At some point during all the literal Chaos Chara had found himself distracted. After Perdita took her hand away (which he would admit, he very much grabbed for his own comfort more than anything else) all Chara could see was fire. Fire that licked so close to his heels that he could feel it singe and frey the edges of the fabric that held them together. And then the youma.. All the youma..
Of course he wrestled them, he fought what he could, getting scratches and bruises in the process, until the point where he had trouble standing. What happened to the team he was with? How did he lose track of them so quickly?! What the ******** was with that GIANT DRAGON?! There wasn't any time to think anymore and Chara just went on auto-pilot as he fought, knowing there wasn't anything more he could do.
God dammit was he weak here! He couldn't even try to put the fire out with these god damn heels on as the fire just went between the gap of the ground and his sole.
Everything felt hopeless and it was strange to the chocolate kid. He'd never give up! He'd DIE before he allowed himself to become one of these monsters! And that nearly became what happened as a moment of avoiding flames resulted in a youma with claws as sharp as razor blades lunged forward. There wasn't time to protect himself and an internal "********" was felt before Chara vanished.

Sabine, Senshi of Tactics
If she had noticed the knight move, she didn't say a word, only continued to curl up around the pail and protect the fragile contents with her body. She waited for the end to come, for the youma to descend and rip her to pieces.
Instead, there was a sudden rush, and she clung to the pail with all her life, and then suddenly.
Athene's relief at the dragon youma's defeat had been a short-lived one, as youma emerged almost as if to take its place.
They came in all shapes and sizes, more and more of them - more youma than he had seen at least in one place.
And in that moment Athene knew with a cold certainty that they were not going to make it to Caedus' portal.
It would have been nice to say that he was brave as he watched what was likely to be the cause of their deaths get closer, but all he could think of was how he didn't want to die...
Not yet.
Not like this.
And there was guilt there too, because he couldn't help but feel responsible for the twins and Liryn being here.
"I'm sorry" and it was hard to tell who the apology was directed to, whether it was to Alcor, Eleonora and Gorner or to Subamara or to the red and yellow-haired senshi or to Grus his once team mater or to Liryn.
"I'm sorry" he worried at his lower lip before forcing himself to try and reach for one of the shattered pieces of crystal because given that he was going to die anyway perhaps he should at least try to do what he could to fight...
And then paused to stare at his trembling hand as he realised that it was glowing.
And it wasn't just him because Alcor and Gorner were glowing as were Eleonora and Liryn and so as it happened were the red-haired senshi (Ananke) and Grus and Subamara.
And it wasn't just the members of his small group, because there were others who were also glowing, one by one until they looked almost like stars...
And perhaps he had lost more blood than he'd realised because he was suddenly feeling drowsy, his limbs feeling almost abnormally heavy as he suddenly wobbled.
The last thing Athene remembered was wobbling towards Alcor as the crystal slid from his hand, as for a moment light flared pure and brilliant...
And then there was nothing.
=============================
Liryn had been happy when the dragon youma had finally fallen, because this was it - this was their chance.
Caedus' portal was waiting for them - they just had to make one final push.
He hadn't been expecting the youma to come flooding out from wherever they had been hiding, or for them to start advancing like some sort of encroaching wave...
But the tabby mauvian bobtail could recognise a final stand when he saw one and he was determined to stand by the group right until the very final last.
He sat up tense inEleonora'shood as his purplish eyes watched the oncoming youma and a part of him wondered if he'd be able to pull of that one last kitty beam that he'd been contemplating...
He wasn't expecting the remaining Order members to start lighting up one by one, each one glowing softly as the light revealed their position.
It took him a while to realise that he was glowing too, his purplish eyes shifting from looking outwards to looking downwards as he hazily noted the glow covering Eleonora and his paws.
But the youma were still approaching and Liryn knew that he had to do his part, as small body tensing in protest because now was not the time to give into the drowsiness that crept up from seemingly no where.
And then suddenly the light was getting brighter until the light was all he could see...
Liryn turned his head tiredly in an attempt to try and spot the others, knew that Eleonora was at least still with him by the feel of material under his paws.
However perhaps he had turned to fast, perhaps the action the one to be the final straw, because in the moment when he tried to turn his head suddenly there was nothing.

