Connor sighed and dropped his hands and looked at her hard. He was starting to get angry at her questions. Of course he wasn't going to have any other sexual partners. He found that question ridiculous. He's been alone for years. He didn't even allow female's inside of his castle because he didn't want to love again after he lost his wife. He didn't think it was possible until he met Arianna. "Arianna-" He started to say but stopped when he noticed her shiver and he too could feel a chill in the air even though it was warm in his room.

He watched as her eyes went wide and she looked scared. She looked around her, over her shoulders and then he stepped back when she screamed for him to get away from her. "Arianna!" He glared at her and went to say something when he seen the holes in her neck suddenly appear. The thing was back! And he couldn't see it. He grabbed a letter opener off his desk and threw it. It glided past her head right where another head would be if it was biting her.

He ran over to her and grabbed her arm and pulled her into him. Her back was against his chest and he held her against him protectively, his golden eyes were narrowed and searching the room. "It's alright, Arianna, I have you." He whispered to her, kissing her cheek although the blood flowed freely from her neck, staining the silk bathrobe she wore. His heart pounded in his chest and he hated that he couldn't save her from something he couldn't see or physically defend against. He leaned his head down and licked her wound closed again.

Ari leaned back against Connor shivering from cold and shaking with fear as she heard the maniacal laughter.'That won't save you my sweet.' Connor didn't know what to do. How could he get rid of something he didn't even know what he was trying to get rid of. Or how it was inside of her. He lifted her into his arms bridal style and moved her closer to the fire. He sat on the floor there in the light of the roaring fire, the heat was intense and he hoped that would warm her up. He held her in his lap and tried to soothe her although He had no clue if this was actually helping, he just hoped it was.

Ari shivered and got as close to Connor as she could. The feeling wouldn't go away. To her it felt much like what Connor did to her the previous evening but way less enjoyable. It felt like it grew larger in her and then suddenly it was gone. The laughter filled the room and then faded. She was cold, bone deep cold and she kept feeling the fangs in her neck even though they were gone. Turning she wrapped her arms around Connor's neck and cried hard. Finally the tears stopped but she was still cold inside. She didn't know what that thing was but it wasn't a human spirit for sure. "How can I stop that?" She asked mostly herself because she knew Connor wouldn't know. Somehow, she had to figure out to keep it from attacking her. Why did it want her? What did it want from her? She asked herself these questions but had no answers.

Connor didn't know what to tell her. He just held her until she was able to compose herself. He needed to find answers for this and fast. How could he have Arianna there under his care while she was being obviously molested by unseen things. It wasn't just in her mind because he could see the evidence himself. He wouldn't be able to take care of her twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. He had a lot of stuff he had to do and on top of it all he wanted to have a good time with Arianna, not constantly have her crying. During the day, he normally slept like the dead. It was all very frustrating and he had no clue how to stop it. Perhaps he would seek out a seasoned witch and ask her what she thought was going on here and how they could stop it. He would have to do that tomorrow night because if he left now, the sun would come up in a few short hours. "Everything better now?"

Arianna looked up at Connor and nodded. "Aye....I think so."She said feeling her whole body shaking from relief now. She had to figure out how to stop that. Had to figure out what it even was that was doing that to her. It wasn't a ghost. She just had no idea of how to figure this out. That voice was scary, it stayed with her and made her feel like ice was running through her veins. Wrapping her arms around herself, she shivered the cold, shock and relief making her teeth chatter almost uncontrollably.

Connor stood up, pulling her up with him. He had to get Arianna some clothes. She must bye chilled to the bone to chatter like that. "Come, Let's get you warmed up." He said and lead her back to her room, carring her in his arms like she was more precious than gold. He walked into her room, which had also been left opened from when she ran from her's to his. He closed the door with his foot and took her over to the bed, setting her down.

After he rummaged though the wardrobe, he pulled out a large rabbit fur coat and draped it around her. "It suites you well, Arianna." He said with a small smile. He went to the fire and threw some more logs on it to get the fire nice and large. He looked and seen her tub was still full of water. He walked to it and closed the curtain that divided the bedroom from the bathroom and went back over to her bed. He sat on the edge of it and leaned over to her, touching her cheek softly. "How are you feeling now?"

Arianna was numb she was so cold. She knew he carried her into her room, could feel his hands on her so gently but only because she knew he was touching her. Had she closed her eyes, she would have felt nothing. She wanted to grab him and keep him from leaving her but realized that he wasn't leaving as he stoked the fire and brought her a fur to warm her. She did feel the warmth of his hand on her cheek and she tried to smile for him. Her eyes still held fear but she smiled. "A little better, thank you.....Connor? Would you hold me please? I just feel so cold, it's like death....Deep in my soul." She whispered as she placed her tiny hand over his much larger hand. She felt safer with him there, though why she wasn't sure since the thing had attacked her with him right there and holding her. She would have to look at the book her mother had left her that had spells and such in it. That had been in her saddle bags and she knew exactly where it was now but she would be damned if she went out there so late at night to find it. Plus right now all she could think about was warming up.

Connor nodded, pulling back her quilt and slipping under it with her and the fur. He pulled her into his arms and laid there with her, holding her and trying to warm her up but it seemed like no matter how long he laid there, she was still shivering. "Perhaps I can call for a healer?" He asked her, not sure what to do. "Are you sure you're still cold, Arianna? You feel warm to the touch to me. Perhaps it's a fever you have."

Connor shook his head. "I don't know, Arianna.. My healer know's I'm a Vampire and hasn't alerted the church on me, so perhaps he won't alert the church on you?" He said and looked at her when she raised her eyes to look at him. "What is it?" He asked, stroking her cheek softly. "Is there something I can get for you?" She looked like she wanted to ask something of him, but he had no clue what it was. Right now he felt like he would do anything to make her feel better.

Arianna blushed bright red. "I...I...If you think it would be best to go to a healer...I trust you." She stuttered and put her face back in his neck before she told him what she had been thinking.
