James was done, then Erik, and then Jelena after having to relocate her shoulder, and make sure it was int eh right area and gave her the full range of motion. of course a look from James and that doctor nodded and took the mouthguard from Jelena, setting everything back in thier cases.
"Dr. Trevale, I suggest you take a day off. working that arm to much is going to put you in a lot of pain you don't need to be in, and you need to let that arm rest while it heals anyway. the casting and break I'm not so worried about but the strain on that pulled shoulder does. you need to let the muscles reset and organizne back to thier orignal setting from being torn and stretched like that."

Oh that medic got a dirty look. Take a day off? That was like telling her to jump out of an airlock, sans space gear. "I can do my job perfectly well with one arm." Indeed stubborn woman. "And they make drugs for pain, even you know that, you're the medic." Hell, she would just sling her arm and go about her day, served her right for her mistake anyway.
Erik rolled his eyes with a sigh. Okay, maybe he couldn't get her to take a day off just because of her arm. Right....he was about to go through with that sedation idea.

The medic gave her a stern look right back.
"It's not the pain or wether or not you can do your job, Doctor Jelena Trevale. It about letting the stretched, torn, extended muscles properly reset themselves and reposition. You have built animals from the dna up you should know how bad it can be if the tendons and ligaments in a limb don't set or reattach properly. you want to live to be sixty and barely be able to use that arm without incredible pain becuase the tendons didn't reattach themselves correctly? or maybe live the rest of your life in constant pain...or just take a day off?"

Here was a medic....getting uppity. "Yes I do know, thank you very much, otherwise I have wasted many a year and lots of money on college and degrees.
"That's it, I'm getting the sedatives out on you. You really thought I was joking when I said I would knock you out for forty-eight hours and tie you to your bed? I wasn't. You are such a stubborn woman."
She was not winning. Medics fussing at her, Erik fussing at her, James would fuss at her. "Fine, fine! Stop lecturing me...I'll take a day off." Of course she didn't define 'day off', and she most certainly did have her own definition. "And than you very much for your help and for being discreet about this."

Medics grinned lightly among themselves, but remained quiet and nodded to each in turn, before filing out and heading back to Metamorphosis for thier actually work or sleep, depending on what shift they were on.
James looked at Jelena, and then at Erik.
"Get the sedatives. because I don't think her definition of 'day off' is going to match either of our definitions of the word. and you are stubborn Jelena. choosing work over personal health. Though I commend the dedication. one of the cute things about you. tenacious as a pitbull."

"Good to know we're thinking along the same lines there James. I'll go change and clean myself up and then I am indeed fetching those sedatives. Be some strong ones two, hell she won't have the energy to blink." He gave an almost too happy look to Jelena. "The doctor needs a day off and that's just what she's getting." A nod to James. "See if you can wrangle her to her room." A slight chuckle before he walked off to do what he said he would.
Jelena was far less than happy. This would set her back in her work...not to mention she was still trying to catch up previous work. Had to go and confront a Hippogryph smelling like a Fenrir, didn't she. Though her eyes slid to James now as Erik left. "I get it from my grandmother...and I would like you to know and inform Erik as well that I hate you all for having the audacity to drug me down."

"I have no intention of drugging you down if I don't have to. I can finish the work that needs done on MISSED, and we can work Erik double or triple time to keep your work caught up. but the medics are right, you need to take a least a day off to let that injury heal some."
Working his fixed arm, making sure nothing was loose or offset, though he watched Jelena.
"Or how about this. you take a day off, and you and I can have you first date, like we've been planning. and I promise the next day I'll help and if I have to I'll get Rennell or Roselyn to help as well get you all cuaght up for what you fall behind on."

