Tristen was honestly hoping that he could take the initiative in destroying the chi converters, effectively rendering Atticus’s efforts moot and finally make these Team Star idiots that Tristen was not to be underestimated in any capacity. Even to Mela’s admission just last night, she thought the Zoroark hybrids would have been enough, but even they couldn’t handle the likes of the more battle hardened Manetric hybrid. That said, Tristen wasn’t really versed in the likes of how chi converters worked, just that they were generally bad news; an accident that Sub slipped from his proverbial hands. It was a machine, as far as Tristen was concerned, it could get fried just as any other device. But as time effectively slowed down to the kid, it started to make him realize there was more to these things than what there was.

Tristen found himself wanting to pull back from the machine, but was unable to. Feeling himself filled with all manner of power. It was a similar feeling to the Zapdos heart and Tristen started to fear the worst. Tristen was given a second chance in life, nearly suffering an electrical overload but was given evolution for his efforts. It was only luck that a freakish thunderstone like that imbued Tristen in such a fashion, but now, Tristen’s luck had ran out, and it was time to pay the piper. Tristen couldn’t pull away, feeling his chest practically fill with power ready to be unleashed. Every second was more excruciating than the last. He couldn’t hold it. He was done for. He didn’t get to settle any scores with Matteo, he barely started the school year, he barely got to see the world, he isn’t getting the chance to say good bye to friends and family. Tristen feared such a day coming since after he evolved, perhaps getting taken out while under the banner of Snagem, but he didn’t imagine it’d be this soon, and ironically in the same fashion that nearly took him out the first time, as if fate wanted to try again.

Tristen couldn’t see what was going on around him. Xatu had managed to get the Skuntank off his case, but then found itself hobbling over, the Terastal energy getting drained from him, and on top of the damage he already racked up, it was enough for the bird to stay conscious, but unable to stand, energy drained rather forcefully at such a crucial time. Tristen could feel it. Every fiber of his being started to fill with unbridled power. It started to feel it was taking an eternity to bring his end even though it was only taking a few brief seconds, then finally an explosion.

It took a moment to process it, but Tristen would soon realize, he was alive. Or was he? He started to look around in the smoke-filled room. He could feel himself breathing, though every breath was heavy, with a tremble of fear. He was in fact alive, though he wasn’t sure was to how. He looked around, Atticus was down, just as he wanted. Same with his Skuntank. Was he actually dreaming; that one second of time stretched out for Tristen just before death to comprehend, find solace, and make peace of what was happening? No…he was alive. He can still feel all that massive amounts of power within him. Why wasn’t it killing him right now? Why was he still standing? Tristen took a step back, finding his center of balance awkward suddenly, but he corrected himself. He then looked at himself and he went completely wide-eyed. He had yellow fur on his forearms, more than what he originally had. His physique was considerably enhanced. Muscle a lot more prominent than what he originally had. His academy shirt was either taken out by the explosion or Tristen’s newfound form, allowing him to see not only his physique but a great deal of yellow fur that grew out about it, a great deal of it that spiked out down his back and all the way to his tail which also grew out, giving his overall fur a look of a massive lightning bolt. His feet and hands grew out nails in a grand hurry as well, and they were a crimson red. Tristen started to realize he was actually a fair bit taller as well. Probably a half-foot at best, as if he aged at least several years in that instant. Tristen noticed that he was sparking electricity at random, stray sparks here and there, as if he was exuding some sort of electrical aura, one that he couldn’t bring to any sort of control. Tristen had mega-evolved.

It scared Tristen just now. No, he didn’t have the brush with death as he thought he did, but this did severely concern him. He mega-evolved not through regular means, just as Leslie did, and in her case it costed her hybridization until she managed to get a patch job in becoming a hybrid of something else. Tristen was a natural born hybrid; what was that supposed to mean for him? While someone would probably be enamored over this extreme amount of power that could turn tides of battles, this terrified the Manetric hybrid. He wasn’t dead, but for as all Tristen knew, he was on the clock, and probably didn’t have long at all. There was no way this level of change, let alone power, that he taken in was without any manner of price tag. For as composed as Tristen tried to be in the heat of things, Tristen was nearly panicking now. He couldn’t organize his thoughts like he wanted to. It was hard to be calm when for as all he knew he wasn’t seeing this evening.

Another moment went by. He was trying to list the issues that he had immediately in his moment of panic. Things he knew he had to do before he did end up going out after all. Tristen quickly reached about him and grabbed Xatu’s Pokeball, recalling the fallen Xatu who was also taken out by the explosion of the chi converter. He started to feel regretful then as he looked at the Pokeball. Tristen shook his head. No…he was going to fight through this. Worry about that if there is a chance later. He then looked over towards Mr. Clavell, moving around and started undoing the gag on Clavell then with one hard pull, took apart the bindings without even bothering to untie them, astounded as to how strong he was now. He wondered if he could take on even his adoptive father now like this. Something that couldn’t be tested. “Run.” Tristen uttered to Clavell, his voice reverberating with power. That wasn’t a request, but a demand. A warning; there was no telling what was going to happen, rather it be from the fights outside Sub and presumably others by now were having, or if there was going to be severe repercussions should things go awry with Tristen’s new form. Atticus was out for the time beingTristen started to run off towards the door, nearly stumbling on occasion from trying to adjust to his newfound form. He needed to make sure Sub was okay still.

"Could you have waited an extra second before closing that? Trying to line up getting through's a lot harder than you'd think it is."

Right after Aile had turned her back from closing the door, she'd hear the remark from Aden. Should she turn, she'd also see him just in front of the closed door as if he'd always been there, looking to make sure he didn't get his vest or something caught in the door. Once he was sure he'd made it through cleanly, he'd step a little closer to Aile. "Smart idea having Palossand pick the lock, by the way."

As Cera kept rushing through the halls, she'd pick up on two things. The first was a sudden surge of power, making her stop for a second to get a feel of where it was coming from. It seemed like it was upstairs and she could sense multiple people too. "What's going on up-" Before she could fully get her bearings, she'd feel a second, far larger surge of power that threw her to the ground out of shock. Luckily, her hold on Smoliv didn't falter, so there no lasting harm besides the Mew's eardrums.