Sailors Sadachbia and Megrez - EXIT!
As great as Sadachbia's thirst for battle was, she didn't have an endless reserve of strength. No matter how many youma she punched through, they just kept coming, and when that warm feeling washed over her, all she wanted to do was hold still for just one moment and rest. Puffing and panting, she stopped and closed her eyes.
The mysterious power whisked her away before a youma could sink its claws into her back. She didn't even notice that Megrez had disappeared mere moments before.
Glitnir, Knight of Mars - EXIT!
Glitnir was not going to get an answer from the General. Something whisked him away before he got it, before he could even be aware of something changing...
Super Sailor Cor Caroli - EXIT!
This had rapidly escalated to "******** nightmare." If Cor Caroli ever regretted not working out more, now was it. He was going to get dogpiled by an eternal stream of youma and be utterly powerless to repel them. This was truly a game-ender, even if he was unwilling to admit it. Sure, this was the end, but it wasn't like he was going to actually die, or feel himself die at least, right? Exhaustion logic never failed to make bizarre leaps. He thought his brain was melting.
The mystery magic transported him out of the Rift before he could pratfall onto his face from a delirious exhaustion.
Sailor Porrima - EXIT!
Somewhere in the madness, Porrima couldn't help herself. She screamed.
Everything was on fire, youma were everywhere, the dragon had landed... it was becoming too much for her to keep quiet about. A very real fear that she would not be able to go back to the world outside had settled in, and thoughts where whirling through her head. She would never see her older brother or sister again, never sit in class, never even do homework again.
Never draw again.
It was great and unfathomable, and she broke under the pressure.
Fortunately, she didn't have to break for long before she was mercifully removed from the situation.
Corrupt Sailor Kitalpha - Assisting in Youma Lifting
Oh, how Kitalpha wished she could have gotten the last laugh on that lardass senshi. In any other combination of circumstances, she would have laughed at that parting curse before the senshi got wooshed off to god-knows-where. Maybe it was to hell. It probably wasn't. Too bad. As the Corrupt lay there, dazed and confused (she would have had Xs for eyes if she were in a cartoon), she became aware of someone giving her instructions. She had no idea who or what, but for once in her life she had no compulsions to snap back at it.
Furthermore, someone was dishing out instructions. This someone was a lady General who, even despite the scales, Kitalpha might have called sexy in other circumstances. Right now though, she was just a higher tier of badass with a plan. With an ungainly grunt, Kitalpha pulled herself up and scurried over to the youma. "All right, you big scaly fatass, you have issues and you need to GO!" She stationed herself amidst the group attempting youma lifting and gave an exaggeratedly loud pull.
Lt. Paracelsian - Assisting in Youma Lifting
Was it over? Oh, it looked like it was over. Not any good form of over, but over nonetheless.
The voice in Paracelsian's head concerned him, but he was in no position to quibble with strange voices from nowhere. Besides, a General was giving orders, and while he had been utterly useless in the battle, now was a time to be something NOT useless. He made his way over to the youma carcass, perhaps a bit slower than he should have. He uttered a quick "Yes Ma'am" as he passed by Cinnabar, then tucked himself into the pulling group. Where was he even supposed to grab on this thing? Maybe anywhere would do, but he had to find a spot quickly.

Yes Ma'am!

