My Back is pretty strong, but I have to stretch due to a great amount of tension that builds inside along the spine. My back can support a great deal of strength while I maintain balance with my legs. but as result tension builds up leaving my muscle stiff and resistant in flexability.

I have tension in my spine, but I always die after horseback riding. I keep getting the horse that when I do a sitting trot it looks like a cartoon. I literally get bounced up and down in the saddle, with daylight being seen between the saddle and my a**. That is not good, but that horse kills me.

Makes my leg muscles wonderful, though.

well that sucks, Only problem i have with my really is when i wake up I have to stretch else my ability to move is quite minimal. I could actually use a good massage to relax my back. I've had only one good massage and it was breath taking. I try those machines and crap but nothing compares to the one time.

Haha. I mostly feel like crap because my leg keeps seizing. Over this summer, I ripped all the tendons in my ankle, really painful, and it's killing me now that it is getting cold where I live. As in, shooting pain up my bone marrow, it feels like.

I always found that its fun when you're trotting, to lean as far back as you can, so that its like you're lying down on a bed that moves...

I would not try that on this horse. Any other, yes. Eddie. ...No. The pain I would get form doing that outweighs the joy I would have of laying back on rocking horse bed. I would probably get whiplash from trying it any way.

Well... next time he stops and pulls over to munch on some grass or drink, before tugging to start just sit back and watch the clouds for a couple seconds... or minutes... Achilles (my horse) likes to lay down a lot. So I just kind lie there with my head resting on the back of his head. Its really comfy... except when its windy cuz then his mane starts flying into my face

Hahaha, cute. I haven't been on a trail ride in a while, mostly taking lessons so I can start competing. So my horse doesnt usually stop to graze or drink. Yeah, you know Eddie I was tlaking about? I had to ride him, without a crop, when he needed one. No wonder he wasn't moving.

haha... I don't necessarily use crops or stir-ups. I guess I've been with my horse long enough that a pat on the side of its neck and it knows to pick up the pace

Aw. Eddie is a TB/Warmblood cross. All of the horses my instructor uses for lessons are. Wonderful horses. I mean, they have the height and bone weight of a Warmblood, but the speed and, if needed, agility of the TB.

Do you have a private instructor? Or are you in an equestrian club or something?

I'm on the Stony Brook Equestrian team. We have to take lessons with out team coach once a week if we want to compete.

Well, it's an intermural club, but we do compete with other schools, like Yale, so it is sorta a sport. I don't really know, now that you mention it.
