As the female turned her gaze to look right towards him, Tala felt a shiver of panic rush through his body and instantly attempted to play it cool, focusing his eyes dead ahead of him and swallowing hard as he attempted to walk as casually - if a little stiffly - towards the stall.

It didn't take more than a few moments under the heat of the sun before Tala realised he was actually getting quite warm... "This was a very bad idea...and all for what exactly...?" normally he wouldn't have even cared about who she was, but his childish curiosity had gotten the better of him and after a few minutes lingering by the stall, casting the occasional glance in the female's direction for a better look, the heat became far too much for him and he beat a hasty retreat towards the shade - loosening the collar of his jacket before debating if it would be a better plan to risk a little sunburn and remove the darn thing altogether...

"...So hot." He wasn't sure if she'd kept her eyes on him the whole time, but as he sat down beneath the shade of one of the buildings, he couldn't help but cast yet another glance in her direction. She was probably older than him, well, she seemed taller at least... But why was he even interested? Shaking his head, Tala looked away, turning his attention back to the stall.

It would be far too warm already to head back to the Academy - and it was a reasonably long distance now that the sun was climbing ever higher... Instead, he remained seated, drawing a knee up to his chest before closing his eyes for a moment. What had he come down here for anyway? It can't have been just for a walk - he generally wasn't spontaneous enough for that, at least, not since he'd come to Eoana... Maybe he was starting to get comfortable enough that he was subconsciously falling back into old habits?

At the thought of that, Tala opened his eyes and looked across at the market stalls again. He'd had some reasonably good times back home and felt his fingers twitch at the thought of summoning up a small shade to 'relieve' one of the items from the counter and perhaps slink it across the ground towards another stall - thus causing a little confusion and perhaps a brief altercation between vendors - But he was better than that... Although it had been a year already, he was still trying to be good...right?

Shaking the motion from his hand and any further thought of hijinks from his mind, Tala rested his palm upon his knee and tilted his head back against the cold stone of the wall behind him. It felt nice...but he knew it wouldn't last for long, what with the sun's rays gradually creeping across the ground towards him.

[ - Enter Emma for New RP Day - ]

Carrying a basket full of goodies, Emma leisurely walked through the marketplace. Wearing one of her newest dresses, a gift to herself for all of her hard work, she felt like a new girl. As of late, she hadn’t seen much of her girlfriend, Sarai, who’d been overly busy with work and truth be told, she felt a bit down. Emma had debated going to the barracks to surprise Sarai, but at the same time, she didn’t want to bother Sarai – she was clearly busy anyway.

Thus, Emma had opted to treat herself a little and do what she wanted to do on her day off. Humming lightly to herself, she walked from vendor to vendor, purchasing little things here and there – a small basket of fresh strawberries, some chocolates, a pastry or two. All in all, Emma knew that she was just distracting herself from her own worries, but she couldn’t help it.

Walking down the street, she kept her head held high and tried to soak up as much sun as she could. It was a beautiful day and she wouldn’t see it go to waste.

Once he was back out in the sunshine, it didn't take long for Cyrus to realise it was perhaps the best idea that he hadn't come in full uniform - wearing a casual white top he ensured he wore the Guard's Crest so he was recognised if trouble arose.

Already wiping the sweat from his brow, the Tiger made his way down the path towards the Marketplace, finding himself something cool to drink before starting his rounds. It was good to see so many people out enjoying the sunshine - even if they were still on alert for the Elderly couple, the citizens weren't so afraid that they were letting it stop them from getting out and enjoying the good weather.

Attaching the water pouch to his belt, Cyrus would find his way into the centre, his eyes scanning the scene and noting at least one new face before spotting one whom had eluded him for a good while. "Now there's a face I didn't expect to see."

Tala's ears would twitch at the sound of the man's voice and he would turn his head, quickly regretting his choice and turning his gaze away as he saw the Guard make his way over,

"How the Devil are you lad?" Standing somewhat in the sun as well as the dwindling shade, the Tiger beamed down at the Shadowmancer, "It feels like an age since I've seen you."

There was no getting out of it... Tala would exhale a sigh, but kept his gaze fixed upon the marketplace infront of him, "About the same as last we met." he replied, his voice showing little interest in the need to talk, "You?"

