But she soon spoke again and it brought a smile to his face. He had heard it all before of course. About how he was adventurous and inquisitive and curious. Somehow, though, he didn't expect the same of the people living out in the larger world. He stood corrected, not that it bothered him. "He does have a knack to show up about everywhere in the world for some reason." the elf said after a nod and with a slight chuckle. The bard had always been an inspiration for him. Teaching him about the other lands and keeping his adventurous spirit alive. And now he was here himself, in this other land just investigating a rumor that caught his interest.
The conversation soon turned to the more creative arts like singing and instruments, even sewing it would seem. "And you say I'm the inquisitive one. How many books have you read about instruments and the hobbies? That also requires a lot of reading and learning." he said and gave a gentle smile to the other. "It's good to have hobbies though, or so I have been told." Ayluin said and chuckled. Not until he escaped the dreary castle life did he really come in contact with hobbies and the like. Perhaps he should find a hobby of his own. "It is quite impressive that you made that yourself." he said about the hoodie after shaking hands and officially introducing themselves. Hearing her offer, the elf thought about it for a moment and then smiled.
"I would love to, but I also have another friend who is also quite new. Would you mind her coming along? We have agreed to explore Soleil together. But I am sure we would both benefit from the knowledge of a more settled resident." he said, not forgetting about Rowan for a moment, his first friend in Soleil. "Whether the myth I heard is true or not, I am just curious for it and how it works, as is she. The same about Soleil. That is why I'm getting these books." he glanced at the small stack before picking them up from the table and keeping them close. The young man always had been a fan of the books and scrolls. They sure were a lot more interesting than his father's teachings about politics and etiquette.
Setsuko blinked and tilted her head to the side slightly, "Wow he kind of sounds a bit like a traveling merchant in a video game. They always somehow up everywhere, especially if the players need them for a tough battle ahead." she said with a laugh, not completely sure if the analogy would make sense to the elf. It was just the first thing that came to her mind. At Ayluin's question about how many books she's read about her various hobbies, she ran her fingers through her long locks, "Well when it comes to sewing and knitting as well, I was taught the skills when I was younger by a.. close friend. Though we've sadly parted since that time, I wanted to get better at it so that if we did meet again some day I could show her that I've gotten quite skilled. My mother is actually quite the talented dancer and I've been dancing with her since I've been able to walk. When it came to singing, my parents signed me up for lessons as they had often heard me singing songs in my room, though I was a bit apprehensive about preforming for others, a bit of stage fright. I found a cookbook that was written by my maternal grandmother in our family library and was inspired to learn to cook. When she came to visit once I made a cake based off one of her recipes. It wasn't the best but she said I had an aptitude for cooking. So really it's been a mix of reading and just going out and doing it. Though I would never take back any of the experiences I've had over the years." she said with a fond smile.
At the compliment about her hoodie, her cheeks lit up in a light blush, "Oh my thank you, I'm happy that you think so. It did take some time to make it but I absolutely love it." She thought for a moment that he'd reject her invitation, but soon perked up at his words. "Oh is that so? Well I would be more than happy to show you and your friend around, the more the merrier after all." she said with a laugh. She liked helping people out, it offered an opportunity to meet new people. She peeked at the stack of books for a moment, "Well I'm admittedly not an expert on the myth of the Nanoa nor the island that supposedly houses it. Though I do hold a bit of an interest in it as well. A fruit said to bond soulmates, it seems like something out of a fairy tale." A thoughtful look crossed her face before she shook her head, "A-anyways with how mysterious the myth is, I'm not surprised that there have been books written about it. Hopefully those books hold some answers."