Her attempts to calm the young Pokemon would have yet another difficulty when the lights went out alongside that second surge and at least one of the people she sensed- easily the strongest energy signature of the lot, and the only one she could peg as someone she knew- was already making tracks. "Please tell me we didn't get some big thing's attention being here..." She said to herself as she tried to find a way to the stairs, check up on the ones still there for the moment. Without the lights, she had to rely on sensing energy to "see" and the current lack of windows limited what actual eyesight she had. And the fire alarm blaring certainly didn't help matters.

Someone unexpected talking behind her caused her instinct to trigger, quickly bringing out her makeshift mace and swung it before everything connected in her head, pausing before she reached Aden's head. "Arceus, Aden? How the ********? You know, never mind, just start with your name next time," she hissed, narrowing her eyes for a moment before relaxing a little bit and letting out a deep breath. "And thanks, kind of hard for me to pick locks with only one hand." She would bring the staff head back to its pseudo holder in her belt loop before turning back around, noting that the power had now gone out. Lovely.

Requiem of Whyspers

Fashionable Shapeshifter

Odd flinched as the horde of Fighting types recovered almost as fast as it was divided. That was too fast and too easy to believe it was unplanned but he knew next to nothing about these people to have any ideas what they were about. If he'd been following the rumors going around the cafeteria they were-

"Team Star. They're a bunch of bullies that ran away from the classwork and try to bully other students in joining." Clare spoke up, only a moment later finding themself slammed into by their Dreepy and thrown to the ground by the sudden impact. "Ow..."

"I had a feeling." Odd remarked as calmly as he could. He wanted to say he had his wits about him but that couldn't be further from the truth right now. Not only was this clearly a coordinated attack but it was coming from an enemy he had no prior knowledge of. And he now had to worry about making sure Lykas was keeping Libelle safe since the two of them had been at the school when this started. Distracted as he was, he failed to see the incoming attacks as Clare's Dreepy was turned into an unwilling missile that knocked them away from him or the Primeape that grabbed Acciacca and hurled the Fire Child Pokemon across the courtyard to crash into Deo's Steelix. The small "Acciacca!" He exclaimed as he realized he'd lost focus, racing toward him to check on the Fire-type.

Acciacca held his head as he got up from the ground, the world spinning and his head aching after that. "Are you alright?"

"Char!" Acciacca assured, shaking away the stars and focusing on his assailant.

"Good!" Odd nodded and turned back to the field. " Let's see if we can do something about these guys, then. Use Flame Charge!" Odd replied, helping the small Pokemon back to his feet. Acciacca narrowed his eyes as he focused on Primeape and after a couple of small stomps to loosen up, he charged toward the Fighting-type with a cloak of flames wrapped around him.

Primeape laughed a harsh, angry laugh and jumped over the tiny Fire-type, throwing a Brick Break down on the miniature Pokemon from above. Acciacca wasn't fast enough and was hit in the back of the head, slammed face-first into the dirt. Primeape cackled for a moment before snorting angrily. Why did it's fist hurt after that?!

"Acciacca!" Odd exclaimed, as his partner was driven face-first into the ground. The small Fire-type lifted his face from the courtyard ground and flashed a spiteful glare over his shoulder that withered Primeape's rage for only the briefest of moments before it got angry all over again. Why was this child so angry at it? This was a battle, after all!

Primeape shouted and charged the Charcadet, swinging a merciless series of punches aimed to pummel the small Pokemon into oblivion. "Acciacca, Night Shade!" The small Fire-type threw his hands forward and a veil of blackness shot out from between his arms, encompassing Primeape and leaving it momentarily blinded. Unfortunately for Acciacca, the Fighting-type was much stronger than him so his meager punches against it in the midst of the blackness didn’t seem to have much of an effect. Even moreso when Primeape grabbed the Charcadet by it’s face and with a mighty Seismic Toss, hurled the Fire Child Pokemon across the field again, Odd barely managing to catch it as it crashed into his chest. “That’s enough.” The Channeler decided, seeing his newest catch was already out cold. The poor thing was horribly outmatched here and unlike him when they battled on the mountainside, their opponents here weren’t going to pull punches.

Recalling Acciacca to his ball, Odd grabbed an Ultra Ball and hurled it out, releasing another of his partners. “Syn! Use Sucker Punch!” The tea cup that appeared sat motionless on the ground in spite of Odd’s call and, upon seeing it, the already angry Primeape raged, slamming it’s fists into the ground and stomping around in a circle for a moment before charging over to the teacup, it’s fists engulfed in a black aura as it’s rage began to manifest itself around them. As the Primeape prepared to unleash a Rage Fist to destroy the cup, mainly by sending it flying into the face of the trainer who’d sent it out in a million shards, the Pig Monkey Pokemon found a sudden splash of deathly cold tea in it’s face as the Sinistea within the cup shot out and slammed a Dark energy infused tackle into it’s face.

“Was that a critical hit?” Odd asked as Syn returned to their cup and cackled joyfully at the Primeape’s reaction. The Fighting-type wiped at the liquid all over it’s face and sputtered loudly for a moment before a crimson aura exploded around it and the very ground around it began to look as if it were being punched until it began to flatten. A very noticeable vein in Primeape’s forehead became visible as it’s pupils practically disappeared, the rage in it’s heart so intense that it blacked out. “Oh no, that was Anger Point…”

Primeape screamed out with a fury unlike any it had ever felt before and dashed forward with its fist ablaze with black energy once again. It seemed not only to be stronger but faster in this enraged state. As Primape closed in, Syn Withdrew into his cup and turned the bottom end up to face its attacker in an attempt to defend itself. As another Rage Fist connected, the Sinistea was launched across the field and slammed into a nearby tree, knocked unconscious by that single attack. “Giratina’s Wings!” Odd exclaimed as he recalled the small Ghost-type. This was certainly a wake up call to spend more time training his new catches whether they were channeling partners or not. “I dunno what move it’s using but it definitely feels like it’s Ghost-type… so that leaves me with… this.” He muttered as he pulled out a rather old Pokeball and threw it into the courtyard.

“Replay! Use Torment!” The Channeler called to his Chatot. The Flying-type nodded. “Torment!” He repeated, flying around Primeape’s head and chattering about relentlessly. Odd couldn’t hear what was being said to the Fighting-type but its rage was clearly still building as it punched at the bird flying around it multiple times, though none of them managed to connect. After a moment or two, the punches slowed down, though “Iratus bastardis…” The man muttered under his breath.

