Celsus Knight of Chronos - HP: 44 - Target: Xenotime

Her laughter was like razors on his skin, like ice in his veins. Celsus took another step towards her, his hand gripping the whip so tightly his knuckles were white from the strain of it, and he could hardly hear the rest of the goings on around them.

"I will," he said, and it was not a hesitant question, but a low, growled declaration, Celsus' lip curling. He pivoted sideways automatically as the shrapnel came flying towards him, the metal leaving a thin, tiny cut across his cheek before it smashed into the ground behind him.

"I don't ask for anything from bloody pathetic cows like you," Celsus snarled, and leapt, aiming a kick at her stomach.

Captain Moonstone - Fighting Kairatos!
HP 23 of 40
Attack Dice 1d10
Target: Kairatos for 5 DMG

Cinnabar's voice cut through the storm, welcome like fire after cold rain, as she brought pain to him via his vulnerable knee. Kairatos' praise was met with a flash of teeth and eyes wide with enjoyment; yes she was being hurt, yes she was fighting a worthy opponent - and one stronger than she - but it was so good!

Kairatos' gauntlet hit Moontone's face just as he'd intended, striking solidly and with a definitive crunch of bone; she went spinning away like a child's top, leaving him wide open for the tender ministrations of General Cinnabar.

Moonstone tasted copper and dirt as she pushed up from the ground; her vision swam, her cheek was already swelling and blood poured down her face and neck from a deep cut to her cheek left by the gauntlet. Dizzy or not, concussed or not, she wasn't about to fall out of the fight just yet! Pushing her battered body upright took a great deal of effort, but once she was on her feet things got a bit better. Or maybe she just stopped feeling it as much.

Because she went right back in, trying to catch Kairatos from the side while he was engaged with Cinnabar - and if he seemed to be fuzzy or she had tunnel vision, well. This was war. She'd hold it together..

Super Sailor Metis Fighting Moonstone Wasgo
HP: 31/40
Attack Dice: 1d10
Target: Wasgo (3 dmg)

=====

She really hated youma. When the rock hadn't quite done the trick she'd wanted, the creature spun about and caught hold of her. Her eyes went wide on reflex, her vision a jumble of energy waves that vanished into darkness, and the mass that was the youma the only other figure besides her own she could see. Metis screamed, trying to bash the creature's head and maw with her gloved hands, fingers digging at its gums trying to wrench its teeth from her. Her cries of pain were choked into gasps as the creature's jaws crushed down on her side.

The press of the metal, bent and contorted by the strength of the youma's jaws, were as much a blessing as they were a curse. Dimly, she was aware it was only by the grace of whatever had gifted her her uniform's design that the creature wasn't ripping a chunk out of her left side right now.

By her own struggles or the creature's boredom, she went flying again. The ground that came to greet her hit her back hard, her head smacking back against the concrete as she groaned, slowly turning onto her side in an instinctive attempt at shielding her injured abdomen. The burning sensation at her side, along with the liquid warmth, was all she needed to know the creature had more than broken the skin. Her nose wrinkled at the copper scent of blood, gagging against the oder and dizzying pain as she drew herself up into.... something of a sitting position. Metis' head spun from being thrown about like a rag doll, but it was likely only the adrenaline and fear of getting snapped up by those jaws again that pushed her somewhat upright. One of her hands found another piece of debris, hoping to use it as a newfound weapon against the brute.

More auras made her stomach churn. While at least there was an Eternal there to assist them--she hoped--the presence of a General made her sick. And did Kairatos just say something about there being civilians in the haunted house? Well good for finding them... now to just clear a path...

Youma Wasgo - Fighting Metis!
HP 5 of 20
Attack Dice 1d10
Target: Metis for 5 DMG

The senshi was stunned, momentarily, but then seemed to recover as the beast watched with one glowing eye. The atmosphere of the storm added to the over-all effect of of dangerous ship at sea, what with the way Wasgo's body creaked and groaned.

Metis had grabbed a piece of what looked like oily wood or perhaps rebar and as the youma closed it's jaws around her upper torso, jammed the bit into it's mouth, which prompted a yelp of pain and kept the beast from biting down.

