Yuki surveyed his handiwork, pleased with how the bandage had come out. “Okay, just let me know if starts bothering you too much. I can always adjust it,” he nodded, smiling up at Katiki. He liked feeling useful somehow. Who knew that all his experience with bandaging Kaya after her various injuries would come in handy like this? It was both pleasing yet troubling at the same time. “Oh yeah,” Yuki blushed when Alyssa reminded him about the Magic Council stationed in Washington, D.C. “I sort of forgot that. But they could still operate in places like Orlando and Atlanta.” The little Exceed turned to look up at Andrea. “Looking for central cities wouldn’t be too hard I don’t think. We’d obviously be looking in the middle of the country, more or less, since New York and LA were both hit. What other cities have been attacked too? I heard someone say Texas, and we were in Leavenworth. Where would that mark the center?” Tiny paw tucked under his chin, he contemplated which cities might fit the bill. Somewhere close to all the attacks but far enough away not to raise suspicion. Orlando might be out of the running, now that he thought about it. It would be the furthest away from everything. Not central to any of the locations. So, what does that leave? Phoenix, Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas, Chicago- these were just a few of the ones he could remember off the top of his head.
The conversation had steered in a different direction by the time Yuki drew from his private thoughts. I’ll have to file those away for later. He didn’t want to break the focus on the group right now. Maybe when they were in a more private setting, away from the scene of the fight and crowds. For now, it sounded as if there had been some luck with the CCTV footage. A partial license plate could be seen. It was also clear from the expressions on the others’ faces that the boy’s suffering was immense. Yuki felt a little glad he didn’t watch the footage. His abilities were best served tending to wounds and searching the field for clues. Speaking of which, he would need to keep a sharp lookout for the cuffs. He imagined they would be more difficult to find amidst the mangled and marred debris strewn about, though not impossible. His nose twitched the introduction of two new smells. Blue-grey eyes cast over to where two new mages had arrived. One of them looked and smelled distinctly like a dog. Not that it bothered Yuki. He actually didn’t have issue with dogs. From what he could tell, the mages were part of Sabertooth and were conducting another leg of the investigation. I wonder if they found anything to help? From the look on the dark-haired male, he guessed they hadn’t come across much. Yuki waited for introductions to be made and information to be exchanged before turning back to Katiki. “I’m going to scout around some. You should probably rest your leg for a bit longer. It looked like it was starting to ooze a little,” he gave her a soft smile as he started to survey the nearby rubble.
- Aera: A Magic that allows its users to sprout large angelic wings that give them the ability to fly. While flying, the user can carry objects or people, but is limited to carrying only one passenger. Furthermore, there is also a time limit to how long the user can fly, as the wings disappear after the user's Magic Power is depleted. The users can also change the speed in which they fly, but the faster they go, the more Magic Power they consume. -Max Speed: By using Magic Power the user increases their speed to the extremes, allowing them to fly a distance relative to the amount they used. This speed can be used to dodge incoming attacks. While using this spell, the user can also carry one additional person. However, this spell is restricted by the amount of Magic Power the user has. Once the user runs out, they will collapse. -Max Speed Attack: While flying and using Max Speed, the user strikes the target with their head, dealing a strong blow. -Whirlwind Attack: The user flaps their wings so hard that it actually creates a whirlwind able to blow back opponents.

Sasha Ulkia- Magic and technology informant for Russia Secret Service Technology Department
Sasha sat there with her computer in hand looking over the video, the bagged arm sitting next to her, with her glasses on she kept re-watching the video to see if she missed anything, around the time they took the boy out of the car she paused it it was only for a brief moment but a small black haired girl could be seen peaking out from the car. With quick fingers she snapped the pic of her, and saved it, and again once again when she zoomed in further, and a clip 2 seconds before the car left, the full plate was shown. T478Y22. "YES!" she screamed happily, with a look at Katiki and the rest of the mages there she smiled happily and went back to work, placing a blank disk into her computer to copy the information she found.
Katiki sat on a rock, while Yuki finished wrapping her leg once again. With a sad sigh she looked down at the little exceed and placed a sad smile upon her face. "I'll be sure to take it easy..." she reassured him, her voice soft. *So its oozing again... I wonder if sabertooth has any healing mages...* she thought softly. Katiki glanced towards Alyssa and the other mages with sadness in her eyes. * I couldn't even protect Kaya, let alone Alyssa, or even Yuki..* Her glance went towards Sasha as she shouted in excitement, *Guess she found something* she thought as she looked down again. terrible things plaguing her mind, sending her back into a dark place. Thoughts of failure, death, loss, and many more. Katiki's eyes glazed over as she stared at the ground and at her injured leg. With a hardened glare at it and the thought of the Solar Mage, her hands started shaking. *I will kill that b****d*. Then the idea hit her mind, *I... I have to leave Fairy Tail...* she thought sadly. "Its the only way.." she said to herself. Looking back up at her friends a loan tear escaped her ice blue eyes and a sad smile upon her face as she looked at Alyssa. *She's going to be so mad when she finds out...* she thought sadly. With her mind made up she planned to leave fairy tail for a while once everything calmed down and her friends were safe. Until then she would do her best to help them and not loath in her self pity. Wincing as she got up she tried to walk as normal as possible over to group of mages. She let a small smile and nod to the two new mages. "Hello, its a pleasure to meet new mages, I'm the ice queen of fairy tail Katiki Inu." OOC: Hey I did a little editing on his so if anything needs to be changed let me know smile
"Alright, I still find it hard to believe that they would drive a long distance with such a high risk of him going off like he did. That's kinda of the same idea of driving with a ticking time bomb that has a random timer. It's increasingly risky, even if they did all the calculations there is still that chance they didn't count for. Running the risk of him destroying things before they can even drop him off and also possibly die in the processed. It would mess up their plans and force them to change slightly if he didn't hold out as long as they wanted. They could have flown him then rented a car, that would have taken less time than driving but then they would need to have their own jet or have some corrupted private plane owner working with them. As for the sensing magic, you make a good point. However, we didn't even know that boy was in town until the destruction happened. We caught nothing of him coming in. If their magic cuffs are powerful enough for us not to be able to pick it up before it's to late then why wouldn't the be able to amplify it? All they need is a room with the metal of the cuffs covering it. It's not impossible for today's world with the technology we have. If they did take them off the kid then at least it's more possible to be able to travel long distances. Still a high risk though, things can malfunction when we least expect it." Andrea spoke, yet she had yet to breath properly while speaking.