Kitalpha and Paracelsian have joined the pulling party!
The Greater Youma might have been lifeless, but it was still scorching. Holding onto it was not comfortable; small shards dug into those who attempted to lift its massive weight, and the residual heat was unpleasant at best, and painful at worst.
There was no movement beneath it—and it took a mighty effort to even lift the beast up enough to check for Laurelite.
She was there, though, crushed and mangled beneath it. Despite all her power, she was only human. She bled, like a human. She burned, like a human. She broke, like a human.
Her pretty face was marred, and it did not even appear that she was alive. The weight of the beast had crushed her, but its flaming body had the most evident damage. Charred skin covered nearly every inch of exposed skin, and blood had stained her teal hair another color almost entirely.
Her eyes were closed, and she seemed almost peaceful, beneath all that damage.
Her chest did not seem to move—unless you were looking very closely.
Laurelite was alive, but barely.
Unconsciousness was a blessing for her; if she'd been awake she would have screamed herself to death.

Havasu Falls, Squire of Pluto
Havasu was tired, hurt, and just done. The dragon had made their lives a bit easier by collapsing on top of the general queen but it seemed the death of the great youma opened the floodgates of smaller youma. They were going to die. There was no way to get out of this place alive. Hav surveyed the battlefield with eyes that were resigned to their fate. He had always known that being a knight would lead him to his death but knowing that they would have achieved nothing in this suicide mission was a bit heart breaking.
He was ok with death, it would break his family's heart when he died but it is what it is but to see his friends die... his companions... his team mates... his girl... even after their heated words, even after her telling him that they were through, he still cared for her. He would move heaven and earth itself to save her and the rest but as the last of his energy slipped from him, he knew there was nothing he could do. They were well and truly ******** on fumes and fighting exhaustion the squire fell to his knees completely unaware that he had started to glow. Blackness started to eat away at the edge of his vision, the pain and tiredness trying to drag his a** into oblivion but Hav fought against it. He might be resigned to his fate but he sure as hell wouldn't go quietly, not if he could help it.
Fate intervened however. Between one choking, gasping, breath and another Havasu Falls, Squire of Pluto was whisked from the burning hell that was the Negaverse.

Mlinzi, Guardian Cat
The cat's hail mary pass had worked, sort of. He had scored some damage against dragon but the cat had failed to figure out his exit strategy... mainly the landing but he was a cat and like all cats landed on his feet. Unfortunately for him landed on some scale shrapnel, hurting his poor feet, making him yowl in pain.
He sucked up the pain however and continued to fight, only pausing to notice the glow about him. "I'm a glow stick," the cat muttered as he tried to return to his group. Before he was able to however he was whisked away from the battlefield, his yowl of surprise cut off.
{Mel Exit}
Antares, Senshi of Scorpions
Antares' head was hurting again. Her vision was starting to fade, blackness eating away her consciousness. As she began to glow, her body slowly collapsed to the ground completely involuntarily. She succumbed to her wounds, not only her head wound but the various cuts, burns, and even a few acid marks, just as she was teleported out of that hell.
Cinnabar snarled as she braced and pushed, the great carcass slowly rising off the ground. Others came to join her and the two corrupts and the load lightened, little by little, lifting higher. The heat that still radiated off of it was intense and painful, scalding her palms and forearms, seeping through the front of her corset where she braced it against the beast's side.
"Do you see her yet?" She gasped out, her lips pulled back from her fangs in a grimace. "Hurry up! We can't keep this up for long!"
Her claws were maybe the only thing keeping her in this right now and they needed to get it DONE, because soon even she wouldn't be able to block out the pain as the heat blistered her skin.

Chibi Oort
Oort had thought that it would be it with the dragon youma.
Had thought right up to the end that with it gone that they would finally be able to access Caedus' portal - that they would finally be able to go home.
But even with the big dragon monster haven fallen and the super scary lady with the scythe no longer there, the way to the portal was still blocked, the portal further than ever.
And there was even more youma, with more and more coming...
And Oort wasn't sure how much longer he could fighting.
He knew he had to keep the starseeds safe and that he wanted to watch out for Tomlin and he he wanted to get out with everyone else...
But the portal was still inaccessible, was still being blocked - and that was even if there was still a portal.
He didn't want to die.
He could feel his eyes sting as the youma started to approach and tried to rub at his eyes furiously.
He didn't want to die!
But now that he'd started it was as if he couldn't stop as one by one the tears continued to fall.
He thought he could dimly hear Tomlin speaking as the ginger star cat rubbed against a sandalled foot, wet reddish eyes shifting to turn and peer down at the guardian.
And was Tomlin glowing?
It was enough to startle him a little from his tears, enough for him to realise that he was glowing too as was others around him.
And he was suddenly tired, so very, very tired, his reddish eyes suddenly feeling heavy as he fought and failed to keep them open.
He may have started to tumble as the light started to brighten but Oort was beyond caring as the light carried him away.