The Rage Fists were quickly becoming interspersed with Brick Break and after a moment, Fury Swipes. After several missed swings, Primeape unleashed a Screech that momentarily stunned Replay purely from the volume of the rage-fueled ape’s voice, following it up a moment later with a Brick Break aimed to smash the parrot’s beak in.

“Steel Wing!” Odd called out at that point. The Music Note Pokemon had been taunting the ape for long enough before this and the Pokemon was clearly still getting angrier, somehow. “Jeez… It’s gonna give itself an aneurism if it keeps going like this… I know Primeape are notoriously angry but this one just seems worse than most.” He muttered to himself as Replay’s wings flashed silver and met the incoming attack head on. Despite the attempt at stopping it, Replay was knocked off the ground and sent backward, skidding across the courtyard several feet. “Replay!” The Chatot stood up after a moment, very clearly extremely weak and barely standing after that blow. This ape was far beyond strong and needed to be dealt with fast. “Boomburst!” He called out, knowing the recoil of using that kind of attack was likely to knock out his own Pokemon, despite it not normally having such an effect on its user. Replay was just that weak after that attack..

The Chatot inhaled deeply and as Primeape charged in to finish the job, raging harder than ever over the bird surviving that crushing blow, a devastatingly loud explosion of sound was released by the Flying-type as it screamed point-blank into Primeape’s face. The rage-fueled Fighting-type grabbed the bird by his open beak and with a mighty spin, hurled him toward Odd like a feathery rocket via Seismic Toss. Odd caught Replay as he had caught Acciacca, hitting his own knees a moment later as the force of impact bruised his own ribs. “Gah!” He carefully recalled Replay and stood up slowly, eyes locked on Primeape as he watched it almost hyperventilate for a few seconds after that attack before it fell flat on its face and stopped moving entirely. It was too far away to see exactly what happened but he assumed it had finally realized how exhausted it was after that last attack sunk in fully. “That thing needs to be seen at a Pokemon Center… Now.” He realized, quickly digging an Ultra Ball out of his bag and loading it into his SNAG Machine. Glancing around to make sure no one was watching too closely, he threw the charged ball with every intent to let it go after getting it checked out.

He was, unfortunately, unable to witness the capture as things went sideways once again. Thankfully, the others were working on fixing his screw up of trapping Sub. He’d intended to give the man some space to move and ended up trapping him worse than all those Fighting-types had in the first place. “Giratina’s Wings…” He muttered to himself as he fell back on his butt and thought for a moment about how he could help further with only three of his Pokemon left capable of battle after that Primeape. “Oh! Duh!” Releasing another of his partners, he’d find Adagio at his side. “If the others don’t get those flames put out, go soak up whatever’s left over!” He instructed the Fire-type. “Before that, though, give me a spark!” He told the living lantern Pokemon, pulling his artifact from his hip. A small gout of flame was spit into the center of the circular sickle and began to swell into a raging cerulean inferno the Channeler was taking his time to aim. The moment he found an opening, he’d hurl the Wicked Wick at the girl on top of that oversized machine. The hellfire might not do much to her but he wouldn’t know until he tried.

Clare would find themself flat on their butt after Visage was thrown into them but recalled the ghost dragon after a moment and swapped her out for a different one of their partners. “Rasana!” They called out as the Tyrunt appeared. Gnashing his Strong Jaws for a moment, the fossil Pokemon(who had, apparently, never been a fossil) looked around before honing in on the big bug in front of him. “Ty runt runt tyrunt tyr!” The Fossil exclaimed and while Clare understood the words, it sounded like gibberish to them. The Pokemon spoke with an extremely heavy accent that Clare simply couldn’t translate.

“I have no idea what you’re saying. I’m so sorry!” They apologized to the Pokemon, who was currently licking at his reptilian beak. “Let’s start this with a Rock Polish.” They ordered as Heracross stomped and circled the Tyrunt, seemingly preparing to unleash another attack. While Clare couldn’t see what was happening, exactly, Rasana’s scales were definitely starting to shimmer more as they seemingly polished themselves before Heracross finally acted, jumping forward with an Arm Thrust attack. As it attempted to slam it’s open palms into the Tyrunt, the Dragon-type quickly dodged the thrusts and snapped at its arms with Psychic Fangs in retaliation before Clare could even declare a move. Heracross was quicker than expected and barely pulled it’s spindly insect arms back before they could be snapped.

“Good thinking but try using…uh…” They had to pause for a moment and scan the Tyrunt with their SNAG to see what moves he had access to at that point. “Oh! Scale Shot!” They ordered. The Tyrunt nodded, stomped his feet and jumped into the air, intending to leap over the large beetle Pokemon as he flipped and shot a couple of loose scales infused with Dragon energy at Heracross. Hitting the ground running on the other side of the Bug-type, he’d find himself lighter and even faster than before. Heracross danced around the scales fired at it, striking it’s horn and sharpening its edges in the process as it executed a strangely evasive Swords Dance in preparation for it’s next attack.

“Try using Psychic Fangs again!” Clare called out, hoping that perhaps the tiny Dragon was fast enough now to get the attack in without getting countered as easily. The Royal Heir Pokemon flashed into Heracross’s personal space, smiled wickedly and proceeded to infused his teeth with psionic energy before sinking the into the beetle’s exoskeleton.

“Hera!” Heracross exclaimed as its body flashed with a deep brown energy, Rasana being flung backward with tremendous force afterward even as Heracross panted from the pain of that attack. “Rasana! That was a Counter, I think. Are you alright?”

Rasana skidded to a stop a few feet away from Heracross and, panting hard, struggled to his feet. “Tyrunt!” He assured them, though the hybrid still had no idea what the fossil Pokemon was saying. “Try hitting it with Psychic Fangs one more time! I don’t think it can take another one!” They directed their diminutive dragon. Rasana nodded, taking a moment to even out his out breathing before dashing forward, bobbing and weaving as Heracross sent a volley of Pin Missile at him to try and intercept his attack. He managed to avoid all but the first by simply grabbing the projectiles out of the air with his teeth and throwing them on the ground. Closing the distance in a hurry, he would end up right back in Heracross’ personal space just as before but this time, he’d clamp down on the beetle’s horn, right near its base, and as the Bug-type Thrashed around in an effort to throw him off, he held on for dear life. It only took a few seconds of biting down at full force for the Heracross to finally come to a stop and collapse.