Instead of mauled again, Metis would find herself swiped with one it's massive, clawed paws; bashed away as it swung it's head from side to side to dislodge the offending item like a dog with a porcupine quill in it's muzzle. Once the bit was free, Wasgo worked it's jaws at Metis and came back in warily, turning it's good eye to the senshi as a thin trail of black ash mixed with it's drool.

Wasgo kept it's distance, but watched. Waited. It would eat the senshi, yes it would. It was just a matter of time.

Super Sailor Metis Fighting Moonstone Wasgo
HP: 26/40
Attack Dice: 1d10
Target: Wasgo (9 dmg)

=====

At least she'd managed to keep the thing from taking another chunk out of her. It was a grim smile that briefly flickered across her lips as the senshi had shoved a piece of rebar up into the youma's mouth when it'd tried to bite down on her again. Not that it did her much good when the clawed paw struck her injured side. A gasp of pain mingled with the sound of her air being shoved out of her lungs, tumbling backwards from the impact and pain. Tears pricked at her eyes and Metis couldn't stop herself from whimpering.

She'd never been one for front of the line combat. That had always been Iris.

Gritting her teeth, she pushed herself up again, head spinning but somewhat stable enough to bring her back to her feet. Another piece of rebar was clutched in her hand while the other wrapped tenderly around her aching middle. She could feel the blood trickling down her side, the cloth of her skirts beginning to stick to her skin. How effective was senshi healing..? Licking her lips, she gave a soft, tentative whistle. Then tried again. "C'mere, boy. C'mon... here boy, come get the bloody stick..." Both a swear, and a literal description in this case after it had been passed between her hands a few times. Her boots crunched into the broken ground a bit as she moved towards the youma, watching it carefully. "Come on, boy... that's a good boy...."

Hoping she would be fast enough, Metis lunged, using the rebar like a spear to try and jam it into the youma's skull. Though logically she knew the eye sockets would be her best bet, her vision did not give her such detailed aspects of the figure she fought. She'd only have to hope her Super Senshi strength was enough to damage the damned thing.

Youma Wasgo - DUSTED!
HP 5 of 20
Attack Dice 1d10

Target: Metis

Wasgo watched it's prey, great paws and head going back and forth, back and forth. It's ears perked as Metis spoke, but the beast stayed back. It was not stupid! She had a stick - or something - and Wasgo would not come to her, no matter how sweetly she cajoled, but he was still a good boy! This was not Mistress, he did not need to listen to prey.

But...she was weak. He could tear her apart. The youma inched closer, head low and jaws open - ready to rend and tear. Thunder cracked the sky and distracted Wasgo momentarily at the same moment Metis lunged with her makeshift spear--

--pain bloomed and then exploded as the rebar jammed through Wasgo's head, splitting the already weakened youma. It howled and jerked away for a few long seconds, flailing with more and more chunks splitting off and falling to dust, before finally it seemed to go still in a contorted pose before...bursting apart and falling wholly to dust, carried away by the rising wind like so many dark petals.

Moonstone was not going to be happy about this.

Eternal Sailor Kerberos, Senshi of Asphodel -- 50 HP -- Attacking Moonstone and Cinnabar for FEELS DAMAGE!

Kerberos was not going to wait any further for an invitation. The Eternal strode in closer, making sure he was near enough to both Generals.

"Ladies!" He said, to get their attention. "I'd say I hate to do this, but I really ******** hate the Negaverse, ever since I got the hell out of it. So no. I don't. Asphodel's Requiem!" He spread his arms, and a field of flowers he knew only from his memories bloomed around him. When he had cast this as Ascended General Kerberos, they had been dead.

Now, they bloomed bright, their gentle scent a surprising extra perfume. He just had to hope that one other thing had changed - that it wouldn't take down Kairatos and the Super Senshi when it took down the Captain and the General.

And also, he hoped, that it would draw some attention to him, instead of to his two obviously beaten-down friends.

Quote:
Sailor Kerberos says the name of his attack and spreads his arms, and in a radius of ten feet around him, a field of asphodel flowers grows up. Anyone Chaos-corrupted within the radius experiences crippling grief and hopelessness. In addition, the affected characters see a vision of someone they care about dying or dead. If they attempt to interact with this vision, they will find it insubstantial and untouchable, and the illusion will vanish, but the feelings of grief and hopelessness otherwise induced by the attack will remain for the duration (as they're separate from the illusion itself). This attack lasts for 40 seconds. Sailor Kerberos can use this attack once per battle.