"Hub cities might be a good place to start, however they would still need places close to the guilds. Let's run with Yuki's example, if they had a lab in Washington DC they would have to be on a plane for five hours just to get here, or thirty nine hours by car. From Orland to here is about the same amount of time. Five hours by plane and thirty six hours by car. Though, taking I-10 E they would go right past Huston which is only two hours south east of Austin. Kansas City would be the closes to middle that they could get for being between all the guilds, it would be to risky and take to much time if they were on the east coast trying to get to the west coast. There is Denver, which would only be about a two hour flight or a fifteen hour drive to us, but that's not much of a city and they would probably stick out there. Out of all the guilds, the vast majority are closer to the east coast; Texas being more towards far south but closes to the middle; while Sabertooth, Mermaid Heel, and that guild out in Hawaii cover the west coast. If they wanted to work from a single location it would be best to pick somewhere in the middle so they can reach all the guilds... unless they had a partner in this all which took care of the west while they did whatever they wanted in the east. But if they worked from a single location it would make them increasingly easy to find seeing as everything would lead right back to them. If they were as organized as they seem that would be an incredibly dumb move regardless of how cocky they were." The Sabertooth mage took a deep breath in before letting out an exhausted sigh, it was a lot of speaking she had just done but she felt as if she had covered it all. Her mind went over what else she could have said or pointed out. It was to important for them just to narrow down onto one area, they didn't have enough information and if they started thinking it was just one spot then they could totally over look important information that could point them in the right direction. If they didn't bother looking then they could risk the organization to grow back and continue doing their work. That was something they could not allow. "Oh! Right!" She had forgotten the two cities closest to them which were San Diego and Los Vegas both though were still pretty far out. One being a two our drive and the other being a four hour drive. However, before she could say anymore a familiar voice called out.
Turning her head the Elemental mage saw two familiar faces, one she was glad to see. The S-Rank smiled as she walked over to greet them "Hey! Glad to see you again and that you were safe." Before she could say anymore Octavia and Alyssa had already jumped to questioning and informing the two Sabertooth mages about everything. Not long after the other Fairy Tail mage introduced herself. "We were about to split up and look for anything else that can help us before I bring the wall down. I can already hear the people gathering outside of it. Since I don't have a cell I'll need to be with someone though." Andrea sighed, electronics just never lived long on her though her magic was the reason to blame for that. It was probably one of her biggest pains and she had spent enough money in earlier years replacing each phone she busted until it got to expensive. The thoughts of her cellphoneless annoyed her but she quickly bushed those aside, although it hindered her and was a bit problematic she would have to work with it as best she could. It didn't take her long to think of who she wanted to team up with. "Rin, mind if I partner up with you while we search?" The brunette would like the chance to be around her friend, this whole thing had her feeling like she was wound up tight. Though she wasn't going to force him to search with her if he didn't, she would just ask someone else if they minded.

Guild- Sabertooth | Rank- A-rank | Magic- Satan Soul Takeover
They couldn’t waste time lingering on the outer side of the wall. The crowds were starting to reach a fevered pitch. Their anxiety and curiosity palpable. Even the police seemed fidgety as they tried to maintain a barrier between the wall and the onlookers. Thankfully, most of the crowd lingered at the front of the massive stone wall instead of the far side of it. Which is exactly why Rin chose that spot to go over the top of it. Less crowded meant less eyes to witness them or overhear them. Not that anyone could be heard over the roar of the crowd anyway. His ears rang from the voices echoing one over the other. Although, despite the noise, somehow Alec managed to be that much louder with his insults towards Rin. The Takeover mage rolled his eyes at his brother’s outbursts. “You know,” his eyebrow twitched, “We’re half-brothers. My demon stench is the same as yours, idiot.” Typically, Rin’s heritage being used to insult him would anger him. He disliked people using it to try to explain something away or offend him. Alec’s tirades were different though. When he insulted Rin, he essentially insulted himself in the same token without even realizing it. That amused the older brother. Spreading his wings, the dark-haired male took flight, going up and over the wall with one powerful flap of his wings. His feet touched the ground seconds before his brother’s. “This prissy a** wuss,” he smirked at Alec, “Just kicked your butt.” What could he say? He was a competitive guy, and Alec deserved to be knocked down a peg or two. Rin never could resist the chance to tease him about a loss.
But Alec was also a sore loser. Whenever he lost to Rin, he’d get even by causing a scene of some sort. His chosen method today was targeting Andrea and Octavia. “Oi!” Rin knocked him in the back of the head with a fist. A swift strike that would seem to come out of nowhere. “Knock it off! Don’t cause trouble when we’ve got bigger things to deal with here!” With a fierce glare, he made sure his point came across before turning to face Andrea. Cheeks flushing slightly, he managed a nervous smile and a wave. “H-hey, Andrea. Yeah, we didn’t run into too much trouble.” He then shifted to Octavia. His features softened instantly as he met her expectant gaze. “He was awake, yeah, but we didn’t get a lot out of him. He started to freak out when he started to remember everything. The nurses had to sedate him so he wouldn’t hurt himself.” Rin ran a hand through his hair. “He’s alive at least. In bad shape obviously, but alive.” The boy had been through a lot. There was no doubt he would have a long road to recover. Some of the nurses didn’t seem to think he’d ever be able to fully recover, however. Unsurprising considering the level of trauma he’d suffered. But we still gotta hope everything turns out alright for him. Rin didn’t want to imagine the worst. People could surprise you with their fighting spirit. “Really?!” His dour expression brightened considerably. “You guys found a heck of a lot more than we did. Sounds like we might have a good place to start with that.” The teenager debated on whether to elaborate further about their own investigation. This fight was enough to warrant all their attention and efforts. Yet Rin simply couldn’t let go of the feeling the boy and Raine’s disappearance were somehow tied together. In the end, the decision was taken out of his hands when a strikingly familiar woman greeted him, with the rest of her party following suit.