“Great job, Rasana!” Clare called out, looking toward Sub at last and seeing several people trying to help him. That meant maybe they should try slowing down that giant machine aiming to squish him while those efforts were taking place. “Can you use Rock Tomb?” Clare asked of Rasana at that point.

“Ty runt!” The Dragon-type nodded as he answered.

“I assume that’s a ‘yes’?” Clare responded, pointing to the Starmobile. “Thinking you can get some rocks to pin that big thing in place? Even if it only holds for a few seconds.”

Rasana nodded and dashed toward the Starmobile, stomping on the ground in several spots as he circled it at high speed, causing multiple pillars of stone to erupt right up against the machine in an effort to pin it in place before dashing back to Clare’s side.

At once, Aden raised a hand to catch the mace with ease. "You did that last time too and didn't manage to stop yourself," he remarked, letting go a second later and rubbing his head with his free arm. "Also it was funnier to ask about the door- crap." Right after he let go of the mace was when the lights went out too, and from the tone of his remark when it happened, he was as surprised as Aile was. "Maybe I should've considered more chaos happening... you have no idea how many attempts it took just to get in here, and I'm pretty sure my mom's laughing from the grave right about now- you know what, no, not the time. So what're we looking for?"

He'd send out his Umbreon as he asked, giving a light glow that would hopefully help in the darkness he and Aile found theirselves in. "Because something tells me it wasn't for a breaker to fix the lights."

Aile raised an eyebrow, though nodded appreciatively at Aden sending out his Umbreon. She didn't have anyone that could light up the area. "So, you didn't know what's going on when you came here? To sum things up, Team Star apparently attacked Sub and brought in this giant vehicle. Considering this place is surrounded by water on three sides, and a mountain range whose other side is a weird crater makes up the fourth side, the assumption is that something's going on in the basement here. A breaker might not be bad, though, now. Unless a line got cut."

Sub perked up as the Water attacks doused the Fire Spin surrounding him, the man now wet from them and the Rain Dance that was now in play. It was in that same moment when the Starmobile began to charge towards him and the Dark One's eyes went wide, the man attempting to pull out his Hoverboard as he began to ran out of the way however part of him knew he wasn't going to make it. Just when he was about to accept his untimely demise until the Rock Tomb came jutting out of the ground, stabbing at the Starmobile as it attempted to pin it down. While it didn't stop it the move did delay the vehicle long enough for Sub to jump on his board and zoom out of the way safely, avoiding the machine's wrath completely thanks to the help of his teammates.

Spinning around on the board and coming to a stop Sub took a good look at the chaos unfolding, Team Snagem and Team Star engaged in all out war with each other, Snagem attempting to fight back the tied of Star grunts which out numbered them one to three, but that was okay, what Snagem lacked in quantity they made up for it in quality. One by one the grunts and their Pokemon fell, on ground and in sky, his teammates showing these young punks just why Team Snagem had the reputation they had. The man took note of Deo trying to help the little punks and almost scoffed. He commended the hybrid for being a good soul but it was more than they deserved at this point in Sub's mind. Scowling at the Starmobile and Eri Sub snatched a Dusk Ball off his vest. "Enough of this..." He said to himself as he beckoned his hoverboard to take him towards the Starmobile.

Back with Reno though, who had previously ate dirt, things were playing out a bit different. Time seemed to slow down for the Psychic as he spoke to Eri's mind, his telepathy amplified by Alakazam, broadcasting his thoughts like a radio signal. Immediately Reno would begin to receive thoughts in return, however not the kind he had expected. "Where is Ortega? I'm worried about him but Snagem needs to be stopped! And why is-" They were Eri's thoughts, her unfiltered thoughts, her thoughts seeming to not even acknowledge Reno's telepathy. Why did Snagem need to be stopped? And why did it feel to Reno that this girl felt like she was saving the day by destroying Team Snagem?

"Reno Vantas." A male voice spoke into Reno's mind, faint but still decipherable, but still as if its source were distant. "You are a brash one to dial into my private line like this. You wanted my attention and now you have it, my undivided attention." The voice continued, their demeanor one of contempt. "Congratulations on figuring it out. I wouldn't call you clever though, more like a nosy busy body whose curiosity has a tendency to make things go from bad to worse. And this time, my little meddlesome amputee, you have made things far, far worse. Now instead of a bunch of kids you get the lion." He chuckled.

"You see, the lion is an animal, it just stumbles around and reacts to what it encounters, if it happens upon a meal then lucky it. But the lion tamer aids them, directs them to their next meal, they crack the whip and guide the lion. And my dear boy...the lion is coming, and I keep it very hungry. Thanks for calling." The voice said, ending their little ominous spiel with what could be called a stereotypical evil laugh but something told Reno, deep within his soul, this was not a bluff, this was not just some self important bag of wind. This person, whoever they were, meant business and their business was nothing good.

A painful buzzing would ring out in Alakazam's mind, as if a swarm of bees had appeared in its mind, a Bug Buzz going off as the telepathic connection was forcefully disconnected.

-----

In the academy's basement Aile and Aden would walk around in the darkness, guided by Umbreon's light, looking for something of interest to the Starmobile's sudden appearance, maybe even figure out how to restore power to the academy after it suddenly went out. They would see little of interest initial other than some boxes, crates, and other random odds and ends as apparently the basement was just used for storage and even then it didn't look like it had been visited in awhile as there were cobwebs everywhere.

After several minutes of wandering around without finding anything their luck would change as they stumbled upon a strange ring of small pink mushrooms right in the middle of the room, light from outside shining down on the ring of mushrooms from the hole made in the ceiling that led to the courtyard outside. If Aden got a closer look at the mushrooms he could sense an immense amount of 'natural energy' coming from them, the kind of energy one would find in abundance in old growth forests. It was a type of energy not every Pokemon could sense, essentially the purest form of energy, usually found in small amounts in all living things, hidden behind other energy signatures, but could be found in larger quantities in older things or places of purity.

And it wasn't just Aden who picked up on something strange, but Aile did too. Letting her senses flow into the cement floor, which somehow the mushrooms were growing into, she could feel out their root system and noted it went deep and then just...stopped, cut off abruptly with no tapering off, like they were cleaning cut off or just disappeared. These weren't natural, that much was certain.

