered the Market District Streets ~

In all honesty, it was almost painful for Rin to hold herself back from running around in her Shifter form alongside her roommate, to keep herself composed, not wanting a crack in her shell to show... Her brother was the only one she could trust... And to a lesser extent her adoptive parents. "Leonara huh..." She'd repeat. Honestly? The idea of the place was incredible and she could practically IMAGINE the outfits they'd have in stock. Rin clenched her hands into fists as she resisted letting even a smile through, trying to distract herself by glancing around to try and spot something else to focus one. But even the carefree behaviour Jesse displayed... It was tempting to join in.

"So do you... Know my brother?" Thinking about it, it appeared back in Knit Class that Gin was familiar with this excitable fox, she was curious to know more... And would be careful to make sure her curiosity wasn't too obvious. For the time being she would follow Jesse around and listen to her in silence throughout their day... When it finally came to it Catherine would bid the Fox farewell and inform her that she would not be returning to the dorm tonight.

The Fennec Child had no idea how hard it was for Rin to resist wanting to join her - she just couldn't help but want to run around, there was just so much energy to burn and with a free day ahead of them, there were so many possibilities!

She had to admit, Catherine baffled her somewhat - they seemed similar in age, but they appeared to be so very different, the fact the girl was just so quiet, how she seemed to resist the urge to just transform and run around with her...she wouldn't hold it against the other girl though! Some people were just quiet - perhaps needed time to adjust - at least she seemed interested in what the Fox had to say.

"Oh, I've shared a class with Gin for a while now, we never talked much at the start, but we had so much fun running around the other day," she recalled how they had enjoyed a little game of chase around the courtyard, vaulting benches and generally having a great time!

As the day progressed, Jesse would quite happily tell her fellow Shifter all about the people she knew - and even a few she'd only recently met, like the Tiger she'd run to the opening ceremony with the other day, she hoped she'd run into him again - it was so much fun running around with other shifters, Jesse just hoped one day she and her roommate would do the same.

It was a shame that Catherine wouldn't be returning to their dorm that evening, but at least she'd be able to see her again in their Knit Class the following morning, right? Without loosing an inch of her chipper nature, the Fennec Child would bit her 'friend' goodbye and return to her dorm at the end of the day.

Sarai is worried. How could she get so caught up with her duties that she could not spend time with Emma? The guilt that she feels inside will be nothing compared to how upset the bartender will be. There is no way she can see her today. However, she will have to spend the little time that she has left today to prepare for the next time that they will meet. Sarai shall start in the market district and look around for gifts that may soften Emma up a bit before she delivers her apology and lays on her charm. There probably will not be any promises made because she does not want to disappoint the lovely bartender in the future. All she can do is try harder next time, but that may not be good enough. This is why she is worried. What if this is the last draw for Emma? Sarai cannot imagine living this life without her after sharing much joy, laughter and precious moments with each other. For now, she has to push those worried thoughts and feelings out of her hand. There is a whole market to explore with plenty of gift ideas that may work.

Well, after his little excursion the other day, it was back to patrolling the city in his role as a Guard. The day would start like any other in the job, he'd rise early, run a few laps of the training yard, have a go at beating on some of the dummies before heading in for a well deserved shower...

Once he was clean and freshly-dressed, Cyrus would don his guard uniform and make his way down to the Marketplace. He still had a lot on his mind, but the day was a new one and there was bound to be someone getting up to no good somewhere...and even if there wasn't, with a Free Day on the cards for the students, he was bound to run into a familiar face or two on his rounds.

Ensuring nobody else had put in to guard the Market District Streets, the Tiger would head off, drawing a deep breath as he was met with the vast array of fascinating scents as he finally reached his destination.

As a guard, it didn't feel right to just stand in one spot, so the Shifter would begin with a few circuits of the main marketplace itself before setting himself up opposite some of the stalls for a while. His ears ever listening, the man would appear to be quite relaxed to those who passed him by, but in reality, he was waiting for any 'key words' to catch his attention and if they did, he planned to drop the calm composure and spring into action wherever he was needed.