Kairatos Knight of Mars- Battling Moonstone and Cinnabar
HP-32 of 50 (I think)
Attack Dice: 1d12 -against Cinnabar

((Summoning net and attempting to do some lion taming))
((strike with net plus short burst magic 3-4 seconds))

This was getting to be too much, he was all for a fight, but he had been made uncomfortably aware of his limits, and taking on two people, one at his level, and one just below it... and still bleeding freely.

He remembered Cinnabar's conflict, remembered who she had been, and whirled as best he could on a throbbing knee and aching joints from the beating he was taking, summoning his net to give him the reach to slap Tannais with the horns on the net. Just a little magic. Just enough to bluff her.

"TANNAIS." He mustered his energy to shout, with as much air of command as he could. "It's not too late, let us find a way to help you!"

They'd been trying to find a way to help Bischophite, before the half youma had vanished entirely... there were avenues still not explored. He wanted to help her... but he knew in the pit of his stomach, you could only help someone who wanted help. Bischophite had wanted help. He had no idea if she did, and even if she did, the chances were she wouldn't be able to show it here. "Stand with Mars when you're ready, you know we'll be waiting for you to claim your true strength!"

Magic: (with Squire level info for clarification)
Magic: Touch effect from net: Using this net on an enemy causes a psychological effect that makes them start to see Kairatos as being especially intimidating, even beyond his abilities. A particularly strong foe might see him as more challenging than he actually is, and a weak one might even see him as an untouchable, force of battle. The same effect used (unusually) on an ally, would create the same psychological effect, though filtered through the ally’s knowledge that they’re on the same side, would be an encouraging force instead. Aren’t you glad he’s on your side? Aren’t you?
Total Duration: pool of 30 seconds. After this the actual magic wears off, and the other character can choose how they deal with this brief impression.

Knight: a weighted net such as a Retiarius might have.

Magic: Almost identical to his Squire magic, but now there is an actual drain on fighting spirit in foes, which is channeled from them, not to Kairatos but to the weakest present ally, to give them the vigor and strength to fight on. If there is no one in the battle other than Kairatos, then the fighting energy is simply dispersed after draining. Personal energy to, say, retreat, remains, but the actual desire to continue to fight fades.

((Weakest player in the battle can take a very tiny boost since this was a very small draw, no impact on magic, you just feel like you can go a little longer maybe. Rar.))

Amphitrite, Corrupt Senshi of Shells - HP: 24 - Target: Verona ( + Altair; take no damage)

A third attack with the needle points, this time, across her shoulder again - and this time enough to draw pin points of blood, and she hissed in response. Otherwise Amphitrite remained unphased, still smiling even, as she shoved the hurting page as hard as she could towards the senshi. "Have fun darlings!" she quipped as she turned and ran back.

And in spite of the purposes of the mission, what Jet had said, and everything else - she knew it was, for them, the right decision to return to the hostages, the sadistic look on her face fading to something softer. "There's no more time, " she breathed out, crossing the room towards them and kneeling beside them, untying them one at a time, quickly and efficiently.

First, the girl.

Second, the talkative boy.

Finally, the second boy, her fingers working deftly through the ropes in spite of the trickle of blood from her arm. "We have to move. I can get you out of here."

Altair, Senshi of Scalpels
HP: 25/30 (She threw herself in the way of Amphitrite's attack in an attempt to prevent Verona from being knocked out.)
Target: Amphitrite, Corrupt Senshi of Shells

"Sstop!" Altair threw herself forward in hopes of getting between Verona and Amphirite's attack. Then Altair used all the power she could muster in her body to stop moving with the force of Amphitrite's hit so as not to collide with Verona. She skidded backward in the process and fell forward to her knees. But she did not stay down, no, she felt convinced that the attacker is indeed one of the kidnappers. And her head jumped to thinking if she followed her, she would be led to the kidnapped civilians. And thus, Altair ran after Amphitrite, following her into the restaurant.

