"Lovely!" Anna took her place in her chair, once again motioning for him to sit down. As she situated herself, she tucked strands of her light brown hair behind her pointed ears unconsciously, wondering where to start despite the fact that this routine should have been commonplace by then. "As you may know, I am Miss Annabelle Souris. May I please have your letter, Gerald?" Her voice was light, not intimidating at all. If there was one thing Anna wanted to communicate without words it was that any student in her office was welcomed with open arms. That went for the Academy as a whole as well. "Then we can delve into the nitty-gritty aspects of this whole business."

"Of course, Miss Souris." Gerald pulled his acceptance letter from its place in the portfolio and leaned forward slightly to deliver it to her desk before returning to a position of quiet attentiveness. He tried to keep his eyes on her face and not let them wander, as the many articles strewn about the office tempted them. Thus, he immediately noticed the odd shape of her ears when her hair was drawn back. Elven, his brain supplied, defying logic. Can't be... Must be some sort of genetic mutation.Still, hazel eyes, carefully blank, studied Miss Souris discreetly as she perused the letter. ((Edited, because I cannot type.))

Once everything was sorted out in her mind, Anna took on a more direct, take-on-the-world attitude. "I see. Welcome to Grove Academy!" The letter was promptly returned to the professional young man before she began her usual list of rules and regulations. "Now, while we want you to have a rather independent experience here, there are a few rules you will have to abide by. Firstly," she began, making sure to meet his eye at regular intervals as she fiddled with packets and keys from a drawer, "The Gatehouse is strictly off-limits. Then of course, there are the dorms of Maple and Keystone. Please, do not enter those dorms without due cause. The girls of Maple enjoy their freedom from prying eyes, while the Keystone students also take their privacy very seriously. There is the town of Moliné, where you can get your uniforms fitted, as well as some wonderful places to eat or buy supplies..." Annabelle felt as though she had been throwing a bit too much at him at once. Finally she relented to just handing him his student packet which held most if not everything he needed to know about the grounds. The students, however... that came with personal experience.

The woman seemed nice enough on the surface; Gerald guessed that one of her strong suits was public relations. The packet she handed him felt thick, and he guessed it would contain most of the things she was mentioning and more. While her attention was on him, the stout youth met her eyes with his normal blank calm. He didn't want to ask questions that would most certainly be answered in the paperwork, so he settled for a nod of understanding and quietly waited for her to continue.

"Inside, you'll find your room keys. You'll be staying in the Oak Dorm, room 105, I believe." Anna added a slight, warm laugh of sorts. "And please make yourself at home. Just don't do anything drastic to your room while you're here, alright? If you have any questions after all that, please feel free." Finally she allowed herself to relax, waiting for him to say anything at all.

Gerald didn't smile in response to her laughter, instead doing a mental tally to see if he had any pressing questions for her. He didn't know where Oak Dorm was, but he was certain there was a map somewhere in his entrance packet. Moliné was most likely mentioned in there as well. A town outside the academy. Ah, there was an intelligent question. "Thank you, Miss Souris. About Moliné... will I need a pass to leave the academy grounds?" He had been in boarding school previously, and there had been strict rules about leaving the campus. Miss Souris had said he was expected to have an 'independent experience', but that didn't mean he was going to start pushing boundaries immediately.

"Oh..." The Headmaster had never mentioned anything to her about passes. She was rather new at this, and she sincerely hoped that wouldn't cause any trouble for the students. "Well, I'm sure that you should be able to go there without much hassle. Everyone is going to get their uniforms since it is the beginning of the year. I would say not to worry about it until everyone has been accepted and classes have begun. Then you will need permission from either myself or the Headmaster to visit the town." Anna made a mental note to ask Kaien if she saw him briefly about permission to leave the grounds. "Do you have any other questions?"

There it was again. For just an instant, there was a flash of the youth and inexperience Gerald's first impression of her had been. Then, it was gone, and she seemed all business. Someone like Miss Souris demanded more study, but if her job was limited to admissions and administrative duties, he probably wouldn't be seeing much of her as the year progressed. Ah well, there would be plenty to worry about once he was settled in... like getting a feel for his classmates. Gerald shook his head slightly. "No, thank you."

"Alright then!" Anna rose from her chair with a bright-eyed expression. "If all goes well and I arrange a class, we may meet again, Gerald. It was a pleasure meeting you today." It wasn't a direct request to remove himself from her office, but there was so much to be done on both their parts. "You may want to take advantage of this free time to get your things in order and meet a few new people. I'm sure that will be quite the adventure!" Especially if he ran into a fae or elf. The thought crossed her mind that he hadn't seemed at all shocked at her ears. But, then again, perhaps he wasn't at all sure of what he was seeing. Humans did have a tendency to ignore the truth.

He rose quickly when she did; it was only polite. "Thank you, Miss Souris. I look forward to it." He inclined his head in a tiny bow, then met her dark eyes once more. "Good day," he added respectfully before turning away. As he opened the door to let himself out, he let out a soft sigh of relief. That hadn't been difficult at all. If everything else went this well, he'd have Grove Academy figured out in a month.

Anna's smile followed him out the door, until finally the door closed and she was once again left alone with her thoughts and book. "So many humans coming in. I wonder how we'll manage to keep them distracted..."
Her office once again became quiet with her tentative reading.

With a self-confident strut, Danni hurried down the hallway with her rolling suitcase and shoulder bag in hand. Her long, red hair was tugged back into a half-pony tail, keeping it out of her face. The headmaster had seemed busy when she walked by his office, so she opted for the Principal-Teachers place instead.
When she reached it, she set her suitcases outside of the door, and knocked, leaning against the wall after she did.

The exasperation she felt flitted across her face before settling into an expression of acceptance. This was her job, afterall. "One moment please!" Anna called out as she set her book aside and made her way calmly to the door.
Answering it with a warm smile, Anna seemed more like a student than an Administrator. "Hello! Come in, come in." She stepped aside, gesturing once to the chair in front of her desk. "Welcome to Grove Academy."

Danni smiled in return, taking the seat. " Good to be here." She pulled out her letter, and set it on the desk. " I guess you need to see it?" She said, smoothing out her skirt after crossing her legs in a lady-like fashion, even though she was far-from.

"Yes, of course." Anna read over the letter, though by then she knew where to look for what information. "Welcome, Danielle. Forgive me if I seem a bit out of sorts. I've just made this place my home as well, and I'm afraid it's been a bit of a whirlwind." Her confession was accompanied by a light laugh. "But, now onto business."
For all the smoothness of the day, something finally stuck. Literally. The drawer that held the student packets was filled to the brim with the envelopes, and finally all those corners and strings had caught. "Oh, dear, what now?" Brown eyes gave an apologetic glance towards Danielle. With a great tug, Anna managed to wrest the drawer forward, but not without sending the entire desk into a jolt, sending her potted lily into a precarious topple. "Heavens no!" Anna cried, launching forward to catch the small pot's base in her hand. Once the moment passed, Anna was still stretched out across her desk, holding the pot firmly to the wood.