"I'm doing quite well actually," he still had moments where he felt low and couldn't stop the depressive thoughts from coming, but he'd learnt to hide it well, "You...up to much?" Folding his arms, he recalled the youth's brief history as a troublemaker and cocked an eyebrow, wondering if Tala had any plans for mischief, or whether or not he was just out enjoying the sun...

"Just...Enjoying the sun." Tala's reply held a fair sting of sarcasm and the Tiger picked that up instantly, narrowing his eyes, but knowing he shouldn't expect anything less...

As Sarai continued her wandering, hoping to run across Emma and surprise her, she thought about something she can give her lovely dearest. Pastries are a safe bet, but Sarai does not want to go the safe route today. More than often she chooses the road less traveled, and most of the time she ends up being successful. She also does not want to buy a random piece of jewelry that she may not like. This gift felt like it needed a personal touch. That is when she remembered that she was working on a gift for Emma. Did she bring it with her? She reached for the pouch that contained her money and searched it. Inside the money pouch she found the gift that she was working on for Emma. It is a simple anklet made out of the material that she was either able to scavenge or purchase at the market for cheap. She hoped to have the second one ready, but she can promise Emma that she will have a second one in the works as soon as she can. She returned the anklet into her money pouch and kept wandering until her eyes caught the sight of someone familiar. It was the person who she had been searching for and wanted to catch up on lost time. It is Emma, carrying various food items in a basket, a beautiful sight as always. It is not much of a secret that Emma is as wonderful as she is pretty, especially within the circle of folks who regularly visit the tavern that she works at. However, to be in a relationship with this woman is a special treat that Sarai does not wish to waste. What should she do? It does not seem like the barmaid noticed her yet, so she can take this opportunity to surprise. This could be risky and end in disaster, but the tanned guard will do it anyways. As soon as she was close enough to Emma, she wrapped her arms around her from behind, gently raised and spun her around once before setting her down and allowing her turn around. As soon as she did, Sarai surprised Emma once again by smooching her on the lips, showing of her typical confident grin afterwards, then said,

"There is no way you can ever stop being so radiant is there? If so, then I thank the gods and my ancestors for letting this pass...lovely dress you are wearing as well. It compliments you so well. Now before you say anything to me, I like to apologize for not seeing you as often as I should. My duties as a guard and overseeing the training of all those within my command has kept me busy. I want to make this up to you if you will let me."

Emma had just picked up a rather juicy looking apple to purchase when she was surprised from behind. Gasping in shock and alarm, she nearly dropped the apple as Sarai picked her up and twirled her around, her dress billowing out beautifully as her girlfriend twirled her. By the time her feet touched the ground again, Emma’s cheeks were the same color as the apple in her hand. Eyes wide, she looked up at Sarai with a little frown only to have her lips captured in a surprise kiss. Squeaking lightly, Emma placed her free hand upon her chest in an attempt to calm her racing heart.

“Sarai!” Emma’s shocked word didn’t seem to have any effect as Sarai began to speak, praising her for her natural loveliness and her new attire. Emma held her tongue as Sarai requested as she apologized for getting absorbed into her work. Emma understood that Sarai’s duties came first – as Reynard’s second lieutenant she had a lot of responsibility. But at the same time, Emma didn’t like being neglected either. ‘At least she realized she was neglecting me…’ Emma thought with a little sigh.

Arching a brow at Sarai’s words, she tilted her head to the side slightly, as if curious. “Oh? You’re going to make it up to me? How so?” She had to admit she was curious to see how Sarai would smooth things over after the extended absence of affections.

Philia would only watch in silence as the male was approached by another person, the two began conversing and to some extend, she would listen in. She was curious about that boy, something in her gut told her to keep observing him, why however she was not yet sure. Watching them, the man that approached the boy appeared... Cautious. A troublemaker, huh... She sighs.

She adjusted herself on the bench and crossed her arms behind her head, gazing back up to the sky. The woman made sure to cast the odd glance at the pair, watching for details she should remember should she ever interact with them. Body language, vocal patterns, little habits... I may have to find somewhere to sleep soon... It was just too warm for her to get anything done, she would much rather stay where she was until the sun began to set and the heat would dim...

