Being escorted to another spot that was less crowded would be much better, though the hold on the small of his back was like a brand scorching his pale skin. Benjamin's grip on the bouquet tightened slightly, and was thankful that the flowers concealed his quivering hands. A small blush coated his face at the mention of a possible date. "I admit that... I'm not used to having dates that much, so it's okay, even if it's in a once in a while basis." In fact, he only had one date with Yosuke before the human was gone from existence, and after that, he stayed single for a long time. Plus, he had to make sure that their schedules would be less packed, because that would suck in case there would be an emergency and the time would have to be cut short because of that.
In fact, he was so lost in his thoughts that he only belated recognized the smell of the orchids after Night described that to him. And when he felt that gentle cradle on the head, followed by the kiss on the lips, his mind went blank, blush deepening even further. Benjamin had to pause for around ten seconds before responding. "Will a movie at the cinema suffice for today? I haven't had watched anything good outside of my house for a while." The half-demon wouldn't expect something too grand for the date, anyway, as long as it would be something worthwhile. But before the conversation between them may be cut short, he was asking something else. "Also, are you going to buy something here from this bookstore? We do have some few new novels available for purchase. Maybe you can buy one as a way to pass the time."
After all, it may be possible that Night may be looking for something to read, whether it's related to his business or interests, or a fictional material that will keep him intrigued, aside from having to check on him from time to time, whether through personal meetings or via texts. All to keep the business going aside from the personal changes in his life,

Going by his facial expression, Night almost thought that he broke him, a chuckle his next response when Benjamin finally answered him. Since his face was still close, Night gave him one more kiss before completely pulling away with a pleased grin. Mission accomplished!"A movie sounds great. And if isn't too late, maybe lunch?" He suggests as he crosses his arms over his broad chest. Today was their date day! And Night already felt like it would be a lot of fun.
If he was lucky, which he usually was, Night could lay claim to Ben's entire day, but they would have to see about that one. "You know, I am glad you fell asleep that night. If we had done something and then hung out, I would have felt bad for doing things backwards. My father raised me better than that, I should remember how to properly treat you." Giving a charming smile, Night nods his head before looking around them at the shelves they had on each side. It wouldn't be a bad idea to add to his collection at home."Sure, I mean I can't keep you back here and woo you on the rest of your shift. Gotta find something to do while you work. What better way to pass the time than book browsing?"

Benjamin was happy to know that Night was happy with the suggestion for the little date, his hands no longer shaking but still holding onto the bouquet like it's one thing that he should cherish for a long time. When the kiss was administered again, the half-demon appreciated the warmth that grew from that gesture, and the skin contact on the small of his back was absent, though he wished that it would stay a bit longer, at least at the back of his head. At the question about the possible lunch that may ensure before the movie, the sales associate pondered about the choices, but eventually, he narrowed it down to the two establishments not far from his workplace. "Burgers and fries, or sushi? That's the food selection available in the same district as this bookstore." Again, nothing too fancy, as long as both would enjoy the meal.
Benjamin was glad that Night was considerate of his role at work; the rest of the enjoyment between those two would wait until the date would commence. "Just let me know if you find something good. I should at least find somewhere safe for these orchids for the time being. I'll be right back," he spoke before leaving to the employee area for the sake of keeping the flowers secured until he would pick them up again later. Luckily, the manager was kind enough to provide a temporary container for the flowers to stay intact, for easier handling until Ben would bring them to his Ombre house later on. After all, he couldn't carry the gift all day and he may end up keeping his hands full with more potential requests incoming from other customers aside from the man who haunted his mind and heart.
Once the flowers were kept standing on an empty mason jar filled partially with water, the blond inspected the handiwork with a pleased expression. But he would only appreciate the gift for a few seconds before he walked back into the bookstore, resuming his duties.

Night was never a picky eater. anything that was high in protein worked for him. Everything was practically game, raw meat and all. So when burger and fries were mentioned, he nod his head quickly. Sushi was good and all, but he would always choose red meat if he had the option."It may not be a glorious meal, but the predatory side of me will always go for a heartier meat. Burgers and fries would more than great for me. I have to eat a lot of sushi for me to stay full, even with all that rice. My body kind of just easily burns anything off that isn't meat." He claims as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. Most people were kind of controversial when it came to fast food, but it didn't really matter to him as long as he was getting the substantial amount of food he needed, being a walking garbage disposal in-a-way.
"I will be a good dog and do some browsing while you work.~" He says as he watches Benjamin walk away with the bouquet gift. While Benjamin went to work, Night kept up his promise and quietly browsed around the establishment. He didn't read as though his life depended on it, but he usually enjoyed a good book when he was by himself at home. It was the best time to read too. You could give all of your focus to your book and let your imagination run wild. It was probably a good idea to get a new book that he could get invested in when he was at home alone. It would have to be on one of his days off, his nights seeming to be filled with work. He needed to make more time for himself, or time to his dad and uncle again.

