Maybe because somebody read a book on bats lately and they're attracted to people who like them? xd Bats seem to get a bad reputation, even though they're really cute and gorgeous.

Okay. ^///^ I will try to incorporate what you ask. I have a loose sketch so far so I can always alter it. For the pose, I tried to make it loose and sort of relaxed, as though weightless, to appear to be hovering and with the wings fully outspread so the golden rods that were hidden will show.

Oh and I have a fairy legend to add to your list, if you want it. I've read in some stories that fairies or 'fae' possess a powerful magic (magick) known as 'glam' or 'glamour'. They can use it in multiple ways. Such as: to enchant people, powefully persuade them, confuse them, seduce them or trick them. It can be broken if the person can see through the illusions or can resist what they're being tempted with. And most importantly, one should NEVER eat their food. It's usually laden with strong spells (and can sometimes look like something delicious but actually be something disgusting under illusion). Plus, if you lose a riddle, challenge or game that the fae has set forth, you're under their control and have to do what they say/whatever conditions they set forth for the loser. I haven't researched all that much, but I know there is way more about them (and their magic)...Aren't fairies amazing? biggrin

Hmm...maybe by hanging them up and drying them? Drying them in the sun? Boiling them and stuffing them?? It's...rather a grisly subject. XP

In that case, I feel a little better. Ha ha.

Make sure (if she isn't specific about it) and give her a picture of blood, or the word 'blood' instead. mrgreen

Lol. Then again, making a peace offering in the form or cookies or other such sugary substances can often be very effective...

*paints another black ring and pretends they're glasses*

I see! : O Lol, everyone knows bats are cute! It's just wierd to see them flutter at you in pitch black.

Sweet! Yeah, the reason I ask is 'cause that's actually a bit more realistic than the full tall, skinny adult I drew... >.<; *sucks at children's porportions*

So, "Fairies have 'glamour'!" and "Fairies poison their food..?" and "Fairies like riddles, wagers, and games, with Consequences!"? I need to print out/write down these so I can work on the Omirao side of them even when I don't have access to the computer. XD And fairies are, indeed, awesome.

Eee. >.<;; Yes, yes it is?

Lol, she hasn't made her demands yet... XDD

Lol! Meyaira Potter!

I’ve never had one fly at me during the night time. I have seen the flying foxes that live here migrating in a huge colony before though. Every year at a certain time they fill the whole sky, flying silently in the dusk. They’re very pretty to watch.

Oh, I see. I was using that sketch of yours to go off of. Lol. It’s a good thing you told me to alter it back there otherwise he would have been way too tall! I have it mostly drawn now and just need to colour him in. ^_^ I gave the children’s proportions a go. I didn’t find it easy, so I just did my best. I think…it doesn’t look that bad. Ah ha ha! (I can imagine it in my mind but I find people are hard to draw).

Yes, fairies are super awesome cool! XD

Mm…I decided to do some more research on them actually, now that I found a few legends about them. So I got some books from the library this afternoon. I can let you know my discoveries if you like.

I also remembered that in some stories, fairies are said to be strongly connected with nature (look after streams and rivers, can communicate with plants an animals, help things grow…gain healing from nature and can even look like things from nature, such as jewels, flowers and flames) and are sometimes called ‘nature spirits’. Though, it depends what kind of fairy they are. You can make up a completely new kind and break all the rules. Lol.

Oh, and they have the ability to shift between their realm and the human realm. They can also cloak themselves in invisibility to hide from humans.

M-maybe you should ask her?

Ha ha! The Harry Potter books are wonderful. I did used to have a pair of black rimmed glasses actually but I got new gold rimmed ones when my prescription changed.

When we go camping, they're all over the place over our heads. >.<; It's actually spooky, 'cause all you see are sillouettes(sp?). Until you have to go to the dang bathroom. T.T

Yeah, my sketches aren't often very accurate. XD They're just attempts. I'm working on it, though! >.< AND I have another person drawing him too!! <3 <3

Please do! : D

I think I put that in already. ^^

I need to add that, though. >.< Um... "Fairies have more than one world?"