“I thought that was you,” Rin smiled warmly and shook her hand. “I recognized you from your stints in Sorcerer’s Weekly. A friend of mine loves that thing.” His gaze flicked to Katiki and Yuki. “I recognize your name from the magazine too. Hard to miss a title like Ice Queen. I’m Rin Hideyoshi. Takeover Mage of Sabertooth. And this loudmouth,” he jerked his thumb at Alec. “Is my younger brother, Alec Remo. It’s nice to finally meet you guys.” The young man didn’t mention it, but he was curious why the Exceed didn’t have his Slayer partner with him. From what he recalled, Yuki’s partner was a Water Dragon Slayer named Kaya. Did something happen? He’d have to remember to ask about it later. They needed to focus on one thing at a time here. Looking to Alyssa, he sighed and shook his head, “That depends on your definition of ‘interesting.’” Man, he really didn’t want to have to break this news to his guildmates. “We’ve got a bit of a problem actually.” Rin glanced at Andrea before glimpsing Octavia. His tone serious and grave to draw their attention. “Raine’s missing. Alec and I went to this house to get him but…there wasn’t much left. We think whoever sent the kid here to fight might’ve had a hand in whatever happened at Raine’s place. My guess is that they waited for him to get back from the battle and jumped him. Alec smelled a weird drug in one of the bottles too.” He closed his eyes, imagining the burnt-out husk of their Ace’s house. “We couldn’t get much more than that. Other than we think a Fire Dragon Slayer may have been involved. But that’s all we got. Between us, I think you guys have more viable clues.” Unlike at Raine’s house, there was CCTV footage to examine and the possibility of other clues surfacing.
A final sweep through sounded appropriate. They didn’t want to run the risk of overlooking something and missing an important piece of the puzzle. “Yeah,” he nodded to Andrea, acknowledging her comment about the crowd. “We had to fight through a swarm to get to the far corner. People are wanting to know what’s happening back here. Others want to get their stuff. I think doing one more good sweep is a solid plan. We don’t want to rush things and wind up missing a clue because of it.” Rin also agreed with Alyssa on keeping whatever they find a secret from the police for the time being. The LAPD were quick to confiscate evidence when they knew about it. “Umm,” the Takeover mage wanted to know who he should team up with. His heart wanted to be with one specific person while his head didn’t want to push it. As luck would have it, that very same person requested to team up with him. WITH HIM OF ALL PEOPLE! Rin thought his heart would stop. A giddiness filled him, although tempered by the seriousness of the situation. “N-no, I don’t mind. Where should we start?”
Alec ruffled his nose after hearing Rin's comment, still he snorted back. "Don't even compare it to mine, idiot! Yours scent is more like a wet dogs!" He mocked, though the scents were essentially the same, he liked to think that was of the opposite truth. "We may be half brothers, but I'd rather not be associated with you at all!" He barked in spite, charging to try and race him over the top of the wall and get to the bottom before he could. But, Rin's little wings helped speed him up faster, and arrived moments before his own feet would settle upon the gravel. Alec growled in a competitive nature, he was always losing against his older brother and it sincerely pissed him off for the most part. "Shut up or I'll cut your sissy a** wings off!!"emotion_bigvein He insulted with a vein popping out in annoyance, though his insult towards Octavia which he pretty much called her on a daily basis annoyed her in turn. She didn't seem all too pleased, but that was to be expected, and was intentionally him wanting to rile her up from her sweet and innocent self. "Short stacks aren't allowed to talk back! You couldn't punch a fly, like you really believe you could hit me ahahah!" Alec mocked laughing at her, not even caring in the slightest really, he liked messing with others. "The only way you'll see it small fry is if we go on a date! Like I would ever date a tiny tot!" He laughed in a mocking tone once again, firing back at the joke of not finding his weenie.
As Alec was totally focused on insulting the small girl, Rin sacked a punch on the back of his head sneakily, as he rubbed the ache. "You b*****d!! When this is all settled you better hide cause I'm going to kick your a** into the ground!!" He snarled at his brother in anger towards him being smacked upside the head, he was going to get back at him for that at a later date. Andd maybe not because usually he lost to Rin, but he would never willingly back down from a challenge. Than there it was, Rin's hitting on Andrea thing going on, he'd whisper loud enough for anyone to hear. "Get a room lovebirds." He teased, though Alec's attention soon turned to another chick, who's apparent name was Alyssa and she was an S rank of Fairy Tail. She sure didn't look like a tough cookie, and he was one to judge by appearance. She looked like she could be on one of those magazine things..if he actually read it. He growled at Rin's comment of calling him a loud mouth, though he really didn't say much because greetings weren't his thing truth be told. He folded his arms, something he usually did when he was feeling rather annoyed. "Of course boyfriend and girlfriend would want to partner there search, now they could make love alone." Alec snickered in a lower tone, but still was meant to be heard by them. If he got partnered up with short stuff, the shorty jokes were just beginning. Though frankly, he preferred being the lone wolf and searching himself. He figured he could blow the joint up whom kidnapped there comrades by himself, but he didn't need anyone getting on his a** if he tried that. So, he simply waited patiently.

☆17☆Celestial Wizard☆Sabertooth☆
✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯
Octavia listened to the conversation between all the people around her, thinking hard about what each of them were saying. What struck her was Andrea's theory on the nullification material adaptation,"Like a portable metal box? That's a valid idea. Downright clever. But would those people have managed to let him out so fast? The footage showed them coming in and out in a matter of seconds when they dropped him off. Surely they couldn't risk opening it in transit in case he came out too soon. I don't know... everything we're suggesting would all be a good explanation,"she sighed. The celestial wizard wished she had something more productive to add to the theories but she couldn't come up with anything. Just questioning everyone else's thoughts and ideas. Her glance flicked to the ice-make wizard seated close by. She looked to be in a fair amount of pain. Octavia approached the ice queen and smiled warmly at her."That wound looks pretty bad. Um... Would you mind if I called on Leo to help you? He's not a healing spirit per say but he's stitched me up a couple of times when I've run into some trouble. He might be able to do something with his magic."Without waiting for an answer, she produced a shining gold key and opened a portal. The muscular blonde-haired man with fluffy ears appeared, looking a lot more relaxed than he had in their earlier battle. No longer was he topless but now wearing a dapper suit. He smiled, flashing his white teeth and sharp canines,"Hey, my lucky eight ball, what's up?"he asked. Octavia stood beside Katiki and pointed to her leg,"Leo, can you help with this?"she questioned. The lion spirit approached the ice queen and crouched down,"Jeez, what did you do, sweetheart? Lemme take a look at that."He gently took her calf in his hand to lift her injured leg closer. Octavia laughed nervously,"Uh, he's very... hands on. Sorry,"she said, worried the Fairy Tail wizard might take offence to her spirits actions. Leo held his free hand over the area, allowing a golden glow to envelope his fingers as he ran them across the area that looked the most affected before releasing her,"There, how's that?"he asked. He flinched at the sound of Octavia's more shrill tone as she argued with her guild mate."You're a disgusting person, Alec!"she yelled,"Like I'd ever want to date someone like you! You're worse than Raine and that's saying something! I'm surprised you've even been allowed to stay in Sabertooth with that vile personality!"Leo frowned,"Excuse me for a moment, sweetheart,"he said, leaving Katiki and standing behind his wizard,"Hey, calm down"he said soothingly,"And you. Alec. Don't ever talk to my girl like that again. You might think you're hot s**t but I'd never let a scumbag like you even touch her. I've been around since the stars were born and I've been challenged by a lot stronger than you and survived every time so make no mistake, I will put you in your place if you continue to treat Octavia in this way."His teeth were bared with every word, the fury crystal clear. Octavia was taken aback by his reaction to her unruly guild mate."Ok, Leo. You can go back now. It's fine, I promise. Thank you for your help,"the celestial wizard said quietly to him, reopening his portal and watching him return to the celestial realm. She looked at the Fairy Tail wizards sheepishly,"He's... very protective too,"she reasoned. Sitting on a nearby rock, she listened to the conversation continue with a slight shame creeping in. She'd made such a scene. As Andrea made a plan to split off, Octavia stood and looked worriedly at the elemental mage,"Do you think we'll catch these guys? I feel like they will have gone under the radar by now and that means they'll be almost impossible to find now,"she said in a disheartened tone.