    Aldaine De’Fraye

As Aldaine made his way through the town, he kept to himself, choosing to avoid large crowds. He needed somewhere quiet and solitary. Perhaps Serene Tops would have been the best location, but the Jaguar didn’t feel like making the trip to the mountain twice in the same week, as beautiful and calming as it was. So, he continued making his way through town. As he walked, tried as he might, he couldn’t get the issue with the Lord Marshal out of his head, still unable of what he was going to do. He recalled a series of thoughts he’d had the previous night, he barely got any sleep because of it. He’d considered the possibility of actually looking into the matter independently. Only problems with that were, he had no idea where to start looking and no idea who could be watching him or who he could trust. if Reynard were to find out, the fox would have the jaguar’s hide for sure, though that was the least of Aldaine’s concerns. What truly troubled him was, if he did decide to independently investigate, what if he got too deep? What id he ended up endangering others because of it? No, independent investigation was out of the question, whatever this was, he wouldn’t be able to solve it alone. Ob the battlefield fighting is simple, because your opponent was right in front of you. But fighting shadows? Chasing rumours? That was another thing entirely…

The jaguar shifter was snapped out of his train of thought as he managed to successfully dodge a wolf running past him. Aldaine huffed a bit “Hmph…damn kids… Wolf was a young shifter, he doubted anyone would have let a wild wolf into the city. Continuing on for another while, another shifter, a husky, run past him, heading in the same direction as the wolf from before. She was also a shifter. Aldaine had to admit, he was a bit baffled as to what their hurry was. However, he did notice that the two of them had a look of…worry, anxiety, panic? Ordinarily he’d have brushed it off as it was none of his business, but the look in the female's eyes who had passed him just now had hit him…Something was up…his gut was sure of it. A few moments later, looked up to notice…was that as woman in the air?! She had headed off in the same general direction as the two youngsters beforehand. Now Aldaine was concerned. If someone’s life was in danger, then he had a duty as a city guardsman to act. Running into a wide back alley, he shifted into his jaguar form and managed to manoeuvre his way to the rooftops to get a better view. While he could see the two kids anywhere, he could see the blonde-haired woman clear as day. Deciding not to waste any time, he bolted across the rooftops, giving chase to the woman in order to find out where she was headed. Whether she was a concerned citizen or the cause of the problem, Aldaine had to act in case someone was in need…

What was this...? Another free day? Tala had to admit he'd been grateful to have avoided another close call in Beginner's Combat, but he knew the time would come when he'd have to face someone head to head in a physical altercation - there was no hiding from it and as he hauled himself out of bed and threw on whatever clothes were closest, his mind would drift back to what he'd said to Nanashi when he'd wandered over and requested they partner up for a sparring match...

What was I thinking? he frowned as he recalled how he'd offered to maybe pair up with the male in the following lesson...did he want his butt kicked?? Shaking the thought from his mind, he just hoped it would be quick and relatively painless...

Finding himself something to eat, Tala decided he'd take the day away from the Academy for once... It was bad enough that he'd spent much of his time drifting between the Library and other quiet locations during his free time but everything seemed to be one big wait - Mulling over how to pass the day whilst waiting for some sign that Baba and the Elder were making their move... If he was honest, it had been invigorating to actually get out and away from his lessons, training his Raiment and his skills in a more Real-Life setting - rather than in the 'Safe' and somewhat 'Protected' perimeters that were the Academy walls...

If only he could get a handle on his less than favourable 'no-touchy' issue... It was really starting to hold him back when it came to lessons and interacting with others - and if anything, he knew he would never reach his true potential if something as Silly as being afraid of Physical Contact got him over stressed and running rather than fighting back... Wasn't that why the Old Witch had advised him to take the class in the first place...?

With all these thoughts swirling through his mind, Tala wasn't surprised how far he'd come and soon realised he was practically in the centre of the marketplace... "How the heck did I get here?" he can't have been that deep in thoughts? But as he realised how close the growing crowds were getting, he couldn't help but beat a hasty retreat towards one of the lesser-populated areas...

"...Idiot." Cursing himself for not paying attention to his surroundings, the Shadowmancer would gather himself before casting his eyes over the civilians as they started to go about their daily business...

Leaning against the wall he folded his arms, heterochromic eyes flicking between all that moved whilst his keen hearing took in the world around him, partial conversations from passers by, the shouts from vendors eager to sell their goods...the clucking of chickens? Overhead, birds skipped in-between the roof tiles, chirping away merrily whilst somewhere in the distance he swore he could hear music playing...