He had seen games since he came from his more underdeveloped land. If you could call it that. After all everything was beautiful and his people were far from barbarians. But they just didn't have all these modern things. It had taken the elf quite a while to get used to it. "Perhaps, he travels a lot. He would always come to our city and tell about his adventures. Now I am here in these lands he mentioned, having an adventure of my own." the young man replied, carefully avoiding mentioning his parents and the castle.
But when she explained about her hobbies, Ayluin fell silent as he listened to her. She sure told him a lot more than he bargained for, but it was interesting too. "I can't cook at all." the elf admitted. Their food had always been prepared for them and in the time he spent away from home and looking around and working, he never did get to learn more of it. Perhaps he should try. It would definitely be cheaper than visiting the restaurants every evening. But that was a worry for later. In fact he still needed to find a way to make an income for himself.
The money he used now was also to pay the house, so it might be good to find a way soon. For now though he would settle for the books. Ayluin looked up in surprise a bit when Setsuko spoke the latter words. "So the fruit is called Nanoa. I thought I understood as much from the gleans I had at the books so far." he said. "To bond soulmates huh?" he repeated after her, feeling a little down at the thought. It reminded him of his boyfriend whom had been sent away by his father once he had found out. Still, he came here to look at myths and he would not shy away from what seemed the most important legend of his new home. It wasn't like he could change what already happened after all.
Shaking the thoughts out of his heads, Ayluin looked at the stack in his arms and a last glance at the books in the shelves before he turned to Setsuko. "I think I'll go pay the books, before I bring a mini library home." he said and smiled a bit and glanced at the books behind Setsuko again. "I bet you already have that at your home hearing about your hobbies so far. A mini library that is." Ayluin did his best to pick the conversation back up after the story about the Nanao fruit. "I can wait for you if you want? Maybe we can exchange phone numbers or so for when we go explore the island with your help." he said a bit more lively. They did need to have a way to contact each other after all, how else would they find a date to hang out together?
Setsuko smiled and clasped her hands behind her back, "Well going on an adventure can be fun. I've always had ideas of going on a wild spontaneous adventure, perhaps because I read too many books and watch too many tv shows and movies. Though I don't think I could ever bring myself to actually do it, I've never really been the brave sort so they've been nothing more than daydreams." she muttered with a sigh. However when she thought about it, maybe her moving to Soleil on her own was a kind of adventure. It'd definitely be more her speed. But that was something to really contemplate later. After she had gone on her spiel, it occurred to her just how much she had talked. For a moment she worried that she had come off as rambling but shook that worry off as she heard Ayluin confessed that he didn't know how to cook. "Oh you don't? Well that's okay, I've always heard that it's never too late to learn something new. You just have to start out with something simple and build up from there, picking up a good cookbook would certainly help. Oh! I believe I saw some in the library, you should check there." she explained with a smile. She crossed her arms over her chest and nodded a bit, "Yes, it probably does sound like an odd legend. I doubt some people even believe in soulmates, though I think it sounds like a rather romantic concept. Kind of like the red string of fate, entwining two people together and not being able to be severed." While never having any kind of real romance herself, Setsuko couldn't help but remain a hopeless romantic at heart. At the mention of paying for books and having mini libraries, she couldn't help but rub the back of her head, "Ah well, I do have a good few bookshelves around my house, so yes I guess you could call it that." She tapped her cheek for a moment, looking back at her own stack of books. "Actually, I think I'm ready to pay as well. I've pretty much gotten all I've wanted for today. And yes it definitely would be a good idea to swap phone numbers, can't well make plans if we can't get in touch with one another. Come on let's get these books paid for." She turned to lead the way to the counter, pulling out her phone to give the elf her number.

OOC: We had one day filled with rain last Friday. Month's worth of rain in 45 minutes at that in one of the downpours. Caused all sorts of trouble around the country.

Ayluin said and smiled. When they spoke of cooking though, he knew she was right, he himself thought as much just before. Restaurants could get pricey and he no longer had someone that cooked his meals for him. But it was all part of severing ties with his old life he assumed. Now he had to become completely independent. "I'll check the library out later." he replied. Ayluin was pretty good with following instructions, so perhaps a cooking book ensured he would make himself good meals.
But he would visit the library after the store, only hoping he wasn't pushing it. The elf was still getting used to the more polluted air outside their forest which had never been touched by any exhaust of any type. For 346 years he had only breathed extremely clean air. Considering this he made a mental note he would probably need to go looking for shoes as well, now he walked streets more. The elf wasn't used to any type of foot covers. Ayluin sighed a bit as he thought of all this and more which he still had to go about to really live this life and it was enough to make his head spin.
He still listened to Setsuko though as she continued about paying and their phone numbers once Ayluin suggested it. The young man smiled a bit and nodded. They both did look like they were ready to check out. With that he walked to the cash register and paid for his stack before gathering up the books once more and holding on to them so he could take them home. It wasn't very far away from here, though it came with quite a slope. With his free hand, the elf took out his own mobile. He had never worked with them before he left the forest and it had taken him a while to get used to them, but he had managed in the end.
He looked up his phone number, passed it on to Setsuko and then noted her phone number in his own contacts list. "There we go and if you need an address as well, I live on 1252 Pasadena." he added in case the girl wanted to also save his address under the phone number. They would probably meet up somewhere halfway, but even then who knew if they would need addresses one time.
Saddie had gotten dressed for work this morning. From what she had heard, the employees at the bookstore in question were rather interesting people. Well, men. Mainly men. She had read up on them on the way towards opening up the store along with viewing the daily opening tasks. It caused a small smile to form on her lips to think what her 'fathers' would think. Neither of them liked the fact that she interacted with boys. Why? Because boys wanted one thing and one thing only. They should know, because they were those kind of boys back in their youths....and even when they found her. But the wolf wasn't a little girl anymore. She had moved out and was learning to live on her own. To make choices on her own and learning to understand many different things she simply didn't know. And what better place to learn things than a book store? There were so many different kinds of books. Self help books, romance books, world books, even books that could teach her about customs and what not to do in some social environments. Of course, there was nothing like first hand experience; but knowing a bit of what she was meant to do helped her out a lot.
Walking up to the store front, Saddie flipped the sign that said closed to open. It was just a matter of time before people started walking into the store. And just a matter of time before she had to start talking with her new co-workers. Just the thought of having to speak tired out the girl. Sitting around and doing paperwork? She could do that all day. All day every day. Having to speak in front of a few people? That was effort. Her actions spoke louder than she did. But...she wanted to be the manager of the bookstore to help her become more human. If only it could be so simple. Letting out a sigh, Saddie stood behind the cash register and waited for people to start coming in. Better to look like she was doing something rather than just doing nothing.