Sailor Dia, Corrupt Senshi of Candy Action: Feeling the burn
If pushing up against the dragon hadn't been bad enough, being underneath it was proving just as difficult. The backs of her arms were burning, the back of her head felt as though it was on fire - as she squirmed further, she could feel the heat and weight of the beast as it pressed against the thin fabric of her fuku.
And then - there!
Laurelite lay there like a broken ragdoll, limp and unresponsive. Her face was hardly recognizable, the flesh of the dragon having so badly burned into her skin. Her hair had grown dark, a mingled color of brown and red, both dried and fresh blood soaking her head and uniform.
Without thinking, her gloved hands reached out and took hold of the General Queen's arm. Another wiggle forward and she was able to take hold of her other shoulder and pulled.
"I've got her, I've got her! "
The back of her gloves were burning off, the fabric unable to handle the heat any further. She gripped the older woman under her arms and tugged with all of her might, dragging them both out from underneath the expired youma. Unknown arms were reaching around her, pulling and grabbing her to assist in hurrying the process - there wasn't time to think, she was burning up, her arms and hands and everything hurt - but they were freed, Laurelite was out and the further they were dragged from the beast's body, the cooler the air began to feel around them.
The General Queen looked horrible. A grizzly reminder that, like the lower ranked officers of the Negaverse, she too was vulnerable to physical attacks. A mortal with some very serious wounds.
"Does anyone have any star seeds? Or energy? Or anything?"
Exhausted eyes looked over to the Youma General and any other officer that stood nearby, hoping they had an answer or any kind of solution. Laurelite needed attention and she needed it fast, but Dia was fairly certain that no hospital in DC was capable of caring for a dragon-burn victim.
What were they going to do?

