Alister nodded after they had made their suggestion. Since Ganner knew Halcyon best, he trusted his judgement on letting him go on his own. "Very well. We will wait until the appropriate time. After you get inside, we will deal with the patrol so that you will have a better clearing once you get outside. Now allow me to bestow a blessing upon you that Moradin may watch over you." As he said this he bestowed a prayer of wisdom and grace. With this Halcyon felt even more nimble than usual and more clarity.
"It is done. Good luck." he said.

Leon felt the warm embrace of Moradin as Alister set his blessing upon him, but for this job he felt he would need the guidance of the lord of Shadows, Mask. Dead, though he was, there was still holy power to be found in prayer to him. Leon focused on the mask tattooed upon his face, his holy symbol and his link to his god mask. "Guide me through shadow, through darkness, through dream and through silence." He prayed quietly to himself under his breath. "And may I find no light to show me. And may I make no sound that they may hear. And may I be one with secret and remain as such. Lord mask, guide me to these children that I may guide them through shadow to safety." Though the other's did not hear him, he knew Mask did, and he felt the shadow lord's embrace wrapping him in darkness and in silence.

"I'm not so much for prayer. But may Tymora be with you as well." Ganner said. Settling back Ganner readied his sword. He did not draw it for fear that it might cause a reflection of the light and give them away, but he did make sure it was loose in its sheath. He hadn't said anything while discussing the plan with Halcyon, but there was no way he was going to sit back and wait if it sounded as if the elf had been discovered. Hopefully it wouldn't come down to a dramatic rescue though. Well, not more than one, since they were really there to retrieve the children. He'd just have to wait and have faith in his new found ally.

As Halcyon passes the goblins guarding the area, he will find that they are patrolling around an opening that leads to a downstairs chamber. The walls are slick with moss and weeds. The stairs are weathered from age and the air becomes more humid as he descends. Inside whimpering can be heard as well as snarling and growling. The chamber is lit by a few torches which small streams of light piercing the dark corners from the crumbled ceiling.
Once inside, Halcyon will find the children bound on one side of the chamber with an alter in the middle covered in blood. Animal parts lay at the foot of the alter and the children softly crying fearing for their lives. On the east end of the chamber lay sacks of items; their contents unknown.
A larger goblin holding a wooden staff began speaking and chanting. It seemed to be doing some sort of sacrifice and began burning the contents on the alter with the smoke rising out of a hole in the ceiling.
Meanwhile outside Alister and Ganner waited patiently for Halcyon to complete his objective.

Leon descended the stairs slowly, being sure to avoid the light coming from the entryway at the bottom. He held his breath as slinked along a shadowed wall towards the opening. He slowly and carefully took a peek around the corner, knowing his ebon hair and mask tatoo would keep any stray eyes from seeing anything but shadow peeking out. He saw an altar in the middle of the chamber, at which was standing what looked to be a goblin Shaman. He looked and saw only two other goblins in the chamber. One guarding the children, whom he spotted bound to a wooden rack set into the far wall, and one running around setting up materials in different spots in the room in a rush, seemingly for the next part of the ritual. He knew the numbers were off as there should have been more goblins. The others must be out hunting or ambushing travelers, he thought to himself and pressed on.
He could see large piles of rubble about the room and began skulking about them, being careful to avoid moving whenever the goblins were looking in his direction. Meanwhile, he watched the patterns they made. Watched how often they glanced this way or that. Looked for an opening to get to the children without being seen. He noticed that the helper goblin was not paying attention to anything save for the materials he was gathering and placing, and the Shman, likewise, was entranced in his ritual, only glancing over once every few minutes to make sure the gaurd was still at his post ready to hand him a child when it came time for the sacrifice.
Leon had, in the past, done a few runs with a goblin memeber of an allied luskan mob by the name of Skrugg and had had the good fortune to pick up a large ammount of goblin culture and language off of him during the more boring hours of stakeouts and ambushes with him. As such, he could also make out a lot of what was being said. The Shaman was spitting out line after line describing the next action to be done and ending each line with "for the spirit of our grandsire, Grick!"
He payed close attention to the pattern as he snuck closer to the goblin gaurd next to the children. He had to be careful not to alert the children to his presence either lest they give him away with hopeful cries of salvation or sudden suspenceful silence in an attempt to not alert the goblins to his presence. He slowly and carefully slid from one boulder, behind a crate, past a shadowy wall until finally he was behind the little b*****d. He waited for the shaman "for the spirit of our grandsire, Grick!" and he quickly moved from cover, grasped the goblin's mouth and held it quiet as he stabbed the ugly b*****d repeatedly in the back. He made sure to do this out of sight of the children. The goblin quickly bled out and before the Shaman could glance back, Leon propped the goblin corpse back in his spot against the wall, looking just as at attention as a corpse could.
Leon, knew his time was almost up, so he drew his other blade and waited by the children, knowing they were secure for now. But he grew anxious as the Shaman spoke something new in golbin, of a slightly different pattern. "and for the spirit of our grandsire, grick, we give blood of human children!" At which the helper goblin began to walk towards the wall where the children were bound and weeping.

