Gannon… As soon as Gannon heard the words being spoken, he flung up a shield of ice around himself, Melody and Hikari. The pain he felt from the last time she used that attack had taken its toll on him. He could barely stand and his concentration was slipping. He wasn’t sure just how long he could keep going using magic alone.

--Aaron Leon Cecil-- Aaron had finally made it back to his feet after using the Droopy Soda Ishira had given him, before the Reyvateil launched a powerful gust Song on Hikari and the others. His thoughts immediately went to his sister. "Kari!" He shouted, not thinking of his own safety as he threw himself in front of the Reyvateils, taking the brunt of the attack from them. His CPG armor withstood a bit of the Magic but was quickly overcome and the wind blades tore into his body, throwing him back into a tree with terrible force. Blood splattered from his mouth as he hit. "K-Kari... Mom... sorry... I failed... again..." He murmured with the last of his strength. Then everything went black.

I am the Light of this World The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ As soon as the Song Magic was released, Hikari ran to Gannon's side, her worry overcoming any other feeling she was feeling at the moment. "Are you all right?" She asked, knowing it was a dumb question but nonetheless feeling the need to ask it anyway. She closed her eyes and began her healing Song. "Was yea ra sonwe sos dius manaf yor. [I will be very happy to sing for the sake of your life, my precious person.]" Her cheeks were tinted pink, but she wasn't certain if it was excitement from battle or embarrassment for expressing her feelings for the Teru through the healing Song. Or if it was something else entirely. "Do you feel any better...?" Then she caught sight of Aaron's bloody form slumped against a tree. "Aaron!?" She screamed. It felt like she was frozen in place. Shakily, she reached a trembling hand out as if to reach him but her feet wouldn't move. It was as if she lost all of her strength.

At the onset of the dark-haired Reyvateil's attack, she grabbed the commander of her squads and pulled him in front of her, using him as a human shield against the icy attack. The other Reyvateil's "Freeze" attack had killed the man, but it also created a barrier between her and the ragtag rescue group. This was her chance. She let the man's body fall to the ground before making a break for the tunnel entrance, leaving the rest of the soldiers to their fate. By the time the last stage of the three part attack hit, she was safely inside the tunnels leading back to the Inn. And with all the mangled bodies left behind, she doubted they'd notice her missing right away. She had time, Tessia came up through the floor of the Inn and left through the front door. Her transport was hidden near by.

Gannon…
Before he could answer, Aaron's crumpled body caught his attention. Damnit... Hikari doesn't need this. Another of their allies had fallen to the C.P.G. "Hikari, I..." He paused. It was hard to tell with the human's armor, but he could have sworn he had just seen Aaron's chest move. Could he be...? Gannon limped over to the fallen human. After checking, he called out, "He's got a pulse. Not much of one... Hikari, Miko, Need your help over here." They didn't have much time. The wounds had to be closed, otherwise Aaron would bleed out. Hopefully Rhaplanca's attack had done enough damage to buy them some time. "Ishira! I need you to..." Another pause. The other Teru was covered in his own blood, barely on his feet. "Well, s**t. Mana!" No sign of the half breed. Where the hell is she!? Ugh... Fine. "Nereus! Get over here!"

I am the Light of this World The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ Hikari took one shaky step after another. He's alive... He's alive... He's not dead yet... I have to... She reached him and collapsed to her knees, a sob forcing its way up. She attempted to sing, at first fumbling for the words of her healing spell. "W-wee... wee yea ra... sonwe sarla... sos ridalnae manaf yor... Wee yea ra sonwe sarla sos ridalnae manaf yor. Wee yea ra sonwe sarla sos ridalnae manaf yor! [I will be happy to sing this song for the sake of your irreplaceable life!" By the end she was practically screaming the words, as she watched her magic activating over and over but having hardly any effect besides slightly closing some of his wounds. "Why!? Why won't it work!? Was ki ra sonwe sarla sos melenas yor! [I will concentrate to sing this song for the sake of my beloved you!]" The Song activated again, but with the same little effect. "Is he just this badly injured...? Is there really nothing that Song Magic can do? Miko!" She cried out. "Hurry, please, help me! I beg of you!"