Alyssa listened carefully to the worked-out transport times that Andrea stated to her. It was obvious the elemental mage had travelled a lot in her time as a guild wizard. She nodded along with each point, "That is a lot of travelling in one time space for what was effectively a ticking time bomb. Seems silly that they would take a risk that big," she said, chewing her bottom lip. Hearing Sasha exclaim about the vehicles license plate broug a smile back to the requip mage's face,"Amazing! Do you know what state the plate is from?" she studied the cleared up image, "It... actually sort of looks the same as the other cars here in L.A. so are we thinking its a local hire company? Or the culprits themselves are local?" she suggested. Clicking her fingers, she pointed at Andrea, "Ah, very good! A nullification chamber! That would be a perfect explanation!" she beamed. With all these great ideas, Alyssa was glad that she'd teamed up with the Sabertooth crew, though she couldn't help but wonder which of their theories would prove to be correct in the end. The sadness that surrounded the answer to the question of the young boys condition was like a dark cloud looming over them. Rin didn't seem awfully optimistic. "Its good to know he's alive, at least," she said in an attempt to sound somewhat comforting. The attention being brought to her regular appearance in Sorcerer Weekly however were something of an entirely different conversational tone. "Oh, heh, yeah, I guess I've been in it a few times. Your brother, you say? Yes, he is quite loud and rude as well, it seems. Don't you think he's a being a little vulgar?" she said, unsure of the way he was speaking to the young celestial wizard. Did they have a rivalry going on? For a moment, she cast aside her disapproval of Alec's behaviour and became concerned with the news of one more person missing, "Raine isn't a good one to have go missing. As unruly as he is, he's powerful and his protection would have been a great advantage in this. If he's been taken by these people, I dread to think what they'd do with a magic like his. I'm sorry to say this Andrea, I know you're not fond of him, but I feel a lot less safe with him in their hands," she said, casting the elemental mage a worried look, "However, I think as long as you and I are here, we have more than enough high class wizards on our side. Have you heard from Ymir? She would be helpful to have around as well. And a few others I can think of." As Rin reeled off their other findings, Alyssa was surprised to hear of the potential appearance of a fire dragon slayer. She'd never heard of someone who could utilise such a thing. She had no doubt it was possible though. However, it was worrying that the magic had come from the offending side. Whilst she tried to collect her thoughts and put them in order, she couldn't help but be distracted by the racket that Alec and Octavia were making, and the language that was coming from them pushed her to her limits, "QUIET!" she shouted, "Both of you, just stop it. Especially you," she drew her sword and pointed it at the silver-haired boy, "You will show respect before a guild master. Temporary or not. I won't stand for bickering at a time like this! Your guild master is missing. Your guild mates, people who are your family, are missing so either help or sod off back under the rock you came from, got it?!" She sighed and sheathed her sword. The requip mage didn't like to be harsh but sometimes it was necessary, even if it meant scolding those outside of her own guild. In the corner of her eye, she could see two people who were achieving a more friendly status between them. Leo was being more than a little hands on with Katiki. Octavia's negativity was shrouding her. The girl was clearly worried and needed reassuring, "Have a little more faith, Octavia. Don't forget we...," she paused. Under the radar? "Of course!" she exclaimed before turning to her fellow S-class, "Andrea, say someone was outside of the city by, say, ten miles. How far underground would someone powerful need to be for us not to be able to sense him? Maybe fifty feet to hide someone of Raine's stature?" she clapped her hands over her cheeks, "I can't believe I didn't think of this. I've been so focused on travelling distance that it never occurred to me that they might have barely travelled at all!" She couldn't help but feel a wave of euphoria. She looked at the others in hopes of agreement. Composing herself, she nodded, "Yes, we should definitely sweep once more. Yuki, you're with me," she ordered. Alyssa walked over to Katiki and kissed her forehead, "You can rest for now, ok? I need you at your best. I know that's asking a lot when you're in this sort of shape but hopefully with some magic stitching it shouldn't take too long," she smiled at her best friend.

Theories bounced back and forth between the group’s members. Each one sounded as plausible as the next which, given their circumstances, didn’t help matters all that much. “Feels like we’re running around in circles,” Yuki muttered under his breath. Every new clue brought them one step forward, but the theories and suggestions attached to them took two steps back. The bad guys could do anything. Be anywhere. There’s no telling what sort of resources they’ve got. He sighed and shook his head. Casting about, he let his gaze roam over the debris of the battle scene. “We’ve got to pick a course of action to follow. If not, then they’ll get further away from us.” Forensic clues would stay viable for only so long. The more time they spent weighing their options instead of doing something meant the dark mages had that much more time to move undeterred. Yuki glanced at the silver-haired boy and Octavia. Lips pursed in a faint scowl, That’s not helpful either. They had too much to worry about right now. They couldn’t afford to waste precious minutes arguing amongst themselves. Not that the Exceed would say anything…yet. It wasn’t his place. Besides… He grunted his amusement as Alyssa pulled out her authoritative voice. She could handle them just fine. It was probably for the best too. The gray-haired feline might say a few choice words if he tried to speak to them in that moment. His frustration at himself was eating away at his patience. That’s why he chose to focus on searching the grounds once he finished bandaging Katiki. He would still keep within earshot of the conversation and add to it as he could. But he needed to be moving, be doing something.