-----

At the top of the academy in Clavell's office the academy's director was finally freed by Tristen, looking at the boy in shock and awe all the while as even he, a normal human, could feel the immense amount of power and pressure the boy was putting out. Clavell was lost for words before Tristen even undid his gag and as such he had nothing to say when Tristen gave him the command to run, instead he just obeyed and immediately high tailed it out of the office, jumping over the body of Atticus without a second thought as he wanted to get as far away from all this as possible.

As Clavell left the room Cera stumbled in to see Tristen in his new Mega Evolved form, his power so tremendous that Cera might even mistake him for a legendary Pokemon before she laid eyes on him and realized who, or what, he was. The two would have a few moments to talk before they both sensed a surging power coming from the courtyard, Tristen immediately recognizing the source; chi converters, more of them. It was those cursed things that made him into what he was currently.

-----

"Stop stop stop!" Eri cried out as she hit her head, something really bothering her after Reno did his little mental dive. Her pained demeanor would change very suddenly as she became stoic and serious again, looking towards her foes. "It's time to pay for your evil deeds! Time to go...Titanic!" Eri roared as he turned around and pressed a few buttons on a machine built into her Starmobile. The Starmobile would begin to hum loudly as energy from all the Fighting Pokemon around, even any Snagem Pokemon, would begin to flow into the Starmobile as its chi converter robbed them all of their energy and gave it to the Starmobile. As the Starmobile collected energy it began to get bigger and bigger until it took up about a fourth of the entire courtyard, now as big as a Titan Pokemon with Eri at the very top of it, looking like an ant riding an elephant.

"Combat Torque! Run them all over!" Eri commanded the gigantic Starmobile. With an angry revving the Starmobile would give off a massive aura of Fighting energy before it began to rotating around wildly, slipping all across the courtyard as it attempted to crush anyone and anything in its path, which hopefully were the Snagems but apparently Eri didn't care if any teammates got in the path as well.

"What the- this chick has gone mad! Deo, Odd, Amber get some of these kids out of here before they get crushed!" He commanded them figuring the faster Deo and two ghost users would be the best at getting someone away safely. "The rest of you, hit this thing with everything you got!" Sub said as he tossed his Dusk Ball onto the ground and released Poe. Immediately the Sableye clocked the giant spinning vehicle and looked to his trainer. "Kekeke...this is new."

"Very new, but we're going to respond with an oldie, Poe, time to Mega Evolve!" Sub ordered his Pokemon as he raised his Snag Machine to the sky. The Key Stone embedded in the gauntlet would shine bright, the energy from the Key Stone resonating with the Sablenite Poe wore around his neck creating a tremendous amount of light which would surround Poe and solidify in a round crystalline cocoon which would soon shatter to reveal Poe in his Mega Sableye state, now looking more devious and sporting a massive gemstone. "Use Protect! Build us a wall and keep it up as long as you can!"

With a nod Poe would wave his hands and will his gemstone to shatter into millions of pieces, then using his vast amounts of energy from Mega Evolution Poe would reform the pieces into a long thin wall of red crystalline energy that stretched from one end of the courtyard to the other, cutting straight through the middle, protecting the side he and most of the Snagems found themselves on. He'd watch as right as the wall formed the Titanic Starmobile slammed into the wall with a fierce thud, shaking the ground and already causing the wall to sway. All this wall was going to do is buy them time to think, quickly. "Crap...Poe won't be able to hold that for long...Sol! If there was ever any time to try out the Dyna Beacon in a live fire exercise it was now! We need something equally big and stat!"

Tsuki the Lunar Wind

Newbie Noob

PostPosted: Sun Nov 17, 2024 6:29 pm

From where Tsuki was the the fight, he saw Leslie in a brawl with a gang of Mankeys and he, and only he hoped not knowing there was a Medicham approaching, had the jump on this situation. He looked beside to his Hypno Grumps and pointed at that spot of the brawl. “Can you use Psychic to send a few packing?” He asked, receiving a seemingly dismissive huff from his Pokemon. Nevertheless though, Grumps would comply and do as his trainer asked

Sending out another way of psionic energy, Grumps attempted to lift up and throw a few Mankeys over into the a nearby bench. Sensing the attack of the fellow psychic type however, he shoved his trainer out of the way. Tsuki groaned and looked up, immediately annoyed. But his grievance turned to concern when he saw that his Pokemon had taken the full brunt of the attack in his stead. Grumps growled back at the Medicham, the pressure point technique suddenly making counterattacking with Psychic nearly impossible.

Oh jeez, what was he gonna do now?

An old, reflexive, almost automatic part of Tsuki’s brain was screaming that there wasn’t anything he could do here. That he was in over his head, again, and that he shouldn’t have been so reckless. He slapped himself in the face for thinking like an idiot. No, no he could do something. The trainer glanced around, gripped a Pokeball, and noticed other students running off? This was a battle academy! “Don’t mind me-!” Tsuki said to the Medicham, booking it from there. He ran as fast as his lungs would let him, shoving past brawling Pokemon and jumping over the Cyclizar that was chasing after Monique to look for something that would help him get a better view. All the while, he sent a tiny prayer to Arceus that his attacker wasn’t right behind him.

Oh, there was a Rain Dance up? Tsuki tossed a Pokeball over his shoulder. “Baja, hit anything that jumps my way with a Hydro Pump!” He called out.

Finally though, he found a decent perch. Tsuki scrambled onto a trash can and leapt up high onto a lamppost. Holding on for dear life despite the pole being wet with one hand and putting two fingers into his mouth with the other, Tsuki pressed his sneakers into the metal and whistled as loudly as he could at the Uva and Naranja students either not getting involved or outright running away. “WHAT’DYA THINK YOU’RE ALL DOING?!” He yelled, pointing back at the rampaging Fighting types and Starmobile. “I haven’t been this place’s Vice President not to every single one of you guys! I helped you find your Lechonk a few days ago and you over there- YOU CHALLENGED ME LIKE MY FIRST DAY WITH AN ARCTIBAX. Those Team Star jerks are attacking the school- DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! YA’VE GOT SPECIAL ATTACKS, DON’T YA?!” He made sure to point at them before losing hus grip and falling flat on his butt. If they decided to do anything, he guessed he’d only find out once and if they entered the fray.

