THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Sloane waited patiently, hands in her pockets, as Juno looked for her badge. When Juno announced she was ready, Sloane stood at attention and smiled. "Perfect." She offered her arm. "Shall we?"

To say that some of the school's students belonged to wealthy families was an understatement, and Sloane's family was among the richest. For these young women, some special accommodations were made, including a garage with high security and well-spaced parking spots. Sloane's car was in this fancy garage because of its hefty price tag, but she had also asked for a spot because she could, because why not? She led Juno over to her car, a black Ferrari 458 (A/N: according to Wikipedia), and opened the passenger's side door for her. Then she settled into the driver's seat and, once everyone was ready, took off. "Are you excited about tonight?"

Juno beamed brightly when Sloane offered her arm making her feel in all parts like a princess as she took gently trying to make sure that she didn't appear too giddy, as she held onto Sloane, as they made her way to the school parking lot, while she tried not to be too nosey at times, it was hard to not pocket check some of the students at this school From the clothes they wore, the jewelry and what they drove, one just couldn't help but think about the type of money that their families bring in. Sloane now was no exception.

Juno's jaw dropped now for the second time that day at Sloane's vehicle, she was by no means a car nut, but she recognized the logo well enough to know that this car before her was someone's dream car, a car someone worked their life for, or busted there bank to rent for a weekend.

Juno slid into the car carefully, and closed the door even more careful to that, afraid that she might somehow break something if she wasn't careful, she looked around the dash, all the extra buttons and meters. She wondered if Sloane ever just felt the urge to press the pedal to the metal and just take off, speed limit be down. As they took off Juno had the feeling that this car had been tried and tested.

Juno was brought out of her thought by Sloane's speaking to her, she looked over at the girl, watching her for a moment as she drove before speaking "Excited? Yea, but it's not so much the event that has me excited." Juno said honestly.

THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Having someone in the passenger seat persuaded Sloane to drive more slowly, more carefully, but she was still a fast driver. For everything she hated about belonging to a wealthy, affluent family, having the Ferrari was a decent perk. She loved her car. She didn't use it in races--her license plate would be traced back to her--but she still made good use of it.

Juno was excited, but not about the event. Sloane's brows quirked slightly in interest. "Oh?" She shot through a yellow light. "What is it, then?" Glancing at Juno out of the corner of her eye, she noticed how uncomfortable Juno seemed to be in her seat. Afraid of touching anything, ruining anything. Sloane chuckled. "You don't have to be so careful. It's just a car."

"I think it is more exciting because I am not coming to one of these things alone. I guess everything gets better when you include a friend." Juno explained to the best of her ability. She wasn't too sure about this but she felt that it was the reason that she was actually kind of eager to go to one of these showings. She usually didn't attend these sort of events, they were just to show work, and network, both things she had done enough with, she had her connections already.

"oh.. sorry." Juno said, she had been caught acting timid, she tried to relax into the seat. "It's a really nice car." Juno added, turning to look at Sloane again. "Is this your first time being invited to something like this?"

                                                                SLOANE MADDEN
THE ONLY TRUE WISDOM IS IN KNOWING YOU KNOW NOTHING.

Sloane nodded in understanding. Art galleries could be fun, interesting, inspiring; or they could be pretentious and suffocatingly dull. Most of the time, how well you got through the night and what you took from it depended on who you were with.

"Is it the first time I've been invited to an art gallery? No," Sloane replied, grinning slightly. "Is it the first time I've been invited to a gallery by someone who, as far as I know, actually wants me to be there? Maybe, yes." She chuckled. "There was a time last year when my parents decided they didn't have enough social ties to artists, so we attended a lot of galleries," she explained. "I spent most of them wandering from piece to piece on my own." That wasn't entirely true. At a few, she had managed to catch the attention of one of the guests or artists, and they had ended up fooling around in the back for most of the night. But that didn't seem important to mention right now.

Sloane pulled into a parking spot in front of the gallery. After cutting the engine, she got out of the car and opened Juno's door for her. "After you, Ms. Charis. Your fans will be waiting," she said playfully with a grin and a wink.