Miko~

Having been injured, Miko shakily got to her knees after the Reyvateils' attack had been unleashed. She finally managed to stand, but then she heard Gannon's voice and then a minute later Hikari's frantic voice begging for her help. She stumbled over to where Gannon and Hikari were. Her breath hitched in her throat. No! We can't lose anyone else, so please! She squeezed her eyes shut and spoke to Hikari, trying to keep her voice calm for the sake of the frantic Reyvateil. "Hikari, keep singing. Please. I will use my magic as well. I can't do this without you. He will make it. He's not going to die. We won't let him, will we?" She took a deep breath and used her Teru magic, transforming her bow into a wooden flute. "Healing wind," she spoke before playing the tune on her instrument. Now, with Miko and Hikari's magic together, the wounds at least had stopped bleeding and had scabbed over. However, it was too much for just magic to fix alone. He had nearly been killed and they were lucky that they had been able to save him at all. She ended the magic on her end and drew back. "This is the most magic can do for him. He needs to rest after this. We've done all we can for now. We should get him some place safe." She let in a sharp intake of breath. "Home! We should go to my aunt's home! I'll take care of him there." She found that Hikari's in addition to her own magic had spread to her and Gannon who had been nearby and taken affect on them. She stood with much more ease now and breathed a small sigh of relief.

I am the Light of this World The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ Hikari suddenly felt that tired feeling come back again but she shook it off. She wasn't done yet. Aaron had looked pretty bad, almost as bad as Zek. So maybe, if she tried hard enough, she could still save him too. She stumbled over to Zek. "Sir Zek," she murmured. A wave of dizziness washed over her and she reflectively put a hand to her flushed cheek, as if checking herself for a temperature. She couldn't tell if she was feverish, but she was starting to feel something.Dead. Like the death we are meant to cause. No, you're wrong! The Reyvateil shook her head to get rid of the cobwebs. She took in another breath and started to sing again, slightly calmer. "Wee yea ra sonwe sarla sos manaf yor. [I'll be happy to sing a song for your life.]" Nothing happened. No... no, I just didn't try hard enough. I have to put more emotion into it! Just like with me and Miko! "M-Miko, I need your help again, okay? Please... we can still save Sir Zek. We can! Just like we did with Aaron, okay?" She closed her eyes and began again. "Was yea ra... Was ki ra sonwe en granme sos manaf yor! [I'm very happy, I will greatly concentrate on singing to protect your life!]" She kept singing, again and again fighting her fatigue until she couldn't stand anymore and she collapsed to her knees, letting out a small cry of surprise. "Was... was ki ra..." But she found she couldn't sing anymore; even breathing was difficult. She sat there beside Zek's body, unable to move, drawing in uneven and ragged breaths. A hand again went to her pale face, covering her forehead and eyes. "Zek... why... why can't you live...? Why am I so weak? Why can't I even heal the people I care about...?" We are a weapon. We are not meant to preserve life but to destroy it. Why do you keep resisting?Because... because that can't be the only reason that we were born! I don't want to destroy lives! Tears streamed down her cheeks and she tried to wipe them away out of frustration. She was angry, she was hurt, she was afraid, she was sad, she was lonely, she was confused and a million other things that she couldn't name. And she felt terrible. She was dizzy, the voice was back full blown, threatening to commandeer her own thoughts and she couldn't remember a time when her head had hurt so much. She felt so ill she felt as if she were dying.
And no one was going to comfort her this time. She was going to be alone, she was certain of it. Maybe it's a good thing. No, it is a good thing. I want to die. I don't want to live like this anymore. No more! Hikari made it to her unsteady feet once more, and muttered, "Miko said... we can go to her aunt's... Let's go there, then." Her feet automatically shuffled, though without the usual vibrancy they normally would have carried. "Aaron... he needs rest... so let's go..."