As soon as he was back, there was a total of ten customers asking for his assistance, and luckily, none of them were asking personal questions of what was going on between him and Night, as they must have arrived way after the little moment between them. Unfortunately, two of the novel titles, as well as four volumes of one comic series, were out of stock, and they were informed by Ben that they may have to come back some other time. Obviously, most of them were disappointed, but there was nothing they could do about it. When they left Bookworm's, he was back to arranging the shelves, but he took a glimpse of his crush browsing through what he could possibly buy. The pleasant flutter in his heart returned, but he left the bartender alone before Ben could catch himself smiling like an pillock.
A few hours had passed, and it was finally time for Benjamin to clock out of work, having to arrange his things in his bag and making sure that his locker was kept secure. Of course, he didn't forget about the blue orchids as Night's courting present, so he carried it with one hand. Thanks to the mason jar, it was a bit easier for him to carry the flowers as he left the employee area and arrived back to the front, saying goodbye to his co-workers and then searching for Night, ready for the date. But of course, the flowers would have to be kept safe in his house first.

He held his end of the promise and kept to himself while Benjamin was busy working. Benjamin hadn't disturbed him while he had been busy with customers, it was just courteous to show the same respect. Besides, the last thing he wanted was to get Ben into trouble and ruin his relationship with the blonde. Yes, it was best to just be respectful for them both. So, even though he wanted to tease Ben every time he saw him passing, he refrained from doing so. Though, it didn't stop him from watching the man move around the store. Either he was stocking books, helping customers or managing small tasks here and there. It was...cute, to see him work so hard.
Luckily, the rest of the time flew by and Night was soon making his way to the front to wait for Ben. He hadn't purchased anything after all, but he did get the chance to better browse the bookstore for later purchases. He would make light conversation with a few people until finally, noon passed and Ben was heading his way over with the flower bouquet he was given. The wolf grins as he wraps his arm around Ben's shoulders and walks with him the rest of the way to the door, removing his arm to hold the door open for the blonde."Ready to go Benny? We'll be dropping by your house first right?"

The faint smell of the orchids tickled Ben's nose as he made his way out of the bookstore, only to feel Night's grip on his shoulders before being escorted out of the door with the bartender being the gentleman that he always was. The question about going to the house was heard, though the half-demon took a small glimpse at the lips that kissed him earlier before nodding, a small smile forming on his mouth. "That's definitely the first thing to do before our date will commence. Perhaps I should put the flowers in the living room, my own room or near my private library." He was still unsure on where exactly in his house that he would keep the flowers,but one thing was for sure: he would treasure the orchids as proof that Night was starting to get affectionate with him, and it may continue on from there.
Once they were outside, Benjamin's bicycle was parked securely within the bicycle section of the parking lot, and he had to unfasten it before getting it from the spot. He made sure that the belongings, including the flowers, were tucked securely in the front basket before he hopped in. "I'll be pedaling carefully to keep the flowers safe. Stay close to me, okay?" that was all he said before he pedaled off to the streets, allowing Night to follow him with his vehicle if the other so wished it to be. Plus, the close company of his crush was definitely pleasant, something that he hadn't experienced for a long time, not like his past friends and acquaintances who had known him a long time ago.

Night smiled as Ben talked out where to place his flowers, a warm feeling spreading through the man's chest. if he were to be honest, he would want it to be a place where been could see it everyday. Whenever he woke up, and whenever he went to bed. Because Night was a wolf, and the territory thing was a big deal to him, Ben placing the floors in his personal bedroom, was like a way of Night marking his presence in the home without having to actually do it. Normally, he would make his presence known by taking the inhabitant of the home, letting his scent even overpower their own. Basically, he was marking his territory in a very intimate way so that the person was a walking sign that read, "Night's Property". "I vote that you should place them into your room. It would make me feel better knowing that you still have a way to remember me, even when we are apart." It was a little chummy considering that they weren't even dating, but he was okay with that. being forgotten was a painful thought for the bartender. He always liked to think that he left an impression on every person that he has ever met.
"Besides, I feel like it is a great way to ward off other guys. I will warn you now, if I gain an interest in someone, I like to be the only one that has their interest in return. Wolves can be a little possessive over what they consider theirs. So if I get a little too passionate, please let me know."He claimed on a grin, his hand reaching into his pocket to grab his motorcycle keys."Alright, I will try to keep close, but if I don't, I will still met you at your place. I remember where it is." Waving, Night walks ahead towards the parking lot so he could get onto his bike as well to catch up with Ben.

