Gidget listened intently to everything Trinity said. She was afraid something like that would be the case.

"To be honest, I kinda knew something like this might happen. She's had several psychological screenings done to determine the extent of the damage done by her upbringing and her psyche being split into four parts. She's not quite a sociopath, but she does have difficulty grasping empathy. She's driven by pleasing others, and she'll follow directions to the letter without regard for wiggle room."

"I think she needs more time learning care over combat. I'll talk with Freya about it after-"

Trinity's phone buzzed with a custom ringtone to let her know it was Freya trying to contact her. The message read"

Trinity! I need you to come to Liam's apartment and arrest me or something! I did something stupid and I can't go back out there and face him! Just make something up and get me out of here! Please please please1!!!!!

Roland did, in fact, squirm. He tried desperately to shake the vision of a massive eye in a sky made of flesh from his mind. "What the ******** winced as she reached for her phone. The adrenaline was starting to wear off and the pain of the stopped bullet pulsed from where it impacted. She was about to speed dial Trinity when Roland's shadow seemingly grew a mind of it's own and looped itself around his joints, torso, and neck. A chilling, yet familiar, voice echoed from the pitch black.

"You've ******** up one time too many, Roland. Time for me to cut your strings."

With a quick snap at each contact point, the loops broke Roland until he was left crumbled and bloody. True to his word, Eclipse had left the man to look like a broken macabre marionette puppet. The loops retracted, and one last echo slithered from the shadow.

"Well played, girls. See you on the moon."

Heather dropped the phone from shock and stared at the broken pile that used to be her much hated business partner. It was so sudden. So violent. She felt nothing for the man, but she could feel something build from her spine to her scales. Animalistic fear.

"Liv...we should probably go." she breathed.

All around Knoxburg, many attempts were made to storm the homes and businesses of metahumans that had been confirmed by the surveillance of The Prometheus Watch. "Attempts" being the operative word. Much to the shock of the potential victims, their assailants found themselves crippled by terror. It was not until some of the militiamen had been chemically relaxed that they explained what had happened.

The moment they leveled their weapons to kill a citizen, visions of what could only be described as Hell invaded their minds. Yet none of their descriptions of Hell matched. Sure, there were common themes based on the supposed faith of those that had been afflicted, but their experiences seemed to be largely unique. Almost as if their visions of the afterlife were tailor made for them.

Law enforcement and other officials were unable to offer any explanations. Psychologists later labeled the phenomenon "spontaneous memento mori." Each of the assailants had been given a stark reminder, and warning, of what awaited them in the afterlife should they execute their plan. Experts assumed a metahuman was responsible, but the sheer scope of the event led them to abandon any further inquiry. Whoever had done it, whatever their reasons, had a power that frightened them to their core. A power that transcended the physical plane and warned of experiences beyond life. Truly, the person responsible was a being so terrifying that they could only be described as a god.

Alec Yates lay on his side with his head resting on his hand. His other hand stroked a few stray hairs Kerana's face as she softly sang to her and gazed into her eyes with the deepest adoration.

"...I'm caught in dream, and my dreams come true. It's so hard to believe this is happening to me, an amazing feeling coming through."

He moved his hand to cradle her cheek and continued. "I was born to love you. With every single beat of my heart. Yes, I was born to take care of you . Every single day of my life."

He smiled brightly. His mind was clear of any doubts or traumas as he savored that moment with the love of his life.

Ravan looked up at Sara and blinked. Even in her haze she could tell that her friend was worried about something. She did not think it was her health, she had already confirmed she was okay. It had to be what the ship had mentioned earlier. The ship had not moved, so they still had a little time to talk.

"Hey, what's wrong? Izzit cuz of what the robot voice said? I've actually have a big secret that only a few people know about. I'm scared you'll be afraid of me if I tell you all the things about me. I'm a really scary person, and I don't want you to be afraid of me."

Liv had seen this happen in one of the potential futures with her Infinity Eyes but she had hoped it wouldn't happen here. Cranking her eyes up to the maximum trying to see if she could at least do something to Eclipse. But it was over too fast. Closing her eyes, she breathed out and her eyes became her baby blue color again. Turning away from the mess that had become Roland, she looked at Heather again, visibly affected by it all. Even she felt a bit sick to the stomach.

"Yeah....let's" She picked up Heather's phone before blinking them back to their apartment.

"You okay?" Liv gentle cupped Heather's face."You need anything? Can I get you something?"

Trinity's phone buzzed with a custom ringtone to let her know it was Freya trying to contact her. The message read…



Trinity looked to her phone and saw Freya‘s message. Her eyebrow raised and she thought Really Freya? She sighed to herself.

She considered that Gidget wanted to talk to her but she wasn’t going to let her off the hook that easy.



”Hey Gidget, looks like now is a good time for you to talk to Freya. She needs me to pick her up… Be right back.” She considered sharing where she was picking her up from but she felt like she put her sensei through enough.

Trinity sends a text and schedules it 3 minutes in advance. She drops through her shadow and offers her hand out of the shadow. A couple of minutes after Freya stepped through to join Gidget and Trinity Liam received a message.


“Freya, we have some concerns regarding Theresa and how she handled her latest mission. On the one hand, she did fulfill the requirement on the other hand it was done with little to no discipline and no empathy. Regardless of them being on the wrong side of this fight, they are still misled human beings that we need to take into consideration.” Trinity sighs to herself, “There are times like these I wish he was here to help with the discipline part.” Trinity looked down and thought of Teshoumaru.