Yuki clambered over piles of rubble, skirting rebar where needed, and stepped carefully through areas of broken glass. Most of this zone had been leveled in the fight. His keen eyes searched for any hints of evidence. A cell phone screen, a glint of metal- signs of any sort that might give them more information to use. An ear twitched. Alyssa’s gleeful exclamation rang out. The Exceed listened while she reasoned out her thoughts for the others. Underground, huh? Brows furrowed pensively. That sounded vaguely familiar. Why does that sound familiar? Then it occurred to him. He’d watched a documentary with Kaya a couple of months ago. It was about haunted places in America. One of the stories had focused on the tunnels that ran under Los Angeles. Yuki’s eyes lit up. “You may be right on that, Alyssa!” He declared, turning to face her. “Los Angeles is one of the major cities in the US that has tunnels running under it. Crime syndicates used to use them to kidnap people so they could sell them. Who’s to say the dark mages aren’t using the tunnels for something similar?! They’d have at least eleven miles to work with. Maybe more. And it’s not just L.A. Cities like San Francisco have tunnels underneath too.” It might be a false lead but it was as good of a place as any to start looking. From what he recalled, the old speakeasy buildings and all remained intact and tours were limited to productions like the show they’d watched. What if the dark mages were putting on a front? There was merit to the idea. They’d be able to control access. Hide in plain sight. Hearing his name called, Yuki realized they were breaking into teams to do a final sweep. “Aly, what if they own those tunnels and expanded them so they could move wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted?” He asked the question foremost on his mind, peering up at her expectantly when she approached.
Katiki's eyes widened as Octavia pulled her away from Alyssa, "Oh- Oh umm, yes please.. that would be very... helpful..Thank you.." Katiki said as she followed the young mage to a rock to sat on. She watched as Octaivia pulled out her golden key and summoned Leo, a man with furry years and very handsome looking crouched in front her of her, her cheeks tinted a light pink as her spirit looked at her and started to talk. "O-Oh umm I.. I was in a fight.. against a solar mage.." she said sadly, as he took hold of her leg she winced in pain, grabbing hold of the nearest rock and gripped it tightly. "I-Its okay, It just.. It hurts like fu***** hell!." she said threw gritted teeth. As the golden light appeared from his hand, and upon her wound she felt some of the pain go away. Ice blue eyes look down at her leg and sees it a little more healed but not in to much pain, Katiki casts her eyes up towards the spirit and smiles a soft smile. "Thank you Leo.. Your amazing.." As he excused himself she nodded and watched the scene before her happen. She smiled as she saw how much her spirits loved her, and protected her. *That is a friendship beyond anything I've truly seen* she thought. She watched how she interacted with Leo and couldn't help but to keep grinning.
Katiki's eyes ventured over to where Alyssa was standing with the rest of the sabers, and smiled at her as she pulled her authority around. a light chuckle escaped her lips as she watched what was going on. She noticed Alyssa walking over and bend to kiss her forehead, Katiki's face erupted into a scarlet red, she looked up into Alyssa's eyes and frowned slightly. "yeah..." she looked down slightly but managed to smile a soft smile up at her best friend. "I'll go to sabertooths guild and rest up there, if that's okay with you guys..." Katiki said as she looked over towards the sabertooth mages. OOC: I AM SO SORRY ITS SO LATE!!! Life has been kicking my a** sweatdrop Let me know if there is any thing I need to check!

"We need to find some sort of documentation. From there we can figure out how they are doing this and possibly some chain of command. This is all to organized to for it just to be some small ragtag gang to be doing. Even the best organizations in the world leave some sort of footprint that can be followed. It's just a mater of finding it." Andrea lifted her right hand to her head, her thumb pressed gently against her temple while her index figure rubbed the edge of her forehead. There was a lot of information to process, then came the news of Raine's disappearance. Andrea sighed heavily, heaven knows what that idiot could be doing or what he had gotten himself into between the street and his home. Amber eyes shifted down to Octavia who spoke to the elemental mage. "Yeah, we'll catch them. I can't promise you how soon but we will. And before you even say it, we'll find out where Raine went to as well. He pisses me off to no end but he's still a member of sabretooth." She looked up to Alyssa, "It doesn't mater if I like him or not. He's still a sabertooth wizard regardless." Andrea spoke sternly. He was the only mage with blood magic and she would be damned if she let them use him and ruin the reputation of Sabertooth along with its members. In addition it had been drilled into her that even if you don't like the person you never abandon a guidmate. Somedays that ethic felt tested but even the slightest thought of abandonment just felt wrong to the S-Rank. "If you're thinking underground passages ways or underground rooms you'll want to go even deeper. You're looking at probably closer to one or two miles underground. Deeper than sewer system and far enough underground that it's harder for dragon slayers to sniff them out and hard for sonar systems to locate them with other objects blocking the signal. Even out of town they would still want to be deep enough that it's harder to be tracked. Of course they would have to have a lot of construction to even have anything underground. With supports and all to keep the place from caving in. People might not have thought much about any construction at that time but if we ask about anything weird we might get an idea of where outside of town it might be. If it even exists. As of right now it's just an idea with hardly and solid proof. We'll finish up here and then see if we can find anything."
Andrea had already asked Rin if it was okay to partner up with him, and to her secretive delight he had agreed to it. Though, it wasn't long after that Alec opened his mouth, spitting out words that turned Andrea's face completely red. Her mouth was hug open with all words stuck in her through. Boyfriend and girlfriend? make love???? She didn't even know what to say and so she did what she typically did. Quickly Andrea swung a hard punch at Alec, though she aimed for his jaw if she hit him anywhere else she would be somewhat happy. "The hell, Alec!? Do you even think before you open your mouth?!" Andrea was clearly riled up with both anger that he just off-handly said something like that and out of sheer embarrassment. Her and Rin were friends. Just friends. That's all there was to it! Just. Friends. Though she didn't exactly understand why she was feeling so nervous at the either of the thoughts. It was a feeling she didn't know how to explain, like a fluttering but way more intense. "I--You-- GAH! Octavia you go search with Alyssa. Alec..." She didn't even want to say his name she was so ruffled by him, "You are going with Katiki to Sabertooth. Katiki, if he says or does anything to make you even slightly annoyed; you have full permission to freeze him solid." Andrea threw her hands up as she headed off in some direction, muttering what would sound like gibberish to everyone else. Subconsciously Andrea began to fiddle with the snow globe charm strung around her neck, a subtle sign of when she was nervous. The necklace was a gift from Rin and probably the most valuable item she owned. Not in the materialistic sense but in the emotional sense. The brunette rolled the charm between her fingers as she slowed her hasty walk. Soon stopping she looked around, "Focus, Andrea. Come on. Looking for handcuffs." She spoke to her self as she still twiddled with the charm.