"So I see..." By now, Cyrus had folded his arms, watching as the youth shifted his position slightly just to avoid being caught in the sun... "Maybe you should lose the jacket or something?" he tilted his head, "Even I ditched all the armour today it was that warm out,"

"What are you doing out here anyway?" The youth's comment seemed a little sharp and completely ignored the man's concerns, but the Tiger would put it down to Tala being out in the heat too long, rather than just the fact that he didn't exactly appreciate being singled out for conversation, "Shouldn't you be arresting little old ladies for illegally peddling their wears or something?"

"Haha, no," Cyrus would take the comment in his stride, even laughing it off, "I'm just keeping an eye out for suspicious persons and troublemakers, if you know what I mean?" had Tala been on his feet at the time, he may have received a playful nudge, but as he was seated, Cyrus would merely wink, hinting at his own suspicions about the youth before stretching and casting a glance around, "Unless you've seen something?"

Tala of course would roll his eyes at the man's reply, then with a sigh, he pushed himself to his feet, dusting off his pants before turning to find somewhere else he could loiter out of the sun... "Not me."

"Ah, that's all good then." Nodding, Cyrus watched as Tala rose, taking a step back to give the youth a bit of space before watching as he straightened out his hood and unzipped his jacket a little, "Maybe you should seek out the Tailor or something, get yourself something cooler to wear - I'd hate to see you become ill from the heat..."

"Thank you for your concerns, but I'm fine." stifling a subtle growl, Tala would turn, his eyes momentarily falling upon the female with whom he'd locked eyes with only briefly, before he would set his sights on a more covered street and start walking,

"If you say so," Shrugging, Cyrus would watch the youth take his leave before shuffling over and taking up his first hour of duty against the wall - in the shade - He wasn't daft, but hoped the youth would see sense and perhaps shed a layer or two when the moment arose.

Sarai figured that taking a dominant role would be a good start to ensure that Emma does not make a pouty face. That type of face is not something Sarai likes to see on a face like her. There is also the feeling of guilt that she associates with it. This method has proven effective so far, and today is no exception. If she had not come up from behind, surprised her with a hug, followed by a kiss on the lips and giving her compliments without giving much time for Emma to respond, the barmaid may not have been so receptive toward her like she is right now. There is still a chance that either Sarai can screw this up or Emma will put on a face that shows displeasure as a way of getting Sarai to do something bold to get back on the barmaid's good graces. Needless to say, but the latter method has also proven effective in the past. However, Emma asked how Sarai plans on making it up for lost time and she is about to show her how. To start off, she scooped Emma off the ground without warning, although not too quick so that she does not drop the basket of goodies she is carrying nor the apple in her hand. While carrying her bridal style, she walked over to a place where she can have Emma sit down with her feet still off the ground. Once she was sitting down, Sarai knelt down and removed her left boot before reaching into her pouch and pulled out the anklet that she checked for earlier. She made sure Emma was allowed to see what it was before tieing the anklet around her left ankle. She did this slowly to make sure that it did not fall off and tease Emma bit when her hands gently caressed her foot momentarily. Once Sarai was finished, she stood up with a smile on her face and said to Emma,

"I do hope you like your gift. I am working on the other one so your right foot won't be lonely. I am glad I managed to accurately figure out the proper size for your feet. Aside from this gift, today I will be escorting everywhere you go. In addition, I shall carry you to every place you need to go and promise you two dates this week. Will that be to your liking?"

All Emma could do was hold on as Sarai carried her away. The apple vendor was so entertained by the display that she told Emma to keep the apple in her hand. Emma called out a quick ‘thank you’ to the woman before Sarai took her too far away. To her surprise, Sarai sat her down on a high stone wall, her legs dangling over the side. Curious as to what Sarai was up to, Emma kept quiet as her girlfriend removed her boot and pulled a rather expensive looking anklet out of her side pouch.

Blushing lightly, Emma could only watch as Sarai put it on her. It fit perfectly, and it looked lovely on her dainty foot. “Oh Sarai, it’s beautiful, did you make it?” Emma asked as she turned her foot this way and that to see the lovely new addition to her wardrobe.

Looking up at her girlfriend, Emma arched a brow and gave her a small smile as if to say ‘oh really’, when she mentioned carrying her everywhere and taking her on not one, but two dates that week. “A gift and two dates? You do know how to apologize properly.” Emma said with a smile as she lightly kicked her feet, her hands braced on the edge of the wall. Seated like this, she and Sarai were nearly eye to eye, it was nice.