Juno shook her head laughing genuinely when Sloane opened her door for her in the most gentlemanly fashion, she had been hoping that Sloane wouldn't try to ham it up tonight, and that she wouldn't say things that might start to cause Juno to develop a ego, but that didn't mean that it didn't tickle her a bit when Sloane did. It was easy to laugh, Juno couldn't help it. "Thank you." Juno said as she exited the vehicle, "I'd hate to keep you waiting" Juno added, making it known that she believed her one true fan to most likely be Sloane and only Sloane. At least a fan of her personally, she wasn't foolish enough to think that her art didn't draw some fans, but they liked the piece more than they liked her, that and not being very notable had never stopped her from finding work.

Juno led Sloane towards the gallery, making sure her badge was on display as she entered, she was more than ready to go through the well practiced step of signing in one she reached the desk and found her name on a forum, marking it down with her signature, and getting her badge checked. The male who was sorting her out was quick, prompt and polite. Though he did make a bit of an error, he took one look at Sloane, and gave her a badge labeled talent. These badges were reserved for models. Juno started to point out the mistake, but paused, finding it unnecessary. She could picture Sloane as a model, posing for a photo shoot and appearing in any number of magazine. "These sort of things are rather subtle, as you probably already know, this is pretty much it, it is up to us to actually gain something from being here." Juno informed looking around, she spotted the concessions, a table filled with free food and drink, and she saw a sign on a side hall where the art of today's event would be displayed away from the other pieces. "Should I give you a tour?"

Sloane was waiting patiently for Juno, hands in her pockets and eyes taking in her surroundings, when the man behind the desk mistakenly handed her a badge. Confused, Sloane took it, read what it said. Talent. Oh. She snorted, amused. If Juno had noticed--which she likely had--she didn't say anything about it, and now she was offering Sloane a tour. Once again, Sloane's full attention was on Juno. "Yes, I would love that." As they left the desk, Sloane handed the badge back to the man with a polite smile.

The event wasn't packed, but it was pretty crowded. "Do you know the other artists?" Sloane asked with mild curiosity. Most of the guests appeared to be about their age and artistic themselves.

"Hm?" Juno sounded as she instantly began to lead Sloane off to one of her more favored halls, surprisingly, the hall in question didn't contain any painted or hand drawn work it was all the work of famous photographers from all parts of the world. "Yea, I know all of them, or at least most of them, sometimes the faces change around a bit. All of them are generally nice, but what they say about artist is mostly true." Juno cautioned as she turned to look at Sloane.
"They are all a bit wacky." Juno realized that by saying that she was definitely putting herself in the wack job category, but she was sure that Sloane was able to decipher what she meant. Or at least she hoped so. "I also can't keep an eye on them if I don't introduce myself. Can't properly spy on someone as a stranger, or else they will know that I am up to something, and I can't have that...." Juno said deviously looking at Sloane as if expecting the girl to agree with her, before breaking the illusion with a smile. "Kidding." She announced, as she walked up to a particular frame.

The piece before them had a plate with the name of the photo and the photographer listed. Ugly by Zhang Jingna Juno clasped her hands before her a smile touching her face. "This is one of my favorites." She said simply. She could share with Sloane why this was one of her favorite pieces, she could talk about how beautiful she thought the model was, and how powerful she felt the message was. She could talk about how it made her feel, and how it spoke to her in way that far exceeding the conventions of the glorification of anorexic females in media. But she wasn't sure if she should. It might be too heavy.

Sloane hadn't expected a joke like that from Juno's mouth, so, at first, it almost didn't seem like a joke at all. But then Juno said she was kidding, and the wide-eyed Sloane couldn't help bursting into a chuckle. Well, alright, then.

Sloane came to a slow stop in front of the piece Juno claimed to be one of her favorites. Once again, Sloane found herself surprised--and nearly speechless. She took a long look at the piece, eyes floating from one background photograph to the next before focusing on the bigger picture. It didn't speak much to Sloane, but that made her only more interested in hearing why it appealed so much to Juno. Maybe Sloane was missing something. Maybe there was something she just couldn't see. She could tell Juno was struggling with whether or not she should explain, so Sloane gave her a nudge. "Alright, let's hear it," she said with a smile. "Help me understand."

