I think that I read somewhere that they restrict the performers... female ones, with a chest size that is too much different from the rib cage, since it throws their balance and rhythm off. They are amazing to listen to, and their arms must feel like iron.

You should look up an East Indian wedding some time. They hire drummers to play for the entire wedding. Sometimes that can be over 16 hours.

Nighthunter Hmm, that would make sense really. The women I've seen in a few of the videos did seem to be fairly small in the chest. It's a complete lifestyle immersion for these performers. They live together, train together, eat together, and play together. If you spend most of your time with a person, the theory is that your natural rhythms will align with one another. Even menstral cycles will change to be at the same time, most dominant female either first or last... I think it's last. Takes about three months to happen.