“Luckily for you, I don’t have any errands to run…I was just strolling through the marketplace for fun…but I suppose we could go somewhere for a late lunch, early dinner…” Truth be told Emma had been buying more fruits than she really needed because she was hungry – never shop on an empty stomach!

Opening her arms, she silently gestured for Sarai to come close, so Emma could hug her and give her a loving kiss. Draping her arms around the back of Sarai’s neck, she looked up into her eyes with a little pout. “I missed you….don’t neglect me like that again. If you’re busy, just send one of your lackies with a note or something to let me know you’re at least thinking of me, okay?” Emma said with a little huff. The truth was, Emma needed attention and affection, like any woman, she had doubts about herself, even if Sarai was always affectionate when they were together.

"Indeed. I'll admit it was time-consuming to gather the resources I needed and I could have completed this sooner if my time was not stretched thin, but I figured crafting something like this for you was worth it all. I am glad that you like it and I hope I will be able to craft a second anklet soon."

It is relieving to hear from Sarai that her gift to her is beautiful. This was not meant to be an apologetic gift, and Sarai hopes that the second identical anklet will not take so long to complete and it will be a gift on a special day. Right now she has to fulfill a part of her promise to take Emma on two dates instead of one this week since Emma is not running any important errands and Sarai does have any immediate responsibilities to attend to. Where can she take this woman for a late lunch or early dinner? The tavern is probably not ideal, mostly due to Sarai being unsure if it is open right now. When Emma gestured for Sarai to come close, she happily obliged and grabbed her by the waist when lovely barmaid hugged her and gave her a loving kiss. She did not like feeling like she was being neglected, and Sarai did not want that to happen again. Perhaps she can send Cyrus with a message to her if another emergency occurs or Rey gives her a specific assignment that will take much of her time. The guard's grin remained on her face, although this one was more sweet than confident or cocky. She reached for Emma's removed boot, picked it up, then turned around before grabbing onto the barmaid's thighs and propped her on Sarai's back. With the outfit that she is wearing today, Emma can see most of the ink on Sarai's back. This is her fulfilling another bit of her promise today, which is to carry Emma to anyplace she desires for the rest of the day. Turning her head to the left so that she can see Emma as much as she could, the redheaded guard said to her,

"I will be sure to take time out of my busy days to make sure I write to you and let you know that I am thinking of you even though I am not with you. You have my word. Now...it would be a waste to allow everything you purchased today go to waste. How about I carry you to a place where we can be alone and enjoy these goods together?"

Since the only person even slightly worse examining left, Philia found herself just staring up at the bright sky for a long while, almost dozing of on the bench. "I shouldn't linger then." She finally sighed before rising from her seat, brushing her coat straight.

The woman explored the market for several more minutes until her exploration came to an end. It surely didn't seem like there was anything of particular interest. "Hm... Maybe something will show up someday." Philia would make a mental note to check the place out in the future as she walked off to find an inn for the night.

After spending much of the previous day just wandering around, enjoying the warm summery weather and getting a feel for the freedom he had gained from the Graduation and of course the Summer Break, Rick had decided that today was a day where he was going to give something back to the community - Okay, he wasn't exactly giving much, but he had to admit, he missed the smiling faces he would see whilst travelling with his family around Valor and so it just felt right to get his Violin out and entertain a few of the crowds in the marketplace.

With Branwen flying on ahead of him, Patrick would make his way down to the Market District Streets and find a nice shaded location where he could set up. He had no real intention on making any profit - that wasn't the point - but if the listeners decided to drop a few coins in his direction, he wouldn't complain.

Testing his Violin - plucking the strings carefully to ensure they would sound right when played - Rick would match the scales with his voice before drawing the bow from where it hung on his hip and preparing himself mentally to entertain. Before he drew the bow across the strings, he would glance up to the tree above, ensuring Branwen was nearby before saying a quiet grace to those who had taught him his skills.

He would open with an instrumental, perhaps drawing the curiosity of the crowd before giving them a little taste of his voice with the song that followed. His Grandfa had told him often that it was wise to switch between the two as following a vocal song with an instrumental allowed the voice to recover for the next time.

Branwen would keep out of the way for the initial few songs, then, feeling a little left out, she would flutter down, inspecting the small pouch for what had already been tossed in, before finding her way onto the Diviner's Shoulder. She would remain here for a moment before his twisting and turning began to leave her a little dizzy and so, as the male moved onto another song, she would retire to the top of one of the nearby benches to preen.