Tsuki’s eyes widened when saw just how much a dangerous idiot Eri was being. Baja took the command from earlier and moved in front of his trainer before extending and pointing his cannons at the Starmobile. Whatever fighting type attack came his way, even if the thing barreled down at him directly, there was no way in hell the Blastoise would allow any harm come to his trainer. “Blaaaast…” he started while charging his attack, spurts of water coming out as he aimed. “-TOISE!” The Shellfish Pokemon roared and let loose the iconic move of his line. Professor Oak once said, while giving him a check up whilst he was living with the man for three years, that its cannons were capable of punching holes through steel with water. How much punishment could that Revavroom take?

Neither Amber nor Brian could really see what was going on, the fighting around them so chaotic it made it hard to really think. Both were glad to see that Sub managed to get away from the impending steel vehicle of doom, though Amber noticed that as Eri started pressing buttons, energy seemed to be siphoned from the various Fighting-types around them. Was that thing sucking the energy from the Pokemon to power it up? Amber had a flashback of what had happened at Segin Squad's base, when Giacomo had used a chi converter to power up his Dark-types. She refused to let this arrogant upstart think she was going to get the upper hand by doing this. Before she could try to figure out how to counter, however, she heard Eri's command to run everyone over, and she watched in horror as the machine began to spin wildly, moving regardless of who was in its path.

"EVERYONE MOVE!" she yelled over the chaos. "THAT THING ISN'T GOING TO WAIT TO SEE IF YOU'RE ON ITS SIDE!" As she was speaking, she saw a younger member of Team Star, a girl that couldn't be more than ten or twelve, standing directly in the path of the oncoming Starmobile, frozen in place with terror. Something about the girl's stance reminded Amber of Lily, and before she could stop herself, she launched forward grabbing the girl and twisting in the air as she forcefully pushed the girl out of the way. Just in time, too, as the Starmobile spun past the spot the girl was just standing. "Are you alright?" she asked, concern in her voice as she pulled the girl to her feet. "You-You saved me!" the girl sobbed, throwing her arms around the Froslass hybrid as she wept with relief. "You're safe now," Amber said, pushing the girl back after a few seconds. "But you and your friends need to get out of here before that thing decides to come around for a second pass." "Wait!" the girl called, as Amber turned to walk back to her teammates. "What about you? You and your friends aren't safe, either!" Amber merely looked back and gave a small smile. "There's a perk to being technically unalive," she said, as Spooky and Arauth appeared beside her, both cooing with concern. "I don't have to worry as much about things that might potentially kill me. Team Snagem will be fine; we'll come out of this stronger and smarter." She saw the awe in the girl's eyes, and her smile grew a bit before she turned back to the fray. "Do me a favor, kid," she said. "Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're not worth anything. You're always going to be worth something to someone, even if you can't see it yourself. Never forget that, and you'll do just fine. Now get as many of your friends out of this as you can." The girl could only stare after her as she disappeared back into the fighting, Amber's words cutting straight to the girl's heart.

As Amber returned to the fighting, she noticed Bubbles and Gary had both been knocked out by the rampaging Starmobile, and she gave a sigh as she recalled the two fainted Water-types. Rain was still falling as she wondered what they were going to do, how they were going to stop the Starmobile, and a flash of memory happened as she remembered how she'd taken down the Segin Squad's Starmobile. "Spooky, Arauth, I need both of you to focus your energy on that machine," she said. "Arauth, just like we did back against Giacomo. Spooky, follow Arauth's example, and give it everything you've got!" Arauth gave a maniacal chuckle as she remembered taking that Starmobile down, and she turned to Spooky to explain the plan to him. The Shuppet, too, gave a sinister chuckle, and both Ghost-types floated off to try and pull off their plan, surrounded by Electric-type energy as they began to utilize the Rain Dance to try and pull off a massive Thunder attack. If this went off the way she wanted it to, the chi converter would no longer be a problem, and they could deal with Eri and her twisted mentality.

Brian cursed when the Starmobile started sapping the strength of every Fighting-type that was gathered there. He saw Lu flag and fall, and he swore as he was forced to recall his first and most loyal partner. He was just down to Aisha and Randy now, who had somehow vanished once again. He knew the Dunsparce wasn't the best battler, but how he managed to vanish almost every time still surprised him. In fact, Randy hadn't vanished at all. There was a crackle of Ice-type energy as a random Ice Beam flew from somewhere near the Team Star grunts. This served a double purpose: it made the Team Star grunts in the path dodge out of the way, and it froze the ground, the Dunsparce attempting to make it where the Starmobile had less traction to work with. Thunderfist had taken care of the Flying-types that Brian had sent him to help deal with, and when he was done, he returned to his trainer, who surprisingly didn't give him a new order. There wasn't much he could do at the moment, anyway, so he climbed up onto Brian's shoulder to watch as his trainer moved out of the danger zone of the Starmobile.

Aisha, furious that the large, metal thing had completely ignored her Flamethrower, worked herself up into a tantrum. Being a Dragon-type, she didn't take being ignored by a superior opponent at all well. This was an insult to her pride, and she wasn't going to let that stand. That being said, she used Dragon Dance to up her speed and accuracy, then shot forward with a Dragon Rush, aiming to hit something to stop that big thing from spinning. Or at the very least, slow it down so that the other Pokemon she could see could take their shot at it, too. Never let it be said that she was stingy and hogged all the strong opponents to herself.

"Dang it, this is bad," Absinthe spat as all the Fighting-type Pokemon were drained of their Pokemon. This included Abby's Pawmi, who fainted on the spot due to lack of training and therefor not enough energy to endure the energy grain. Gritting her teeth, she recalled Pawmi. "All I've got is Fighting-types! I'm pretty much useless, here!"

"You should step back, then," I told her before recalling all three of the Pokemon I had out. With all of Star's Fighting-types drained, they all either fainted or weren't a threat, anymore. I let Rala back out of her ball. "That Pokemon just absorbed all the Fighing-type energy in the area, so it should be extra weak to Psychic-type moves. Hit it with Psychic," i told her.

Rala nodded in my direction before turning to the car Pokemon just after Sub managed to dodge it. Her shining blue heart crystal made it easier for her to use Psychic-type moves, so the Psychic she used was plenty powerful - just like last time. I didn't think it'd be enough considering how many Pokemon the Starmobile drained of energy, but the more damage she could do to it, the better.