Rin glared at Alec. The younger brother refused to stop his incessant name-calling and teasing of anyone within earshot, particularly Octavia. “If you don’t cut it out then a smack on the head is gonna be the least of your worries,” he threatened. His ocean blue orbs seemed to darken in threat. Even if Alec brushed him off, which would be typical of him, then perhaps Leo’s imposing presence might drive the point home. Rin couldn’t help but smirk at the Celestial Spirit’s promise towards the half-demon. The Takeover mage believed the feline spirit would have no qualms with putting his brother in his place. How is it he always causes trouble like this? He had to wonder what happened to make the guy such a jerk. There were times where Alec even gave Raine a run for his money…and that was saying something. “Alec,” Rin muttered in a warning tone, having caught his brother’s snide remark about lovebirds, “I’m warning you. I don’t mind embarrassing you in front of the Fairy Tail mages.” If there was one thing Alec hated more than being beat, it was being beat in front of those he perceived to be weaker than himself. Shifting his gaze to Alyssa, the young man released a hefty sigh. “Heh yeah,” he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. “He’s always been that way. Not sure why but he’s never been one for politeness. It gets really old pretty fast to be honest. If he doesn’t watch out, then he’s gonna get decked by more than just me.” The subject of Raine’s disappearance sobered him even more. “You can say that again. Raine’s house isn’t some tiny shack that’s easily destroyed. He likes the finer things in life so he gets the biggest and best of everything. What we saw was ash and dust for the most part, with a few things like the liquor bottles still intact. Whoever did it is powerful. With Raine in their grip…” He couldn’t bring himself to continue that line of thinking. Alyssa had good reason to be concerned about the temperamental Blood mage being in the wrong hands.
The dark-haired teenager continued to rattle off their findings, which weren’t many. The main points of concern were the fact that Raine was missing and that he was likely drugged by a Fire Dragon Slayer. He considered asking the others if they believed the presence of a Fire Dragon Slayer possible. There weren’t any records of one, but Rin trusted Alec’s sense of smell. It was one of the select things he did trust his brother on. Before he could question Alyssa about it, the interim guild master seemed to reach her breaking point with the constant bickering between Octavia and Alec. I warned him. Rin shook his head. Hope he realizes he’s lucky Alyssa didn’t use one of her armors on him. His gaze then shifted to Andrea. She was reasoning out the specifics for a dark guild to hide underneath the city. "I don’t know, Andrea,” he tucked his hands in his pockets. “That’d all be true if they were trying to build tunnels from scratch. But if there were already tunnels set in place, it’d be easy enough to hide illegal activity. Like the tunnels Yuki was mentioning. The main infrastructure is already there. They’d just need to build on to it. We all know those tunnels need constant attention too since they were built during Prohibition. Some earlier than that. That constant construction would be the perfect cover, especially if they’d been planning this for a long time.” Which he believed whole-heartedly they had been. The level of professionalism exhibited denoted impeccable planning and staging. These people would’ve needed time to perfect and initiate their tactics accordingly. “If nothing else, it’s as much of an idea as we have right now. Between it, the license plate, and the footage, I think we’ve got the start of a solid lead.” It was simply a matter of following each lead and putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
Everyone agreed to one more sweep of the area. It was important they search over the area to the best of their ability lest they overlook a vital clue. To Rin’s delight, Andrea asked him to partner with her for the final search. His heart beat wildly in his chest at the request. It took all that he had within him to calm himself down so as not to make it awkward. A feat which Alec decided to ruin by opening his big mouth. Rin’s face flushed pale. Had—had his brother really said that?! In front of everyone else?! IN FRONT OF ANDREA?! In the time it took the elder sibling to process it, the brunette whipped around to deliver a solid blow to the white-haired boy. Her action catalyzed him to move, and he delivered a matching kick to Alec’s side. “Of all the idiotic things you’ve said and done, Alec, that’s got to be the worst!” He huffed out angrily. “You’re such a baka!” Turning to face Katiki, Rin pointed at his brother and added, “And you’ve got my permission to freeze him into the middle of next week!” He took two steps back before pivoting on his heel to go after Andrea’s retreating form. His best friend was already a good distance away but a quick run found him catching up to her swiftly enough. Rin fell into stride to her right, keeping a small distance between them. Alec’s words echoed in his mind and made him feel odd getting any closer yet. Plus, they did need to concentrate on searching. The teenager could hear Andrea muttering to herself. He cast a furtive glance to be sure all was well. He was pleased to see she held the charm he had given to her. A faint smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. His attention wouldn’t linger long, however. An odd sensation gripped him. Like a powerful magic tumbled over his entire being. “Hey, did you feel that?” Rin stopped his search. He slowly spun in a circle to try to pinpoint where the impression originated from.
Alec gave a small glare over towards his half brother, his threats were of little concern to him. "Bring it lover boy. You're all talk but no bite! Is that a challenge I smell? I'd rather not waste my energy on a puny kid like you right now, but I'll happily take your sorry a** on after this is through." He spoke with a glint in his eyes, he was never one to refuse or back away from a challenge. But for now, he knew better to save his energy for this rescue mission, plus he'd already lost tons of times and this was just a better way to say it while getting out of challenges he would lose, and otherwise not refuse, especially in front of the others. Alec soon enough watched Octavia shouting at him with a slight smirk, his teasings bugged her off and he simply did not care. "You would need a ladder just to reach me anyways, you need to grow some more inches." He laughed, mocking her shortness. "Most of you all are just weak minded mages anyways. Someone in the guild needs to have the stronger of minds." He spoke proudly, totally full of himself in the moment. Raine, now there was a guy with a much stronger mind! He didn't mind at all being compared to him, or even considered "worst". Than that hot headed spirit lion dude walked over, threatening him in every way he could, defending his little tater tot. "I would never waste my time touching a small fry. You trying to threaten me kitty cat?? I don't give two shyts how long you were born, I don't care if you were the first ever born spirit, and I certainly don't care about your threats. That just makes you an old fart. Just because you managed to survive the whole time, doesn't make you the strongest guy out there. You try to fight me, bring it kitty. I will remind you why dogs rule cats!" Alec mocked the kitty spirit, with a challenging look in his gaze as he cracked his hands. The guy already looked super scrawny, he wasn't even worried. He did not find spirits to be strong at all, and though he more likely was the stronger of the pair, he overlooked it with his super high ego and the fact he always found himself stronger than most others. He;d watch the spirit leaving, he wanted to mock even more but decided not to.
