Sryne I would commit acts of violence against the computer if my broadband connection was taken away. Hear, hear. A year and a half ago, I was sub-letting from a guy who had broadband... up til then, I'd seen DSL a few times, and lived in dorms so I'd been on a network... but damn. I downloaded more music and videos than the rest of my life combined. Well, at the time. And once I took his computer to my techie pal to clear off -- turned out he'd managed to download a few gigs of porn and just as much spyware, as well as a few viruses -- I was in g33k h34ven. ^^

A mom of one of the kids I teach is a computer tech and offered to look through her "stacks and stacks" of RAM chips to see if she had something that was compatible with my computer. If she doesn, she's going to give it to me for free. xd

(Mine... not gonna upgrade; my card slot problem would probably necessitate replacing the motherboard, so I'm just gonna save up and probably build myself a comp in a few months)

Building your own comp would be cool. I'm still trying to get the most milage out of this one. It's still good, just in desperate need of updating.

Yeah, I did that one first and I like it better as well. Afterwards I thought of the idea of just doing the little shadow thingy underneath and have him floating. Figured it was worth a shot.

Yeah, I figure I can't afford the kind of computing power I really want, and building it's way more cost-effective. But... well, I've never done it before. I'm so going to ******** something up, I just know it!

I want to build a new computer sometime in the next year or so... I don't need it, but I want to. It's going to have two graphics cards and a dual core processor. I'm considering liquid cooling to help it all stay in good health. All together it'd cost over $6000 to buy it prebuilt, but I can build it myself for under $2000.