I should... >.>;

They are! I've been reading them since the second grade! >.< <3 <3

Aw... : ) Now I'm in the mood to re-read the Harry Potter series. Even though he's a bit of a butt in the later books.

'Silhouettes' is how that one is spelled. smile

Ha ha, sounds like camping is interesting. I've never been camping before except on school camps and I have to say, I didn't quite enjoy the experiences.

Aw, I think your sketches are good. Keep practising and I'm sure they will improve, bit by bit. 3nodding The most important thing I find when it comes to drawing, is to have fun.

Yay! That's so good. More pictures of Omirao to decorate the quest thread! whee

Oh. ^///^;; Oopsie. Didn't mean to go over the same material...sorry about that.

That sounds about right. 3nodding In the Celtic mythology and legends books I've been reading, they say fairies have their own realm/s alongside the human world. You can use that in your story or not...if you use it, you may end up writing about multiple worlds and kingdoms though, so I'd keep that in mind.

Lol. I'm sure she will forgive you eventually for killing her. Maybe. Hopefully.

I've read all of them as well and I really like how they ended. I don't like some parts of the books but I like them overall.

Ah, there's an "H"! >.<

Camping IS interesting. : ) And fun, believe it or not. It's just really different from other kinds of vacations.

How come school camps weren't fun..? O.O;

Indeed. XD I just need to work on relaxing when I draw... : O

Hm... >.> . . . . <.< . . . . O.O

Uh-huh. It's okay though - you almost had it right. Please let me know if I make any spelling mistakes too, I'd be happy. Lol.

I should go camping with my family one time. We have some beautiful islands around to camp at but we've never tried it before. Some people like going to Lady Musgrave Island around here.

Well, they were freezing cold (it was the south Island in NZ, ah ha ha!) and I was really homesick the entire time. And my anxiety played up very badly. I enjoyed some parts of them to be honest, but they weren't really my thing. I think it would be different if you go with your family and just have fun. 3nodding

Listening to music and having a good strong light source (such as sunlight) can help. And a favourite/good pencil and supplies that you enjoy using.

That's okay. No need to apologise. smile I don't mind.

I sent the finished fan art to you in a PM. Ehehe...

I live in a desert. o.o;

I see. o.o I don't think I've ever been homesick... I have a lot of fear and stuff, but it's never worried me to be away from home. ^^ School trips and family trips are a lot different. I like them both, but for different reasons. XD

I'll... try. >.<; I think I'm gonna have to forego the sunlight, though. Too hot here.

I LOVE IT!! gonk

...you put my name in capslock? == ohgosh. I'm glad you didn't lose too much blood!! blaugh

Ah! I can answer that one. =^_^= The edit button is just above your post, to either the top left or top right, next to your avatar. There should be three grey buttons: 'quote' 'edit' and 'X' (X is for deleting your post).

Oh, I see. Well, that certainly is a contrast. *laughs*

I get homesick easily but that may be because, for me, home is a safe and good place to be. If I'm having a good time, I usually forget about the homesickness. But those other times, I wasn't. >.>

Completely understandable! It's way too hot here in the summer as well. And the humidity can climb very high. In winter it is gorgeous though.

Thanks. I'm glad you like it. biggrin Anything I have an excuse to use glitter for, I'm happy to draw it. xd
PostPosted: Fri Jul 02, 2010 1:39 pm

What's wrong with Capslock? o.o;

It wasn't there when I asked. >.<; They must've been messin' with the codes or something, 'cause other guild members I know had problems too...

What's a contrast, the desert thing? ^^

I'm one of those people who just takes things as they come. It's a good thing, because I can be happy in just about any situation, but it's also a bad thing because I can't plan ahead very well, and I never really feel a reward after working hard to earn something--everything seems like it just happened, out of nowhere, with little connection. >.<; It sucks, 'cause no one really understands my total lack of motivation for things or how I could NOT understand how doing this will get me that. For me, when life sucks, it sucks, and I can't visualize how letting it suck now will make it super later. o.o; I think it may be a maturity issue?

