I have to admit that I cringe a little myself when I hear Relena's English voice actress -- too mature or just bad voice acting, I don't really know.

Speaking of an absolutely awful English voice actor: whoever did General Septum sounded like he had something very large and painful stuck up his butt when he talked.

My favorites for the dub are Scott McNeil, Kirby Morrow, Enuka Okuma, and Brian Drummond. Hells yes.

To her credit, Lisa Ann did a pretty darn good job as Captain Ramias in Gundam Seed and Destiny. Heck, for a period people thought she was also playing Captain Gladys of the Minerva in Destiny, effectively fighting against herself.

I admit, I watch the English dub of the series more often than the original Japanese, but I can't help it. I first saw the series in English, and, in the beginning, my favorite character was Duo Maxwell and that was because I loved Scott McNeill. When I first heard him, I instantly remembered Protoman from the "MegaMan" cartoon series. Still, to this day, Scott McNeill happens to be one of my favorite VAs in the business.

Actually, one thing I've heard is that Lisa Ann is herself unhappy with her performance as Relena, thinking that she made the character sound too old for a 15-year-old girl.

I still think she did a great job of it, myself. <_<

I agree with you there void. I mean sure she sounds a little old but I think that just helps add to the image that she is how you say... wise beyond her years? I always really liked the acting Lisa Ann did in Gundam Wing.

On the whole Scott/Vic thing.

Scott's actually a member of the Risembool Rangers, which is pretty much Vic's fan club/army.

Scott also has his own fan army though it's not as prominent as the Rangers as it's still in it's developing phases.

Also, on character's Scott's done he was also the voice of Wolverine in X-men Evolution. 3nodding

My bff was Scott's interim "liason" back at SakuraCon a couple years back and keeps in touch with him that's how I know all sorts of random wierd facts about the man. (She's such a Scott fangirl it's ridiculous.)

Then again.... anyone see that clip of Scott at one of the cons recreating Duo's scream from when Trowa destroyed Deathscythe? I get all squishy inside listening to that.....<3

I did a pathetic little fangirl squeal a couple of moments ago. I found out Lisa Ann Beley is going to be at the convention I am going to in August. At first I was like... 'Lisa Ann... Lisa Ann... I know that name, I could have sworn she was in Gundam Wing,' but it wasn't listed on the AE website... So I checked her out on line and when I saw Relena Peacecraft in her acting credits I just squealed, "RELENA!" like a little fan girl. I am glad no one heard it because it was a little embarrassing. redface

I've had this dream for about 6 years now to meet all of the main VAs for Gundam Wing... after meeting Lisa Ann I'll only have to seek out Mark Hildreth and Ted Cole >> << Though that just seems impossible because it does not look like either of them are attending cons anymore and I have only really seen Ted Cole in anime credits to date, Mark seems to have dropped off the edge of the earth confused

Bringing up an old thread again, but I don't think it will do too much harm.

Just a little after thought thingy on Mark Hildreth... When I asked about him at Anime Evolution this past August almost every Voice Actor there that knew him stated that he pretty much didn't want to do voice over rolls anymore. Mark aparently is the kind of actor that preffers live action and wants to stay with it. This is sad news for me, because it means I will probably never get that nice Heero Yuy autograph in my Gundam Wing art book. Sadly if he only wants to do live work, I don't think he'll ever attend another anime convention.
Although thank you for the links to his myspace and his website, I will go look at those for sure ^_^.

As far as Gundam Wing voice actors goes, I gotta say that Heero's was the best followed by Duo.

On a side note, I gained a great deal of respect for Quatre's VA when he did that crazy laugh after his home colony was blown up.

I simply adore Brad Swaile. I saw him agian this past August and he was such a sweet heart. Brad is a very funn and down to Earth kind of guy. He's also got this cool range and he can go from something like "calm and smart" to "raging and maniacal" with great ease. The first time I met him was a little unfortunate because he was forced to be a guest at the con I attended and he really didn't know how to react to fans. I really don't hold that against him like I once did... >> << I used to think he was just mean. No, I have a list of like the top 5 VAs I adore. Brad Swaile and of course Scott McNeil are on that list... As well as Michael Dobson, he plays Mr. Winner, as well as a slew of random characters. When I first met him and told him I liked Mr. Winner and that his "son" was my favourite pilot he adopted me as Quatre's 30th sister, it was quite funny.

Robin the Aussie
Hmph that's weird.
I know for a fact Scott McNeil loved doing Duo's voice I heard.
I've only heard good things about Scott. I love the Twinkie story. You guys should read about that, oh man. Hilarious. I actually really like Scott because he did the majority of the voices of the bad guys in Beast Wars and that was my all time, ultimate Saturday morning cartoon. I could not live without Beast Wars back in the day.

I've only got good things to say about Scott. I don't think he's ever been mean to any of his fans. Every time I have met him he's been really pleasant, incredibly funny, and just an over all sweet heart. I can't really picture a mean bone in the man's body. Boy is he talented too! However I think almost everyone here knows that... My favourite work of his, aside from Duo Maxwell's voice would have to be Waspenator and Ratrap on beasties. I can't remember but I think Beasties was one of his favourite shows to work on... and in response to someone else in this thread, yeah, he did enjoy playing Duo ^_^