"No, that's news to me too... if you want the full story, I was in the middle of a Battle Studies class and suddenly I started sensing a lot all at once and a call to evacuate once the loud noises started. Though, a giant vehicle? Like the ones Cera talked about? I'm pretty sure we'd be in a disaster area if it came through here, big as she's described."

Umbreon's light would let him see that the basement hadn't been disturbed in some time. Cobwebs and dust was a common sight, particles of the latter shining slightly as they got near Umbreon and floated around. It was too still, too clean for anything to have been here outside of the rare moment of pulling something out or accessing something only here. He was almost sure there wasn't going to be anything notable here, apart from a breaker to try turning the lights back on.

Some time into the searching would find a little bit of natural light in the middle of the room, daylight finding its way to the ring of mushrooms. "Wait, how long have these been here? You'd think they'd make sure to keep anything weird growing out of... here..." The moment he knelt down to get a closer look and grab one of the mushrooms, Aile might see his eyes grow wide and his mouth gape open as if a Haunter popped up in front of him for a poorly timed prank. The energy he felt hit him like a truck, but it wasn't just the energy itself. It was what he recognized with it. "...I shouldn't be feeling this energy here," he remarked, grabbing the mushroom and standing up quickly.

"That's... there's only a handful of places I should be feeling that. Like the shrines in Ilex Forest or Agate. Maybe a Time Flute if it's been sitting there long enough to channel it for a bit. Or the Fairy Realm-" He'd look again at the ring, then around, then to Aile. "...Aile, is there anything you can sense? These mushrooms shouldn't be growing here, and I'm not liking the answer I'm starting to reach."

---

Cera got to the Director's Office just in time to see Tristen running out alongside Clavell, the energy the mega-evolved hybrid giving off both acting like a massive beacon and making her think she'd run into another legendary Pokemon if she hadn't recognized him. "What..." Trying to get a semblance of her bearings, she'd levitate Atticus from the ground and quickly follow the two. "Two questions. First, who's this? Second, Tristen, what happened to you?" It wouldn't be long before she stopped for a moment, another surge of energy catching her attention. "...three questions."

---

Back outside, Sol would hear Eri's screams before seeing the Starmobile's size dwarf everyone around, its hum going from a constant source of noise to nearly drowning everything else out, practically becoming a titan of its own. "Hijo de- Cinal! Run behind the gemstone for safety! Inigo, stay with her!" He'd take to the air to get away from the Starmobile's path as his Cyclizar weaved her way around the others and their Pokemon, an eye ever kept on the vehicle threatening to crush anything in its path before she found her way to Sub and Poe. Only then did Inigo get off her back, the Raboot bracing himself despite the gemstone holding the vehicle back for now.

"Something doesn't seem right about this..." He remarked, before hearing Sub's request. He was right, if there ever was a time to field test the Dyna Beacon, it'd be now. But he wished the live fire exercise would be something less chaotic and dependent on it not running into any issues. But, Snagem never exactly operated that way in the first place, and it wasn't starting today either. "Right!" He took out the Wishing Piece he'd kept on hand for the exercise, gripping it in hand and letting the machine absorb its energy as he held it aloft. As he did, a red beam would shoot skyward from the back of his gloved hand, where the machine's addition had been installed. A storm raipdly rolled in alongside, the sky and ground taking on a reddish tint itself as clouds swirled around and brought everyone- Team Snagem, Team Star, anyone else unlucky enough to be caught up in everything- into the eye of a Dynamax storm thanks to the power spot Sol's Snag Machine was now emitting.

Notably, rather than following that up with grabbing a ball with his left hand, he'd take a Beast Ball into his right and look to Sub. "Sub... hazlo contar!" The energy was his for the taking, with the hybrid opting for a different sort of big gun whose rammifications he'd concern himself with later.

"Buzzwole, I'm sorry to send you out like this, but we could use the help!" A tinge of regret at the circumstances calling for such a thing could be heard in his voice, but he hadn't been prepared for the fact that Buzzwole's energy would take a hit almost instantly. He was, however, more prepared for the panicked reaction to everything going on. Sol promised that things would be safe, and this looked anything but, what was going on!?

"We'll be fine. But we need your help to keep it that way! Do you trust me?"

Buzzwole's demeanor would calm after a moment- though to most, it wouldn't look like much changed at all- and they stared down at the massive Starmobile while stretching their arms and prepared to be the most annoying mosquito by comparison. Time for a workout.

“Cera…” Tristen spoke up. “…I…I mega-evolved. Atticus had a chi converter in here and had an accident with it. It…changed me to this.” Tristen told her. Despite looking like he could tear heaven and earth apart, despite having his own voice reverberate from the massive amounts of power he found himself with, his tone betrays it all. Tristen was utterly scared. This was totally different from when he grabbed the Zapdos Heart during the final battle against Ein and the hordes of Shadow Pokémon. Back then, while Tristen had some indication of it as he ended up having to wade through hordes of Shadow Pokémon, Tristen truly didn’t really realize his mortality until he touched that rock, but even then, didn’t really give it too much of thought at the time, given the stakes. He didn’t really contextualize just how lucky he was until after the fact, when everyone was safe back at the headquarters and was trying to tend to their injuries. Now he was running around with more power than what he knew what to do with which still threatened to take him out by electrical overload and, should he get through that hurdle, who knows what was going to be in for him once this form inevitably runs out just as it did with Leslie. In spite of all he has been through with Snagem, at the end of the day, he was still, for all intents, a young teenager.

Tristen then perked up, more electricity in the air. He looked back towards the exploded chi converter, trying to make sure it was in fact no longer operational then was left to wonder if that chi converter that was trying to enhance those Zoroark twins was not the only one in the vincinity. The mega-evolved Manetric hybrid looked back towards Cera. “…I…I think I need to go. I think I need to help everyone back outside…” Tristen said. “That guy there…he’s with Team Star. Can…you please make sure he doesn’t go anywhere. That Skuntank and Muk are his as well. I don’t think he’s going to be able to do too much; he got electrocuted really bad and of course the exploded machine, but I don’t think we can take any more chances with these guys.” Tristen told him. “I…need to make use of this while I still am able to…sorry…” Tristen said, rushing off, barreling down the halls of the academy in his newfound form to go find Sub, unaware of what was going on back outside.