"You think it's that easy..." She was a schedule whore. Sure, she may not finish everything on time, but she started things on time. Probably aided in her organization or lack there of problem. "I just don't personally see the difference between me slinging my arm and going about work, and me slinging my arm and lazing around. Either way, I'm not using the arm. I deserve pain anyway for that stupid mistake."
She was quiet a moment then looked to James once more. "Isn't our first date supposed to be a MAPS? You try squeezing into Fein's schedule, it's not easy." But she did feel a little weird about all this offered help...she wasn't used to it.

"Your taking a day off. We all know you jelena. you'd have your arm in a sling, but you'd still be carrying things and bracing things and such with that slung arm and that's defeating the whole purpose of that partcular sling setup. And you said she had plenty of open slots, just all evening hours."
a slight grin.
"or do you really think me and you dating means you have to get a matching arm to me? if that heals wrong the only way you'll ever be free of pain is to get it replaced in Metamorphosis."

"I'd be careful..." She couldn't say that she wouldn't be doing all that because, they all knew including her that she would. After all, she usually did things like that and against doctor's orders as well. "Yes yes, I'm taking a day off."
Though she couldn't help the slight smirk at his mentioning of a what if scenario. "I like all my current parts thank you. We can get matching arms when we get married. Then and only then would that route be considered." Took his joke and put it one step farther for her own amusement. Wonderful.
"Erik is still going to want to sedate me down...and probably mess with my hair while I'm out."

"Well now that won't happen now that yoiu agreed to take the day off. so don't worry about that right now. but if you do thing that are potentially harmfully to yourself, I'll drug you myself. and I won't mess with your hair...hmm..maybe mess with your clothing, but not your hair."
Then another grin about getting married.
"you know you do move fast. haven't even had our first date and your talking marriage. damn I'm good."
A small chuckle at that, corssing his arms and waiting for Erik.

She rolled her eyes at him again. "Mess with my clothing...you just want to have Erik walk in on you doing such and then have him get all uppity about that. I think you love to mess with that man more than I do." And a raised eyebrow from her then. "You're not that good James, and the man that convinces me to marry will get a medal of honor for that one. Like I told you, I'm married to my work."
Swish of doors announced Erik, who was holding a vial and a air powered syringe in one hand. And he smiled almost evilly to Jelena. "Got some grade A stuff here Trevy, you'll be out like a light in a good two minutes." He crossed his arms. "Now get to your room miss, so I can put you down for your nap." Yes, he as taking delight in this.

"medal of honor? that''s somethign worth having now isn''t it. and nah, I wouldn''t want Erik to walk in on that, lest I got a syringe of that tranqulizer in my back."
Then of course Erik showed back up, speak of the devil, and James grinned lightly nad got up, Helping Jelena up and walked over by Erik, taking the sedative and looking it over.
"Good lord. she''s a woman, not a horse. Give me that stuff."
He snatched the syringe from Erik and loaded it,
"I know she''s stubborn but her immune system doesn''t reflect on her attitude, you know. adn you look way too happy to be using this on her, so I''ll be holding it. next thign we know you''ll be shooting her with it just for fun."

Erik looked a little miffed over him taking away his play thing. What could he say he had been looking for an excuse to put her down for a few good days. But no, James had to go ruin his fun. "I beg to argue that fact. I put six sleeping pills in that woman's drink once, she didn't even bat an eyelash."
Of course that earned a hit from Jelena. "Would you stop trying to knock me out all the time? You take some sort of odd pleasure from knowing that I'll be sleeping for a actual healthy time frame. Though a look to James as he loaded that thing...okay she believed them, they were serious. And she announced her defeat with a sigh. "Fine...let's head to my room so you two can drug me." Thus defeated walking commenced.

James motioned for Erik to go first, smirking lightl when Jelena smacked him. though he might try the same thing on Rennell one of those days he was overly annoying.
"Hey did I forget to mention that Jelena is already talking about marrying me and getting a matching arm?"
A chuckle from that, and he kept walking behidn them.
"Of course I have to get a medal of honor first. any ideas on how to start another world war I can play in?"