Gannon…
Gannon stood, testing his legs. It seemed that between Hikari's singing and Miko's magic, he'd benefited from it a bit. Damnit, where's Nereus? There wasn't much he could do for Aaron until the other human got there. The sound of singing caught his attention. Hikari was standing over Zek's corpse, trying to heal him. He didn't know if it was the sight of his friend's broken body or Hikari struggling in vain to help him, or a mix of everything that had just happened. It felt like someone was reaching into him and clawing at his heart. A mix of blood and tears stung his eyes, but all he could do is wipe them away. There just wasn't time for that. Not when Hikari was like this.
He slowly walked over to where the Reyvateil was singing and silently waited for her to stop. He watched as she stood and slowly started to move away. He reached out and took hold of her hand and pulled her close. He knew they didn't have much time. If any of the soldiers were still alive on the other side of the ice barrier, they would be on the attack soon. Not to mention the other person... He wrapped his arms around the blonde Reyvateil and held her for a moment. He didn't say anything, just held her. The truth was he just didn't have the words. After what seemed like forever, the Teru ended the embrace, and lead Hikari by the hand in the direction of the group.

Miko~

"Maybe I should go get Mana," the younger twin said after staying silent through what had just happened between the Reyvateil and the Teru. She brightened slightly. "Or at home, we have a traveling stretcher for moving the injured," she suggested. "I don't know where Mana is, anyway, so maybe Hikari and I could help you carry him." She looked around her, not seeing Nereus anywhere. She avoided looking at Zek too much, not wanting to cry. It seemed that the others were doing enough of that now, anyway. I have to be the strong one. I have to put on a brave face if only for a little while. Once everyone else is all right, then I can cry, she told herself. "I'll be back in a little bit!"

I am the Light of this World The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ Surprise overtook the Reyvateil when the Teru held her close. She whimpered slightly in pain at the sudden action but didn't pull away from him, either. She knew that he was feeling just as much, if not more pain than she and she wrapped her arms around him weakly, unable to muster anymore strength. "I'm sorry for everything," she whispered.
When he pulled away and took her hand, leading her, Hikari stumbled behind. "W-wait," she said, not wanting to trip on him like she had before when she felt ill. Hikari remembered the last time Gannon had thought she was sick and wanted to dive into her, and, well, for Hikari diving was bad.
Diving meant that she would get closer to Gannon. It meant that she would show him her deepest and darkest secrets; things she didn't want to realize even by herself. It would leave her vulnerable. But worst of all, it would keep the virus at bay and keep her alive. And as long as she was alive, she would have to run. She would have to fight. And destroy. And see death, and much more killing.
If she just let the virus take its course in the end it would be better for them all. Above everything else, she couldn't get closer to Gannon, or anyone else, only to be left alone when they would leave. Which they would, she was certain that it was only a matter of time. She felt bad for using it as an excuse to get him to let go of her, but she did anyway. "What about Sir Zek? We can't just leave him here, can we?"