Benjamin’s days for the past two weeks were laden with nothing else but work and hobbies, focusing on his job as well as reading. But not that he would mind since he was used to that habit. Right now, he’s glad to be back in the bookstore on this fine morning. After he clocked in for work, he went inside, only to notice that young woman who came before him. He was then greeted by his fellow employees and was kind enough to greet them back, before focusing on the woman. Indeed, it was so good to be in such working environment, whether it would be slow or chaotic later on. Soleil was where he truly belonged. Still, he was planning to visit his adoptive parents soon; it had been a long time since he saw them, after all.
“Good morning, miss. Are you the new manager for the bookstore?” he asked. He was still going to clean up the store, but best to confirm some stuff with her first. “My name’s Benjamin, a sales associate for this store. Nice to meet you,” he then extended a hand for the other to shake, being polite and in a good mood.

“There. That should work for now.”
He smiled as he inspected his handiwork, a new way to arrange the books for one of the shelves. One hour left till his half-day shift would be over. Benjamin was contemplating on getting some Mexican food next since he hadn't been cooking or eating Mexican food for a long time. Benjamin had been eating nothing else but some sushi and leftovers in his house. A co-worker then called out to him, saying that they needed help for sorting out the comics. Benjamin was quick to oblige, moving in to get the job done as much he could.
It took around fifteen minutes considering that there was a lot of comics to be sorted out. Partially, customers wouldn't even bother fixing things up, but also the co-worker was a newcomer. Ben was patient in helping the other, and when the task was done, they apologized for the inconvenience and left him to his own devices. Progress would never be easy, but perseverance was important, so he would let that slide for now.

Ozwald took a drag from his cigarette as he walked down the street. He hadn't expected the weather to be chilly but he honestly did not mind. In fact he quite liked cold weather so going out for a walk was a good idea. The normally gloomy male was actually in a pretty good mood, surprisingly well rested and much less self loathing than usual. He soon found himself standing before Bookworms, not because he wanted a book but because he figured it'd be the best place to find his friend Benjamin. He took one last inhale before stubbing out his smoke then pulled out his last stick of cinnamon gum, he'd have to get some more soon. Letting out a sigh, he opened the door and stepped inside a lazy smile on his lips. Slowly strolling around the store he looked around for that familiar hair of blond hair. It thankfully didn't take long for Oz to find the other male. He casually walked over and lightly tapped Ben on the shoulder. "Hey man, long time no see." He greeted with a low chuckle as he chewed his gum.

Ben was asked by another customer about recipe books and he was quick to respond. He said thanks as the person left, only to feel a tap on the shoulder, followed by Oz's voice. He grinned as he gave the other a tap of the shoulder, knowing that it has been a while since their last conversation. “Indeed, it has been a long while. How have you been?” he asked, though his eyes took in the sight of whatever Oz was chewing at the moment. “Is that gum? Better dispose that somewhere safe when you are done,” he admonished gently, “Though do you want to have some lunch including Mexican cuisine? My shift will end at around lunchtime,” the blond suggested. Best to catch up when Ben's not that occupied with helping other people. And speaking of which, the newcomer carried a box of new books and ended up tripping down on their feet, wincing in pain.
“Excuse me, I'll be right back,” he spoke to Oz before leaving to help the coworker. At least the person was mostly fine, except the time lost to recover their wits after embarrassing themselves in front of everyone, especially the two. Ben just offered to carry the box and assist the other in sorting the contents out to the shelf reserved for new releases.

Ozwald shoved his hands into his pockets and gave a half shrug, "I've been good, finally got around to setting up my laptop and wi-fi even though I don't use the internet that much. Anyways what about you?" He stopped chewing his gum and scratched his cheek, "Oh yeah it is, no need to worry I'll toss it safely in the trash." He cocked his head to the side and let out a low him, "Mexican eh? That actually sounds pretty good, I haven't had that in a while." he said with a lopsided smile. Plus being able to hang out and catch up with his friend was definitely great. Hearing the sound of someone falling Oz looked over and saw someone, whom he assumed worked there as well, on the ground with a box of books. "Take your time, I'll just be out of your way. Might as well see if I can find anything interesting for my next visit." he said turning to walk down an aisle and peruse the books.