"Kidnapper," she exclaimed with her voice raised. "You were so brutal in your attacks and what for?! And now are you planning on another cruel way to inflict more pain on someone else, on more people?!" Altair ran forward at Amphirite, aiming to push her off her feet, with as much force as she could gather into her charge.

"She is not trustworthy," Altair spoke to the others with urgency while she moved toward pushing Amphitrite out of the way. And she rambled on in a frenzy. "Please don't go with her, use this chance to get way from her. Let's all escape from her and from here please! Please get out of here as fast and as far as you can! While I get in her way, please go escape first!"

General Cinnabar - Nega - HP: 41/50 - Attacking Kairatos

Blood welled up from the rake of her claws and Cinnabar grinned in feral pleasure. Yes… She wanted to see him bleed. She wanted to see him in pain. She wanted to see him struggle, desperate, but inevitably fail. A bright laugh broke from between her fangs as he called her name and she spun, preparing for another attack. Moonstone went down, but Cin could only spare her the barest of glances as she got up again, wounded by not defeated. Good.

Suddenly, there was some new Eternal Senshi approaching, spouting some inane, cliché nonsense… she wouldn’t have spared him a thought, until he shouted and magic bloomed around them, quite literally. A field of flowers spread around her feet and Cin darted backwards, knowing there was something coming, if she didn’t know what it was…

A figure appeared before her and Cinnabar froze, recognizing a familiar dark face and sexy smirk.

Kam?

Suddenly, he collapsed, falling to his knees as wounds appeared and blood ran red. Her heart leaped and fell again, grief and desperation flooded her till it lodged in her throat and choked her. This wasn’t real… it couldn’t be real. He wasn’t here… she would have known! The force of the feeling surprised her, but she found herself darting forward without realizing it, the vision dissolving abruptly as she reached for it.

Cin gasped out in relief and anger, still choking on the despair, when a net lashed out from the side and hit her hard with the barbs around its perimeter.

TANAIS!

The half-youma roared in anger as her vision darkened and everything seemed very far away. Hate, rage, rebellion flooded her mind and her stance lost some of it’s polish, her body more hunched and feral than normal.

“That’s not MY NAME!” She snarled as she lunged at him again, lashing out desperately at the figure in red and brown that seemed to loom with presence before her. She felt a drain on her desire to fight him… why should she? They were outnumbered and the civilian she had planned to corrupt would fall into her hands whether she won here or not. It would be better to retreat and regroup, to take stock of their new recruits. They didn’t have to risk dying here… it was pointless.

Amphitrite, Corrupt Senshi of Shells - HP: 19 - Target: None

The girl senshi came rushing after her - and that was fine. Better, really. Amphitrite's face read fear as she allowed the girl to push her, allowed herself to stumble and fall, her legs holding under her as she fell heavily to the ground with a cry. But the captives were untied, untied and freed, and -

She hauled herself back to her feet and, rather than attack the senshi - and she could have - the corrupt senshi instead sought to fling her arms around Altair, her eyes on the captives as she called, "Go! Please! Be careful! Don't let them catch you! The exit's outside to the left, straight down the way, hurry!"

Altair, Senshi of Scalpels
HP: 25/30
Target: Amphitrite, Corrupt Senshi of Shells

Altair was close to tears, shocked, sorrowful, and puzzled tears to be more precise. She was no longer one to cry as easily as she would her younger years, but still she was not immune to crying and fighting back tears. And the latter was what she was dealing with now among other things. "I don't understand you!" Her voice cracked with her furious words of confusion as she blinked multiple times to try to continue blocking herself from actually letting her tears fall as well as to keep her eyes clear for the most part.

And when she saw a broom handle, she reached for it and pushed it over the attacker's chest hastily. "Were you just trying to make the other fighter faint, so violently?! Should I try to do the same then, make you faint?! I think that yes I should but less violently! But I don't know if that's even possible either! Yet, I-I'm pretty sure it would be hard for me to pull off the same expression you had back there!" And a tear did escape to run down her cheek.

HAUNTED HOUSE - Proustite - NEGA
HP: 40, Targeting: None

"Stay with them. I will attend our new guests for the moment."

Proustite saluted Moonstone in the seconds before she teleported- listened to her greet Kairatos and Metis. Knew that he was going to have to hurry things along, if this whole hostage scenario was gong to end up worth the time and effort he had put into it. It was not often that Proustite got his s**t together long enough to be considered a competent soldier, and he felt that he was making progress with at least one one of their civilians.

