As Ben started to guide the customer to the fiction section, he responded to the introduction set up by the girl. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kay. You can call me Benjamin. Oh, and here's one recommendation." He picked up one of the paperbacks, one of the famous novels of the present generation penned by Rick Riordan himself. "The Magnus Chase is good if you like Norse Mythology. Heavily inspired but the author had put up some twists and turn to keep it entertaining." He hoped that the other would be curious about that saga.

She chewed the inside of her mouth, considering for a minute. "Yeah this looks good. It's been a while since I've thought about Norse mythology though so it should definitely be interesting." Feeling glad that the girl was started to get interested, he went on with the next recommendation. He picked up the title penned up by Cassandra Claire. "Lady Midnight. First of the Dark Artifices series. If you want to be taken for a wild ride, read this." Not many people had picked up the series so it should be a chance for him to show how interesting it could be for her.

Benjamin chuckled at the enthusiasm brought upon by Kay. "Except that I'm homeschooled by my adoptive family, so I didn't get the chance to form it. I appreciate the suggestion, but I have to pass for now." He then picked up the last recommendation, the one featuring another saga, this time penned by Kiera Cass. "This is The Selection, first novel of another saga. Try this out if you want dystopian fiction, though Diveregent and The Hunger Games trilogy are also good picks." Maybe Kay will end up buying all three books? Or even the entire box sets? It was up for her to decide on that.

She smiled as she grabbed the last book and gave it the same treatment, looking over the front and back covers in order to make a decision about it. She chewed the inside of her mouth again, thinking over the book carefully. She gave him a smile. "This one sounds good as well, but I think two books is enough for me for now." She set the book down on the shelf he had grabbed it from, still holding on to the other two. "I can always come back for this one when I'm done with the other two." She took a deep breath in, still smiling. The British half-demon hummed in thought. It would be a great idea to start that up, but it would take some time. "I'll think about it, actually. Not a bad idea." Happy to know about her choices, he then heard the comment about the smell of bookstores, though he was worried about letting her get out of the establishment because of the weather outside. "I appreciate that you started to appreciate the atmosphere of the place with books. It will be always like this. But I think you should stay here a bit longer until the rain will subside." He wouldn't mind showing off his ability again, but being sick was not cool at all.

I don't think I brought a bag that would protect the books properly." she sighed to herself. She could go home pretty easily should she choose to. In fact, she could be there nearly instantaneously. But she didn't want to wear herself out using her power unnecessarily. She took a moment to compose herself, returning a smile to her face. "I suppose I can stay for a bit, I don't have much anywhere else to be anytime soon." She flashed him a smile and clutched her books to her chest. "Oh! Glad to hear that she listened to his suggestion of staying still at the bookstore, he then sat down on the stairs that connected to the elevated section. His apron crumpled a little with the posture, but he paid no attention to that trivial detail. "Just approach the cashier at the counter to pay for your books, and you're all set to go later on." Ben straightened up the upper strap of his apron as he contemplated on what to inquire next. "So, where is your house?" She didn't possess the depiction of a rich kid, so Lumiere would be out of the options list entirely. His other two guesses would be either Etoile or Ombre since it would be possible that she lived on her own.

The blond rubbed the back of his own head with a hand as he heard Kay's reply. He formed a slight smile on his lips as he stood up. "Then that means you are one of my neighbors because I also live in the same district as you. Definitely convenient." He gazed at the window once again, the rain still resuming its splatter at the surface of the glass. Definitely, it would take a long while before the rain would stop. "Care to tell me your origin before your decision to move into the city?" He never left his focus on the outside scenery. Sure, there were multiple vehicles here and there, but it was mainly with people who had to work even with the unfavorable weather.

I haven't met many people who live in Ombre... Or really Soleil at all so far" she laughed lightly. She took a moment at his question, trying to think of a way to briefly summarize her life, as the wording about her origin seemed to be asking that, as her smile faded. "Well, my parents both died when I was twelve, and I was in foster care after that. I've moved around a lot trying to find a place that makes me happy to settle down and had heard a little about Soleil and decided to check it out." she looked out the window and smiled again. "So far I haven't gotten much out of it, but I'm still hopeful." She turned back to face him before again rebutting his question, "What about you?