Sailor Alcor // Senshi of Cold Sailor Eleonora // Senshi of Heat
Alcor had just about used her attack on the crystals per Athene’s request when the contents of the Greater Youma’s stomach spilled all over the battlefield. In one fell swoop it ascended into the air for one glorious moment before the air beneath its wings failed to keep it aloft and in a rage of fire it plummeted to the ground atop the only other terrifyingly powerful signature that caused just as much devastation.
The cold from Castor’s attack went mostly unnoticed thanks to the number of years spent at the ice skating rink in nothing more than a leotard and tights. Fire, however, was more than she could handle with the heavy coat she had on. Still, she endured the heat as best she could though she knew Eleonora well enough to tell with only a glance that she was not faring well with the temperature fluctuations.
Both stood covered in cuts from the scale shrapnel from when the youma dispelled it’s armor injuring everyone around, order and chaos alike, but neither showed just how much those injuries hurt as their concern for their friends were far greater.
Smoke billowed around them in dark plums sucking the oxygen from the air resulting in fits of coughing that refused to go away though no sound of their own making was enough to drown out Athene’s heart breaking apology. Both twins looked up to the Eternal for guidance and help in understanding what it means to be a Senshi, and though the portal had blinked out of existence as did their hope of escape along with it, neither blamed him for the situation they were in. Each and every one of them understood the dangers pursuing this crusade could be; and while their faith in Cadeus had exceeded his capabilities in keeping them safe, they knew this outcome was a distinct possibility.
For the first time in a long while Eleonora felt remorse for jumping into something so haphazardly. Yes she had magic but in the end it offered them no aid. Since they were children her sister had been the one to clean up the mess or rein her back in when things got too overwhelming and made the no Senshi of Heat rethink her actions before. Alcor had voiced her concerns and now with their means of escape gone like a flickering candles flame admits a storm Ele knew that had she just listened a bit closer instead of pushing the topic with her twin things may have ended a lot differently.
Glancing over her shoulder, the pale haired senshi gave Liryn a rueful smile between aggressive fits of coughs just. Tears streamed down her pink tinted cheeks from the flames mixing with soot and dirt. She had failed him, the one who had the most faith in her as a Senshi; first in the academy when the floor gave way, and now as the lesser youma began snarling and stalking their prey.
But then the unexpected happened when blue-grey eyes met his bright purple; he began to glow a soft yellow color. Confused, Eleonora looked over at her cousin, then the small group beside them till the sound of her sister's voice immediately pulled Ele from her stupor.
“Athene?” Without hesitation Alcor’s arms wrapped around the Eternal when his body unexpectedly leaned heavily into hers. Her voice sounded raspy and broken as she tried to call his name once more. Legs injured as they were made it difficult to support his weight and so she tried her best to lower them both carefully to the ground.
Alcor’s body trembled against his as she held him close. Try as she might to remain strong, it was a losing battle as her eyes squeezed shut spilling tears of sorrow and defeat blinding her to the light that that encased them both. “Wake up please…” she whimpered, her body rocking ever so slightly. It was a sight that broke Eleonora’s heart because try as she might she could not recall ever seeing her sister so heart broken. They were friends, from awkward first meetings to long conversations with overdue explanations; Athene, Liryn and Gorner were the only ones they could share all sides of themselves with. “Athene!” Their meeting had been a blessing in disguise as it had lifted a visible weight off Alcor’s shoulders; and now that friendship was compromised in the worse way possible.
As she made a move to join her sister's side, Eleonora’s footsteps faltered and soon she found herself falling forward onto her hands and knees. Dizzy and faint all at once, exhaustion set in blanketing her mind like the gentle waves lapping at the sandy shore. It was nigh impossible to resist the urge to lay down and so she did just that. Liryn nestled between her shoulderblades the last thing the Senshi of Heat saw before her eyes slid shut and she welcomed the sleep that tugged at her consciousness was her twin’s body go limp as she fell over sideways still holding their friend protectively.

Lt. Prehnite - Oh Shhhh... It was with a relieved gasp that he released his hold on the dragon, wrenching his trowel free, and away from the painful heat. Watching as the others were quick to pull the Pink haired corrupt free from beneath the creatures burning carcass once she had their Queen in hand. He couldn't help but hiss in sympathy, finally getting to see the woman in question. She looked close enough to dead... "Yes, some." Quick to offer up the few energy crystals he had on his person. Thankful that he hadn't had the chance to turn them in before everything had gone to hell. It wasn't much though; it wasn't nearly enough. "She's going to need more than-than what we have!" Prehnite stammered gesturing at the Queen. The woman probably had broken bones, atop the extensive burns; he didn't want to think about the blood loss and...They needed real supplies, unless someone had a magical cure-all lying around.
His thoughts briefly flitted to the idea of porting the poor queen to the infirmary, before remembering that it was probably smouldering wreckage by now. The bastards had lit the whole of the barracks on fire...
He was determined though, that they could manage to do something, anything! Whatever they needed they would get, if they had to take it from the scattered dead themselves. Whatever was lacked, would be obtained; if they had to commandeer an entire hospital and the doctors within. "What about Metallia?"Surely the great powers that be wouldn't just let someone so valuable be snuffed out, crushed by a damned dragon no less!

Dallol, Squire of Uranus
"... what?!"
Did she hear him right? Because Dallol could have sworn that she just heard Corinth sprout a marriage proposal. Right here right now, in the middle of Negaspace and with the youma around them as their witnesses to boot. Did the possibility of them not walking out of here alive drive him mad with despair and bring this on?
"You really have to pick the darnest timing to spring a question as important as this."
Ok she'll take that back because on hindsight, this was definitely a Darren Waughner thing to do. Something that was right up his alley. And she had to be the biggest idiot to react to such an unromantic proposal with how lightheaded she suddenly felt, how red her entire face was and how fast her heart was fluttering in her chest that it felt as if it might stop any time.
"Ok. Fine."
Taking a deep breath, she slowly released it with a nod. That was just about when she was teleported out of there along with the others.