I love it! >.< ~<3

Everyone notices it. =^///^=;;

Ohh, that may be why I couldn't post in a rp thread before. I kept clicking 'submit' and it wasn't working but now it's fixed again.

Yep! We live in a tropical place. blaugh And before that, NZ, which is all green and pretty, though it's quite cold.

Hmm, maybe. I can't say I know much about that. =^.^= But at least it helps to know that for all the downs in life, there's always ups to look forward to. 3nodding

Hee! mrgreen Maybe I should stop being so nervous about my drawing and draw a little more... redface
PostPosted: Sat Jul 03, 2010 7:48 am

Lol, AND I linked it, so It's also colored amongst all that blandly black text. >: D

Yes. >.< That happened too, but it got fixed so quickly (to me) that I didn't feel the need to comment...

Cold? :3 I like cold places. Deserts can be cold... In january. Maybe feburary, sometimes. We get snow. o.o; Then it's up in the 110's for august. T.T

Lol, that came out of nowhere, didn't it? XD I was trying to think of why I never got homesick. >.< It was because I didn't really dwell on how they weren't there. I just concentrated on what I had. o.O; It's cool if someone doesn't want me to suffer from missing them, but it sucks 'cause I get yelled at for being the worst at long distance relations. I could love someone desperately, and still forget them entirely. -.-; No, that's not a contradiction.

Yes. o3o You should. You're a great drawer!

Gah, I dun wanna gew tew work!! T.T Nine hours!! 10 AM to 7 PM!! SHOOT ME!

BTW, Love your new Avi. ; )

Eep. eek I know. It’s unmistakably THERE! Inyourface un-missable, saying ‘click me plz!’ (I clicked it to see where it led. LOL). As a person who likes to remain mostly invisible, I wasn’t sure what to make of it at first. Ehehe… redface

I am very touched, however. =^_^=

Where I live, we have mild, pleasant winters that sometimes nudge you to use a few extra blankets or put a warm top on but never more than that. Occasionally it rains and it’s also a great time for cosmetics stores and chemists to sell moisturisers. XD Things get a bit dry and crackly since there’s less humidity and rainfall. We never get snow, but I remember having some in NZ. It’s so beautiful.

The rest of the year, it’s hot and sticky and some degree of uncomfortable, even at night. We get wonderful storms in the summer though. No rain…no rain…still no rain…BOOM! Fantastic storm downpour! Sometimes we get lightning storms then too. Since we live on a hill, we watch them from our house. We also have a great view of the stars from up here as well as the surrounding land. It is very pretty.

It’s fine. I don’t mind reading such things. I’m happy to listen to others, even if I don’t always have good advice to share. Anyway, concentrating on what you do have is a good practice. I try and do that too but I should try and do it more often. It really helps to put things in perspective again…or look at them from a different one. =^_^=

Hmm, I’m not sure how you could truly forget someone if you loved them so much. But everyone is different.

If they really wanted you to remember them, I guess they’d find a way to call or text or keep in touch to remind you. Hee!

You’re going to make me all embarrassed! =<-///o>= Lol.

Well…in that case, maybe I can practise drawing more of Omirao some time. I got some more drawing pads and a canister of pale pink superfine glitter today but somehow, I don’t think that’s his colour. mrgreen

NINE Hours? Wow, I’ve never worked that long before. O.O I hope you get a lunch break and somewhere to sit down for a while if you’re going to be working that long. Longest I’ve been on my feet rushing around for (without a proper break) is eight hours and I was tuckered out by the end of it.

Ehe, thanks. =^.^= I just like to dress her in different outfits every once in a while. There are so many wonderful items to try out. (Mostly I do that on Tek Tek though. It's FREE and you can use whatever items you want to. biggrin Very addictive.)

Oh, I meant to ask…do you have any ideas of what Omirao’s child would be like? Or, is it a surprise? :3 (In any case, I’m sure they’ll be CUTE).
