However, Jeni wasn't typically the person to do that unless given a legitimate reason to. "I don't usually scurry off from just observations. However, running away after freezing someone is a different story." With the sound of her voice, many would believe that the sorceress was simply telling an outrageous lie. She looked too "innocent" to freeze anyone as some people say. "Anyways, I prefer to stay clear from a nomadic lifestyle." After that was said, Jeni's eyes returned their attention back towards the page of the book. She was quite the quick reader since she was able to read 1 page every 20 seconds. It became second nature since she barely had anything to do - other than read - on her personal time. As the doctor continued to speak, his last statement made the sorceress pause briefly. No point for feelings, huh? The two seemed to have comparing and contrasting ideas about emotions and what not. Yes, it is very easy to manipulate someone through their personal feelings. This is why she felt that lacking the ability to display such emotions in facial expressions was a bit of a plus. However, at times it did become frustrating when it came to the times that she did want people to know how she felt. I suppose after leaving her village, that's when she began to actually care how she, herself, felt.   Ben was quck to reach around her as if he were going to grab her by the throat, his skin cold to the touch."Unless you're a sociopath. Then you're just pretending to feel to avoid detection. Best cover, wouldn't you agree miss?"As he finished his sentence, he had grabbed a book that had been in front of Jeni and slowly pulled his arm back away from her personal space area; turning his back to her to hide the dark shadow that covered his face while he traveled to the other side of the bookstore in search of more books.

With the way he moved, it seemed as through he was about to strangle her in a way. She stood still, practically in a frozen stance as she listened to the man's words. "I...I suppose..." She said with a tone of uncertainty. He was one peculiar doctor. The way he spoke about things without a single care and his actions were kind of strange in her eyes. As he left to go to the other side of the store, Jeni sighed slightly and made her way back over to the cashier station. She checked out several more people until it was her time to clock-out. "I suppose I can grab dinner before going home....but where's my purse?" She said to herself as she searched around the store for her lost item.

Ben was in the philosophy section, Jeni's purse in one hand while he continued to browse around for a book that would catch his interest. This girl was amusing and toying with her was far more pleasurable than reading any book. Out of sheer amusement he was doing this.

She groaned a bit in frustration as she scratched the back of her head, trying to back-track her steps. "Maybe he knows?" She thought aloud to herself as she searched for the blonde man. She caught sight of him in the philosophy and quickly walked over. With his back turned towards her, she tapped his shoulder with her ice cold hands. "Excuse me, do you know where....my purse!" Her grey-blue eyes shot down towards his hand that had her purse. "Why'd you take it?"

Ben had managed to get his hands on a good book regarding what was truth when the sounds of footsteps caused him to smirk to himself. Feeling the tap, he held out the purse to Jeni."You left it on the floor. Should be more careful with your things. Anyone could have just picked it up and walked out. And there are plenty of psychopaths out there who would gladly do the job."

"Well, thank you. " Jeni turned to leave, but paused briefly. It seemed fairly rude to just leave after he had found and returned her purse. In her culture, it was a valued thing to reward those who did good deeds. In a half turn, Jeni looked at him with a curious look in her eyes. "Want to go get dinner? Ben tucked the book under his arm and had gone to the cashier to check out when Jeni had unexpectedly returned with the question about dinner. Hearing her offer he eyed her curiously after having paid for his book."Dinner? With someone you barely know? Sounds rather dangerous if you ask me but I'm not to turn down an invitation, especially from a young lady such as yourself.

Her father always took in people for dinner or to stay the night just as long as he saw them pure in mind and spirit. Buuuut then again, her village had a set of very strict rules and laws. Breaking even a small one led to a harsh punishment. "I guess I'm still not assimilated quite yet..." Either way, she'd still reward him with dinner. She walked outside, being welcomed by the light fog and waited until Ben had came out. Ben followed Jeni out the door, with his book In hand and a carefree expression on his face."I really don't care. As long as they have meat." He really wasn't in the mood for eating and would prefer to be in the comfort of his study but since the girl had felt so polite and generous towards him, he couldn't possibly deny her the opportunity.

Letting go of the cold metal handle leading into the bookstore, she pushed her hand just long enough on the glass to leave it open for Ryuu - though clearly distracted by the books within. Her nostrils flared, taking a deep breath of the new yet antique-y smelling paper surrounding the walls of Bookworms. And although she said absolutely nothing in that moment... She was beyond content at that time. A slight heat came off around the place, the lights making it seem even brighter now that it was dark outside. Scanning the area, Sarah stopped just in time to realize that she did in fact have a guest with her. She couldn't just go running off to buy the book and scram before anyone got a good look at who she was. Nope! That was right. She had to stay in place because... Well, she wanted to make new friends. And although it had been a while since she had really played the field - perhaps a special one couldn't hurt. She pursed her lips out, only now the realization of what he had just said coming through her ears.
"What? You don't believe me?" A small laughed escaped her light pink lips. "Well that's not fair~." By now the cup was only halfway full. Albeit, she had drank it a little fast - there was no lie about that. But hey, what can you do when you're craving something for so long and it's right there? Anyway, she had been telling the truth! She really had found that funny in every aspect. Then again, she searched over Ryuu's face with utmost curiosity and analysis. He was more than likely playing with her.
