"Thats my guess,either that,or their afriad of the fire.but I am guessing the former,lets take care of him and set a watch on the camp,when they think were asleep,well attack them.We should question the orc first though,he could give us valuble information."

Ranu looked over at the orc from where he sat. "Have you tried asking nicely?" he said in a tone that suggested it may have been sarcastic, or sincere, depending on how it was taken.

Van smilled, 'Orcs freindliness go only so far.' Then, he rubbed his side, and looked at Elrothiel, 'Ithink im just bleeding alot, it dosnt hurt to bad, you dont have to worry...', looking at her bag of medicines and equipment.

"Since when do Orcs care about the wellbeing of their own kind?" Eledar asked rhetorically. "If the Orcs want him back so badly as to not attack, he must have in his possesion something of value." Eledar looked at the gravely wounded human, then to the newcomer. "How did the Orcs seem when you 'reasoned' with them?" As he headed towards the woods, he paused and looked back. "Forgive me for my rudeness, I am Eledar, son of Kelas."

Van stood up and walked towards the bound orc, he would have to be upfront about it. 'Listen, Im not going to p***y foot around this anymore.' He said as he stepped next to the orc. 'I am taking this orc back to the orc party, trust me, it is in the intrest of the group to just give him back and continue on.'

Van shook his head. 'Look, they wont. Its not us they are after. But they will if we dont return him...look at it like this, if they had captured one of us, wouldnt you want them to return them back?'

'What does it matter who is who? Man and elf have broken promises to eachpther and their own kind as well. The orcs intent out there is to get this guy and go on, they need all the men they can get and fighting to take this one back would lower them still.' Van said. He couldnt understand for the life of himself why they were set against orcs.

((Because their natural enemies? xd Sorry I've been away for ages but I just got a new home computer and they aren't installing the broadband till mid-march so have to use the school computer at the moment.))
Elrothiel hadn't bothered standing up while they talked. She had carefully selected several herbs from her pack and ground them into a sticky paste. Standing up now, she crossed to Van and indicated that he should let her apply it.
"This will quicken the healing of the body and prevent infection." she explained, "With your genetic inheritence," she gave a small smile as she said it, "I don't want to try anything magic-related, even minor."
She surveyed the bound orc with misgiving, "I agree that they probably want him back because he's got something important." she said slowly, "But I also trust Van's judgement. He knows more about them than we do. There's a chance that if we free him, they will leave for a while with whatever it is that is important. If we kill him, we will definitely be attacked for whatever it is. We can't chance it with two of our party injured." She paused for breath and added, "Besides, even if they do attack, one more on top of a hundred or so others won't really make a difference."

Van nodded to Elrothiel and loosened his bandages for the medicine. Van turned to the orc, 'You will be returned in moments.' he said to it in orcish, then turned back. 'We pose no threat to this party of orcs, in the sense that they have no reason to fight us. Like I said, their orders are else where and where just slowing them down.'

Elrothiel applied the paste thickly and frowned. "Why attack us in the first place then? I mean, they hate Fangorn. Why come in here after us if we're only slowing them down?"