Tristan listened when he spoke and laughed at his jokes. Tristan actually read the contract that Jack had toiled over for a whole fifteen minutes of painstaking thought and hard work. Proustite was not quick to affection or to judgement, but the more that Tristan spoke, the more Proustite was inclined to call him delightful.

Caitlin, on the other hand...

'What are you, five?'

'If you're going to try and bullshit someone, at least go to the ******** effort of making proper and official looking documents, not this layman's garbage.'

'Jackass! Untie us right now!'

'You're no Morpheus. You're just another Agent Smith. Shoo fly, don't bother us'

Proustite brought a hand up to his chest, covered his heart with his palm. Stared solemnly at Caitlin, as though she had delivered him some great wound. And then he was tilting his head to the side, lips twitching into a playful smirk. He wagged his finger again.

"No pizza for you."

Outside, s**t sounded like it was getting out of hand. Concern for Moonstone -mild, though it was- prickled at the back of his neck like an itch. Made his hair stand on end. He took a moment to listen. Thought about going to help her. It was not that Proustite couldn't fight. Every soldier had their training, and he had not survived Destiny City as long as he had without learning how to throw a punch. But he did not crave battle or blood in the same way that Moonstone and Cinnabar and Kairatos did.

Crazy bastards. Not a lick of common sense between them all. Just like this Caitlin girl, who did not have the foresight to even pretend that she liked the look of his contracts, or the deal that he was trying to offer her.

Agent Smith, indeed.

"Hold still," he said to Tristan, moving to untie his hands. He smiled when it was done, offered him the pen and dragged the contract closer. "Here. Help yourself to some pizza when you're done."

As for Caitlin... Proustite regarded her thoughtfully, weighed the pros and cons of letting her go. What was the point in keeping one defiant civilian hostage, when it put his colleagues at risk? Proustite could feel more than Moonstone's energy signature swirling outside the funhouse. He could give Caitlin up, in exchange for their lives- but there was no guarantee that the Order Soldiers would stand by their word. He pursed his lips, glanced sideways at Tristan.

"You should hide, friend." Proustite said to the other man, who could untie his own ankles now that his hands were free. He moved towards Caitlin, tucked his hands under her arms, dragged her to her feet. "I will find you again, and give you the red pill- but, take the pizza with you."

Captain Moonstone - Smackdown @ Kerberos!
HP 23 of 40
Attack Dice 1d10
Target: Spot for 7 DMG

Dazed still, Moonstone's head swayed towards the girly trainwreck of an eternal just in time to see his lips move and crappy senshi magic flooded the space. Fu-- Her thought didn't have time to finish, Kerberos' magic was pouring through her and zinging along her senses like slime; it took nothing before her battle-lust was cooling.

But before her, flashes and fragments of faces, of people - Kerberos' illusion didn't work so well on someone that had lost most of their memories...at least, not until it settled on one of the few things she truly cared about: Wasgo. Moonstone was treated to a show of her beloved youma not only being dusted, but perma-dusted, and she lurched forward to touch it's crumbling face...

Only to realize it wasn't real. Which pissed her off in an odd, sidewise sort of way - she felt hopeless and dizzy, nauseated from her concussion and heartsick from losing Wasgo (temporary or not). It was hard to lift her head, to stay on her feet.

"You." Moonstone fixed her gaze on Kerberos, pushing forward. He had killed Wasgo - his kind - and would do so again! This filthy traitor - so proud of his infidelity - deserved to feel her pain. She could hear General Cinnabar facing off with the Knight, distant and kind of muted now that her focus was so narrowed and wobbly, but it sounded...bad. It was this little mutt's fault. All his fault.

"I wanna talk to you...up close." Her voice ragged, the Captain dug her feet in and launched herself at Kerberos with a howl. swinging the totem bat for an over-head blow directed at the eternal's face. She'd tried the same thing, unsuccessfully, on Kairatos, but that didn't mean this Order dog would be smart enough to deflect to his shoulder.

And if he did? She'd just start hacking away at him, swinging her weapon in short, sharp arcs at his bared torso with a feral snarl on her face and foreign dampness in her eyes.
