Started reading the introduction of the rules, sounds interesting! o: And it sounds like it would be easier for someone (like myself) to transfer from free-form text role-playing to a dice system. I'll read up more on it a little later. Today's my first day off since classes ended, so I've got a lot of sewing projects for Christmas to catch up on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a completely unrelated note: I decided to take up running. (I've never exercised a day in my life unless you count P.E. in school which I always slacked off in anyway). I believe I shared the link to this App [Zombies, Run!] while it was still a kickstarter. It got its funding but the app was $9 when it was first released and I didn't think it was worth it. Now they have a new app for beginners to running for $2 so I decided to give it a whirl and see if it could inspire me to get active. [spoiler alert: it worked]. Went on my second mission today~
D&D has its roots from Chainmail and wargaming in general, it's unsurprising that it's how it turned out. I can't help but minmax in d20 systems either, because it's all about game effectiveness. I heard from others that Fate is a lot of people's go-to for a generic narrative RP system. On apps: neat :3 (I'd be worried about quick battery consumption though).
Today I finally got out of a hellish barfy funk, so I drew something for an IRL friend of mine. I figure it's appropriate to share here, too smile
The snowman thing is a reference to a gag outfit he wore a year or two ago. While my friend doesn't understand the in-joke, he found it amusing anyway. The theme of the card exchange was OCs. As for your question: Not in a "gettin' muh jollies" way, if that's what you're implying. Sabe's 'high concept' had formed into "powerless everyguy put through hell 24/7", so it would make sense to let him have the worst of it. Aside from when it's used for humor, it's used for dramatic effect or tugging at compassion. An important note is that in revision I'll be putting it in a different light. Less pathetic, more resilience and like "damn, how the hell does he manage to put up with all that?" I normally don't like chibis since I find it lazy, but I think I did okay this time. That's 'cause it's Maerua. You couldn't catch Waffle dead in a dress/skirt
Well thank you smile I think in a very early arc it mentions somewhere that Waffle's corset was part of a dress, and she snipped off the dress part.I'm glad I'm feeling better too. I might actually be able to eat Xmas dinner tonight, seeing how I starved myself for two days. lol
My plan is to make that tough/resilient aspect clearer, because I'm trying to keep him from sliding into flat and annoying 'woe is me'/'saaaaaaaaad' territory, or pull him out of it if he's there already. Out of curiosity, how far did you read back from when you returned to the guild?
I don't know if my memory is playing tricks on me again or not... so, to be safe, I just tell myself the only thing I know for sure is what I was here for.
It's fine. I asked because page 522 may or may not ring a bell. It's roughly after that page where the sliding starts. For what happened to him then and afterward, it's fair to say that it's his breaking point. The problem is that the breakdown drags on with no end in sight, and that risks apathy and stagnation.