General Labyrinthite - Rounding up his war pups
Thrymr had vanished right before him and it had left the general seething beneath his otherwise calm demeanor when he returned to the rest of the officers. He did not miss the way the general-queen's aura had flickered yet remained present but finding out if she was alive was not at the forefront of his mind. And frankly, with the threat she'd parted him with last time they'd personally interacted he had no interest in checking on her well-being.
Besides, there were plenty others that could.
Labyrinthite returned to Wolfeite, grasping the man by the arm and jerking him along until he'd come to stand before Tourmaline and Aluminite as the candy senshi had run off to assist in the retrieval of Laurelite. He looked angry with his set jaw and narrowed eyes. "Collect your friend," he ordered, directing it towards Tourmaline with a flick of eyes towards Dia.
"You're wounded, she's wounded, we need to do regrouping." Even his tone was harsher than usual and perhaps it was one of the few instances that his wolves could see the bare threads of emotion he kept tightly lidded. He looked away, letting his whiskey-colored gaze sweep across the field when he spotted a very familiar bob of blonde hair. His grip on Wolfeite tightened and if he didn't look pissed before he certainly did now.
"Zircon," he barked into the crystal that he'd fished out. "You better stay exactly where you are because we need to talk," he said, unspoken threats lining his voice.
"I wouldn't bother with starseeds or energy orbs, she's unconcious," he said loud enough for Dia to hear him. "She consumed many on the battlefield too, another one could push her over the edge." They didn't need another Apatite.
Frankly, the general wanted to collect his recruits and vacate negaspace.

Corinth, Page of Neptune
Corinth would have replied to Dallol - the words were about to escape his lips. Very simply and easy to say words - but instead he was teleported away, it would have to wait till they reached their destination.
Tourmaline had not responded to Sailor Dia's tug, or her insistence that they help the others dig General Queen Laurelite out from beneath the massing smoldering carcass. She had leaned just enough away from Aluminite that she could watch Dia do something that she never would have associated with the Senshi of Candy (or her alter-ego) otherwise: manual labor.
"Dia, what are you doing?" She hissed beneath her breath, obviously not loud enough to have been heard or responded to. In the time that she had known the other girl Tourmaline never would have expected her to be part of a rescue team. Then again, she wouldn't have expected her on the battlefield either, but General Labyrinthite had been the reason behind that.
The Lieutenant would have continued staring at the excavation crew as they worked to free the General Queen had it not been for the order given by her General. Tourmaline jumped, startled that she had somehow missed his approach. She would have wiped at her face first in an attempt to smudge some of the tear stains out of the soot on her face but she didn't bother, not wanting to risk getting anything in her eyes as a result.
She nodded acknowledgement to the order that she had been given, picking her way across the battlefield to where Sailor Dia now was alongside the General Queen, crisply roasted to 'well done' thanks to the youma that hadn't had enough sense to die on someone other than a superior officer. She brought her arm up enough to cover her nose and part of her mouth with her sleeve, the smell of soot and lingering cold with a light trace of rust preferable to that of burnt dragon ooze and singed hair.
"Are you crazy, Dia?" Not the best way to start things out, no, but Tourmaline wasn't exactly in the right state of mind to be guarding her words. "Look at yourself. Look." She was steps away from snatching her by the arm and yanking her roughly, but the singed fabric of Sailor Dia's sleeves -- while their friendship might have started off rocky she didn't actually want to hurt the Senshi of Candy any more than she might already be hurting. For the moment, at least.
"I'm sure that there are others who will be able to tend to her better than you will. Than we will," she added on quickly, not wanting to start a verbal battle when she was trying to be persuasive. "Look at your gloves, Dia. Your sleeves. We need to go. You're hurt."