An annoyed glance overlooked this new 'guild master', Alec pretty much was purely jealous she of all mages got the position, and his saltiness came off in annoyance. "I will not respect you, I only respect Celeste as the guild master, and that's it. No one can easily take her place just like that! I am helping for them, and that's it. All you others are just unworthy of my time, so stop wasting your breath trying to change my mind, it's not happening." He honestly didn't care about her authority, and to stop just simply because she told him to. Listening on, Alec overheard his other half trash bro talking about his poor behavior, half glaring in his direction. "I can hear you, stupid." Not too long after, he was flung backwards with a kick and punch of sorts, quickly hopping back up and searching for the culprit, or culprit(s). Now he was being gang attacked by not only Andrea, but freaking Rin too. He wasn't usually one to hit girls, not unless they truly deserved it. But he would smack the closest guy to a girl that annoyed him though. In any case, he would certainly enjoy smacking his stupid brother. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR??? You want a piece of me ice boy??? I will melt your ice!!!" Alec laughed insanely with his gaze facing the sky, mixed more between a evil and hysterical laugh. "It's not something you have to think about! I can smell that love bird aura from miles away!" He defended himself from the two of them, just pointing out that he could see they were two in love mages almost as clear as day. There was no way he was going to avoid teasing them, not a chance in hell. His laughing mockery came to a hault, as he stared with a point annoyed look on his face, turning to see look over his travel partner that was chosen. She could be known as ice girl. "What the hell are we supposed to do in sabertooth??" Alec questioned, more than baffled. He was always such an impatient man. He absolutely hated wasting time doing pointless activities.
Alec continued to walk with that annoyed face plastered to him, walking over towards Katiki. "Let's get moving." He spoke to her, waiting for her to say something or just follow. To him, it felt really pointless going sabertooth. He'd have done things on his own if he went by himself, but he was tied to follow another so that'd be harder to pull off now. He was going to just have to get his dumb brother back somehow along the way, a sneak attack most likely! He didn't even care if it'd be during any battles with the enemies. He did whatever it took to get that swing in. [Exiting to Sabertooth ? ]

Lostening to Rin and Andrea talk about Raines disappearance worried Octavia. She was still terrified of the blood mage, especially after what had happened, but at the same time, she worried about him,"I hope he's ok,"she muttered to herself before gasping,"His house is gone?! What the hell..."she exclaimed,"Who would do that? He must have been in a hell of a fight."Now she was really worried about his welfare,"I don't think Raine would ever turn on us but these people will definitely try to use his magic. If there's experimentation going on, and there clearly is, I would bet my apartment that they'll try to use or recreate it. Which is even more scary because at least he knows how to control it. If a test subject had blood magic and was as out of whack as the boy we just fought, people will die. We can't let that happen."Purely the idea of that happening get filled the celestial wizard with dread. Octavia squeaked as she found herself on the sharp end of Alyssa's blade,"I... I'm sorry,"she said,"Wow, she's scary, no wonder she was picked as second in command,"she uttered. The requip mage did not seem like someone you would want to challenge. The celestial wizard nodded,"Agreed. This looks like it's been planned and going on for a long time. Especially if they've dug down that far,"she said before involuntarily shivering,"Kind of scary if you think about it. Right under the noses of some of the country's strongest wizards. And there's no telling how far they've extended." Octavia's blood boiled. As much as she didn't want to be told off again by Alyssa, she was getting to the end of her tether with Alec,"There's nothing wrong with my height!"she shouted,"And no one here is weak but there's certainly a lot of narrow-mindedness coming from you,"she added,"And there's nothing wrong with my spirits!"She scoffed and folded her arms across her chest at his comment about respect,"If you truly respect Celeste then you would listen to her more. Do you even remember her rules? One of the most important things she ever taught us was ALWAYS respect others. Especially those who hold a position above yours, even if they're in another guild, because you don't know how much sway they have. Even Raine knows that and he's had more issues with authority than you,"she pointed an accusatory finger at Alec,"You've seen what happens when you disobey the rules. Wizards have had their S-class status revoked for it and you're on the same path! Why do you think the ace we had before Raine got kicked out? You know the story of how he belittled everyone else in the guild and made them feel bad about themselves all the time. That's exactly what you're doing now and make no mistake, I will be telling Celeste about it. Don't expect to be so high up for much longer,"she hissed, hoping some message would get through to the silver-haired boy. Hearing that Katiki planned to move to the Sabertooth guild hall gave Octavia an idea,"Hold up, Katiki,"she said before drawing out a silver key with what looked like a full moon on the top of it,"Open, gate of the wolf! Lupus!"she called. A portal opened beside her and a tall, silver-haired man wearing a suit stepped out. He had yellow, predatory eyes and sharp canines, his hair stuck up almost like ears and his nails looked to be painted black."Hey babe,"he said, smiling at Octavia."Sorry to drag you away from any plans but I need a little favour,"the celestial wizard began,"Our Fairy Tail friend has hurt her leg and can't really walk so..."The spirit out his hand up,"Say no more,"he said, closing his eyes. And likely much to a few peoples surprise, he began to transform. His muscles bulged and caused the seams of his shirt and jacket to tear. His trousers followed in being destroyed. Sharp claws burst through his shoes as he grew and changed in shape. Grey fur covered his body and he grew in size until he became a huge wolf, easily six foot at the shoulder. He crouched down."Your carriage awaits!"Octavia beamed at the ice queen,"Hop on." Pleased that Katiki would safely reach the guild hall without having to put any strain on her leg, the celestial wizard turned to Alyssa and Yuki,"Ok, we ready? Let's go this way,"she said, pointing in the opposite direction to the way Andrea and Rin had begun to walk."If the magic is still active in the cuffs then they should be glowing but if not then I feel we may never find them,"she sighed. She wanted to stay positive but after the day she'd had, it was difficult. Out of nowhere, she felt the ground shudder beneath her feet."What is..."she was interrupted by a sudden wave of energy that washed over her,"Whoa... what the hell was that? It felt like... a shock wave of magic...,"she looked towards the direction it had come from, wondering what could have caused such a tremor.