"Rhaplanca?" Ishira coughed and leaned on his naginata, listening for her voice after all the commotion. Cold sweat and blood had blinded him. Other voices, singing... Aaron? he wasn't feeling any healing effects and darkness was overtaking him. He couldn't fight it off another second and could feel himself falling. Rhaplanca? he was worried that she had sustained injuries after all. Rhaplanca Rhaplanca was ragged at the amount of energy the release of the song took from her in addition to her own emotions taking their toll. She was catching her breath, in shock at Ishira's state when he called out. A sob caught in her throat.
"Don't," she reached out as he was falling forward away from her. She used all her strength to clutch his hand and counterbalance, bracing his fall. She let him lower gently to the ground. Tears were silently flowing at this point but she had to focus.
"[Let my words be the reprieve you deserve. You, who are most important to me]" Rhaplanca knelt beside Ishira and clasped her hands to her chest, singing a sad but hopeful song magic. Soon, her mind guardian song magic was shinning above Ishira and a shower of blue shimmer fell gracefully upon them both.
Ishira's eyes blinked open. His wounds were nothing compared to Aarons, still rest would be his best healer as well. He looked up to a crying Rhaplanca and reached up to wipe away a tear, "Hey.." his arm fell back onto his chest from exhaustion, "What's with the waterworks?" he was more like his boyish self in his delirium, but he quickly regained the gravity of the situation, "We need to get moving," he pushed himself up through the soreness with a grunt. Now looking down on Rhaplanca he held out a hand, "Thank you," he acknowledged. Rhaplanca blush beneath her already reddened cheeks at Ishira's touch and dashed away her tears from embarrassment and took his hand quietly and rose to her feet. She was feeling utter exhaustion and vulnerable. By this time Hikari and Gannon had broke their embrace. Ishira glanced over to the others, hearing about Zek's body. A coldness hit him after a pang of guilt, "Let me," he said somberly, "Out of all of us, I can carry him."

Nereus Nereus follow the group and wanted to volunteer but he saw Gannon turn into a dragonic figure and left. After that happen, he saw Hikari run towards the figure in the sky, then the rest follow her. He too began to run but all of a sudden a high pitch began to blast in his head. All he could do was take three steps before falling on the ground and trying his best to cover his ears. "C..can't take..." That was all he could say as he watch all of them in the group go after her besides Mana, Nel, and Rinna. He close his eyes, trying ti endure the pain. I truly am not worthy to join them. What have I done to contribute to the group. All I am good at is just getting in the way. He slowly began to open his eye as he saw two figures going up. One what look like fire and the other like ice. Nereus tried to stand up but the pitch was still going strong. Slowly but surely, Nereus began to walk toward the group. As he did he heard the voice of Gannon and began to speed up. What he saw was horrible. Ton of blood has been spread in the woods. Trying to endure the high pitch he look into his bag and got the last two Tranquility that he had and went to give it to the closest Reyvateil he could see, which was the one that he help on the dive shop. "I know this may not do much, but it's all that I have." He then went to Hikari and handed her the Tranquility. "I'm sorry for not being able to assist you." He then face Gannon. " I am sorry for not coming sooner." He look around and notice Aaron badly injure. Why wasn't I able to come and help them. I truly am pathetic. I couldn't even keep that promise. He clench the paper in a fist that had the drawing. I should of just stayed at my shop.

It was an average day in the household. Cello Pel Meru was busy tidying up and thinking of what to make for dinner. A knock sounded on the door. "Oh, dear... I'll be right there." She opened the door and nearly fainted. "M-Mana!" There stood her estranged niece with three young girls. She shakily reached a hand forward to touch her niece's cheek, unable to believe what she was seeing. "Are you real, dear...?" Mana~
Mana allowed her to go ahead and place her hand on her cheek. "Yeah, Aunt, it's me..." She stepped back and scratched the back of her neck. "Man, this is awkward. Um, 'kay, I'll start. We've had some run-ins with the CPG. They're up to no good. They're with me. Think it'd be okay for us to sit tight here awhile?"
Her aunt stared hard at the three Reyvateils behind Mana. "They are all Reyvateils, aren't they?" The woman sighed. "Mana, I warned you not to get involved with humans. It only causes trouble. Now look, you've brought three fugitive Reyvateils in and want me to clean up your mess." "W-what!?" Mana nearly shouted but maintained her composure for the sake of the three behind her. "Never mind. Coming here was a dumb idea. If you'll excuse us... Ugh, and to think I actually believed Miko..."Cello shook her head. "No, Mana please, come here. Quickly, get inside." She sighed. "You're my niece above all else, child." She ushered them all inside. "If Miko has told you that I've been worried sick these past couple years, she was right. I have been. Please, tell me what you've been up to all this time." "I'm gonna tell you a short version of it. It's way too long otherwise," Mana responded as she let her aunt lead her and the girls inside.