She held him close. Her eyes closed as they finished she let out an almost feral sounding howl she covered her mouth at the sound that came out of her. Unlike the first couple of times it sounded more womanly. Regardless every time she truly understood why Gidget was thankful for sound proofing.

Her breath was slow and stuttering. “I dunno what you brought out of me my love. But it’s safe to say you drive me wild.” She kissed him deeply. In the silence of that kiss her kitsune ears rotated and captured a buzzing. She reluctantly pulled away, interrupting the kiss. The buzzing came from his pants. “I think you have a call.”

I guess all good things have to come to an end. She got up smirking to herself she showed off her assets as she strolled over. Dropping down balancing on the balls feet and the tips of her tails. Her hair tossed to the side away from him. She tapped her chin with her index finger. Her face that gave the impression Now what do we have here… she carefully pulled out his phone. Then stood up immediately dropping her sexy act. “I-it’s Freya.” She hands it over to Alec quickly. She did hope it wouldn’t be important, but it did not look to be the case.

Heather shook her head and cried, "Am I?! Are any of us?! ********, we're expected to take on a thing exponentially older than time itself, and I was almost killed by some assholes with guns! What's the point of all this training Freya has us doing?!"

The months of pent up anxiety came out all at once. She had been doing to her best to keep it together since the raid on Valhalla. Since Liv died. Heather had done her best to cope by spending what little free time she had with Liv. In those moments, she forgot everything that happened around them. In their moments of passion, she felt like she could do anything.

On that floor, in Liv's arms, she felt like a helpless child.

Alec never knew Kerana had such a side to her, but he was not going to complain. Every precious moment with her was a gift.

The person on the other end of the line, not so much. Alec sighed and took the phone from Kerana. "Yes, Freya, what can I do for you?"

"Hey kid. I figure you're probably still busy with your newly busty lady. I hope I didn't interrupt you in the middle of something."

Alec blushed and stammered, "No...yes...sort of. What do you what?"

"Remember how you told me that time in the afterlife is much faster than here. How an hour equals a year."

"No."

"Whatdya mean 'no?' I asked you like tons of questions. We talked about it while Kerana and her Mom were having mother daughter time."

"No as in I know what you're going to ask, and the answer is no."

"Why the ******** not?"

"I've improved the decor, but the atmosphere is still feels very oppressive to the living. "

"What if everyone worked in teams? Not only that, but they were coached by people from the past who could provide more than I ever could. People like my brother."

There was a moment of silence as Alec considered Freya's proposal.

"Alec, we only have two months left. I hate to admit it, but that's not enough time. One hour. One year. It doesn't have to be today, but I think it should be soon."

Alec tightened his lips and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Let me think about it."

Freya sighed, "Don't take too long." and hung up.

Alec put his phone on the table and looked to Kerana. "Sorry about that. Now, bring those two tails over here. I think I've had enough time to recover."

Gidget tilted her head and asked, "Freya, did you just ask Alec to treat the afterlife like the hyperbolic time chamber from Dragon Ball Z?"

"No, I asked him for access to something much better."

Freya looked to Trinity and sighed, "You're right, Trinity. You guys need someone like my brother to take you the rest of the way. I think I've done all I can do."

Kerana did not want to pry while he was talking the phone with Freya. She looked to the closet she snickered to herself as she heard him stammer looking over her shoulder briefly as he continued. At first she was considering what her new style would be. She felt she had out grown the school girl look, she felt it needed to be something else. Slowly her train of thought shifted to dread knowing he would have to leave for whatever Freya needed him to do. She couldn’t help but think that she didn’t want to introduce her new self to the world without him by her side. Her tails lowered along with her ears, her hand started rubbing her elbow.




Like a switch Kerana’s tails went up they swished side to side. She strolled up to him in a sultry manner. “Something tells me you’re not going to recover as easily after this next round.” With that comment she drew close, her tails wrapped around his waist and went up, the tips of her tails touching his shoulder blades. She placed one knee on the bed followed by the other straddling him in the process. With a smirk she whispers in his ear, “you asked for it” after a little n** on his ear, she kissed him deeply to land him on the bed. Round four ensued.

Sara was holding Ravan’s hand and felt her squeezing it. One moment all was quiet and she was listening carefully to what Ravan had to say. The next moment she couldn’t hear her friend, her ears are a little more sensitive now since receiving her boon especially when it comes to echolocation. The vibrations surrounding her head felt like a vibrating headache. She let go of Ravan’s hand in the process, covering her ears. It took a moment to adapt as the ship leveled out. She went back to Ravan, holding her hand once more, “Sorry about that… what were you saying? It seemed important.”

They were interrupted again by Rydia this time. She watched as Ravan floated. She nodded and held tight. Since I’m not using my legs at the moment… she shifted her legs into a fishtail to help them get there quicker. On the way, she sent a thought to Ravan, What did you say? Before we were interrupted? She listened to her answer.

Once there her tail shifted to legs covered in scales with decorative fins draped around them like a flowing skirt. Her toenails matched her scales, there was a line of small scales next to her toe like a sandal in a way that led to the rest of her scales. “What’s going on Rydia?”