Emma knew that Sarai was sorry for what had happened. It wasn’t her girlfriends fault that her schedule was so hectic and unpredictable. Sadly, Emma was well aware of how busy the guards could get at any given time – Sarai wasn’t the first guard Emma had ever dated…In any case, she was glad to see that Sarai was sorry and would try to at least notify her of what was going on in the future. Truth be told, Emma really liked Sarai and wanted to make this relationship work, but it did take two to keep the relationship going…

“Alright…but this doesn’t count as one of the two dates, since I bought all of the goodies we’ll be enjoying.” Emma said with a little knowing smile as Sarai scooped her back up and began to walk through the streets with her toward the beach where they could sit and enjoy the cool ocean breeze.

    [ - End Interaction for RP Day - ]

    ~*~

[ - Begin New Interaction for New RP Day - ]

After a lovely day with Sarai, Emma and Sarai had parted ways after sundown. It was rare that Sarai could sleep over at the Tavern – it was ideal since Sarai had a roommate at the barracks, which meant less privacy if Emma slept over. But, with any luck, she and Sarai would have their own place someday. With that thought in mind, Emma had awoke early and headed back to the market place. Sarai had given her a beautiful gift and she wanted to return the favor.

Perusing the vendors, Emma was in search of something for Sarai. Unlike her girlfriend, Emma couldn’t craft very well. She knew that if she tried to make Sarai a necklace or a bracelet that it would turn out to be a disaster or break at the slightest touch – not ideal for an active guard lieutenant…

Emma visited half a dozen jewelry vendors before she found something that she knew that Sarai would love. Funny enough, it was a set of anklets. Although Emma was saving to open her own Tavern, she felt that the expense was worth it – Sarai was worth it. Parting with some of her gold was worth it if Sarai liked the anklets and knew how much she meant to Emma.

With a little velvet pouch in hand, Emma smiled to herself as she headed toward the Barracks. There was no telling if Sarai was free to spend time with her today, but it didn’t hurt to go visit…

And for some strange reason, he was back here again... Maybe he was just drawn by the crowds...Zael had reawakened his interest in 'People Watching' but after meeting up with the Strange Bird, Tala couldn't help but feel there might have been a reason he'd passed through there the day before...

Tala's attention was drawn elsewhere this morning however - he had barely entered the Market Streets when his ears caught the sound of music - A Violin to be more specific... Like many others, he advanced towards the sound, tilting his head as someone started singing... A small crowd had gathered around the ginger-haired male and it took a moment before the Shadowmancer recognised Rick's face - if anything, he'd spotted the male's bird first and although its name escaped him, it seemed as alert as ever.

Setting himself up to lean in the shadows, Tala would observe the Crowds as they came and went at varying intervals, dropping the occasional coin as they paused to listen. Had he the confidence, the Shadowmancer may just have considered 'entertaining' like the Diviner had - He certainly seemed to be bringing in the coin...

He would hold his position against the wall for a while, listening to the male perform - well, at least until Patrick paused for a short break before resuming... Then, losing interest, Tala would glance around, getting a strange, tingling feeling before turning away, his eyes narrowing towards a darkened alleyway.

Perhaps he was curious? No, there was something more than that. Casting a final look towards the crowd, Tala would walk calmly towards the alleyway, turning into the passageway as he drew level before moving ever deeper out of the light of the sun.

~ Philia entered the Market District Streets ~

Returning to the Markets seemed like a good start... Philia had yet to memorise any noteworthy spots aside from the nearby alleys found within the District. Upon arrival her ears were soothed by the sound of a violin... A most comforting sound indeed... And a decent distraction for the locals. Philia made her way through the area and spotted a nearby alley. Perhaps I'll get lucky... She'd wonder, responding to a summon was never easy... Always down to chance.

Upon entering the Alleyways she could already feel that claustrophobic atmosphere and less-than-preferred stench from within its dank, gloomy walls. "Now... Is she here. ...Hm?" Philia stared intently down the alley, spotting a figure not far in front of her... Upon closer inspection she recognised him, it was that strange boy from yesterday. It seemed too coincidental that he was skulking about here, but then again... "Probably just avoiding crowds." He sure seemed the type. Regardless she leaned up to a wall and crossed her arms, watching him through the corner of her eye just in case...