 To have successfully completed the interview and to start her job on the first day? Victoria was either incredibly lucky or they were desperate for hires. Either way it worked out for her favor either way since she needed to provide for her and her brother. Since Victor was still so new to the world, she couldn't possibly force him to try and hold down a job when he could barely walk past anything without having to pick it up and investigate it with interest. On top of that his social skills were a tad lacking, she had made sure to teach him the basics but it was difficult since he would rather be so much more hands on than her. None the less she was given a temporary name tag and she would stand at the register after being taught it's basic functions and how to work it "It's rather empty here...well if that is the case..." she would reach under the register and pluck a book that was currently sitting in a defective pile. She would look at it and see that a portion of the paperback's front cover was torn off but honestly there was nothing wrong with it, the story inside was still just as good, just a tad damaged. She thought it was a shame that they were discarding it but none the less on this quiet day she would open the novel to chapter one and begin to read it, making sure to keep an ear open if anyone walked into the door. Which nobody did for a good amount of time and when it was finally time for her to clock out she'd finished the novel she was reading and shook her head "If this is all I have to do then this should be an easy job..." she muttered to herself as she moved from her spot at the cashier and picked up her purse and would walk to the back to clock out. Of course she forgot to remove her name tag and instead of leaving she chose to begin browsing the mystery books since the ending of the one she finished hinted at a sequel.

The date with Night was definitely a moment to remember for Benjamin, but it was time to be busy again, more so when there was a slow yet steady stream of customers dropping by. He had just finished cleaning the counters and arranging the stocks so that they would be placed neatly on the shelves. Basically, work day was slow, but otherwise, it was mostly peaceful. After he was done helping out a couple with the novel recommendations of the romance genre, he bid them goodbye as they left the bookstore. His blue eyes took in every scene of the place, making sure that everything was safe. A small smile crept up his face, mostly because of how he felt towards the wolf who had been in his heart and mind for a long while now.
Prior to him showing up for work, he had bought some groceries to refill his pantry, $30 worth of them to be exact, and was informed that a new cashier was hired, taking Soren's place. Co-workers coming and going was the norm for him, since personal matters couldn't be stopped. Nonetheless, the British lad was curious as to who that new cashier would be.

~Victoria Jones~Victor brought home a Kitten. She could not believe her Baby Brother. She let him wander and do as he pleased and this was what she got from it. The young woman would sigh she remembered how he learned to get what he wanted from her. To think he figured out to remove the bandanna and give her the puppy dog eyes was what did the trick. Well he somewhat figured it out as the larger man had explained that he saw it on TV and decided to practice on her. Her idiot of a brother got what he wanted again, she was too soft with him she swore. Although she did admit that the Kitten that he aptly named "Vic" and she would quickly point out his lack of creativity in the naming department. Of course he would say that he liked their names and blah blah, in the end SHE needed to be the one to go down to the pet store in order to get all the supplies the kitten needed, what a nuisance Victor could be sometimes.
None the less she would arrive at work five minutes early and would walk directly to the back and punch in the time clock. She would the pin her name tag up and walk back out as she took her place her register and would fold her arms with a relatively neutral expression as she gazed around the room looking at the few people wandering and browsing. Her gaze would then settle on a young man not too far away with his own work outfit on. She didn't recognize him from yesterday, maybe the manager that she was told of? Oh she was staring. What did humans do in this situation again? Ah yes. She would put her hand up as would give a tiny practiced smile to the other man as she hoped her actions weren't considered odd. While she was much more worldly than her Baby Brother she was still very new to interacting with humans and proper etiquette.

A little child being excited for a book was something normal for Benjamin to notice, something that reminded him of his childhood. But that was a long time ago, and it was only when he moved to his adopted family that he became like himself again. It was then that a refined-looking female caught his eye, with her hand extended to him; she must be the new cashier mentioned by the manager. Knowing that nature of being cordial, Benjamin approached his new co-worker with a smile, accepting the handshake. "It's a honor to meet you. My name's Benjamin Harris, or Ben for short, working in this bookstore for a long time as a sales associate. You must be the newly hired cashier, Miss...? Pardon me for the confusion, since I'm making sure that we can address each other properly with the allowed names or nicknames aside from such formalities."
In fact, he was used to being called Benny by Night already, and Benjamin had the urge to do the same, though it was a childish habit. But for her sake, he should at least ask for consent to ensure that he wouldn't accidentally reach towards her bad side.

~Victoria Jones~He was approaching fast. This was good as she had no idea what to expect. Thankfully it seemed like everything was going how they should be during first time introductions. A firm handshake to show confidence was important if she understood human etiquette correctly. She would then give another practiced smile as she nodded her head at his introduction and his position in the store "It's no issue at all, I understand" now she had to maintain eye contact as it was considered polite "A pleasure to meet you Benjamin, my name is Victoria Jones" she would introduce herself before deciding that an amused smile would fit the situation at the current moment "I don't quite have any nicknames so I suppose Victoria will have to do!" he manner of speech may come off as a tad awkward as she was trying her hardest to simply appear as a normal woman. She just hoped that nothing stood out too much how she carried herself "I'm certain that we'll get along fabulously!" Victoria would comment as she gave another smile that she made sure to practice in the mirror.