His mind flicked back to how Zael had reminded him how fascinating it was to 'People-watch' - Provided they kept their distance and didn't try to squeeze through the tiniest of gaps between him and the safe-feeling barriers such as walls or buildings, then he was fine... So having placed himself in the shade of one of the less-frequented barriers - namely a quiet store, Tala felt quite safe to stand and watch as the world passed him by.

Jace awoke determined. He had been debating and thinking on it for several days now, asking people in the academy and seeing the various pets around there. Even going to the library briefly to read up on the various animals available. He was determined to get one today, if only to see why everyone enjoyed it so. He still did not know which he would want to get, as there was far more than he had expected that fell under the category of pets. He had only thought dogs and cats counted for it, but apparently there was a whole list of them. Way more than he could hope to learn to care for before deciding on any. He was currently leaning towards a cat, but he was very much unsure and undecided. With all that in mind, he had speedily gone through the process of getting ready for the day, noting Eko had already gone ahead of him. He had yet to sit him down for a talk, but he could understand. Things were far busier than he had imagined they would be.

Jace strode through the market streets in his typical poised manner but well away from the main stream of the crowd. He had been coming here more often than he had ever expected to, no matter how much he hated the area. Going off a rumor, and asking around a lot, he had found that no one knew of a pet store that existed here. Which was an odd thoughts as he had already met so many people with pets, albeit ones that were from their home lands. Still, he found it strange that a place as busy like this would not have one, especially with how many animals he did see around when he went into town. Reaching the square, and standing out quite a bit due to his more regal like clothing, he would search around for a shop or anything of the like. He had not remembered one before, but then he had not been able to find one on his own and was shown it did in fact exist.

As he was gazing about, Jace noticed another figure standing relatively isolated in a nearby shop, away from the main hustle and bustle of the streets. He didn't seem particularly busy, and unlike the others he may have a decent sense of manners. 'Not to mention I would prefer to be as far away from these crowds as possible.' Jace thought to himself. Though he had made it this far, he knew not how to proceed from here. He did not see any visible shop for such a thing, so maybe this person would know? He didn't seem like the bad sort as far as he could tell. Circumventing the crowd as best he could, he would slowly make his way to the person. Slow was an understatement, as trying to find a way around the crowd without going through it took some time. Finally, past the crowd, he slowly and purposefully strode towards the individual. In a polite and formal tone, he would speak after a short bow. "Greetings. I am sorry to disturb you, but would you happen to know of a place here that sells pets? I have been looking but have had no luck thus far. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated." Jace would say, speaking calmly and sounding sincere in his words.

Having stood there for a while now, just watching the morning wanderings of both civilian and student alike, Tala hadn't necessarily been oblivious to Jace's presence - perhaps spotting him a little earlier on before he'd begun his excursion around the crowd? But it wasn't until the male had actually opened his mouth to address him personally - approaching from an angle the Shadowmancer hadn't currently been watching - that Tala's gaze would flick towards the male in a perhaps more narrowed fashion...?

His initial glare wasn't necessarily a look as if to say 'Who do you think you are, talking to me?' as Tala's expression would lighten slightly as he recognised the male from one of his classes, but he certainly hadn't expected anyone to actually speak to him...well, except for that one guard in particular whom he'd already set his eyes on twice that morning and moved at least once to avoid...

"A pet store?" Tala would tilt his head, his eyes glancing off at an angle in thought, "Do we actually have one of those?" he was genuinely uncertain, having never seen such a location in the Marketplace before - not that he really frequented the District all that often...

"I think I heard someone selling chickens earlier - still living ones, if that's what you meant?" having sworn he'd heard clucking, Tala was almost certain they were alive...for now at least. Still, he would quirk an eyebrow and wait patiently for the male's reply, finding himself actually quite curious at the thought before wondering what it would be like if he perhaps got himself a pet...? At this point, he didn't even ponder what the Witch would think if she found out - she may be his 'guardian' but he was certain she only really sought him out when she wanted something... It was certainly something he might just consider though...what with the dorm being just his at the time after his latest roommate appeared to have pulled out?

