Trying to set up my home network, Ebag.
I did it at home before my father completely ******** it up.
Of course, now that I have my own place, Murphy's Law comes into play, and everything that can go wrong seems to have gone wrong.
I really don't want to constantly unplug my modem to go between my 360 and PC, or anything else I might need to plug in, and I don't want to go wireless because it's slower than a wired connection. sweatdrop

Actually, some wireless now gets up and past 100mb connection. At least I think I've seen some. -shrugs-
What're you going to use it for? xd
And unplugging is a b***h.

Right now I use my PC and 360.
I'll probably get a PS3 eventually. One of the big reasons I need a wired network is for media streaming purposes, although I may buy a wireless anyways to keep my Wii connected - I'm not really sure yet.
Either way, I'm ******** done with this. There's something going on between the modem and router to where they're not speaking with each other, and as a result nothing's getting accomplished.

Router have bad ports?
That's happened to a few of mine and I don't ******** know how it happened.

You need to reset your router (should be a button somewhere in the back or underneath it; hold it for more than 20 seconds), then unplug the power.
Plug it back in after 10 seconds.
Then access the router set up page and remake your router settings.
Also-- nothing wrong with going wireless.
That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it.
And it's worked out pretty well so far.

Ha ha, you'd think so, Vahn.
And that's exactly what I did back home when setting up the network there, and besides my dad screwing it up on occasion, it's worked fine. But things have a tendency to break or go wrong around me, and setting up my network at the apartment here has been nothing but a pain in the a**.
I'm probably going to buy a wireless router anyways, just for the sake of it, but in the meantime I need this to work.
Which it doesn't.

Just suck it up and go buy a wireless one.
It's what I use here.. although I loath Linysys.
I'm thinking of switching everything over to NetGear.

I use a Belkin. It's ******** good. Hasn't had major problems other than once or twice.
Everything else seems to break down quickly with the s**t that runs through this house. xd