"Alright." Ganner said as he stood. "Time's up. Let's move in." He glanced down and noticed a chunk of stone or brick lying near his foot and bent down to pick it up. "Let's make some noise and get their attention." Not waiting to see if Alister was with him or not Ganner moved forward, towards the ruins that the goblins had set up in. As he moved through the trees he saw one of the little bastards walking across his intended path. Ganner barely hesitated and didn't even break stride as he whipped his broken chunk of brick across the distance and managed to bean the goblin right in the skull. Even from so far away Ganner heard a satisfyingly wet crunch from the impact. Ganner stepped out into the cleared area around the ruins. Directly over the body of the goblin he had struck with the brick. He noted that a couple of other goblins had noticed the attack, and now had noticed him as he stepped out over their fallen comrade. "Hey there, you little shits!" Ganner called out to the goblins in the area. He held his left hand up in front of him and drew a rune in the air while muttering a command word. An orb of acid suddenly appeared in his hand, forming as though someone were pouring it into a spherical container. Ganner flung out his hand to the side, flinging the orb across the clearing where it splattered against one of the goblins, setting its skin to burning. Ganner then drew his sword with a flourish and advanced on another of the goblins.

As Ganner moved into position, Alister remained a few feet behind to allow space between and attract less attention. Readying himself, he waited until Ganner had distracted a pair and taken one down. Emerging from his hiding behind a thick tree, he let out a battle cry and struck the other goblin with great force. Caught with surprise, the goblin had little time to react and was met with its head clubbed into the ground. This combined with Ganner's shout attracted the attention of the other patrol.
Meanwhile back inside the underground, the sounds of fighting, shouting and snarling were starting to attract attention. The shamen looked out toward the entrance and ordered the goblin gathering materials to check what was going on for it was distracting his chanting and concentration.
((I'll let you decide if the shamen notices the unresponsive goblin that Leon had taken care of.))

((That's a pretty small tribe of goblins. Normally I'd think we'd be looking at anywhere between 10 and 30. Not saying that that is bad. Just saying that it's a small tribe.))

The goblin already had its little spear in hand as Ganner walked steadily towards it. "Come on!" Ganner yelled at it. "Come at me." Ganner even went so far as to set his arms out wide, leaving his center completely open. The goblin was unable to resist such a tempting target and charged in, lunging with its spear. Ganner smirked, He brought his right arm across, in which he had allowed his sword to fall down towards the ground. The sword came across and Ganner rolled his wrist over, bringing the blade up under the lunging spear point and guiding it safely up and out, away from Ganner. Ganner stepped in and savagely kicked the goblin in the torso, knocking it over, though it managed to retain its grasp on its spear. Ganner stepped towards it again and the little goblin brought its spear up before it, aiming it at Ganner again threateningly. Across came Ganner's sword and there was a dull thunk of impact as the point of the spear was severed cleanly. Ganner brought his sword across again, this time striking with the flat of the blade and knocking the shaft of the spear out of the goblin's hands. Ganner whirled his sword around so that he was gripping it point down and took it in both hands, then stabbed down into the goblin's chest. The little creature let out a short shriek, but it died quickly, as did the goblin. The sword had thrust straight though its heart and it did not take more than a moment for it to pass form this world.

Lean stifled a sigh of relief when the helper goblin went outside. He slowly and carefully snuck to a position where he could catch the Shaman by surprise and waited for the others to join him, while listening intently for any indication that the Shaman was going to begin his sacrifice. If it came to that then he knew he could not wait any longer and would have to tangle with this one alone.

Alister readied himself looking at the spear armed goblin. It snarled angrily at the dwarf ready to skewer its target. Sidestepping he circled to his right as the goblin eyed him. Then stopping he relaxed his guard. Thinking this an opening the goblin charged Alister. Alister's eye widened as he rotated his body 180 degrees with the tip flying past him along with the goblin. Unable to stop, the goblin's spear lodged itself in the thick tree trunk behind Alister. The goblin tried in vain to remove his weapon but found it difficult. Behind him he heard the sound of cracking knuckles. Turning to see, his face was met with hard knuckles. Alister could hear the crunch of bone as the goblin flew and hit the tree.
Dusting his hands, he noticed another goblin this one armed with a short sword. "Come on. I've dealt with better in my swaddling clothes." he taunted while at the same time gesturing with his hands for the goblin to attack him.

Ganner stood, withdrawing his sword form the chest of the dead goblin as he did. He whipped the blade down to the side to clear the blood from it. The goblin he had hit with his acid orb had recovered and came charging in. The little beast screamed at him as it charged in with its little sword. Ganner brought his sword around and struck hard against the goblin's sending it tumbling away. The crazed little monster barely slowed, though, with its acid burned face and chest, and simply leaped upon Ganner and started raking with its filthy claws. Ganner fell to the ground and punched out with his sword hand, striking the goblin that now sat astride him in the side of the head. The little creature reeled for a moment. And that moment was all Ganner needed. His left hand again traced a rune in the air while he muttered a command word. Then he struck out with his left hand, fingers splayed wide. The instant his hand made contact against the goblin's chest the creature seized and convulsed as the lighting-like power of Ganner's shocking grasp spell surged into it. The spell ended quickly, but too late for the goblin, who had expired under that force. Ganner shoved it off of him and rose again, looking for his next opponent.
