Melody took a step back from all the carnage but when it had cleared she realized what was going on. "Resonance! You shouldn't be here!" She rushed up to him and took him by the arms. "She isn't what you think she is! She's not Tessia! She's here with the CPG! She used us to lure you in and she did it to get to that little Reyvateil you're with!"

Hikari had blanked out for a moment. She remembered starting to feel ill but then nothing else. And suddenly Aaron was shaking her by the shoulders. "A-Aaron? What's going on?" She asked. And then, she remembered the conversation going on.

And as if to add salt to the wound, she could plainly hear Melody's voice loud and clear, calling him Resonance. It was at that moment that Hikari realized that she didn't know who to trust. She had done it again. She had allowed someone else to go into her Cosmosphere. She'd allowed them to get to know her. And of course, in the end they lied. Just like everyone else.

She didn't know what to do. Maybe this all happened for a reason. Maybe this world really should be destroyed and nothing left with it. Maybe... that's why I'm the Weapon...

The young Teru woman screamed as the Song Magic was flung at her, Zek and Gannon. She fell to the ground on impulse, in a futile attempt to protect herself.

-Zek-

The Teru wasn't sure what was going on. He was tired and weak. They had been captured and he was being lead away as Melody was speaking to the Tessia impostor, and then something happened. Some of the guards dropped to the ground. "Ice magic...? Gannon!" He turned to see his friend at the same moment Gannon saw Tessia. They talked and then Melody tried to warn Gannon. "She's right! It's a trap! Get outta here!" The Dive Shop owner called out to his friend, but it was too late. The Reyvateil had begun to sing at an incredible speed. Zek tried to call out, to move, but he couldn't. He was falling. The last thing he saw in this world was his own blood spraying out from a hole in his chest.

Gannon…

The sound of Melody's voice seemed to snap him out of the trance he was in. "Not Tessia...?" How could this not be Tessia? The woman he loved was standing in front of him. But she had died... How could she be standing here? "After Hikari?"
Come home...

He reached out to take the woman's hand, but hesitated, something was wrong. Nothing made sense. And at that moment, she released her song magic on them. He was thrown back by the power of the blast, his back hitting a tree. Blood erupted from his arms, legs, and head as he was cut by some unseen force. Without thinking, he created an ice barrier around himself, Zek and Melody. If he had been as weak as he was all those years ago, the Reyvateil's magic would have torn his shield to shreds, but it seemed to be holding. His power had grown much stronger over the years.

He dropped to his knees, as his legs collapsed from the wounds. "Melody... Zek... I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner." He glanced at the two to see how they were doing, but froze as his eyes fell on Zek. There was a gaping hole in the man's chest, and the Teru knew that his friend was gone. "Zek... No..."

Whether it was the twang of the bow string, or the whistling of the arrow, something had alerted Tessia to the incoming attack. She pointed in the direction the arrow was coming from and a string of words escaped her so fast that it was impossible to tell what she said. A mirror formed in the arrow's path. The arrow struck the mirror, but instead of breaking the glass, it entered it, vanishing. A few seconds later, the arrow reemerged, this time heading back in the direction it was shot.
After reflecting the attack, the fiery-haired Reyvateil turned her attention to the wall of ice in front of her. Her song magic had done damage, but had failed to break through. Apparently, she had underestimated Resonance. No matter. He couldn't hide in there forever, and as soon as he stuck his head out, she would cut it off.
A giggle escaped her at the thought of it. This was more fun than she had had in a long time. "Mmmm... What's this?" She turned as a blonde-haired man launched an attack against her. Again, the same string of Hymmnos flowed from her as when the arrow was fired in her direction. The mirror appeared in front of the boy's attack, and after a few seconds, reflected the attack back at him.

When the Reyvateil attacked the Teru, Hikari saw Zek fall over dead with a gaping wound in his chest. An overwhelming fury overcame her and she didn't even hear Aaron's request anymore. She couldn't even think.

She took off after Aaron in the fight and stood there behind the young man as he attacked. But then, when the Reyvateil attacked Aaron, she wasted no time in beginning her Song. And then, as soon as she cast her purifying light magic, another, all too familiar Hymn from before came spilling from her lips, greatly amplifying the Song.

The light above her began growing in strength, seemingly exponentially. "You won't get away with that!" She screamed.

The Magic, quickly becoming stronger, evolved into Blinding Solara. "I will destroy you and everyone else in my path!" She cried out as she unleashed the enormous magical attack upon the Reyvateil and the other soldiers, knocking many over and causing blindness from the effects of her attack.

So this was the Reyvateil that the President wanted to much? “That Hymm…” Tessia made it back to her feet after the attack. “So, you’re the one who replaced me, are you?” Her eyes darted over to the wall of ice, to where the Teru was hiding. “Looks like you replaced me in more than one area. Has my husband been treating you well? It doesn’t look like you’ve been cut in half, so I guess he’s treating you better than he treated me."

Gannon…

Everything was wrong. Tessia being here, attacking them. Zek dying. could see the battle raging outside the ice shield. It looked like more troops had been attracted by the fighting. There had to be several dozen out there. And Hikari... She was out there fighting. He could see her. She was singing. He had to protect her, but how could he fight against Tessia? How was she even here!? He'd seen her die. He'd held her hand in her final moments. His entire world had been turned up down. If he didn't know her personally, he'd say the Goddess was laughing at him.

Gannon struggled to stand, despite the pain. His wounds weren't as bad as he feared, but his forehead was bleeding pretty bad. It was hard to see without his eyes gumming up. He reached out and placed a hand on his forehead. A layer of ice formed over it, closing the wound. He did the same for his arms and legs. "It'll have to do..." he limped over to where Melody was and helped her to her feet. "I'm going to drop the wall. I want you to try and make it over to Hikari. Can you run?"