Aile followed behind Aden silently, noting the lack of activity on most of the objects here. Not surprising. No circuit breaker, either. Damn.

Then they got to the ring of pink mushrooms. There was light in here thanks to a hole in the roof, so this is probably where they exited. The mushrooms were an odd thing, though. And Aden’s comments weren’t giving her anything to feel great about, either. “Fairy Realm, eh? Hm.” With a sharp exhale, she’d kneel down and put her hand on the ground, focusing any of the senses she could on the ground below her. Everything just weirded her out more, The root system had burrowed into the concrete, which considering that there was no flora before this, put it even more out of place, and then it just abruptly stopped. The positioning of them, how they grew in but just abruptly stopped… this was brought in purposefully and recently. “If they were here for a long time, you’d think the root system would be more developed. That’s something I noticed in other areas, particularly when going after that second Herba. This area, if it was more natural, the roots probably would be spread out more and not nearly as orderly. It wasn’t here for too long, though impressive that they’re breaking through the solid concrete.” The channeller opened her eyes again and stood back up, stretching her arms like she had a full second one for a half second before bringing them back down, glancing at the nub she had left. “Right then. First step, done. Second step- spring the trap if there is one. Shall we see what happens if we step in?” Before he could answer, she stepped into the circle of shrooms, half expecting to be taken back to the Fairy Realm. Hopefully, no one was planning on trying and shenanigans to the tree this time. Hopefully.

Outside, a streak of light would zip past the Snagems in the sky, something seeming to fall off the streak as it continued on past the school. It would quickly reveal itself to be a certain galactic hybrid, coming down quickly towards the currently titanic target barreling towards her friends. As she was getting closer, a Pokéball would fly out next to her, surrounded by a light blue aura. It opened to reveal her Sigilyph. With a mental directive sent, Kairos would fly off to help assist with the Protect Poe set up, the ancient bird(?) bringing up his own Protect when the dark type’s would begin to falter.

Crystal herself would land on the Starmobile hard, managing a three point landing instead of ungracefully crashing. “You know, that actually was a nice landing for once,” she muttered to herself, standing up straight and looking around. “Oi! I suggest you either turn this thing around, or we’re gonna see how many systems this thing can survive going down before it can’t function!” Her golden claws would then begin to glow pink and elongate, the hybrid deciding to go on a rampage in her surroundings with her version of Psychic Fang.

Reno would only be able to catch a small snippet of Eri's thoughts, but it was enough to tell him that something was clearly happening with the girl. Whoever was directing Team Star at this point had managed to convince them Team Snagem was a force for evil that needed stopping. But it was her actual thoughts and she didn't respond to his psionic call, so what was happening to create this odd state of thought? Some sort of mind-altering substance that had been introduced to them to make them more susceptible to suggestion?

Before he could continue working off of what he managed to gather from Eri, the actual number he had been intending to ring up finally responded. And while he was always willing to shout down someone, Reno decided to exercise restraint in this case. After all, who was he to stop someone mid-monologue? That's when a lot of people felt the need to give over more information than they needed to for getting their point across. This time certainly wasn't too different, although the information he was getting didn't precisely make sense. I mean, what the heck was a lion? Sure wasn't any sort of Pokemon that he had heard of before, Maybe they had meant an evolved Litleo? But then why not call it a Pyroar?

Not that parsing out precisely what is a lion was the thing he was focused on. No, that was moreso Reno doing his best to distract himself from the growing dread of being described a wandering hunter and the fact that this psychic person was proclaiming they could direct it. He had no proof beyond paranoia and the likelihood that knowing what a lion was meant this person knew stuff about other dimensions, but the man's demeanor and pure confidence in this 'lion' kept Reno stuck to the thought that it was about to slip through once again. And then the connection would be severed, the manifestation of a literal Pokemon attack through the telepathic connection doing as much to shock Reno and Kaiden as it did to damage the Alakazam out of amplifying their telepathy.

....wait, the man had been quiet even through Kaiden amplifying Reno's own power? Maybe his connection through Eri had been weak?

Potentially....intentionally so. Just a quiet whisper, like your thoughts to steer you towards different ideas than you might otherwise consider. But it was obviously working on all of Team Star, so how could this thing be this weak and subtle while also covering this many people? That didn't sound like any psychic power that he knew about. And the transmitting a Bug type attack over telepathy was a different trick too. Something here had to make all these odd bits fit together.

He couldn't keep dwelling on the interesting monologue he had just finished receiving, there was vehicular manslaughter about to be committed on his person. Glowing pink for a second, he would teleport himself back onto the rooftops beside his recovering Alakazam just as the Starmobile came roaring through where he had been. Taking a moment to watch for where he could step in, Reno cracked open another Pokeball as he saw the massive wall of gems erect itself and stymie the gigantic machine. Looking over to his Metagross, he would point towards where he could identify at least some points where the Starmobile's structure seemed to come together at support points. "Phemes! Meteor Mash those points! We're going to try and cripple this thing before it can take another run at roadkilling everyone."

Giving a few beeps in response, the Steel type would take off with a glowing fist. She was already running the calculations in her head and while it was hard to determine the precise outcome for hitting these points, any impact to them would be liable to result in stability issues if this followed any sort of traditional design structure.

---

On the ground, Leslie would finally break free of her personal melee in time to see the Starmobile begin its out of control careening while the size of a small building. And while she was very confident in her ability to bludgeon things, this was yet another case where just simply smashing was going to end in her getting hit by a vehicle. And being much less likely to recover from it than when Atticus had done it. Thankfully, she remembered very distinctly what she had done to the last one. And they would hopefully have more time to put a more graceful version of the plan into action.

Returning her two Pokemon, Leslie would crack open a third Pokeball and look at her Onix. "Alright, Grunt. See that giant thing that's trying to run us over? I'm gonna need you to tunnel underneath and dig out the ground underneath the back two tires. If it can't get grip, it can't move. Now, go!" Leslie shouted, turning back to face the Starmobile head-on as she heard Grunt getting to work tunneling underground. Hopefully her plan to remove traction to the thing would work out, even if Grunt only managed to remove some earth beneath one tire. After all, any decrease in power would help them to survive.