Juno smiled at Sloane gently when the girl asked for help understanding what the image before them was trying to convey. She clasped her hands together rocking forward on her toes absently before starting. "It speaks on the subject of being made to feel ugly in your own skin no matter what you look like, or what size you come in. The ideal woman comes with a figure and a personality that isn't acquired naturally and thus is unobtainable." Juno said, her lips pursing as she realized that maybe this wasn't the ideal conversation to have while on a date, wasn't exactly a happy topic. "Sometimes we are made to hate ourselves because we don't look like the models in the magazines, not just woman either, men are also faced with this issue." Juno felt it was fair to add that point in, though men weren't as shamed for their bodes commercially, it was still a thought to be had. "Though visually this photo focuses on the woman's body, I also feel more coming from it mentally. How we act and how we are supposed to be perceived. I've struggled a lot with it in the past."

Sloane continued to study the piece of artwork as Juno explained what it meant to her. Honestly, Sloane wasn't sure she would have gotten that from the piece if Juno hadn't helped. But that was the incredible thing about art: although themes may exist, everyone drew something different, something that revealed a glimmer of who they were. Sloane turned her head slightly to look at Juno with curiosity. "How so?" Sloane could guess, but she didn't want to assume. There was much about Juno's past she didn't know yet.

"Can't you tell?" Juno asked looking over at Sloane for a moment before looking away back at the photo before them.
"I'm not normal." She said softly, admitting what she had been forced to come to terms with years ago. "I'm an awkward person, I not good at being around people. It makes me uncomfortable, and that's not how a functioning person is suppose to feel." Juno added her brow furrowing a bit. "I can't step out of my comfort zone, and I can't stand up for myself." Juno smirked now.

"I also have a tendency to be a bit clingy, needy. Coupled with a propensity to be a little jealous at times." Juno said looking at Sloane, remembering that on the day that she had promised to stick up for herself more, to try and be more confident, that she had let another promise die on her lips. She was going to promise not to be so jealous, even if at the time Sloane couldn't of known how Juno was. Smirking Juno added.
"Just to name a few things."

Sloane listened quietly, looking at Juno only when she finished. And when Juno smirked, so did Sloane. "Well, you're certainly in good company," she mused with a heavy chuckle. "I can't say I'm normal, either. I'm good at being around people, but that doesn't mean I'm good to be around. I've been raised to constantly be in control--of my thoughts, my behaviors, my appearance, my everything. But it's so exhausting, I find myself using... unhealthy methods of coping. And, I don't care. About a lot of things. I think it would scare you, Juno."

Sloane stopped herself. This was going places she didn't want to go. She forced a laugh and shook her head, trying to escape the heaviness she had just set in place. But it was hard. She hadn't said a lot of that outloud before. What had come over her? "I'm... sorry. I got a little carried away." She met Juno's gaze and smiled. "What I mean to say is, I think we're perfect for each other."

Juno did know what to think of Sloane's response, there was a lot that was said that Juno didn't truly understand. She didn't get Sloane's unhealthy coping methods, nor did she know why Sloane would indicate that she wasn't good to be around. She couldn't for the life of her figure out what about Sloane would frighten her, but she would also admit that she didn't really know Sloane as well as she would like to.

"I don't think you got carried away." Juno said softly she brushed her knuckles against Sloane's hand softly, hesitating before hooking her index finger around Sloane's as if asking permission. "I think it is easy to get caught up in moment in a place like this. I find myself saying things I would never say when I'm in places like this. Or when I'm with you." Juno mumbled the last part of that softly.

She liked that Juno was coming out of her shell a little bit. Sloane took Juno's hand in her own and brought it to her lips for a chaste, yet affectionate, kiss. The feeling was mutual, the action said. After giving Juno's hand a squeeze, she released it and nodded toward the other pieces. "Will you show me yours now?"