Though Jaces expression remained the careful polite mask it typically was, he noted the persons briefly narrowed gaze upon his arrival. It was very brief, as his expression softened soon after, but there nonetheless. 'Is it because I disturbed his relative solitude or just the general dislike people here seem to have for me?' Jace pondered to himself. It wasn't the most hostile of responses he had ever received in his time here. As he wondered on it, a small familiarity dawned on him. He had this nagging sense of familiarity in the back of his mind but had ignored it until he heard him speak. 'Was he in the combat class?' Jace questioned himself. He had been exhausted and out of it that day, and so had been far less perceptive than he usually was. But that bright patch of hair seemed a bit familiar to him, so there was a possibility. He did notice his yellow eyes, well he assumed the other was as he did not have a clear view of it, which was unfamiliar. But then, he was not near enough for the person he was thinking of to have seen their eyes regardless. He would not mention it himself, in case he were wrong, but he kept it in mind.

Unfortunately, it seem Jace disturbing the man may have been in vain. He apparently had never even considered it to be a possibility for there to be one here by his reaction alone, so he doubtless knew not where a location for it lay. Which was disappointing, as it would mean more asking around. Or perhaps giving in to the thought that there simply was not one in this town which seemed the strangest thing to consider of all. He was about to apologize to the man and part ways when he mentioned a chicken vendor. Though Jace's hopes plummeted behind his mask at the mention of it, a small thought did come from him mentioning it. 'If they sell chickens, perhaps they sell other animals too?' Jace reasoned to himself. In truth trying to keep his faint hope of it existing alive. Trying to capture a wild animal was no small feat from what he read, even more challenging to try and domesticate an animal. If he was apt enough to even find one. So this truly felt like his last chance. He would speak in his polite and neutral tone to the man again. '"While I do not seek chickens, perhaps the person has other animals they are considering selling? It is the only lead I have so far. May I burden you with the request of guiding me there? I regretfully know little of this place as it seems to be one giant maze." Jace would say, being truthful in his words of being hopelessly lost when it came to navigating this area. He did not desire to have to ask others too for additional guidance once he got to whatever area directions given by this individual would lead him. 'There is a far less chance of getting lost if he were to guide me.' Jace thought to himself. Before the man could accept or refuse, Jace mentally scolded himself as he remembered his manners. Taking a step back, he would bow again a little deeper. "My apologies. In my haste I had forgone one of the most basic of respects in terms of mannerism. I am Jace Willem. A pleasure to meet you, and please forgive my rudeness." He would finish, his apology sounding sincere as he would return to normal posture from his bow.

The male seemed to drift in and out of personal conversation with himself, the Shifter's facial expressions as he pondered over questions in his head would only serve to quirk an eyebrow from the Shadowmancer, yet as he mentioned that there was a chance that the vendor may not sell just chickens, Tala had to admit perhaps he too was curious to see what might be found? - And as the male then requested his assistance in guiding him there, Tala's own mind started to throw up its own questions, mentally fighting with his need to be the 'Lone Wolf' and keep his distance from everyone all the time, he furrowed his brow as he considered making up some excuse to send the male away in the direction that sounded near enough right...

The place 'was' quite the maze if you didn't know where you were going though...and having walked the Marketplace several times - often before the citizens had started their daily routines, Tala knew roughly where they'd be once they discovered the vendor... "I don't come round here much...I'm just waiting for..." he fell silent as Jace proceeded to bow and then apologise before introducing himself; it was already clear by his attire that he came from a much nobler background than Tala had, but the Elementor wouldn't hold it against him - in fact, this was his opportunity to break the monotony and perhaps gain himself an acquaintance - and if this guy was in his combat class, maybe they could pair up sometime...?

After a moment's pause - perhaps to incline he didn't like being interrupted? - Tala would unfold his arms and push away from the wall where he'd been leaning before stepping past the male.

Naturally, he could have kept going, walking away and leaving the male to fend for himself, but instead, the Shadowmancer would turn back, "It sounded stronger from this direction, but you'll have to stick close...I hate crowds so will be moving quickly." he would then set his sights on the direction of the sound before glancing back over his shoulder and nodding towards his plotted course - as though to invite the male along, "My name's Tala, by the way," he would attempt a smile, hoping Jace might catch it before turning to follow the sound.
