OK...i told u before i nvr said MUSLIMS do it to produce children i said that in ISLAM sex was originally for producing children...im not evn talking about modren muslims

You didn't say that the purpose was "originally" for procreation, you said "Sex is pretty much for producing a child" which means sex=children. The purpose of sex is whatever the couple wants it to be. So their intention could be pleasure or their intention could be pregnancy.

It is encouraged in Islam (and practically everywhere else too) to have a healthy sex life with your spouse. Marriages fail because the lack of sex and Islam recognizes the sexual needs of humans.

Even if sex was originally for reproduction, there are other functions of it such as pleasure. It doesn't matter if we're talking about modern Muslims or the first Muslims because I bet sex between couples hasn't changed very much.

I also don't know if you're telling the OP that he's not a Muslim because he is unable to reproduce but there are people out there who are unable to reproduce because they're infertile so you would be implying (whether you know it or not) that they aren't Muslims either. Yeah, being gay is haraam and all that stuff we've read in this thread. But seriously, it's not our place to tell him he's going to hell because only Allah decides that.

OK...first of all ur right about the whole sex issue and thanx for correcting me....but i nvr said that if u cant reproduce then ur not muslim b/c i know many muslims that cant have children....and the whold thing about him goin to hell i nvr said that b/c i know i have no right or proof to say that he is going to go hell....u dont have to be muslim to go the heaven and u dont have to be straight to go to heaven...and the whole thing about marriages failing b/c or sex that might be the case sometimes but most of the time its b/c of lack of cooperation...( oh and btw i enjoyed the whole debate or arguement...thanx for the correction) 4laugh

Firstly, I'm going to remind people that I AM A LIBERAL MUSIM!!!!!!
If you dont know what that is, dont make asumptions about it. You may also want to do some research on the Mu'tazilah school of Muslim thought, because that's what my particular organisation has its roots in.
Secondly, no-one has the right to tell me how I conduct myself as a muslim. I can deduce my own ways from the Qu'ran.
Thirdly, someone asked me about how I pray when I dont take belief in the Hadith. Well, I do it just like everyone else for the sake of Tradition. However, I refuse to perform them in gender-separated lines, prefering to do it solo, or in a scattered group, as I do with the Muslims at my school on the midday Prayer.
Also, I stated my org's website AND made another thread so I wouldn't have to explain what Liberal Islam is here. Anyone who wants to learn more about it should have a peak at the other thread or the website. Otherwise, google's pretty good.

You've got some sex-ed homework to do...
Not all gays do the Sodomy bit. There's a ... wide range of sexual activities gay people can do, some not even covered in the Qu'ran.

And if you think you have the right to say Gay is Evil, then I can just as easily say you're wrong, and that you should interpret the scriptures with a bit more insight. Perhaps a lot of people here should do that...
But I don't have a right to say such, not do you have right, or substance, to say that Gay is automatically evil.

And before anyone attempts to indirectly insult me again through saying im not suited for Islam, or the like (some people must think they know what Allah swt wants)keep in mind that I believe in autonomy in interpreting the Qu'ran, and doing so rationally.

You all might want to have a look at Universal Uniterian Muslims.

I'll make it simple for you: I am Jewish. I want to know if the ban on homosexuality in Islam is based on the same ban in Judaism. I asked for someone to quote the verses so that I can compare them to the ones in the Bible.

Please, please, go ahead and tell me where the insult is in that.

First if all I would like to say that I love being a Muslim and I love my religion and I am SICK of people trying to change and leave out parts they don't want to follow. The translation of the word "Muslim" is one who submits to the will of God(Allah). It is against God's will to be homosexual, therefore you are not submitting to His will in doing so, therefore you do not fit the definition of the word Muslim. I noticed people really aren't quoting the Qur'an so here are some that clearly say its unnatural and forbidden:

“If two men among you commit indecency, punish them both.” – 4:16. This follows a possible reference to lesbians who are to be confined for life.

“You lust after men instead of women. Truly, you are a degenerate people.” – 7:81.

Do you commit indecency with your eyes open, lustfully seeking men instead of women? Surely you are an ignorant people.” – 27:54-55.

27:54 And Lot! when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination knowingly ?
27:55 Must ye needs lust after men instead of women ? Nay, but ye are folk who act senselessly.
27:58 And We rained a rain upon them. Dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.

7:80 And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?

7:81 Lo! ye come with lust unto men instead of women. Nay, but ye are wanton folk.

7:82 And the answer of his people was only that they said (one to another): Turn them out of your township. They are folk, forsooth, who keep pure.

Allah killed everyone in Sodom and Gomorrah except Lot and his daughters.
Lot the just and righteous

Compare with the Genesis story, in which Lot's wife didn't stay behind but was turned into salt for looking back.

Theres is more but I think you get the idea that THE QUR"AN FORBIDS homosexuality. Allah destroyed A whole city of homosexuals. If this Is not clear to you then something is wrong with you. if you read the Qur'an Allah says (through out the Qur'an) he Hates people who change his words and choose what they want to follow. If your a homosexuals and you want to be part of a religion try Judaism DON'T Try and Change Islam.

1)If I cannot follow Allah and be a homosexual at the same time, then Allah is NOT the universal God I have beem worshipping for the past ages.

2) If I am not a Muslim, then I am something better.

Allah only created Male and Female there are no such thing as ' Gayness '
and he IS the universal God .. coz if he wasn't then he would've allowed people to start being GAY .