Alyssa noticed that Yuki had gone particular quiet in the last ten minutes, his eyes were searching the area with a look of hopeful longing. He was obviously wanting to get a move on. She reached out and ran her fingers through his soft fur, "Don’t worry, we’ll catch them. No matter how far they go, it’ll never be far enough to get away from us. We’ll find them, bring back our friends and then they will be brought before justice for everything they’ve done," she said confidently. The requip mage rolled her eyes. She should have expected better of an S-class wizard, "Picking on his own guild members. What kind of a person does that?" she muttered under her breath. Alyssa listened to Yuki talking in detail about the tunnels that existed under major cities and beamed at the exceed , "Yes, that’s what I’m talking about!" she said, "I agree with the idea of exclusivity as well. Though if they did buy them, it means they have some serious funding. The people or the guild behind this, like Andrea said, aren’t going to be just a bunch of misfits with a high school science kit. This is the real deal," she continued, trying to think if she knew of any guilds that had that kind of money. However, none of the more notorious ones could afford that kind of renovation, "As for the documents for something like that... where would we even look?" She sighed. With every good theory, there were barriers. Even if the documents did exist, there was surely a big payout to keep them secret and not everyone was immune to bribery. It wouldn’t take much for a city official to pocket a few hundred dollars and file the papers somewhere discreet. Watching the interactions between Andrea and Octavia, a question crossed the requip mage’s mind. She bit her lip, unsure whether it was her business or not but she wondered if there was something going on between the celestial wizards and the ace of Sabertooth. She seems excessively concerned about his welfare and whereabouts yet she’d never even heard a whisper of Raine having a girlfriend or even being involved with another member of the guild. It wasn’t important to get an answer for that right now. There were other things that needed doing. More that needed working out. "Two miles?!" she exclaimed at Andrea’s depth estimate, "Wow. This whole operation must have been going on a long time for that much construction to be completed. A very long time. Though with the funding they seem to have, I wouldn’t be surprised," she said, "It’s quite scary when you think about it. All of this has been going on right under our noses for so long and it’s come to this for us to notice." Alyssa knew she shouldn’t beat herself up about the situation. These people had done a lot to cover their tracks. It wasn’t just her that hadn’t seen it, no one had. Alyssa couldn’t believe the disrespect she received from Alec. She was losing real patience with the silver-haired boy and it was clear that Octavia was becoming more and more upset. So much so she started yelling about the rules set down by Master Celeste about respect and responsibility. "That rule is within Fairy Tail as well," she said, decided to contribute to the discussion of losing status to make things more clear to Alec, "Master Clement removed many wizards from S-class status purely for showing disrespect. Sometimes to their own guild members, sometimes to other guilds. Why don’t you be the better man and become and example of what others should be, not an example of what they should never be," she continued, folding her arms across her armoured chest, "Even our own previous ace wasn’t above that rule. He lost his position after slandering a member of Blue Pegasus on social media. Ultimately he was kicked out of the guild for continued behaviour. It was very similar to your behaviour right now," she sighed angrily, "I will be reporting your behaviour to your guild master upon her return." she added, hoping that would at least make him behave for now. The requip mage nodded in agreement with Andrea’s choice of the silver-haired boy accompanying Katiki, "Yes, you can hold the fort and Inu can tell you everything that happened in Leavenworth. We met some powerful wizards there. You can try to contact others and gather them too," she suggested. The requip mage couldn’t believe her eyes when Octavia pulled one of her keys off her belt and summoned yet another spirit who not only took the form of a silver-haired gentlemen but took the form of a huge wolf that towered over all of them, "Good grief..." she uttered, "I was t expecting a spirit to be able to do that. Just be careful with her ok?" she requested of the lupine spirit. Satisfied that her best friend would be safe, Alyssa started walking in the opposite direction to that of Andrea and Rin with Octavia at her side. Once again she refrained from questioning the young brunette’s relationship with the seemingly unfavourable ace. Instead she opted for a more generalised conversation whilst her grey-green eyes scoured the ground for the cuffs, "So how long have you been at...," she began, but the S-class wizard’s sentence was interrupted by the odd sensation of power emitting from somewhere in the distance. It seemed that Octavia had noticed it too. "What in the world was that?" she asked rhetorically before looking over to where she could just about see Rin and Andrea in the distance and then to Katiki sitting upon the giant wolf with Alex beside her. "Hey, you guys!!! Did you feel that?! Where is that coming from?" she called to the other four mages.

Yuki shook as Alyssa ran her hand through his soft fur. It gave him a modicum of comfort, imbuing a sense of calm with the touch. He truly, deeply hoped that Alyssa was right. He wanted nothing more than to believe they would follow the clues straight to the bad guys and deliver justice. Just like in the detective and superhero movies he and Kaya enjoyed. His ears and tail drooped with the thought of his best friend. What if—No…No. No. No. The silver-haired feline shook his head to clear away the dark thoughts surfacing again. I can’t let myself get distracted from the plan. We’re here to find clues to track them down so we can rescue everyone, he remarked silently yet fiercely. Allowing his mind to travel down those rabbit holes would do nothing but make him a liability. Yuki refused to become more of a burden. With renewed resolve, he set about skimming the area while the mages discussed the tunnels. “That’s what made the tunnels so important during Prohibition,” the Exceed tossed over his shoulder, shuffling a piece of rubble over with his foot. “The police couldn’t bust them for what they couldn’t find. They couldn’t find what they couldn’t see, and they couldn’t see what they didn’t know to look for. It’s probably why they’ve been able to do it now. Nobody knew they needed to look for strange things going on underground.” If only they’d been more vigilant in that regard. Yet they couldn’t fault themselves. Not really. Who would think to monitor activity below the cities? Most of the readings were likely to be attributed to routine, everyday occurrences anyway.
It all kept circling back to the same thing. Knowledge. Their lack of it is what ultimately put them in this position. Now it would be their accumulation of it which would set everything right. And Yuki was determined to play as much of a part in that as possible. His blue-grey orbs never stopped searching the piles and piles of rubble, never ceased zeroing in on glints of metal or juts or rubber that caught his attention. Not even while he listened to Alec make an idiot out of himself, or when the group was broken up into teams. An ear flicked in Octavia’s and Alyssa’s direction. “Magic cuffs glow?” He quirked a brow, turning to look at them. As he did, an odd shimmering light caught his eye. There wasn’t much to be seen of the phenomenon. Large chunks of wood, stone, and rebar lay heaped over top, leaving the tiniest bit visible. If Yuki hadn’t been facing the way he had, or if he had been a little taller even, then he wouldn’t have spotted it. Curiosity took hold of him. He jogged past the two women and went straight to the pile of debris. Clearing away a few larger chunks, he held his breath in eager anticipation. Could he have gotten lucky? Yuki’s eyes grew wide. He instantly dropped to his knees, reaching into the hole he’d made and wrapping his paw around the object. A single tug freed it from its makeshift prison. There, in his paw, dangled the remains of a set of magic-sealing cuffs still aglow with the faintest of magic. “Hey, Alyssa, I found--!” The rest of his sentence broke off as a wave of powerful magical energy rocked the area. “What the—,” he frowned darkly. That sort of shockwave was very distinct. There was trouble nearby. The question was- was it related to their case? There was one way to find out. “Aly?” Yuki’s tone was pensive. Her name underlain with the unspoken question.
